In 2017, Melania Trump flatly refused to move to Washington DC after her husband ?won? the election. She didn?t want to move into the White House, and she used the excuse of not wanting to remove Barron from his school in New York. We learned, later on, that Melania was actually holding off on the move until she successfully renegotiated her prenup/postnup. Once her husband signed off on more money for her and Barron, she finally agreed to move into the White House. Now, years later, Melania has once again used her leverage to renegotiate the postnup. That leverage? Her unhinged husband will likely be in prison within a year.
Sources tell Page Six that Melania Trump has ?quietly? renegotiated her prenuptial agreement with Donald Trump in advance of his potentially serving a second term in the White House. An insider told us of the agreement between the couple who married in 2005, ?Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new ?postnup? agreement between herself and Donald Trump.?
The source further said, ?This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her martial agreement,? but the source added that it?s not because the former first lady is going anywhere. ?Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron,? 17, the same source familiar with Melania, 53, told Page Six. The new agreement also provides for Melania, and spans money and property, according to the source.
A different source told us of the new agreement, ?I know that she wanted it to provide her with more money, and also ? from what I understand ? there?s a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.?
The first source said that the timing of the updated agreement wasn?t only because Trump, 77, could potentially serve another term, but because of his recent legal battles as well. Said the insider, ?This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles? [Donald] has suffered? ? including potential payouts in New York Attorney General Letitia James? sprawling, $250 million civil case against Trump and his real estate business, as well as his order to pay $5 million to E. Jean Carroll for defaming her. Said our source, ?Trump remains very rich, but with mounting legal bills and judgements,? the renegotiated prenup would ?provide a more solid future? for Melania and their son should the couple split.
?It?s not that she threatened to leave him,? the source cautioned. ?It?s definitely the underlying idea.?

Personally, I don?t think Melania will leave at this point, especially not when she?s so close to becoming his widow. While Page Six doesn?t say this, I would also assume that some of these postnup clauses involve changes to his will to ensure that she and Barron get a huge chunk of everything. It also wouldn?t surprise me if Melania ends up with a huge amount of control if her husband goes to prison or he dies soon. Think about how Ivanka is in the wind, how Eric is basically too stupid to do anything and Don Jr has what looks like a raging drug problem. And Tiffany WHO? Who else is gonna be in charge? That?s the argument Melania?s lawyers are making.

Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, were both shocked upon hearing the news that the former president had been indicted on roughly 30 counts last week, sources tell PEOPLE, despite understanding that possible criminal charges were looming in Manhattan.
Melania and Donald were both shocked when they were told, a political source tells PEOPLE. They werent expecting it, but Melania will support him. Thats what she does. They are a family.
While the former president has left the couples home at the private Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, the couple were as recently as last week living life as usual. Donald and Melania dined with a group of people Thursday night after the indictment came down. According to a Palm Beach source, they appeared not to be terribly rattled.
Like usual, drama swirls around them and they wade through it, the source tells PEOPLE. Its part of their lives.
The source adds that Melania is upset and angry about the indictment ? which stems from an alleged hush money payment he made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016 ? but not devastated. Like her husband, she is more surprised.
The former president, meanwhile, has found solace in his many supporters that greet him with a thumbs-up in the halls and on the golf green at his private club. They think its a political witch hunt and nothing will change their minds, a social source says. Even though nobody knows what is in the sealed indictment, their minds are made up. The source continues: Donalds supporters rally around them, and that buoys his spirits.
Another political source says in Donalds moments of confidence, he thinks the indictment will portray him as a victim. Donald continues to use the indictment as a way to gain prominence in his attempts to be the GOP nominee again?but is he worried? Very much so, the political source asserts to PEOPLE. He doesnt think he can get a fair trial in New York, and is already blasting the judge who he said hates his company.
Responding to hearsay swirling around recently, a spokesperson for the former president cautioned to PEOPLE that anyone who talks about President Trumps mood has no idea what theyre talking about and are simply lying to make it seem like they know whats going on. In fact, they are on the outside looking in, quite sad, the spokesperson said.

Throughout the week, we?ve heard various breaking-news stories about how Donald Trump could be indicted and arrested at any moment, stemming from his ?hush money payment? to Stormy Daniels. There?s been so much talk about what Donald Trump will do or say or the optics of Trump-in-handcuffs, being marched in front of the national media. But no one has said, ?I wonder if Melania Trump will stand by her man if he goes into the pokey.? That?s because we all know that Melania has been done with her husband for years now. Hilariously, People Magazine has sources within Melania?s camp and she could NOT sound more over her husband. I kind of can?t believe these ?sources? are being so honest about the state of the Trump marriage. Some highlights:
Melania Trump doesn?t want to talk about any of this. According to sources, Melania, 52, is continuing on with her life at the couples Palm Beach home, despite the legal issues looming over her husband, 76. Melania is leading her own life, and still feels happy being at Mar-a-Lago, surrounded by people who love her and who never talk about reality, or bad things about her husband, a social source tells PEOPLE.
Melania doesn?t want to hear about any of this. She remains angry and doesnt want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned, the source tells PEOPLE. She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends. The source adds that Melania has been upset by the Daniels accusations since at least 2018, when the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had arranged a $130,000 payment to the ex-porn star a month before the 2016 election so shed keep quiet about their alleged affair.
Melania wants to ignore the whole drama of Donald?s potential arrest. Melania, meanwhile, wants to ignore it and hopes it will pass, but she doesnt sympathize with Donalds plight, the source tells PEOPLE.
Separate lives: While the source tells PEOPLE that Melania and Donald live in separate quarters of their Mar-a-Lago estate, the two are still often spotted eating dinner together or attending events at the private club. She does very well with all of her socializing duties, the source continues. They still see friends for dinner at the club, but live separately and do what they want on their own. They dont spend that much time together.
Melania?s parents & her son: The source adds that Melania continues to keep busy with her family ? including her mom and dad, who also live at Mar-a-Lago, and Barron, who turned 17 on Monday, amid the chaos of a potential indictment. Barron is a sweet boy who has a loving family around him, the source says. He is older now and handsome. His mom is protective of him but he is free around Mar-a-Lago. They are low-key with their socializing. The source adds that the family likely enjoyed a celebratory birthday dinner for Barron, despite the occasion arriving as Donald braced for the grand jurys indictment decision: They would not skip his birthday over legal issues.
Melania will be just fine. Melania loves the beautiful weather and resort town atmosphere of Palm Beach, the source says. She is happy when she is in Palm Beach. She has her son and other close family members. They are tribe-like and usually stick together. Despite what happens to Donald, she will be fine. She is well taken care of.

The Trumps haven?t even been out of the White House a full month, and I can already feel the combination of boredom and thirst coming out of Mar-a-Lago. Donald Trump must be climbing the walls, especially given the sh-tty performances of his sh-tty lawyers during the impeachment trial. He doesn?t have Twitter as an outlet, so all he can do is scream at people through the phone. Meanwhile, Melania is alternating between vapidity, self-care and seething with jealousy. CNN had a lengthy story about how Melania is filling her days and they make her sound so basic and so jelly. Some highlights:
How Melania spends her days at Mar-a-Lago: She goes to the spa, has lunch, goes to the spa (again) and has dinner with Donald on the patio, said one person familiar with Melania Trumps schedule at Mar-a-Lago, her home in Palm Beach, Florida. Rinse and repeat. Every day. Another person familiar with her daily routine confirms Trumps affinity for the private clubs spa facilities, noting it is not unusual for her to spend several hours a day there, enjoying the benefits at her disposal, often going twice in a 24-hour period, for massages, nail care, facial treatments or other items on the menu.
Bitterness & regret: Yet there have been moments of bitterness and regret, say several people with knowledge of Trumps conversations of late, most notably since Joe Bidens inauguration and with respect to the activities of her successor, Jill Biden.
Why she didn?t immediately condemn the Jan. 6th insurrection: She could see how it was going to go for her, said one former White House official who spoke to CNN, noting that Trump felt she was in a lose-lose predicament whether she spoke publicly or not. If she condemned the violence, her husband and his base would be angered and it would create a stir about her breaking with the President. And by staying silent, she was implying support for what happened. Once (the insurrection) happened, she knew there was nothing to gain for her by speaking out or doing something so she didnt do anything, the former White House official said.
She actually wanted to do to Biden?s inauguration: Disappointed by the way she left Washington, she has been bitter and chilly at times toward her husband, upset that her image became collateral damage in his quest to denounce the election and procure a peaceful transfer of power, two of the people familiar with her thinking of late note.
She?s super-mad that everyone loves Dr. Jill Biden: Melania Trumps most fervent ire has come from watching Jill Biden kick off her East Wing tenure on nearly the antithesis of the path Trump took. Biden moved into the White House right away, for starters, and had a staff hired and fleshed out within two weeks of the inauguration? Jill Biden already has nearly a dozen full-time staff members and is expected to add more. Though Melania Trump reportedly left a note of welcome for Biden in the Executive Residence, she has still not spoken to her, eschewing a long-held tradition of first ladies.
Melania can?t believe how much press Jill is doing: The attention Biden has been getting has not gone unnoticed by Trump, say those who know her. Though she is lamenting the media focus on her successor, Trump turned down several similar offers from national publications throughout her time as first lady, according to two people who worked closely with her. When presented with offers and asks for participation, it was Trump who would not want to do them. In four years, she never did an interview with a national publication. Donald was more upset about Melania not getting magazine covers than Melania was, said Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who served as Trumps senior adviser during her first several months as first lady before the relationship went south.
Melania is second-guessing herself, sort of: The lack of interest in sitting for an interview, out of privacy and concern for what might be asked and require an answer, was for Trump a paramount strategy, according to Wolkoff. Now Trump, according to multiple people familiar with her thinking, is second-guessing that tactic. But the former first lady is not blaming herself in hindsight, shes blaming others former staff members, magazine editors, and corporations and foundations that opted not to work with her because of the former Presidents political rhetoric. Trump has recently been noting to acquaintances that she thinks she could have participated in more media opportunities and policy events had her staff been more accommodating to her needs. That seems unfair, but typical to blame everyone else, said someone familiar with Trumps thinking during her White House years. Everyone knows Melania Trump does what she wants when she wants, and not one staffer on her team could have done anything to change that.

We are joyfully entering Melania Trump?s most hated time of the year! Christmas SZN is upon us, and Melania is probably fuming about it, because ?who gives a fk about Christmas stuff and decorations,? her words. She liked to pretend that she was working so hard on all of her dreadful Christmas decorations in the White House, but most of the work is done by staff and volunteers, with the First Lady basically signing off on whatever the color scheme or theme will be that particular year. We?ve already had the stark white branches of Christmas, and we?ve already seen the Blood Trees of Doom Christmas. What will this Christmas?s theme be for her last year in the White House? Goth Christmas? Black satin stockings and skull ornaments branded ?Be Best?? We?ll see soon enough!
Yesterday, Melania came out of hiding to do the annual photo-op outside of the White House for the delivery of the White House Christmas tree. I mean, there?s more than one tree. But this is the big tree which gets put in the Blue Room. All of the photos I saw of Mel greeting the tree were maskless, but some people said she did wear a mask at some point. She chose a herringbone coat which I honestly like, and I hate myself for liking it. Mel really forced herself to look cheerful. She?s dreaming of a white Christmas divorce. Notably, her loser husband usually greets the tree with Melania, but that bugf-cking coward is still hiding in his baby bunker, trying to pull the world?s dumbest fking coup.

There was a 48-hour period in October where everything really went crazy around both Donald and Melania Trump. That was the moment when they both tested positive for the coronavirus and both had symptoms and there was that craziness about Bigly going to Walter Reed and Melania staying in the White House. The story that got buried was Mel?s former aide/friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff dropping her tapes of Melania bitching and moaning about everything. Mel thinks she works so hard, and this was the infamous Fk Christmas tape. Mel didn?t actually say ?fk Christmas? but she did say ?I?m working like a ? my ass off at Christmas stuff? You know, who gives a f?k about Christmas stuff and decoration??
I bring this up to remind everyone that we?re going to be gifted with yet another Melania-decorated White House this Christmas. Considering she hates all of it, my guess is that she?s literally going to pour blood on some acrylic trees and kick an orphan and call it a day. BE BEST! This is also a reminder that everyone thinks Mel will file for divorce basically the second they?re out of the White House.
Melania Trump is counting every minute until Donald leaves the White House and she can divorce him, a former aide claims. The outgoing First Lady, 50, is reported to regard their 15-year marriage as over and is waiting only for Joe Bidens inauguration in January before making it formal.
Fired White House aide and The Apprentice star Omarosa Manigault Newman is certain they will split, reports the Mail on Sunday. She said: Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce. If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while hes in office, he would find a way to punish her.
Newman who made the claims in her tell-all book Unhinged has previously said the Trumps have a very strange marriage. She told British daytime TV show Lorraine last month that Melania is repulsed by her husband.

Just a few hours before Donald and Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus, Melania?s former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff appeared on Anderson Cooper?s CNN show. Wolkoff wrote Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady, a tell-all about their friendship and falling out. Wolkoff had given a portrait of Melania like no other: the real Melania is just as much of a small-minded, petty bigot as her husband. Melania is constantly beefing with Ivanka, and constantly trying to screw people over. Wolkoff always said that she could back up everything she wrote in the book with all of the emails and documents she saved, plus she always played coy about the existence of some secret tapes she made of Melania. Well? Wolkoff released the tapes!! WOW.
This taped conversation happened in July 2018, and basically Melania is just bitching and moaning about how hard she works:
?I?m working like a ? my ass off at Christmas stuff? You know, who gives a fk about Christmas stuff and decoration? I say that I?m working on Christmas planning for the Christmas, and they said, ?Oh, what about the children?? That they were separated.? She used another obscenity to express her exasperation, asking Ms. Winston Wolkoff, ?Give me a fking break? Where they were saying anything when Obama did that??
?They say I?m complicit. I?m the same like him. I support him. I don?t say enough. I don?t do enough,? she tells Ms. Winston Wolkoff in a conversation that sounds as if she is confiding in a close friend.
The conversation took place only weeks after Mrs. Trump ? who was born in Slovenia and became a United States citizen in 2006 ? made headlines when she traveled to an immigrant shelter for children in Texas along the Mexican border and wore a jacket that read, in white capital letters, ?I really don?t care. Do U?? At the time, the president and the first lady?s spokeswoman said that the message on the jacket was aimed at reporters, not at the children she was visiting. Asked by Ms. Winston Wolkoff why she wore the jacket, Mrs. Trump said she did it to annoy her husband?s critics.
?I?m driving liberals crazy, that?s for sure,? she said. ?And that, you know, that?s ? and they deserve it, you understand. And everybody?s like, ?Oh, my God. This is the worst. This is the worst.? After, I mean, come on. They are crazy, OK??

I mean, I?m not shocked by anything she?s saying here, but it?s still sort of startling to hear Melania basically bitch and moan about how tough her life is and how everyone hates her because of her husband and how little she actually cares about *any* of it. So much happened leading up to Melania Trump?s ?speech? at the Republican National Convention. First of all, she didn?t go to North Carolina like some peasant to actually give a speech in front of coronavirus-y delegates. No. She gave her speech in the newly redesigned, colorless White Power rose garden, which strongly resembles a cemetery. Not to mention, it?s a violation of the Hatch Act for Melania to make an RNC speech at the White House! Melania also did not have to vet her speech with her husband?s staffers, according to CNN. Melania?s bare-bones East Wing operation really doesn?t do much, but they do operate completely independently from the West Wing. So she just had her own staffers work on the speech and I guess she kept her fingers crossed that they wouldn?t plagiarize Michelle Obama again. Here?s her speech:
First of all, I?m pretty sure this is the longest she?s spoken on-camera anywhere in the past five years. Melania wants to believe that she?s an enigma, but really she?s just a vapid golddigger trophy wife with nothing to say. That being said, she was one of the very few RNC speakers to acknowledge the loss of life in the pandemic. I dont care DO U?
There was a lot of talk on Twitter about Bette Midler calling Melania an ?illegal alien? and making fun of her accent. I?ve never made fun of Mel?s accent (although I am still working on imitating it) because that kind of anti-immigrant sh-t leaves me cold. But I don?t have any issue with people attacking Melania?s immigration story, especially when her husband demonizes brown and black and Muslim immigrants. Especially when Melania herself participated in and promoted the Birther campaign and used chain migration to bring her parents to this country, the same chain migration her husband wants to end.
Something that also leaves me cold: when people pretend Melania is ?classy? or a ?role model? just because she?s white. Adjacent to that, I never cared about the issue of ?but she posed nude when she was a model? so what? But this whole classy/trashy, virgin/whore conversation is a mess from start to finish. A month ago, Melania Trump announced plans to redesign the famous White House Rose Garden, an area of the White House grounds which gets a lot of camera-time. The WH Rose Garden is adjacent to the Oval Office and the sweeping pathway running alongside the West Wind. In the early 1960s, Jackie Kennedy worked with some of the best garden-designers in the country to lay out a beautiful garden full of what I thought were cherry trees (cherry trees are seen throughout DC, many of which were gifts from Japan) but are in fact crab apple trees, I guess. Jackie?s garden also had tulips, rose bushes, irises, violets and more. The Jackie Kennedy-designed garden was a riot of color in the spring and summer, and the trees provided shade and relative privacy along that covered West Wing walkway.
I said at the time that it sounded like the garden had to be dug up anyway, because there was a need to make technical improvements. As in, the electric cables had to be updated underground, and a better drainage system had to be added. So I understand why *technically* they would have needed to dig up part of the garden. But Melania decided to put her gothic-horror stamp on it. I guess we should be glad that she didn?t want Blood Trees of Doom. That being said, ripping out the cherry trees SUCKS. And it also sucks that Melania?s garden aesthetic matches her husband?s racism only white flowers allowed in the Rose Garden now.

As we discussed last week, there?s a new book out about Melania Trump called The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump. The book ?reveals? that Melania stayed in New York for months in 2017 after her husband went to the White House because she was renegotiating her prenup/postnup finances and playing hardball. Melania?s chief of staff issued a statement about the book, saying: ?Yet another book about Mrs. Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre.? Yeah, I don?t know, I think everything about the Trump administration belongs in the Dystopian Apocalypse genre, personally. Anyway, the Washington Post had an even bigger excerpt from the book with additional details, so here we go:
She didn?t believe her husband would win: Other first ladies have found the sudden adjustment difficult as well, and Melania, a careful planner, likes to take her time doing things. No matter how intense the pressure during the campaign, she refused to be hurried. The election night win came as a surprise even to Trump, according to many on his campaign, and little preparation had been done for what came next. Trump had even talked about going to one of his golf courses in Scotland immediately after the election so he didn?t have to watch Hillary Clinton bask in her success. One campaign aide recalled that candidate Trump had ?told the pilot [of his private jet], ?Fuel up the plane.? ?
She wanted to take her time in New York: Melania wasn?t prepared to move to Washington, either. It did not help that the campaign revelations of Trump?s alleged serial infidelities still stung. She learned many of the reported details along with the entire nation. While she very much wanted Barron to finish his academic year in New York and not be yanked from his friends, staying in New York also bought time to prepare for her new role as first lady. She needed her own staff. Trump?s staff had already pushed back on her desire to focus on online bullying, and there was huge interest in what she might do. And, according to several people close to the Trumps, she was in the midst of negotiations to amend her financial arrangement with Trump ? what Melania referred to as ?taking care of Barron.?
All of Trump?s wives have renegotiated their deals: Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements are as standard as wedding rings in Trump?s marriages. His first wife, Ivana, renegotiated hers three times; Marla, who separated from Trump after four years of marriage, walked away with such a relatively small sum that even a Trump lawyer said he felt she should have gotten more. Trump wrote about prenups and boasted about them and said any rich man who didn?t have one was ?a loser.? During the presidential campaign, Melania felt that a lot had changed since she signed her prenup. She had been with him a long time ? longer than any other woman. She believed she made crucial contributions to his success. There was talk that Trump likely wouldn?t return to overseeing the Trump Organization after running the country, and Melania wanted to ensure that Barron got his rightful share of inheritance, particularly if Ivanka took the reins of the family business. While she sorted out her plans as first lady and a new school for her son, she also worked on getting her husband to sign a more generous financial deal for her and Barron. It was smart timing.

I actually didn?t realize that Trump?s other wives had renegotiated their arrangements and honestly? It makes sense that Melania was keeping her eye on her own interests and Barron?s interests. I would *almost* admire it, had she not cost American taxpayers $125,000 a day for her New York stay in 2017. The book also details the tricky relationship between Melania and Ivanka Ivanka assumed the ?first lady? role in the early months of the presidency, then Melania pushed her out:
While Melania stayed in New York, Ivanka continued to establish herself in the West Wing, notorious for its cramped and limited working spaces. According to several people, she was eyeing real estate in the East Wing as well, the domain of the first lady. Among other proposals, Ivanka suggested renaming the ?First Lady?s Office? the ?First Family Office.? Melania did not allow that to happen. It was tradition, and she was not going to let her stepdaughter change it.
Especially in the first two years of the administration, some in the White House felt that the West Wing was actively putting up roadblocks and purposely not lending support to the first lady?s office. But others believed that it was just an oversight in the chaos. Ivanka is both especially close to her father and spent far more time around him than his other children. Not only did father and daughter work closely at the Trump Organization but she also had played a key role in his campaign, and now was the child with the most active role inside the White House. With Melania away, Ivanka used the private theater, with its plush red seats, and enjoyed other White House perks. Some said she treated the private residence as if it were her own home. Melania did not like it. When she and Barron finally moved in, she put an end to the ?revolving door? by enforcing firm boundaries.

Melania doesn?t chime in about most of the daily newscycles, but they say that if she doesn?t like a particular staffer, that person is OUT. Blah. Basically, this should end the ?Poor Melania? vibe while she is probably deeply unhappy, she?s also a racist Birther who cosigns nearly everything about her horrible husband?s agenda. And she only gives a sh-t about herself and Barron. And there?s still a Fauxlania somewhere.
