Oscar voter: Demi Moore should win because she 'has been around for a long time'
There?s always an ebb and flow from year to year as to how much people are really paying attention to the awards season. Last year saw a lot of interest and engagement with what was happening because of Oppenheimer and Barbie, and then the prominent (and nonsensical) Oscar snubs for Barbie. Plus, those were the two biggest movies in 2023, so people once again cared about awards when they had actually seen the movies. This year is different a bunch of smaller movies have gotten awards hype, a bunch of downer movies are getting awards, and the California wildfires have changed the award-show timelines. All of which means that it?s a really wacky year and people aren?t paying attention because there?s no consensus film which everyone has seen. Still, I?m enjoying the wackiness, even if I?m afraid that a bunch of terrible films are about to win Oscars. Speaking of, here?s the Hollywood Reporter?s first ?Brutally Honest Oscar Ballot? of the season. This Oscar voter is a man in the short-films branch of AMPAS. Some highlights:

Emilia Perez wasn?t in his top ten: ?I liked Emilia Prez when I watched it but, even before all the sh-t that happened [involving lead actress Karla Sofa Gascn], it wasn?t in my top 10. I?d have preferred to see its spot go to Sing Sing, which was underappreciated; or Juror #2, which I really liked; or The Wild Robot or No Other Land, but you know how most of the Academy treats animated and documentary films ? no respect. I do like musicals, and Wicked was tight.

He loves Anora, The Substance & A Complete Unknown: ?I really liked the performances in A Complete Unknown ? the fact that Timmy [Chalamet] and Monica [Barbaro] were both really singing and playing the guitar was incredible. Anora was great ? the story and the performances were really fun, Sean [Baker] directed the sh-t out of it ? but the others did more for me. The Substance was what I love about cinema at its best. It?s so bold ? the story, the sound design, the makeup. They gave the audience an experience. And it?s so rare for the Academy to recognize a horror film, but the fact that this one is kind of about what it?s like to be a woman in Hollywood probably helped more people to connect with it.?

Thoughts on The Brutalist & Conclave: ?Going in to The Brutalist, I?d never heard of Brady Corbet and was dreading the [three-and-a-half-hour] runtime, but the way people who had seen it at the festivals were talking about it convinced me to go to a screening really early in the season, and by the end I really appreciated why he did it the way he did it. It?s just an incredible film ? beautifully shot, amazing performances, and such a powerful story. But Conclave was so interesting and exciting in a completely different way ? and fun, with a little mystery involved. I thought the ending was great ? it wasn?t trying to make a point, it was just a perfect reveal. Edward Berger is an incredible director. His votes for Best Picture: (1) Conclave, (2) The Brutalist, (3) Nickel Boys, (4) Dune: Part Two, (5) The Substance, (6) Anora, (7) A Complete Unknown, (8) I?m Still Here, (9) Wicked, (10) Emilia Prez

His thoughts on Best Director: ?I judge this category like one judges an Olympic sport: the degree of difficulty, plus the execution ? did you stick the landing? I think this category needs to be expanded to at least eight. Edward Berger, RaMell Ross and Denis Villeneuve should?ve been nominated. How many other directors could?ve done what they did? And why is [A Complete Unknown?s] James Mangold in here but they aren?t? He?s a really good director ? he told the story well ? but there was nothing special about the way he directed that film. You want to tell me that directing Timmy Chalamet in New York was harder than directing an epic in the desert? Come on. I was torn between Brady and [The Substance?s] Coralie Fargeat, and I ended up going with Coralie. If she wasn?t there, I?d have picked Brady, because the fact that he made his movie look that good with only $10 million is unbelievable. But I just thought about historical absence [only three women have ever won this category?s Oscar] and high degree of execution ? she nailed it with that film.

Best Actor: ?I had a hard time with this one. Timmy was probably the easiest one for me to let go. Ralph [Fiennes of Conclave], [The Brutalist?s Adrien] Brody and Colman?s [Domingo of Sing Sing] performances were just so good. I got to hear a lot from the Sing Sing guys, and really liked them, and I think that what Colman did for that movie, on and off screen, was just remarkable. VOTE: Colman Domingo, Sing Sing

Best actress: ?I was very strongly considering voting for Karla, but when her tweets started coming out I was flabbergasted ? I was like, ?I can?t believe this person said these things.? And it kept getting worse every day. It quickly became obvious, ?I?m not voting for this person. No way.? After that, it was between Mikey [Madison of Anora] and Demi [Moore of The Substance]. Both of them are at the heart of their films, and I loved both of their films. I?m not opposed to voting for new, younger people, when they are amazing. But Demi has been around for a long time, and she absolutely crushed it. VOTE: Demi Moore, The Substance

Best supporting actor: I thought it was insane that the one guy from Anora [Yura Borisov] got nominated over the other two [Mark Eydelshteyn and Karren Karagulian]. I seriously considered [The Apprentice?s] Jeremy Strong and [The Brutalist?s] Guy Pearce, but at the end of the day I just loved Kieran [Culkin] in A Real Pain.

Best supporting actress: I was never as high on Zoe [Saldaa of Emilia Prez] as everyone else was. I definitely considered [Conclave?s Isabella] Rossellini. But I was just so impressed with Monica in A Complete Unknown. The only other thing I?d ever seen her in was Top Gun [Maverick], and this was like another person. VOTE: Monica Barbaro, A Complete Unknown

[From THR]

It?s interesting that he chose Colman Domingo. I love Colman and Colman is a wonderful actor who deserves the world? but Sing Sing felt like a poorly-made student film and Colman couldn?t save it. Still, it?s nice to know that Brody isn?t a sure thing in that category! I also enjoy this guy?s vote for Barbaro, who is absolutely wonderful in A Complete Unknown, but she hasn?t won anything this season. As for Demi and The Substance? I hated the film, as I?ve said before, and I do not understand why Hollywood is so enamored with it. Is it *just* because of the very obvious and superficial send-up of ageing in LA? But I do think a lot of people are just going to vote for Demi because she?s been around forever and she?ll probably never get another shot at this. There is that sense that Mikey Madison will get another ?chance? at all of this. Still, I don?t get the vote for Coralie Fargeat. He really thought The Substance was the best-directed film of the year??

Newly blonde Millie Bobby Brown wore Louis Vuitton to the SAG Awards
Millie Bobby Brown is just 21 years old, shes newly married and shes experiencing with her styling. She recently dyed her hair blonde and has been posting vampy photos to Instagram. This look doesnt suit her, in my opinion, but shes young and has plenty of time to figure it out. Also how do I put this delicately did she get Botox? It really looks like it to me. Millie was in a slink Louis Vuitton pale peach gown at the SAG Awards last night. This color seems to be making a comeback.

Kaitlyn Dever was in a similar color gown, in Elie Saab. The gown is lovely but the color kind of washes her out.

Leighton Meester was also in Elie Saab, in a striking crochet-look strapless column gown. She and Adam Brody are so hot together. Leighton was on stage with Kristen Bell in a bit calling back to her Gossip Girl character.

Sofia Carson got the best Elie Saab, an expertly gathered and tailored peach gown. This is an I expect to win gown, but she wasnt nominated. Sofia was one of the ambassadors to the SAGs along with Noah Centineo. Sofia just starred in Carry On, and that movie was not that great but she was watchable in it. Shes wearing 100 carats worth of Chopard diamonds!

George Clooney: 'I?ve always liked Joe Biden, and I like him still.'
Added 99 days agoSource: CeleBitchy
George Clooney: 'I?ve always liked Joe Biden, and I like him still.'
If George Clooney has anything, it?s the audacity. Last summer, Clooney authored a NY Times column (rumored to be ghostwritten) about how Joe Biden was too old to be president and there should be a mini-primary to select the next Democratic presidential nominee, because VP Kamala Harris was obviously not the next in line. Between Clooney?s column and Nancy Pelosi?s machinations, the entire election cycle changed in the course of a couple of weeks. I will never forget the way these people treated Pres. Biden OR Kamala Harris. Clooney is on my permanent sh-tlist. He stayed quiet for a few months, but he?s currently promoting the Broadway adaptation of Good Night and Good Luck. Clooney is taking over the Edward R. Murrow role (David Strathairn played Murrow in the film, which was directed by Clooney). To promote this mess, Clooney spoke to Maureen Dowd at the NYT. Some highlights:

Playing Murrow: ?I always felt like there was a sadness to Murrow, and that was not something that you could associate with me at 40 years old,? he said. Now he has to turn back the clock and cover his salt-and-pepper mane with black dye. ?My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair. My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop.?

The Trump era: ?You take a narrative, you make it up, don?t worry about facts, don?t worry about repercussions.? He said the play ?feels more like it?s about truth, not just the press. Facts matter. [But] No rules count anymore. It?s like letting an infant walk across the 405 freeway in the middle of the afternoon.?

Explaining the 2016 election: ?I believe that whole idea of the arc of history bending toward justice, and I know it doesn?t feel that way right now. I think there are always these pendulum swings. The first Trump election was, I believe, a result of eight years of a Black president.?

Explaining the 2024 election: ?The Biden administration was terrible at explaining that we?re a world economy, where we were actually doing better than all the other G7 countries. They were bad at telling the story because their messenger was not working at his best, to say the least.?

On Trump: ?He was a New York guy. He?d be at a restaurant and he?d be like, ?What?s the name of that cocktail waitress??? Trump even suggested a doctor who might help Clooney with an injury he had suffered on the set of ?Syriana,? the film that netted him a best supporting actor Oscar. He added, ?We?ve got to hope that he can have that Scrooge night where he wakes up and there are some ghosts of Christmas there that say, ?There?s some good things you can do for people.??

Another Biden story: Last June, Clooney and Obama appeared at a glittery L.A. fund-raiser that raised $28 million for President Joseph R. Biden Jr. When Biden appeared to freeze onstage, Obama led him away. Clooney was gobsmacked. ?I saw him for hours a year earlier at the Kennedy Center, and I saw someone much less sharp? that night, Clooney said. ?I?ve always liked Joe Biden, and I like him still.?

Writing the NYT op-ed: But after Biden?s debate meltdown, Clooney wrote a guest essay for The New York Times urging Biden to step aside. People thought Obama was behind it, but Clooney said he did it despite being urged not to. Many Democrats were grateful to Clooney, who said publicly what they were panicking about in private. Biden, then 81, had promised to be ?a bridge? but was stubbornly clinging to power. But Biden?s cordon sanitaire at the White House and some other Democrats were angry at the actor. The piece sparked a debate about whether celebrities should have such high-profile roles in a party that is already perceived as rich, coastal and out of touch. Biden abdicated his responsibility by hiding his incapacities, Clooney told me, and ?the media, in many ways, dropped the ball.?

[From The NY Times]

Several things I?d like to say, in no particular order. The anger I had (and still have) for Clooney is the way he and others were eager to pass over VP Harris in all of their nonsensical fantasies about replacing Biden. I continue to be outraged that there was all of this smoke for Biden?s advanced age and those people wouldn?t say one fking word about Trump?s very obvious mental and physical decline. I continue to be disgusted that people like Clooney weren?t taking the threat of another Trump term seriously they were like children fighting over a shiny toy, rather than adults justifiably terrified of how bad a second Trump term would be. They should have been locked in to do anything to ensure a Democratic victory, and they just werent. Clooney?s explanation that Biden was too old to explain why the American economy was doing well makes no sense either the media refused to give Biden credit where credit was due, with the NYT (Clooney?s outlet of choice) running daily stories minimizing the galloping success of the Biden economy. Anyway, long story short, Clooney can choke and I hope his play bombs.

Ariana Grande wore a custom Loewe to the SAG Awards: lovely or basic?
Ariana Grande has not won anything for Wicked, but she has been nominated across the board. I sort of wanted to see her win one thing, because I?m sure her speech would have been funny and tearful. But instead, she?s had to watch Zoe Saldana pick up all of the supporting-actress awards for Emilia Perez. At last night?s SAGs, Ari wore a custom Loewe. I honestly can?t get a handle on Loewe and what a ?typical Loewe look? really is, because this just looks like Elie Saab to me. Ari was poorly advised to go through the awards season with this washed-out blonde shade too.

Ari?s on-screen partner Cynthia Erivo wore a spectacular vintage Givenchy to the show. I loved this, I loved how over-the-top it was.

Elle Fanning also wore Loewe, and once again, I?m asking? what is it with Loewe? She paired her look with a Cartier necklace.

Demi Moore wore Bottega Veneta to win the SAG Award for 'The Substance'
Given Anora?s surprise dominance at the Producers Guild Awards and Directors Guild Awards, many thought that the tide had turned against Demi Moore and The Substance in this year?s wacky Oscar race. Awards-season prognosticators even described the SAGs as Demi?s last-chance saloon to go into the Oscars with any kind of momentum or hype. Well, it happened. Demi won the lead-actress SAG Award and Anora went home with nothing. So? the guilds are actually split. Directors and producers love what Sean Baker did with Anora, but the actors? guild was like ?nah, we?ll give it to Demi for this terrible horror film.?

Demi wore this very weird Bottega Veneta dress to win her first SAG. I kind of wonder if she thought she would lose? Like, that?s what the dress felt like to me. She looks so thin as well. Anyway, congrats to her. One really nice thing is the all of the best-actress contenders have been really friendly this year, and Demi and Mikey have often stopped to hug each other and their fellow nominees on their way up to various podiums. Demi did it again last night, stopping to hug Cynthia Erivo.

They?ve finally got Mikey Madison dressing like a princess and that?s when she loses! She wore a custom Louis Vuitton in an icy silver-blue.

Halle Berry was told not to talk about menopause because it could damage her career

Halle Berry was told not to talk about menopause because it could damage her career
Last March, Halle did an event in Los Angeles with Dr. Jill Biden about women?s health. Halle shared a story about how one morning after sex, it felt like she had ?razor blades? in her vajayjay. Her doctor told her it was herpes, but it ended up being a perimenopausal symptom. A few months later, while speaking before Congress to push for legislation that would provide more funding for research and education on menopause, Halle shared that she had a male doctor who told her that she ?didn?t look like? she was in menopause. Now, Halle has started a new company called Respin Health that aims to destigmatize women?s health and build a support community. It will also educate and empower women to make informed decisions about their body. In a recent appearance on Today, Halle revealed that people tried to talk her out of talking about menopause for the sake of her career.

On Feb. 18, the Oscar winner appeared on the Today Show to discuss her new company, Respin Health, which focuses on building a community for women navigating menopause. ?When women have access to a robust community of like-minded women, they automatically start to do better,? the 58-year-old says.

Saturday TODAY co-anchor Laura Jarrett noted that although it sounds ?ridiculous,? it feels like menopause is finally having a moment, with more people willing to have conversations about it.

Berry said at first she was discouraged from pursuing the passion project: ?Sadly, people said to me, ?Are you sure you want to talk about that? Do you want to align yourself with menopause? Do you worry how that will affect your career?? And I said, ?No.??

?And that?s exactly why I should be talking about it because there?s nothing wrong with me being in my mid-life,? the actress continued. ?There?s nothing wrong with being 58, and you have to stop telling me there?s something wrong with me. And I?m going to prove to you that it?s not. And so women, we have to work together to destigmatize this time of life and change culture.?

The Catwoman star encouraged other women going through menopause to lean into their health more and understand what?s happening to their bodies.

?Women find when they start educating themselves that they can make decisions from a place of power, and then they feel empowered and they don?t feel so hopeless during this half,? she explained. ?It?s not time to sit down. It?s time to reinvent. It?s time to have a beautiful, glorious second act. We can still be our fabulous selves, but we have to learn how.?

During menopause, Berry added, ?everything about our body changes, right? But that?s not to be feared. We just need education to navigate that time.?

[From People]

Of course people would try to discourage Halle from speaking out about menopause and blame it on her career. She?s Halle Berry. She?s had worse gossip days than talking about vaginal lacerations and hot flashes, and her career is doing just fine. I?m glad she didn?t listen to the naysayers and is moving full-speed ahead with her mission. I love the idea. It sort of reminds me of what BabyCenter and The Bump do to guide people through pregnancy. I cannot tell you how much I learned about what I was experiencing and what to expect through their articles and message boards. I was 30 when my first son was born, but still the first in my friends group to be pregnant, so I had no peers to talk to. I?d be down to creep on a menopause version. I already get so much education just by reading the comments here.

Heidi Klum on aging: 'All of a sudden, you have hairs growing out of various places'

Heidi Klum on aging: 'All of a sudden, you have hairs growing out of various places'
Heidi Klum has a penchant for excess and is easily susceptible to tragic outfits, but I think it?s all genuine to her free spirit and not an attention-grab. Mostly. Plus she flat out made me laugh when she so effortlessly revealed she?d never heard of Earthshot until Prince William begged asked her to attend their prize party. And here she is again endearing herself to me, talking about the unwanted hairs shes discovering in unwanted places as part of the gift of aging:

Heidi Klum isn?t shy about her body hair.

The ?America?s Got Talent? judge, 51, spoke candidly about growing hair on her chin and chest in an interview with Real Simple published Thursday.

?I have a chin hair and I have a boob hair ? I would say it?s as long as my pinky finger,? she said while promoting her partnership with self-care brand PosheEra.

?It?s like, ?Where are you coming from all of a sudden; you were not there yesterday.? The one that I have on my chin is hard; it?s hanging on for dear life. If I come with a tweezer, when I pull it out, it?s a whole tree trunk!? she continued with a laugh.

?It?s strange what happens with age. All of a sudden, you have hairs growing out of various places.?

Elsewhere in the interview, the model ? who doesn?t shy away from flaunting her figure ? shared the secret behind her continued confidence as she ages, telling the outlet that she got it from her mama, Erna Klum.

?My mom said you have to be happy with the person you see in the mirror; you live your life with you, and if you?re not happy with you, it?s hard to be happy with anything thats happening outside of you. I think our confidence gets better with age,? Klum shared.

?I just did a campaign with my mom?she?s 81. I look at her, and I?m like, ?Dang it, I hope I?m going to look like this at 80.? I?m not very critical on myself,? she explained.

Outside of her confident demeanor, the ?Project Runway? star said she tries ?to be positive? and is ?thankful for every day that I have.?

Klum showed off that fierce attitude last November when she slammed critics who made negative comments about her skin-baring fashion choices.

?I?m not shy about my femininity,? she said at the time.

?I love dressing up where I have my cleavage showing, wearing miniskirts, high heels, gorgeous stockings ? but that doesn?t mean I want to go home with you.?

[From Page Six]

I sure hope confidence gets better with age ? something has to make up for those stray hairs! I am REDACTED years younger than Heidi, and even I battle coarse hairs popping up in the places Heidi describes. And yes, by that I mean my boob. Singular, because it?s the same little f?ker who repeatedly shows up only on my right boob (which I guess is stage left boob for those looking at me). Please believe me when I say that I will check the spot routinely (in a way that is neither creepy nor obsessive, I swear) for the slightest sign of growth, to nip it in the bud before it even gets to sprouting. But over and over and over again, I see NOTHING for weeks until BAM! And overnight I have a hair that?s of course now easily spotted given its at least an inch long with a hue that?s the polar opposite of my skin tone. Mother Nature, why do you hate your daughters?!

Anyway, Heidi is being a good spokeswoman by having this conversation.

Julianne Moore slams Trump admin for banning her children's book
Another day, another inexplicably ridiculous decision by the Trump Administration. This time, we?re talking about childrens books. As a part of their attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Department of Defense has been ?restricting access? to ?books and learning materials? that have anything to do with subjects like immigration, psychology, and a host of different subjects ?trigger words? that scare the administration. While they haven?t gone full DeSantis and banned these books from all public schools yet, they are no longer permitted at any Pentagon-run schools.

One of these ?restricted? books is Julianne Moore?s 2007 children?s book, ?Freckleface Strawberry.? Julianne?s book tells the story of a little girl who is conscientious about having freckles, but in the end learns to accept them because everyone is different. Naturally, Julianne is upset and spoke out about it on Instagram over the weekend.

It is a great shock for me to learn that my first book, Freckleface Strawberry, has been banned by the Trump Administration from schools run by the Department of Defense, Moore began her Sunday Instagram post. Freckleface Strawberry is a semi-autobiographical story about a seven year old girl who dislikes her freckles but eventually learns to live with them when she realizes that she is different just like everybody else.'

She continued, It is a book I wrote for my children and for other kids to remind them that we all struggle, but are united by our humanity and our community.

Moore, the daughter of a Vietnam veteran and graduate of the Department of Defense-run Frankfurt American High School, added she is particularly devastated that kids like me, growing up with a parent in the service and attending a [DoDEA] school, will not have access to a book written by someone whose life experience is so similar to their own.

The first of Moores Freckleface Strawberry books hit shelves in 2007 and followed its 7-year-old protagonist as she learns to accept herself, red hair, freckles, and all. The things that make you different also make you, YOU, reads the official synopsis. The pre-school level picture book has spawned several sequels, including Freckleface Strawberry: Loose Tooth and Freckleface Strawberry and the Really Big Voice.

I can?t help but wonder what is so controversial about this picture book that causes it to be banned by the US Government, Moore continued in her post. I am truly saddened and never thought I would see this in a country where freedom of speech and expression is a constitutional right.

The actress went on to thank PEN America, a nonprofit that seeks to raise awareness for the protection of free expression in the United States and worldwide, for bringing this to my attention.

Last week, the organization condemned the Trump administration for purging books ? such as Moores ? from Department of Defense schools that serve 67,000 children around the world. Other banned books include the Ruth Bader Ginsburg picture book No Truth Without Ruth and transgender activist Nicole Maines memoir, Becoming Nicole.

The removal of these titles is yet another indicator of the new Administrations flippant and autocratic approach to K-12 education, read a Thursday post from PEN America.

[From Entertainment Weekly]

I want to say that this is truly the stupidest timeline, but it?s actually a pretty sad one. We know that the DOGE firings blanket-targeted anyone labeled ?probationary,? while the NSF and NIH funding cuts targeted any research that used words like ?diverse? and ?women.? I have no doubt that Julianne?s book was just caught in the crossfire, but this is ridiculous. It?s just really sad when an 18-year-old picture book about accepting yourself is deemed too woke. And also, not for nothing, but like Julianne said, she wrote it from her experience as a military child. Military children tend to move around a lot, which can be difficult on school-aged kids. It?s cruel to ban books that may help them fit in more with their peers. Hopefully, Julianne speaking out about this as a public figure will make people more aware of whats going on.

Millie Bobby Brown: 'Loving someone and being in love are two different things'
2024 was a busy year for Millie Bobby Brown. Her movie, Damsel came out on Netflix last March, she got married to Jake Bongiovi in mid-May, went viral for a bit she did with Sabrina Carpenter during the Short n? Sweet tour, and finished filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things in December. Next up for MBB is The Electric State, another Netflix movie that?s directed by the Russo Brothers (not to be confused with ST?s the Duffer Brothers) and co-stars Chris Pratt. The Electric State is based on the 2018 graphic novel by Simon Stlenhag that takes place in a post-apocalyptic America. It drops on March 14.

Millie has the cover story for Vanity Fair?s March 2025 issue. Given her very eventful year, Millie had a lot to talk about. She talked about her marriage, the difficulties of making friends as a famous person, how the press treated her when she was a child star and more. You can read the full article here, but here are some highlights courtesy of JustJared.

On the effect negative and invasive press has had on her growing up: ?I started this really young, and I felt that the press specifically was very, very harsh on me. And so I just like to make sure that I?m advocating for myself?I think, just in general, there should be more laws with the media in terms of paparazzi in terms of exploitation.?

On fame: ?I never wanted to be famous? That was never my thing. I just love acting.?

On deleting social media from her phone at the age of 18: ?I was like, Oh my goodness, this is making me feel horrible about myself?I deleted it because I was becoming way too obsessed with the idea of becoming someone else.?

On her parents protecting her in the entertainment industry: ?I grew up with a lot of eyes on my parents, but I feel that those were the people that protected me the most.?

On struggling with friendships: ?I don?t have many friends, because of who I am?I didn?t go to school, so I don?t have the best social skills when it comes to people my own age and friendships. I struggle with that quite a bit. I missed out on a few things. But I?m working through them.?

On the message she sent to Sabrina Carpenter ahead of her concert to ?arrest? her during the show: ?Can you arrest me?? To which Sabrina responded: ?I would love to arrest you.?

On implementing her own adolescent confusion into the identity of her character, Eleven: ?Eleven?s identity was a huge thing that we were kind of fighting with. Is she going to dress as a girl? Or is she gonna dress in the shirts of her adoptive father, Hopper? Or is she gonna be what her friends are helping her to be? At that time in my life, I didn?t know what I wanted to look like, if I preferred more feminine looks, more masculine looks, more androgynous, more grunge. So I implemented that confusion.?

On crying while filming the final season of Stranger Things: ?I was on set, and I was like, ?Well, I have one more day left.? And I started crying. I don?t actually like to cry at work. I?m a really emotional person, but I try to stay super strong. It made me feel so uncomfortable. Jake was like, ?It?s good, you have to get it out!? and I just started welling up.?

On the trad wife trend and living on a farm in Georgia: ?I?m not doing it for the aesthetic?I?m doing it because I love it. There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not. If you?re not picking up horse s?t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.?

On her relationship with Jake Bongiovi: ?We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we?re looking for, the kind of careers we want. It?s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.?

On what she has learned so far in their marriage: ?Loving someone and being in love are two different things?I think I loved a lot of people I was with, like I loved my friends. But he is the first man I?ve ever loved and been in love with. If we?re not fully invested, then what?s the point? We have to be, and we always have been.?

[From JustJared]

I?m really impressed by Millie?s responses. The answer about the reality of being a ?trad wife? on a farm made me laugh. I don?t have TikTok but I once went down a rabbithole about the trad wife farm thing after seeing a leftie influencer post about it online. Anyway, I really love that she points out that there is a difference between loving someone and being in love. That is something a lot of women struggle to differentiate. It?s also great that she specifically mentioned that she and Jake talked about politics, kids, the type of relationship they?re each looking for, etc. I always assumed that was what everyone did but social media has taught me that its not. Let?s normalize this for the young women in Millie?s generation.

I was worried about her after Stranger Things took off and we heard how demanding her father was as her manager. She seems to have grown up to be relatively grounded, and that makes me happy.
