Emma Stone lives in New York, but she was seemingly in town this week just for a quick promotional blitz, and then she jetted off? somewhere? Maybe to London, because the Cruella sequel is in pre-production. (Incidentally, I loved the first Cruella film and I?m so glad a sequel is coming.) Emma appeared on Good Morning America, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and probably several other shows. I?ve never been crazy about Emma?s style, but I really love her sad-beige outfit in these photos. It?s very ?70s, very Ralph Lauren. The tuxedo dress is meh, and her airport outfit looks like my winter uniform, minus the red loafers.
Emma?s still talking about Poor Things, for which she?s nominated as an actress and producer. This is also Oscar-campaigning for her, by the way. Poor Things made a surge at just the right moment. I don?t know if her late surge will translate into any Oscar statues though. While Emma is beloved by Oscar voters, I think the Best Actress Oscar is Lily Gladstone?s to lose. Now, could I see a situation where Emma gets a surprise win because Lily and Sandra Huller split the vote? Perhaps. But Emma is not ?campaigning? like a frontrunner, she?s just hustling to promote the movie in general, which is probably the smartest way to campaign.
Meanwhile, Emma did a cute Jeopardy thing on The Late Show. She talked before about how much she wants to appear on regular Jeopardy.

I?m trying not to take this onslaught of celebrities sharing how much they get done between 3-7am personally, but the struggle is real. I understand that people tend to fall into one of two camps, early bird or night owl, and I?m also aware that some studies say there are people who simply need less sleep. I grew up with one of those people, an early bird who functioned on fairly little sleep. My father, like Dolly Parton (first time I?ve uttered that statement), would wake up in the wee hours and pretty much get a whole day?s work in by the time my mother and I, night owls, would be rising for the day. It was hard not to feel like a schlub by comparison. Rachael Ray is among that anointed, productive crowd, as she described to People Mag while chatting up a new partnership with A&E:
Rachael Ray has been cooking up something big.
Ray?s production company, Free Food Studios, formed a partnership with A&E Networks. The deal will bring ?in the kitchen? content and various new shows from both Ray and other talent over the next two years.
The project means Ray, 55, is having a hard time finding a moment to relax ? but she?s just fine with that.
?I?m not really good with downtime. I love to work. I love it. I love to have my brain very active, and if I?m not writing shows, I?m drawing ?foodles? I call them ? recipes on paper ? and writing books and things,? the iconic television cook tells PEOPLE. ?I don?t like being idle. I?ve never been good at it.?
She even jokes that she wrote ?120 pages? of one of her cookbooks on her honeymoon. ?I really am bad at doing nothing!? she says proudly.
Ray says she starts as early as 3 a.m.
?I can?t sleep. I wake up at three or four in the morning, and I just start working because I can?t stop thinking about it,? she says. ?I?m not very good at sleep. I never have been. Even when I was a little girl. My nickname was Little Hoot because I was a night owl.?
Her husband of over 20 years, John Cusimano, prefers a little more R and R. ?He loves to sleep. Unfortunately, once I get up and turn all the lights on and start typing and turn the coffee on, he?s forced to get up pretty early, too,? Ray quips. ?He?s usually up between five and six?The other morning he said, ?You realize it?s three o?clock in the morning, right???
Another main reason Ray likes to stay hyperactive is that she?s always curious about trying out new things and taking on reimagined business ventures.
?I?m always game for anything, and I?m a person who?s over 50 years old. I?m trying to still remain relevant, which is an honor,? she says. ?It?s cool to be over 50 and get new opportunities that keep getting thrown at me.?

Real question here: do Rachael and her husband live in a studio apartment now? Why is she turning on the lights in the bedroom if he?s still sleeping? At the very least she could flip them on for getting dressed and then turn them back off when she?s done. And is the coffee being made in the bedroom?! Why must he be forced to wake up at the same time?! My vehemence stems from empathy!! Rachael may start her day before daybreak, but she should leave the hubby to his own circadian rhythm. Also, is it me or was that quip about her honeymoon a little rough? Not working doesn?t necessarily mean doing nothing. Rachael and John have been married for nearly 20 years, though, so if they butt heads I?m sure they?ll have one of their signature vents and move on. As for her new A&E shows, she?s working on one where she?ll be cooking from her home in Italy. I?m gonna need several boxes of pasta handy when that airs.

I like Isla Fisher. I think she?s adorable, hilarious, and gorgeous. Isla has three children with husband Sascha Baron Cohen and has been acting since 1993. She?s currently co-starring with Josh Gad in Wolf Like Me on Peacock. While promoting Season 2, Isla talks a bit with People about her upbringing. Isla?s dad worked for the United Nations and was stationed all over the world, from Oman where she was born, to Scotland, Australia, and the U.K. Going to a new school every year was tough for Isla, but she figured out how to make new friends. Her secret? Make ?em laugh, make ?em laugh?
As a child, Isla Fisher says she wound up moving constantly, thanks to her fathers job as a banker for the United Nations. Fisher credits the upheaval with becoming a performer. Because I had to learn to make new friends quickly, the thing that I leaned on was humor and storytelling, so it was a natural fit to want to tell stories as an actor, she explains.
Her best tip for fitting into a new environment? I definitely feel like letting your inner idiot out are the best tips for making new friends, she says. You make people laugh and theyre nice to you. Its pretty pretty basic.

Hey, you know, drawing people in with humor is a tried-and-true method of attracting people in general. Everyone likes to laugh and if you?re a natural-born performer, then I can totally see how you?d use that talent especially as a kid to ingratiate yourself into otherwise uncomfortable social situations. I?ve never been a particularly funny person, but have always tried to make up for it by attempting to at least be witty (I can pun sometimes!). I also learned early on that validating those who do use (appropriate, non-derogatory) humor to fit in socially was a key integration tool, as well. But most importantly, the older I get, the more I?ve realized that a lot of the time, simply listening to what someone else has to say when asked about themselves goes a long way.

Calista Flockhart works so rarely in television or films, it always feels like an event when she?s actually out of the house. She?s now starring in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, and she plays Lee Radziwell, Jackie Kennedy?s sister. She?s joined by Naomi Watts (Babe Paley), Diane Lane (Slim Keith), Chloe Sevigny (CZ Guest), Molly Ringwald (Joanne Carson) and Demi Moore (Ann Woodward). Calista recently gave a pretty great interview to Maureen Dowd at the NY Times about Feud, about being married to Harrison Ford and about life in general. She also touches on the ?90s sh-t all of the conversations about her short skirts and whether she had an eating disorder. Some highlights:
She would have had lunch with the Swans: ?Maybe once. I felt very sorry for them. Here they are, the toast of New York ? rich, jewels, apartments, houses in the country, houses in Europe. They travel all the time on private planes. They have yachts. They are dictating what is in and what is not. Underneath all that, they were very sad, very lonely and really unhappy women.?
She loved the costumes but her real style isn?t like that: ?I should have lived in the ?60s, for sure?[but] I?m not going to wear a purse that says Gucci all over it, because that just seems strange. I?m also just very frugal. I have some really beautiful designer clothes, but 90 percent of my wardrobe is from Nordstrom. Just what?s comfortable, what works. I have a uniform. I switch from a gray sweater to a black sweater back to the gray sweater to a black sweater.?
On Lee Radziwell: ?Truman Capote recognized that she was living in her sister?s shadow, and he would say things: ?You?re so much prettier. You?re so much smarter. You?re more interesting. You have better style.? She really needed to hear that. I think it made her really love Truman. He was fun, and she confided in him, like they all did.?
On all of the criticism of Ally McBeal?s short skirts: ?I have a lot of distance and perspective, and I?m still incredulous. I cannot believe that I was scrutinized and pursued like that. It was intense and it was unfair.? Ms. Flockhart recalled how casually that wardrobe decision had been made: ?I said to the costume designer: ?It either has to be long or short. It can?t be in the middle, because that doesn?t make my leg look good.? She said, ?OK, let?s go short.? I said, ?Cool, let?s go short.? And then all of a sudden there was this huge short-skirt scandal, which was really fun.?
The conversations about whether she was anorexic: ?I don?t think that would ever happen today. They call it body-shaming now. I haven?t thought about it in a long time, but it?s really not OK to accuse someone of having a disease that a lot of people struggle with. It wasn?t the case, and there was nothing I could do to convince anybody or get out of it. If I had worn a big padded bra, they probably would never have been able to target me in that way. I look back at pictures, and I?m the same then as I am now, and nobody says a word now. I was an easy target, I guess. It was painful, it was complicated. I loved working on ?Ally McBeal,? and it just made it sour. I was very sleep-deprived and I was depressed about it. I did think that it was going to ruin my career. I didn?t think anybody would ever hire me again, because they would just assume I had anorexia, and that would be the end of that.?
She?s always been naturally small: ?I honestly have never been in a situation where I have to watch my weight. My mom is 4-11 now, and she weighed 93 pounds when she was married. Talk about a little tiny elf. I just have small bones, and I just am lucky.?
Why her marriage to Harrison has worked: She mused that one of the reasons that it has worked is because she was ?really content being home? as a full-time mom. ?I didn?t have the same dreams at the time, so we weren?t competing with each other. We?re very independent of each other in some ways and probably incredibly codependent on each other in others.?
Her independence startled him at first. ?It scares him, I think, sometimes. When I first met him, he said, ?You are the most self-sufficient woman in the world, and I don?t know how I feel about that.? I remember I said, ?What are you talking about?? Because I didn?t recognize I was self-sufficient. The other reason it works is, we?re both pretty introverted. We stay home a lot, homebodies, which is nice.?

If you go to the full piece, there?s a cute back-and-forth between Harrison and Calista about how they met (Harrison was interviewed separately). Basically, Harrison caught a glimpse of Calista at the 2002 Golden Globes and he was like ?who is that??? He went over to her and tried to chat her up but she was ambivalent, but they kept talking later in the evening and he asked her out, and they?ve basically been together since their first date. She doesn?t make a big deal about ?oh, I?m the wife of a Hollywood power player,? and it feels like neither of them really revel in that side of things. She?s just happy at home, raising her son and living her life. I also believe her when she says that she?s just naturally small. Some people are just fine-boned. And yes, all of those conversations about her body were gross at the time.

When did you realize that Jessica Biel is weird? She was well into her 30s before I realized that Biel is a whackjob. When she married Justin Timberlake, I think most of us felt bad for her because Justin is no prize and he makes everything (even their wedding and Jessica?s first pregnancy) all about Justin. Then the weirdness started creeping in Jessica is a full-fledged anti-vaxxer who lobbies on behalf of anti-vaccine legislation. She and Justin moved out of LA and NYC to live full-time in Montana. Jessica kept launching weird side hustles which went nowhere (Au Fudge, anyone?). Well, now Jessica is trying to convince people to? eat in the damn shower. This is just? unhygienic.
Jessica Biel is ready to start a movement ? a shower-eating movement. The actress, 41, shared a hilarious video on TikTok this week detailing how ? and why ? she eats in the shower. Fans asked her to elaborate after she professed her love for the concept in another video in late December.
Guys, thanks for all these questions about shower eating. Im just so thrilled everyone is so interested. I really want to start a movement, a shower-eating movement, Biel said. I think, for people who are multitasking, its just going to be a relief in so many ways.
She continued by listing her rules, which included having a ledge or something where you can stick your cup.
I like to take a bite or a sip and put it on the ledge, and then you do your thing. You wash your hair ? keep the soap out ? thats a big deal. Its pretty simple, guys. You can do this. I find it deeply satisfying. The only tricky thing is that when youre chewing, you got to keep your mouth closed because I still like to get under the water while Im chewing, and for whatever reason, I want to open my mouth at the same time and spit water, Biel said.
The 7th Heaven alum joked that she has the urge to spit water because she gets spit in the face with water all the time by my kids and ended the video by summarizing her pro tips.
Chew, do not open the mouth [and] do not let the shower water in. There you go, enjoy your shower-consuming, Biel said.
Its not the first time Biel has opened about eating in the shower. In late 2020, she shared a since-deleted picture on Instagram of an empty plate, fork, and cup of joe sitting on the ledge of her shower. Biel said she was enjoying chicken, apple sausage, and an espresso, captioning the photo, Yes. I eat in the shower. I admit it.

For years, I used to brush my teeth in the shower, but otherwise? yeah, you should just concentrate on washing yourself and not eating wings or whatever. No one really had a divorce/comeback storyline like Nicole Kidman, before or since. Those of us old farts who watched it unfold in real time were in awe. She went from one half of THE Hollywood A-list couple to a woman divorcing her Scientologist husband, all while dealing with a miscarriage and (basically) being forced to leave her two kids in Scientology so she could escape. Then Nicole rewrote her own narrative, doing a string of acclaimed and award-winning films and showing up to every red carpet looking like a million bucks. Moulin Rouge, The Others, The Hours, Cold Mountain, Dogville, all released within a three-year period, with Nicole getting back-to-back Best Actress Oscar nominations in 2002 and 2003. She ended up winning in 2003 for The Hours. While she was riding a professional high during that tumultuous period, she was mostly single and trying to figure out what was next for her romantically. That is the focus of Nicole?s version of her 2003 Oscar-winning night. Kidman spoke to Dave Karger for his new book, 50 Oscar Nights, about what she felt and did on that night.
As Nicole Kidman?s career reached one of its highest peaks, the actress was experiencing one of her most personal lows. The star, 56, won her first Oscar in 2003 for playing Virginia Woolf in The Hours, just a year after her first nomination for Moulin Rouge!. But behind her bright smile and glamorous Jean-Paul Gaultier gown hid a private struggle; Kidman had recently finalized her divorce from Tom Cruise after 11 years of marriage.
?I was struggling with things in my personal life, yet my professional life was going so well,? she told author Dave Karger in his new book 50 Oscar Nights (on sale Jan. 23). ? That?s what happens, right??
On stage, Kidman briefly broke down before composing herself (?Russell Crowe said don?t cry when you get up there and now I?m crying?), and was played off before she was able to finish her speech. Afterwards, she felt the urge to go home.
?I?m not a big party girl, so I was going to skip the Vanity Fair party, and everyone was like, ?You?ve got to go. You?ve got to walk through the party carrying your Academy Award,? she recalls in the book. I said, ?That just feels like gloating, and it doesn?t feel humble.? Like, what? You can?t walk through carrying the award! That feels really inappropriate. They?re like, ?That?s what you do.?
Ultimately, she did go to the storied bash, at least for a little while, with her engraved Oscar in hand: ?So I literally walked in, carried it around, was completely overwhelmed, emotional, shaking, and I didn?t enjoy it. I was almost apologetic, which is so stupid. I wish I could have enjoyed it more,? she says. Afterwards, in the quiet of her hotel room, Kidman was confronted with the urge to find love again.
?I went home and ended up ordering takeout and eating it on the floor of the Beverly Hills Hotel, she says. I sat on the floor of the hotel eating French fries and a burger with my family and went to bed. That?s when it hit me. I went, I need to find my love; I need a love in my life. Because this is supposed to be when you go, ?This is ours.??
The Oscar evening ended with a whimper. ?I went to bed alone; I was in bed before midnight. If I ever won again, I?m telling you, I?d be out for 24 hours.?

I get it she was still in the middle of that crazy ride which started when Tom Cruise filed for divorce. She barely had time to think, she was working on back-to-back projects and she had a moment of taking-stock on Oscar night. Something I hate is this idea that a single woman can?t or shouldn?t be proud of her achievements, or that an Oscar means nothing unless Nicole had a boyfriend or husband to validate her and her award. But I also think it?s more complicated than that in Nicole?s case.

I?m going to keep writing about the Oscar snubs for Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, even though some of y?all are going to keep commenting sh-t like ?but it was a bad movie? and ?they didn?t deserve anything.? If you want to keep doing the patriarchy?s work, so be it, I can?t stop you. As I?ve said, I?m enjoying all of the thinkpieces, analysis and reactions to the snubs. It?s fascinating to watch as Oscar voters freak out (in a sort of ?are we the villains?? way) and it?s interesting to see, like, Oscar historians talk about how significant these snubs were.
Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwigs individual omissions from the recently announced Oscars 2024 nominations wont be forgotten anytime soon, according to an expert.
Its definitely not a good look that the Academy members left out Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie for directing and starring in a movie thats largely about how impressive women are often marginalized, says Dave Karger, Turner Classic Movies host and author of 50 Oscar Nights.
Even though [Robbie and Gerwig] both received nominations for their work on Barbie in other categories, these two high-profile omissions will be remembered ? and they will Sting ? for a long time, Karger tells PEOPLE.
The films comedic nature may have also affected overall nominations, he adds.
I do think that the Academy membership has a bit of a bias, unconscious or otherwise, against true comedies and towards heavier dramas, says Karger. Greta and Margot surely made it on to thousands of ballots, but since those ballots are weighted towards voters? No. 1 and No. 2 favorites, we can assume they simply didn?t earn enough of those top-tier votes.

Is he saying it will Sting for Robbie and Gerwig, or it will Sting for the Academy that they bungled it so badly? As all of the Barbie-haters have screamed a million times by now, Gerwig and Robbie will both be fine Barbie?s success ensures that they will get to make anything they want with any kind of financing. Robbie proved herself as one of the top producers in the industry, and Greta is already working on Narnia. But yeah, the snubs will ?sting? for Robbie and Gerwig personally and professionally, and they?ll also Sting for the industry. If there?s one thing AMPAS doesn?t want, it?s to look this out of touch, this sexist, this anti-woman. AMPAS has spent years trying to weather the ?Oscars So White? issues, and now their voters are discriminating against white women who made the most successful and creative movie of the year? Come on, it?s bad.

Paris Fashion Week is still in full swing, and Kim Kardashian?s in town now. Kylie and Kris Jenner have been in Paris for days, and they already attended the Valentino show and Jean Paul Gaultier show (where Kylie ?looked old?). On Thursday, Kris, Kim and Kylie headed out to the Maison Margiela show and they all got fresh looks from the fashion house.
Kim obviously got ?the best? look, I guess. It?s sort of glam/goth and her styling is good here. I prefer Kim with black hair and sort of ?Cher? styling (she loves Cher). The necklace is OTT but it?s fine, it?s supposed to look straight from the runway. Kylie got a silver sequined dress which isn?t bad, although I wouldn?t have gone tea length with it. Kylie?s shoes are horrendous, they look like something Minnie Mouse would wear. Kris looks like her daughters? bodyguard. They?re so funny.
Kylie seems to be doing a copypasta of Kim?s whole aesthetic from several years ago, right? The wet-hair, the heavy makeup, the living doll look.

Zendaya has been attending Paris Fashion Week events in recent days. On Thursday, she stepped out at the Fendi show. Fendi gave her the best dress! Of course they did, she?s Zendaya. I actually love this dress the color is gorgeous, the design is lovely and it ?walks? well. She paired this dress with Louboutins and Bulgari jewels.
The problem is still those dreadful bangs. I will say this Zendaya can pull off any look, including these Vulcan bangs which make her look like Spock. She can do anything. But why would she do THIS? She had the same Vulcan bangs at the Schiaparelli show earlier this week. Given the mismatched hair color, I assume these are clip-in bangs which Zendaya decided to rock throughout PFW. What a weird ?trend? to try to force.
Meanwhile, Law Roach has styled her throughout her PFW events. Law Roach may have quit the ?celebrity stylist for hire? game last year after the Oscars, but he would never quit Zendaya. One thing I?ve wondered about for months though: does Law think Zendaya?s ?house ambassador? gig with Louis Vuitton is a bad idea? Probably not, because Zendaya is apparently not contractually prohibited from attending other runway shows.
Bonus: Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava were also at the Fendi show.

Kylie Jenner brought her daughter and her mother to Paris Fashion Week. Kylie attended the Jean Paul Gaultier show (sat front row and got one of the better dresses) and she also took Stormi out to some PFW event. Kylie has become a regular at PFW, and just going from memory, she attends different designers? runway shows every year. One year, Schiaparelli, another year, Acne Studios, this year Gaultier. If you ask me, many designers like her better than Kim. Anyway, people are talking about the Gaultier photos a lot because Kylie got photographed really close-up and they?re saying she looks ?old.?
Kylie Jenner switched up her look yet again after going public with BF Timothe Chalamet revamping her style at Paris Fashion Week but being met with haters in her comments. Check it out yourself the 26-year-old reality star stepped out in a strapless cream-colored sheer flowing dress at the Jean Paul Gaultier show Wednesday a far departure from her bold, skintight outfits that shes been rocking of late.
As you can see Kylie paired the stripped-back ethereal sleepwear-inspired dress with towering heels, minimal makeup and old Hollywood-style locks. A very soft fit, for sure.
She was certainly feeling herself in the moment, and even posted some clips of herself from the show but, unfortunately, a lot of people had less-than-nice things to say about her appearance namely, the notion that she looked a bit old, at least in their eyes.
One person cruelly commented she was aging in dog years, while another added she looked 47 and a third said shed ruined her face. Like we said, very jerk-y remarks.

These photos hit in the middle of the ?Gen Z is ageing like milk while Milennials look young? discourse was happening. Personally, I think Gen Z has always wanted to look older and Kylie is sort of the poster child for that when she was 20/21, she was always styled to look much older, always with the heavy makeup too, and that?s been consistent throughout her teens and twenties. That seems to be a thing across the board with Gen Z women they love heavy makeup, they don?t like a ?fresh face? youthful look, they?ve already started tweaking their faces, and? yeah. That?s Kylie.
