| Megyn Kelly: 'Conclave' is 'the most disgusting anti-Catholic film I have seen in a long time' | Added 232 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

 Major spoilers for Conclave.
I was so excited to see Conclave, I actually went to the theater to watch it right when it came out. Money and time well spent Conclave is one of my favorite films of the year, and I believe it?s a major awards contender. Most people believe it will be shortlisted for the Best Picture Oscar, and many awards-prognosticators predict that Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rossellini will pick up Oscar nominations. From what I?ve seen, there hasn?t been a larger cultural conversation about Conclave, I think because people don?t want to ?spoil? the ending, the big reveal about the new pope. Stop reading now if you haven?t seen it yet and you want to be surprised!
So, it turns out that Megyn Kelly did not see Conclave in the theater. She waited to rent it or stream it, and she watched it over the weekend. She hated it, and she got on Twitter to bitch about it, and she spoiled the big reveal:
Just made the huge mistake of watching the much-celebrated ?Conclave? & it is the most disgusting anti-Catholic film I have seen in a long time. Shame on Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci & John Lithgow for starring in it & shame on director Edward Berger (among others). ?Spoiler:? They make THE POPE INTERSEX! This is the big exciting twist at the end. I wish I had known so I wouldn?t have watched it. There are almost no redeeming characters in the movie every cardinal is morally bankrupt/repulsive. The only exception of course is the intersex pope (who surprise! has female reproductive parts) & the cardinal who keeps her secret bc of course that kind of Catholic secret-keeping must be lionized. I?m disgusted. What a thing to release to streaming just in time for Christmas. They would never do this to Muslims, but Christians/Catholics are always fair game to mock/belittle/smear.
[From Megyn Kelly]
?There are almost no redeeming characters in the movie every cardinal is morally bankrupt/repulsive.? Almost as if the Catholic Church is run by flawed men who are hungry for power and drawn to authority over women and children. Honestly, that was what Conclave was mostly about all of the cardinals are flawed, some of them more than others. Some are racist, some have broken their vows, some are too politically active for their own good, and some are just bad at playing politics. Some are more progressive, some are bordering on fascist. Conclave plays out like a mystery, with Ralph Fiennes?s cardinal acting as the Poirot/Miss Marple trying to figure out what various cardinals are really up to. By the time we get to the end, the person who is elected pope is lovely, but he also has a secret: he?s intersex and he had no idea until well into adulthood.
Megyn posted her hissy fit on Sunday, hours before the Golden Globes. Conclave?s screenwriter Peter Straughan won a Golden Globe, and he was asked about Kelly?s comments. Straughan said, in part: ?I don?t think the film is anti-Catholic. I was brought up Catholic. I was an altar boy. I think the core message of ?Conclave? is about the church always having to re-find its spiritual core, because it deals so much with power. That?s always been a careful, difficult balance. To me, that was a very central Catholic ideal that I was brought up with. I stand by it.? Plus, he just adapted it from the book!

| Elle Fanning vs. Dakota Fanning: which sister had the best Golden Globes look? | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I know I?m making this a comparison post, but here?s a spoiler: I thought both Fanning sisters looked great at the Golden Globes! Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning went to the Globes separately to promote different projects Elle was supporting A Complete Unknown, and Dakota was nominated for her supporting role in the Ripley miniseries. I usually think Elle has better style than her sister, but last night, they both killed it.
Elle wore a Balmain ballgown I thought at first that this was genuinely vintage, but no, it?s a new Balmain based on a vintage look. I?m a tacky B so I love an animal print, and this animal print was so well done. It saved the gown from looking too precious and princessy.
As for Dakota, I?ve seen three different IDs on this beautiful red dress it?s Versace, or Tony Ward or Dolce & Gabbana. You choose! It looks more like Versace to me, but I?ve been wrong before (and a lot of designers look like Versace these days). She did a perfect red lip with the dress too.

| Demi Moore wore Armani to pick up her first major award at the Golden Globes | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Was anyone else surprised by Demi Moore?s Golden Globe win? She won the Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for The Substance. First of all, The Substance isn?t a comedy or a musical. Second of all, The Substance is awful. Once I saw it, I could not believe that it was getting so much awards-season attention. While Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley do the best they can with the material, the film takes an interesting concept and then drives it off a fking cliff for the last hour.
All of which to say, I was surprised that Demi won a Globe. She really gave a barn-burner speech though, and it?s remarkable to think that in Demi?s long and well-documented career, this is the first time she?s ever picked up a major award. While she was prepared for the moment with a big speech, I was meh on her style. She wore a champagne-colored Armani. It wasn?t flattering?
Margaret Qualley, Demi?s ?other half,? wore Chanel to the Globes. I like this, and she?s always in Chanel. This is actually one of the better Chanel looks in recent years, right?
Tilda Swinton also wore Chanel very fancy.

| Kristen Bell wore Ashi to the 2025 Golden Globes: liquid elegance? | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kristen Bell bugs me a lot. I think its her tendency to overshare coupled with her terrible I dont see color childrens book. I have to give her props though for her excellent Ashi metallic gown last night, if not for her severe styling. Kristen was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, for her work in Netflixs Nobody Wants This. A lot of people watched that, but I avoided it because I cant stand her. Maybe Ill get over that.
Jean Smart won in that category for Hacks. Hacks also took home Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy. This is Jeans second Globe. She was in Rhea Costa. Queen.

| Miley Cyrus wore Celine & sunglasses to the Golden Globes: fine or annoying? | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Miley Cyrus went to the Golden Globes as a nominee she was nominated in Best Song, for ?Beautiful That Way? from The Last Showgirl. Miley stayed true to herself, I guess, and wore this Celine dress which seemed slightly undercooked for the Globes. And yet, props to her for putting together a real look and not making an ass out of herself. Personally, I still haven?t gotten over her (alleged) buccal fat removal, which changed her face in a huge way. But other than that, she looks healthy and focused.
Ariana Debose looked like the movie star she is at the Golden Globes she wore a dramatic Oscar de la Renta which was perfect for her at this moment classy, elegant, but not too ?look at me? because she wasn?t a nominee this year.
Pamela Anderson also wore Oscar de la Renta I saw her interview on E!, and she was just so honored to be nominated and invited to the show. She?s a really gentle soul, so I?m not going to say much about her dress. I will say that I love how her sons always have their mom?s back no matter what.

| Keira Knightley in Chanel at the 2025 Golden Globes: too fussy or fashionable? | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw were so good in Black Doves, but I thought the series was lacking somehow. It needed more kick assery and less lovelorn pining. Plus it was so dark visuallly, like I could barely make out some of the scenes. It turns out that was a setting on Netflix I figured out after I squinted through the whole thing. Oh well. If you want to see an amazing spy/assassin show, watch Day of The Jackal with Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch! Thats worth subscribing to Peacock for.
Keira wore a Chanel empire waist sequin, velvet and feather gown that I would like better without the dippy bown at the top. She looks effortlessly luxurious though, theres something so fashionable about her. It might be how tall and whispy she is. I also really like her blunt cut. As I mentioned earlier today, Im so tempted to chop my hair into a bob, but I dont know how versatile that would be. Im thinking about it! Kerry was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series, Drama, for Black Doves. That category went to Anna Sawai for Shogun.
Keri Russell seems like shes nominated for something just about every year. I guess she just picks prestige projects. She was also nominated in this category, for The Diplomat. Keri wore a giant white Stephane Rolland zoot suit dress. She takes a lot of risks with her fashion and they dont always pay off. To her credit, she does not seem to give a sh-t and I admire that about her.

| Emma Stone wore Louis Vuitton & showed off her new pixie cut at the Globes | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last year, Emma Stone shaved her head for yet another film with Yorgos Lanthimos, this one shooting in Europe. It?s called Bugonia, aka The One Where Emma Stone Shaved Her Head. Emma appeared on some red carpets last year, post-shave, and she wore wigs to hide her new look. But at the Golden Globes last night, Emma debuted the grow-out: a choppy pixie. While I?ll defend Emma for shaving her head for a film, I will never defend a pixie! NEVER. Oh well it will grow out. At least, I hope she?s in the process of growing it out. Her dress last night was Louis Vuitton. I actually like it?
Rachel Brosnahan in this green Vivienne Westwood dress was one of my favorite looks of the night. I love a redhead in a rich shade of green Julianne Moore has done this too and it always looks fantastic. The green pendant is lovely too.

| Nicole Kidman wore Balenciaga & big hair to the Globes: campy & fun? | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidman is so camp. Nicole was Golden Globe-nominated for Babygirl, so she turned up to the Globes in a sexy Balenciaga halter gown and Brigette Bardot hair. The hairpiece was so funny. It feels like Nicole is genuinely having a good time with this awards-season run, and that?s reflected in her style choices too.
Kerry Washington also wore Balenciaga. I know Kerry and her fashion choices are very popular, but I was not a fan of this look. The Barbie-core vibe feels dated, like she?s doing this a year too late. The actual dress standing apart from the black hose and gloves is not great, the taffeta looks stiff. Overall, far from her best look.
Ali Wong also wore Balenciaga we?ve seen this dress before on red carpets in different colors. I don?t mind the red, but the black gloves kind of downgrade the look, in my opinion.

| Anya Taylor Joy stunned in pink Dior, with Tiffany & Co jewels, at the 2025 Globes | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

People legitimately gasped when Anya Taylor Joy turned up on the Golden Globes red carpet. She just looked so other-worldly, and she also looked like a throwback to Old Hollywood. Dior made Anya a slinky, pale Pink bias-cut slipdress. The real stars of the look were the Tiffany & Co necklace and the matching wrap. Bring back wraps on the red carpet! Bring back pashminas! Anya reps Dior and Tiffany & Co, and you can really see why those brands love her.
Speaking of pretty princesses, Anna Sawai also got to wear a special Dior look. Dior kept it simple for Anna with this white two-piece gown. With that immaculate face, designers don?t have to do too much, you know? They can keep everything so basic to let her shine. The choker was an interesting choice, but I like it. She was so happy with her win for Shogun.

| Angelina Jolie & Zahara Jolie wore McQueen to the 2025 Golden Globes | Added 234 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

By the end of the Golden Globes red carpet, Angelina Jolie?s social battery was empty and she looked a bit burned out by all of the interviews. Still, I?m proud of her for doing the red carpet like the movie star she is, and doing all of those red carpet interviews. She brought Zahara Jolie as her date to the Globes, just as Zahara was with her in Palm Springs on Friday night. Zahara spent the whole weekend, wearing couture with mom.
Angelina and Zahara both wore McQueen and I?m really happy that they did. This has the feel of Angelina simply going to an atelier she trusts and asking them to make two gowns for her and Zahara, no muss no fuss. The McQueen people did right by her no sack dresses, no goth-girl looks. This silver dress looks so elegant and classy. Whoever did her hair swept back those fakakta bangs too. Zahara?s dress was lovely as well, and she looked like a princess. I think that out of all six kids, Zahara enjoys this the most getting dressed up and going to Hollywood events or premieres.
Unfortunately, Jolie lost Best Actress to Fernanda Torres in I?m Still Here, the Brazilian film which I have not seen (it?s been shortlisted on a lot of ?best films of 2024? lists though). Honestly, I kind of think Jolie?s Oscar campaign surged too early, and it will be a miracle if she actually gets an Oscar nomination. Notably, she was not nominated for a BAFTA and a lot of critics? associations have blanked her. The win, at this point, will be an Oscar nomination.
