Olivia Rodrigo is still going strong on her Guts World Tour, and her latest stop saw her headline the Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC on Saturday. Thankfully, there have been no reports of Olivia falling through a hole in the stage. Instead it was the audience who was treated to an unexpected moment, when she brought out 80s punk rocker and former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne to the stage for the pair to perform his classic hit, ?Burning Down the House.? Surprise! I mean, he?s no Pesto. But I guess a guest appearance by David Byrne is pretty cool, lol. (To be clear: yes, I?m joking!) Clad in complementary red outfits, both artists looked like they were having a whole lotta fun singing and doing their choreography in sync. And the audience sure seemed into it too:
Pop star Olivia Rodrigo, 22, has excellent taste in music.
The Bad Idea singer, a former Disney Channel star and current Taylor Swift bestie, recently bridged the generational gap between modern pop and ?90s legends by bringing Talking Heads frontman David Byrne on stage. The duo not only danced in sync?they twinned in matching red outfits, sending the audience into what fans called a ?fever dream.? Fans couldn?t get enough of the ?unexpected duo,? with Byrne fans giving respect to the young Driver?s License signer for sharing the stage with the iconic rocker.
Rodrigo was headlining Saturday?s Governors Ball Music Festival when she surprised the crowd by bringing Byrne onstage. Much to the audience?s delight, the 73-year-old music legend arrived wearing bright red overalls that matched Rodrigo?s all-red bra and shorts set. The energetic pair danced (and ran) in unison while belting out Burning Down the House.
Fans loved seeing two generations of music stars unite onstage. In a video shared on social media, one fan wrote, ?I love how she gives props to all my music idols!! David Byrne is the coolest,? while another added, ?I love it,? in reaction to the unexpected collaboration.
Burning Down the House was originally released in 1983 and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Olivia Rodrigo was born in 2003.
[From Parade]
Oh, bless Parade. This excerpt was actually the entire article, but they packed a lot into those 221 words! Starting with the last line: the no-fuss reporting of ?Burning Down the House? being released 20 years before Olivia?s birth was hilarious. Next, I would not call David and Olivia?s outfits ?twinning,? and even ?matched? is a little strong. They were the same color, that?s the end of the similarities! David sported red overalls with a white tee underneath, looking like Super Mario?s Scottish cousin. Olivia, meanwhile, was wearing hot pants (or briefs, really) and a bra top. If David had actually twinned with her tour costume, the headlines coming out of the concert would?ve taken on a whole new tone, is all I?m saying! But the best, most quietly juicy nugget, is the line at the top describing Olivia as a ?current Taylor Swift bestie.? Never has the word ?current? carried so much weight!
Anyway, this was a charming move on Olivia?s part, to extend the invitation to David. Reminded me of when she joined Billy Joel onstage at his Madison Square Garden concert in 2022 to sing ?Uptown Girl.? Not all the youngin?s are as well versed in music history, so it?s nice that she welcomes it into her performances so graciously. And I can?t help it, David Byrne working so earnestly to hit all the dance steps was just plain adorkable. You can see it written all over his face!

| Kristin Chenoweth wants to host SNL: 'I?ve never been asked, but I watch it religiously' | Added 78 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The first trailer for Wicked: For Good dropped last week, and the Tony Awards happened on Sunday, so it seems like a good time to check in with Kristin Chenoweth. The munchkin-sized Good Witch of the East Coast is gearing up to make a grand return to Broadway this fall for the first time in 10 years ? how has she been away that long?! In the meantime, proud dog mom Kristin also has a fun new gig as ?The Enrichment Witch? for Nom Nom dog food. (See how much you can accomplish when you get up after 11am!) From what I?ve seen of both projects, they are fun and funny and campy as all get out. So it?s not all that surprising to hear that something high on Kristin?s career bucket list is hosting SNL. She says she watches the show ?religiously? (and I don?t think she uses that word lightly) and has sketch ideas to bring to the table. So what?s the hold up, Lorne?
?SNL,? Chenoweth tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, referring to Saturday Night Live, when asked about what?s still left for her to do. ?I?ve never been asked, but I watch it religiously, and I just think they?re so talented.?
Noting that she has ?a lot of respect for sketch comedians,? the star ? who is working with Nom Nom for the pet food company?s ?Make Mealtime Magical? campaign ? continues, ?I love comedy, and that?s where I?m most comfortable. I even have ideas if I ever got asked to come on.?
Adds Chenoweth: ?I used to think, ?It?s never going to happen,? but then Betty White got asked, and I thought, ?Well, maybe I?ll get asked before I die.?? (White, who died at age 99 in 2021, became the oldest person to host SNL at the age of 88 in March 2010.)
Chenoweth is known for her triple-threat abilities in various projects across theater, television, film and music.
She made her foray in the entertainment industry through her Broadway debut in Steel Pier in 1997. Two years later, Chenoweth won a Tony Award for her role in You?re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and in 2003, she originated the Tony-nominated role of Glinda in Wicked. Her other Broadway credits include The Apple Tree in 2006, Promises, Promises in 2010 and On the Twentieth Century in 2015, which earned her a third Tony Award nomination.
Her television roles include, but are not limited to, Glee, Trial & Error, Schmigadoon!, The West Wing, GCB and Pushing Daisies, the latter of which earned her an Emmy win. In terms of film roles, Chenoweth has starred in movies such as Bewitched, The Pink Panther, RV, Descendants, The Peanuts Movie and Our Little Secret.
As for music, Chenoweth has released various albums over the years, starting with 2001?s Let Yourself Go. She is also a New York Times bestselling author.
Alongside her aspirations to host SNL, Chenoweth tells PEOPLE she would also love to lead a horror film.
?Something with Blumhouse,? she explains, referring to the production company behind various thriller franchises, including Paranormal Activity, Insidious and The Purge.
?I?d love to play like a killer that no one expects. That?d be fun,? Chenoweth adds with a sly grin. ?It would be something that people wouldn?t see coming. I love the horror genre, suspense, anything like that.?
[From People]
Well, I too would like to see Kristin play against type and be the killer no one sees coming. Except now that she?s said it I fear she may have ruined the suspense ? we will see her coming! Which is why I propose Kristin scratches that horror itch by bringing that energy to her SNL brainstorming session (seriously, Lorne, call her!). And with that, it is my great pleasure to remind you all of Halloween 2023, when Ms. Chenoweth showed up to rehearsals dressed and possessed as the M3GAN doll. Brilliant. She nailed the look, the physicality, and again, the camp of it all. Ball?s in your court, SNL. But they?ll have to time it just right with Kristin?s schedule demands around her upcoming Broadway return. The Queen of Versailles (not old French history, recent Florida history) begins previews in October, and reunites Kristin with Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz. Honestly, the show had me hooked with the poster image of Kristin: floofy dog in one hand, iced soda in the other.

| Katie Holmes wore Prada at the Tony Awards: one of the worst looks of the night? | Added 79 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This is nowhere near a comprehensive fashion list for last night?s Tony Awards, I?m just trying to highlight some of the best or worst fashion moments from people I recognized! I covered George Clooney?s appearance separately go here to see. Katie Holmes went to the Tonys in this two-piece Prada ensemble. In my opinion, the house of Prada has issues and this is a glaring example of those issues. They have color issues they put funky colors together and when they do bicolor or tricolor looks, it?s always jarring. The top part of this is also just? awful, it?s like a wrinkled sack.
Nicole Scherzinger surprised everyone by winning her first Tony Award for Sunset Boulevard, beating out Audra McDonald in Gypsy. It was also a surprise because Nicole?s time on Broadway has been marred by some off-Broadway gossip, like her coziness with MAGA. She wore a custom Rodarte, which looked lovely (albeit slightly dated).
Cynthia Erivo was the Tonys host, and she had a lot of outfit changes. She wore this Schiaparelli look for the red carpet. Eh.
Sarah Snook won her first Tony! Her gown was Richard Quinn.
Michelle Williams wore Bibhu Mohapatra I LOVE the skirt. I feel like the top could have been different?
Sarah Paulson wore Schiaparelli as well this is so ?1950s.?
Bonus Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. Keanu practically got a lapdance from Jonathan Groff!

| George Clooney got shut out of the Tony Awards & Amal wore Tamara Ralph | Added 79 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

In retrospect, it?s really funny how Amal Clooney completely avoided being photographed with her husband in the months where he had a terrible dye job. George Clooney dyed his hair black to play Edward R. Murrow in the stage adaptation of Good Night and Good Luck, and he spent months wandering around New York looking like Lurch. Amal avoided his Lurch Era, but she?s come back now that the show is over and his hair is almost back to its normal grey. These are photos of the Clooneys last night at the Tony Awards. He told People Mag that Amal was ?the happiest person? when he went back to grey. All of the dyed hair isn?t gone though, and now he really looks like he?s wearing a bad rug.
The Clooneys attended the Tony Awards because George was nominated for Best Actor and GNAGL was nominated in the Best Play category. Somewhat hilariously, the Tonys completely shut out GNAGL. Good. George has lost the plot, and during his turn on Broadway, he was an active participant in Jake Tapper?s anti-Biden bullsh-t. CNN was shilling hard for Clooney as well, airing GNAGL and pretending like it was some bold decision to do so. George deserves a lot worse than being shut out of the Tonys, but I?ll take this.
As for Amal, her dress is Tamara Ralph. Amal showcased the dress terribly, slouching over, shoulders slumped, twisting herself in knots to not tower over George. The dress itself is okayish, I guess the pearl detailing is lovely, but the look is very bridal. I feel like the length of the dress was a weird choice too.

| Dakota Johnson & Chris Martin split because of the 'age gap' & she wanted a baby' | Added 82 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Dakota Johnson on Thursday in New York. She was leaving the Greenwich Hotel, en route to 30 Rock to appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers. I don?t have the ID on her dress here, but her bag is Gucci (she?s a Gucci ambassador). This is how you turn up post-breakup too leggy, well-rested and fabulous. Dakota?s in NYC this week to promote The Materialists, which looks like such a good rom-dramedy. As many pointed out, Dakota?s team was likely the source of People Magazine?s exclusive about Dakota?s split from Chris Martin. She?s in promotional mode she doesn?t want a million questions about Chris Martin either way, so they just got that news out there ahead of her press events. Well, Page Six had a different exclusive about the breakup and what was really behind it:
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin reportedly split after nearly eight years together ? for two reasons. The ?Fifty Shades of Grey? actress, 35, and the Coldplay frontman, 48, called it quits because of their age gap and the topic of having children, a source told the US Sun.
?Dakota has been desperate for her and Chris to work out for years, and every time they broke up she was devastated and in tears,? the insider stated. ?Even some of Dakota?s team would have to console her when they were apart and she could never move on. She really loves him and his children, and he deeply loves her, but things were just never lining up for them and it was very up and down.?
?They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem. She?d [also] expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life.?
The source told the outlet that Johnson and Martin had been ?back and forth on issues for years? and had discussions about everything, including children.
?They made some beautiful memories as a family and it?ll be hard for both of them to move on after such a long relationship but they will do it,? the insider claimed.
[From Page Six]
My tip for Chris Martin is? if you?re done with having kids, maybe stop messing around with such young girlfriends? Chris started dating Dakota when she was 27-ish. Over the course of their eight-year relationship, of course they discussed having kids and what they really wanted. He was really wasting her time if he?s known all along that he didn?t want any more kids. Anyway, I?ve really started to root for Dakota, and I hope she stays booked and busy. I hope she finds some guy who adores her and treats her like a princess, because I don?t think Chris was like that at all.

| Parker Posey felt like she was 'gaslit' into believing she couldn't do studio films | Added 82 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Years ago, one of the actresses who came up in the 1990s said the biggest difference between Hollywood then and now was that women are finally getting credit for putting projects together and producing their own stuff. I was reminded of that as I read through Parker Posey?s interview on the Smartless podcast. I?m surprised Parker even went on this podcast, but I?ve been pleasantly surprised by all of Parker?s moves in the past year. She grabbed that amazing role on The White Lotus and now she?s doing the most with her career resurgence. It?s well-deserved Parker is an icon. In the Smartless pod, she talked about how she used to be typecast as an ?indie queen? and gaslit into believing that she couldn?t do studio films.
Parker Posey is opening up about the challenges she faced when making the jump from indie films to studio movies earlier in her career. The White Lotus star made a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, where she was asked for her reaction to being labeled the ?indie queen? in the ?90s, thanks to her iconic roles in Party Girl, Flirt, Dazed and Confused and The Daytrippers. However, Posey admitted that it actually hindered her from getting roles in major studio projects.
?I felt like I was called a name, in a way,? she explained. ?My path was more like, ?Oh, [The Daytrippers director] Greg Mottola did a reading of his movie that he was trying to get financed,? and then I introduced him to Liev Schreiber who was in Party Girl, and then we do The Daytrippers a year later. It was such a community back then. I felt like right when I got exposed, and the whole indie movement got exposed, it also got co-opted by the studio system, and then it became this other thing. All of a sudden, I wasn?t viable to get a movie financed, and it was such a head trip because I would have to audition for Hollywood movies when I?d carried the lead in independent movies that were shot in 23 days.?
Looking back, Posey believes she was ?gaslit? into thinking she wasn?t on the same playing field as other notable Hollywood names. Posey has previously spoken about losing out on big roles to Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock, such as 1994?s Speed, which ultimately saw Bullock land the role of Annie, because she was ?too indie.?
?[I would say], ?I can promise I can memorize these lines in the script, and we?ll have a blast, trust me!?? She added. ?So I had, like, a good 20 years of that after, and then working with great auteurs and doing these [films], not getting paid a lot, but being able to work and fulfill my creativity.?
[From THR]
This sounds similar to Chloe Sevigny?s experience, right? Chloe leaned into the indie thing, but she also openly pursued television work to pay the bills because studios were not interested in her whatsoever. With Parker, it feels like it was worse than typecasting though they really just didn?t want to hire someone with her ?indie queen? profile, they didn?t think she was ?viable,? even though she was clearly putting together projects and enough of a name to get indie films financed. And it?s also crazy because she was legitimately proving to everyone that she was a leading lady and a fantastic actress. When I watched her in The White Lotus, I felt sort of sad that she hasn?t been giving those kinds of fantastic performances every year because people didn?t have enough imagination to hire her.

| Keanu Reeves' girlfriend Alexandra Grant wore a diamond ring at the Ballerina premiere | Added 83 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I love the John Wick movies. The latest movie in the franchise comes out this Friday, June 6. From the World of John Wick: Ballerina stars Ana De Armas as ballerina assassin Eve Macarro (originally portrayed by Unity Phelan in the 3rd movie). It follows her through her training with The Director, played by Angelica Huston. It?s a spin-off that takes place in between the third and fourth JW movies. Keanu Reeves is still in it! It?s also *sob* Lance Reddick?s final film appearance.
At the LA Ballerina premiere Keanu walked the red carpet with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant. They held hands and looking amazing. Keanu wore a well-fitting dark-gray suit. Alexandra wore a gorgeous red dress with a plunging neckline and accessorized with a gold clutch and sparkly silver heels. The ruffle on the neckline is really fun, too.
They also sparked engagement rumors because Alexandra is wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger. (You cant really see it in these pics.) Whether it was an engagement ring or not, it was also a gorgeous accessory.
Ana De Armas was wearing a custom Louis Vuitton gown. I didnt like it at first, but the purple color grew on me. It?s very mid-90s Gwyneth-coded.
Catalina Sandino Moreno was in Paolo Sebastian. I think it?s very pretty on her, but it kind of reminds me of the Snow Queen Goes to Hollywood. The beaded detailing on the top is so pretty.
Gabriel Byrne was also there wearing a suit in a really nice shade of blue. I have no problem with the classic gray or black suit, but I really love when men go for a non-traditional color.

| Angelina Jolie is 'genuinely excited about turning 50?: 'Her 40s were rough' | Added 83 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Angelina Jolie celebrated her 50th birthday this week she shares the same June 4th birthday with another Gemini queen, Princess Lilibet. There was surprisingly little birthday energy for Angelina, and I suspect that was what she wanted. Many celebrities throw big bashes for their 50th, inviting all of their Hollywood friends to a party and organizing ?fabulous at 50? articles and interviews. I?m just saying, that?s exactly what Jennifer Aniston did in 2019. So Angelina went a different route just a couple of stories in People Mag about how she wants a quiet birthday, and that?s about it.
Angelina Jolie just turned 50, but dont expect her to throw a major party to celebrate.
A source close to Jolie, who reached her milestone birthday on June 4, tells PEOPLE that while the Oscar winner seems genuinely excited and happy about turning 50, she doesnt want a big party. Instead, the insider says the Maria actress will opt for a more intimate celebration with her six children: Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 18; Knox, 16 and Vivienne, also 16.
So much of her 40s were rough. She?s in a much better place now, the source continues of Jolie, who reached a divorce settlement with ex Brad Pitt in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle. The kids are amazing and thriving. There is less family drama.
Jolie stepped back into movies in 2024 with her Maria Callas biopic on Netflix, which marked her first acting role since she starred in 2021s Those Who Wish Me Dead and Marvels Eternals. Last year, she also debuted her first movie as a director since 2017, Without Blood, which world premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Her sons Maddox and Pax worked on the movies set, and Salma Hayek Pinault starred.
The prominent humanitarian also won her first Tony Award in 2024 for producing the new musical The Outsiders. Her daughter Vivienne worked as a volunteer assistant on the production.
A separate insider tells PEOPLE that Jolie is embracing the idea of turning 50 and feels more grounded than ever on her birthday.
[From People]
I?ll never get over how many predictions there were that Angelina?s kids would be maladjusted basketcases. As it turns out, her kids are completely fine they all have different interests and passions, Maddox went to college, Zahara is at Spelman, Shiloh?s starting her career as a choreographer/dancer, Vivienne worked on a Tony Award-winning production, and on and on. It definitely seems like all of those kids loathe Brad, and all of them are super-close to Angelina. ?So much of her 40s were rough? true. She filed for divorce from Brad when she was 41 years old, and lets face it, the marriage and relationship was already in a bad place before that 2016 flight from hell.

| Dakota Johnson & Chris Martin broke up again: 'It feels final this time' | Added 83 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
In retrospect, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have always been a more dramatic and mercurial couple, it?s just that they?re both so good at being private that most people never realized how dramatic it all was. Dakota and Chris started seeing each other eight years ago. They got engaged circa 2020, but they never managed to get down the aisle. They also seemingly broke up multiple times over the course of eight years, and they recently split up again. People Mag?s exclusive said this split sounds like the big one, the final one.
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have broken up, ending their nearly eight-year, on-off relationship, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.
It feels final this time, one source said of the split. Reps for the stars did not respond to PEOPLEs requests for comment.
The Materialists actress, 35, and the Coldplay singer, 48, who were first romantically linked in 2017, were photographed together two weeks ago when they stepped out in Malibu together on May 16. Before that, in January, the pair held hands in India, where Martin was touring with his band.
In March 2024, an insider told PEOPLE that Johnson and Martin had actually been engaged for ?years? after first sparking engagement rumors in 2020, though they were in no rush to get married at the time.
[From People]
Even if it was off-and-on, eight years together is no joke. I didn?t even realize that this had been happening for so long. There are barely any photos of them together too. I know some of that is Dakota?s call, but Chris was the same way with Gwyneth and Annabelle Wallis. I?ve always thought that it must be so difficult to be in a relationship with a guy who is terrified of being seen with you in public. At some point, don?t you just want a partnership where you can hold hands and walk down the street together? At some point, don?t you want your partner to make the effort to come out and support you at your work events? That?s never been Chris though. I?m not saying that?s why they broke up I have no idea but it must have been difficult for Dakota. Anyway, I hope that for her next boyfriend, Dakota bags a hottie who wants to hold her hand.

| Brooke Shields says she interrupted 'too precious' Duchess Meghan at SXSW | Added 84 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
In March 2024, the Duchess of Sussex made an appearance at the SXSW Festival. She was invited to participate in a panel discussion for International Women?s Day. Brooke Shields and Katie Couric were also on the panel. Honestly, there was so much going on in March 2024, I don?t think I even watched the video of the panel discussion at the time (and I still won?t). Apparently, at one point in the discussion, Brooke Shields interrupted Meghan when Meghan was retelling the story of getting Procter & Gamble to change their sexist commercial. Brooke was asked about that moment in a podcast interview, and she said she interrupted Meghan because Meg was being ?too precious? and ?serious.?
Brooke Shields shared candid remarks about Meghan Markle after the two participated in a panel about womens empowerment last year, calling the Duchess of Sussex too precious. While appearing on the latest episode of India Hicks podcast, Shields said Meghans story was too serious, and she didnt think her words would resonate with the SXSW audience.
Katie asks the first question to Meghan and she talks about how at a young age, she was already advocating for women, Shields said, per The Independent. She starts telling a story about how when she was 11 ? and she keeps saying, ?Well, when I was 11, I saw this commercial and they were talking about how washing dishes was for women, Shields told Hicks, who is King Charles? goddaughter. And she said, ?I didn?t think only women wash dishes. It wasn?t fair. So I wrote to the company. She kept saying she was 11! She wrote to the company, they changed the text, they changed the commercial. It was just too precious, and I was like, they?re not going to want to sit here for 45 minutes and listen to anybody be precious or serious.
The Mother of the Bride star told Hicks she then interrupted Meghan to try and lighten the tone.
?I go, ?Excuse me, I?m so sorry, I?ve got to interrupt you there for one minute.? I was trying not to be rude, but I wanted to be funny because it was so serious,? Shields said.
She then joked to the panel, I just want to give everybody here a context as to how we?re different. When I was 11, I was playing a prostitute, referring to her role in 1978s Pretty Baby.
Shields said ?the place went insane after her quip, and the panel was ?more relaxed after.
[From People]
I think multiple things can be true at once: Brooke?s interruption probably did lighten the mood of the panel; Brooke interrupted and talked over a woman of color on International Women?s Day, with fking sucks; Brooke was centering herself like a narcissistic ahole; Meghan was being a tad repetitive. I also think Meghan?s vibe is so teachery, especially since she?s had kids. The only way I can explain it is that you can tell that she spends a lot of time talking to people under the age of 5. Also: what in the world is Brooke doing on India Hicks? podcast? No wonder the conversation turned to Meghan.
Here?s the full video of the SXSW panel discussion. You can skip to the 6:15-mark to see Couric ASK Meghan specifically about the commercial, and Meghan answering the question. Brookes interruption happens around the 7:20 mark.
