I can’tremember the last time I got to doa post onMaria Menounos, which I guess shouldn’t be too surprising, considering I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast — years of sitting with my nose an inch from my computer screen has pretty much fried my brain. But withthe cleavage my favorite Greek hottie […]

| Carey Mulligan gave birth to a baby girl named Evelyn Mumford 3 weeks ago | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It?s slightly amusing to me to see that someone at the studio told Meryl Streep that she needs to take a big seat and not say anything else for a while. After Meryl took a big dump on feminism last week, the Suffragette producers must have been like, ?Well, this was unexpected. I guess Carey is going to have to do more.? These photos are from last night?s NYC premiere of Suffragette ? Meryl didn?t even come! It was just Carey Mulligan, really. Carey wore this Alexander McQueen dress which is? sort of boring, actually. It?s Sarah Burton-for-McQueen, so that explains it.
It?s amazing to see Carey out and about and hustling for this film considering she literally just gave birth a few weeks ago. All we know about when she gave birth was that it happened in September and it was probably mid-to-late September, considering she was begging off of an appearance at Telluride in early September because she still hadn?t given birth. While Carey appeared on The Graham Norton Show over the weekend, she also confirmed that she had a girl and that she gave birth ?three weeks ago.? And now we know the name too?
EVELYN. Evelyn Mumford. Because Carey?s husband is Marcus Mumford of the Mumford & Sons. Carey told ET that the name Evelyn has no real family significance, she just ?came up with it? on the fly. It sort of reminds me of the non-drama of Keira Knightley?s baby-naming. Keira didn?t announce she had given birth for a while, and then she sort of dropped the name to a media outlet like it was no big deal. Keira had a little girl too, and she named her daughter Edie. Considering Keira and Carey are good friends, don?t you believe that Edie Righton and Evelyn Mumford will grow up together and by BFFs for life?

| Rihanna: 'Guys need attention, they need nourishment, that little stroke of the ego' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Rihanna covers the new issue of the New York Times? T Magazine. It?s an issue with multiple covers, devoted to ?The Greats,? including Quentin Tarantino, Karl Lagerfeld and more. Miranda July wrote the profile and the piece is written in a gushy, girl-crush-OMG style. Apparently, Rihanna hasn?t been giving many interviews for a few years (although she just gave an interview to Vanity Fair, so it?s not like this piece is super-exclusive). You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
What she Googles: ?Oh, random things. Like I will be sitting around Googling childbirth? Childbirth is putting it the not-gross way. I was searching the size of certain things, and how much they expand, and then what happens after. …?
Being a next-moment person: ??I?m the same way. Only now are things hitting me, like I?m feeling them emotionally. I used to feel unsafe right in the moment of an accomplishment ? I felt the ground fall from under my feet because this could be the end. And even now, while everyone is celebrating, I?m on to the next thing. I don?t want to get lost in this big cushion of success.??
Why she doesn?t have a boyfriend right now: ?Guys need attention. They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I?ll give it to my family, I?ll give it to my work ? but I will not give it to a man right now.”
Her turn-ons: ?I?m turned on by guys who are cultured. That?ll keep me intrigued. They don?t have to have a single degree, but they should speak other languages or know things about other parts of the world or history or certain artists or musicians. I like to be taught.?
Human sexuality: ?Well, there?s always this human instinct about that, even from a very, very young age.. But by like age 11, girls were talking about what they had and hadn?t done. I hadn?t even kissed a boy yet, so it always made me feel insecure, like I was never gonna be good or ready or know what to do ? I didn?t even have boobs.??
How she?s experienced racism & racial issues in America: ?You know, when I started to experience the difference ? or even have my race be highlighted ? it was mostly when I would do business deals? And, you know, that never ends, by the way. It?s still a thing. And it?s the thing that makes me want to prove people wrong. It almost excites me; I know what they?re expecting and I can?t wait to show them that I?m here to exceed those expectations. But I have to bear in mind that those people are judging you because you?re packaged a certain way ? they?ve been programmed to think a black man in a hoodie means grab your purse a little tighter. For me, it comes down to smaller issues, scenarios in which people can assume something of me without knowing me, just by my packaging.”
[From T Magazine]
When Rihanna is talking about men needing their ego stroked, Miranda July says that it took her a while to find a guy who wasn?t threatened by her power, and Rihanna says she?s still dealing with that issue. As for the childbirth thing, apparently July asked her point-blank if she is pregnant and Rihanna ?laughed and assured me she wasn?t having a child anytime soon; her fear was generalized.? As in, she?s afraid of what will happen to her lady parts during childbirth.

| Julianne Moore urges background checks for guns, similar to car licensing | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Julianne Moore is adding her voice to the many calling for gun ownership reform following the horrific uptick in random mass shootings. She’s doing so in a way that sounds nonthreatening to gun owners and is quite practical. Moore is advocating for background checks to gun licensure in a process which she compares to the reform in the automobile industry. She likens it to the way that people apply for driver’s licenses and makes it clear that she does not want to weaken the second amendment. Moore is also enlisting the help of her famous friends to join the cause. She’s partnering with the established gun safety nonprofit group, Everytown for Gun Safety, to create a celebrity offshoot of the organization called the Everytown Creative Council. Here’s some of what she told People, with more at the source:
Joining forces with Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the U.S., Moore is now launching the Everytown Creative Council, which includes members of the creative community who support gun violence prevention.
“As actors, we are citizens first so we believe in the Constitution and the Second Amendment,” Moore says. “But 92 percent of the people in the United States are in favor of background checks, too, so I don’t feel like I’m in the minority. I definitely feel like I’m in the majority here.”
The actress equates gun safety with strives that have been made in the automobile industry as well. “For cars, you have to have training and you have to have a license, and you wear seat belts and we have airbags and we have all of these things in place that have reduced fatalities unbelievably,” Moore says. “And it was a totally unregulated industry at first. I feel like something that is very sensible and straight forward can be done also with guns.”
Moore hopes the Council will ultimately help create more awareness for change. “Call your state legislator, lobby for it in your own community. Talk about it culturally, too, there are plenty of gun owners who are interested in safety,” she says.
“I know people who own guns who have a gun safe because they have children in their house. These are responsible people. By talking about it, we can admit it’s a problem and we can admit that we want to work together to solve it.”
To date, 79 celebrities including Steve Carrell, Reese Witherspoon and Ellen DeGeneres have already joined the Council and the list continues to grow. “I was going through my address book alphabetically. That’s all I did. ‘Please, are you interested,’ and the response has been overwhelming. I’m so, so thrilled. Everybody feels this way about this issue,” Moore adds. “I feel like with gun safety, there have been many people who feel threatened by saying something but I don’t think I’m saying anything that’s unreasonable. With all of these rights that we have in our Constitution come a great deal of responsibility, and I think the founding fathers would agree with me.”
[From People]
I’ve actually made similar points to my friends – that gun ownership is easier than getting a license to drive and that it should have similar safeguards in place. I don’t know this from direct experience as I’m not a gun owner. I might go farther than Moore in my regulation recommendations, but she’s focusing on solutions which have a chance of being implemented in our gun-happy nation.
Noted economist Malcolm Gladwell did an interview on NPR this morning outlining the points he made in his New Yorker article about the threshold of violence. Gladwell made the comparison between school shootings and looting, stating that the first school shooters at Columbine (I’m not writing their names) were significantly disturbed, but that once something catches on more people (teens) are willing to join, similar to the way that looting and rioting spread in a city. As for stopping the spread of gun violence, he said that it’s not as simple as the news media refusing to use the names of mass murderers (although of course the media doesn’t do that) because the shooters become famous online. Gladwell downplayed access to guns, which seemed incredibly short sighted.
Germany was facing a school shooting issue after two high profile cases. They instituted tougher gun laws following the Wittenburg shooting in 2009, including strict registration requirements and a national gun registry. Mass shootings were nearly eliminated. Yes ideas can spread but they require the hardware to follow through.
Moore is shown in the header in Chanel on 10-12 at the Mademoiselle Prive Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London. She’s also shown on 10-13 (sequin skirt, booties) and on 9-28 at the NY premiere of Freeheld at the Moma (velvet dress with bow. Credit: WENN.com and FameFlynet

| Emilia Clarke Poses Topless After Being Named Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive" | Added 9 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

Staking her claim as one of the hottest stars in Hollywood, Emilia Clarke has been named "2015's Sexiest Woman Alive" by Esquire.
The "Game of Thrones" starlet wears nothing but a strategically placed silk sheet and necklace during her November cover shoot.
Esquire writer Benjamin Markovits shares his thoughts on the Daenerys Targaryen actress' nomination, "Half pal, half dominatrix. Half kid sister, half sexy queen. The movie star who plays, in her real life, an anonymous, funny beauty. This is the gorgeous balance of Emilia Clarke." While Lisa Hintelmann, reveals why Clarke was the clear choice for the title, "Emilia Clarke is unforgettable in Game of Thrones and was hands down the number one choice of Esquire's staff, friends and family."
Clarke, who was named GQ's Woman of the Year in September, joins the list of former "Sexiest Women" winners, Penelope Cruz (2014), Scarlett Johansson (2013), Mila Kunis (2012) and Rihanna in 2011.

| Taylor Swift: 'The public could change their minds about me tomorrow' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m trying to figure out what Vogue Australia did to poor Taylor Swift. Is this a total Photoshop disaster? While I think that Vogue Australia definitely morphed her face with someone else (Karlie Kloss?!), I also think that Taylor?s pale lip is throwing everything off. We?re so used to see her with red lips, I forget what she looks like with pale taupe-pink lipstick. And I think at this point, we just have to acknowledge the fact that even the greatest stylists in the world are clueless about what they should do with Swifty?s bangs. They?re so bad, you guys. Anyway, here are some highlights from the interview:
How she gets famous people to show up on stage at her concerts: ?I?ll approach them and say: ?I?ll fly you to a city on the tour, I?ll fly you there and back.? Part of being an entertainer is to try and show people something that?s going to confuse them, delight them, surprise them.?
Her squad: ?My friendship group is one of my favourite things about my life right now. Our friends really have each others? back. It?s the first time in my life that I?ve had anything strong like that in the friendship department. A lot of the time I?ll reach out to people to tell them they?re great and a friendship will come out of them. Ella and I ? Lorde ? we met on our own because her album came out and I sent her flowers and told her it was great and now she?s one of my best friends. Friendship often comes from admiration and that feels like a natural way to be friends with someone because you?ve established you respect what the person does.?
She knows the public could turn on her: “The public could change their minds about me tomorrow. Things are good right now but I’m never going to be stupid, foolish or ignorant enough to think I have control over the public. All I can control is making good music. I am so lucky that people seem to like me right now but in no way, shape or form is it a permanent thing. And I think being aware of that is what keeps you on the game.”
She?ll take a break after she finishes her tour in Australia in December: ?Then I?ll feel like I?ll need to give people a breather from me.?
[From news.com.au]
I think she?s smart to be aware enough that the public could turn on her. You know why? Because they already did once and it was because of something Taylor herself did. The backlash started, thrived briefly and then ended when Taylor decided to whitesplain her Taylor-centric version of feminism to Nicki Minaj back in July. Almost everyone thought Minaj was in the right, and when Taylor piped up, there were many stories critical of Taylor. If Taylor hadn?t done her damage control, it could have been a lot worse.
PS… The British tabloids started a rumor that Taylor broke up with Calvin Harris over the weekend. People Magazine rather definitively says that they’re still on though.
