I guessEmily Ratajkowskihas officially given up on actingand gone back to real modeling, because I just came across this new photoshoot she did in New York. | Jennifer Garner on doing charity: 'It's the only time I see cameras & think thank you' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Jennifer Garner was the host at the Save The Children Illumination Gala Tuesday night, an organization she’s worked with for years, with a focus on children in her home state of West Virginia. She wore a simple but elegant strapless gown with what looks like a navy blue velvet bodice (although maybe its black and I’m being thrown off by the lighting) and a black taffeta skirt. Her diamond jewelry is to die for.
In red carpet interviews ahead of the event, Garner talked about raising her children to be responsible adults and to give back. She said that she and Ben try to lead by example and that while kids can be selfish she hope that she’s instilling values in them. Some of her comments were similar to interviews she’s given in the past and it’s clear that these are issues which are important to her.
“I’ve worked with Save [the Children] for the last eight years, and my whole heart is here. So obviously having all these people show up, it’s the only time in my life where I see people with cameras and think, ‘Thank you. I’m so glad you came. Thanks for coming.’”
“It’s so important that you model for your kids how to be a citizen of the world, and I think that’s the very best thing you can do…
That’s really important at home, to make sure that our kids know that we both have causes that we care so much about? that we dedicate time, resources, and our energy toward making our own little slice of the world a little bit better.” – From ET Online
“I think teaching your kids anything is a lifelong job and certainly values are something?you cant just say, ‘Here, have values!’ You have to show them that you have values.”
“The most important thing is just modeling at this age. When they’re older, they’ll hopefully travel with us and go to places and be boots on the ground, but for right now, it’s just really important to both of us that they see and appreciate the work we do.” – From E Online
[From ET Online From E Online]
Garner reminds me a lot of Kristen Bell in that Kristen says similar things about teaching her kids that they’re part of a larger world and they need to give back. It’s a nice sentiment to hear from a celebrity particularly. Unlike Bell, Garner’s message on photographers and paparazzi seems to be a mixed one. She’s spoken out and campaigned against the paparazzi, like Bell, but she does seem happy to use the paparazzi when it suits her. So I’m not really buying her line about only being happy to see photographers at charity events. Still, props to her for her charity work and for being a hands-on mom and a caring person.

| Surprise, Kim Kardashian is already 'bored' with her low-key, post-robbery life | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
Different people react differently to shock and trauma. It seemed obvious to me that Kim Kardashian was legitimately traumatized by the robbery in Paris earlier this month. The loss of her jewelry probably hurt, but the biggest trauma was that armed gunmen broke into what she considered a safe, secure place, and they tied her up and manhandled her. She reportedly begged for her life and truly thought she was going to be raped and/or killed. We heard for weeks that Kim was still dealing with the trauma, that she wanted to go into therapy, that she was having nightmares and that she had no interest in going back to her public life post-robbery. Then some time passed. And she got bored with staying home.
Three weeks after being robbed in her Paris hotel room, Kim Kardashian West is slowly acclimating herself back into the public eye, including attending husband Kanye West?s concert on Tuesday.
?Kim was happy to attend Kanye?s concert last night,? a source tells PEOPLE. ?She is starting to seem a bit bored. She wants to make plans for more outings and maybe even a trip. Things are slowly getting back to a new normal.?
Since being gagged and bound while five masked men dressed as police officers stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry earlier this month, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has been keeping a low profile, canceling all public appearances and scaling back on social media. Though Kardashian West did take a break from filming KUWTK after the robbery, she has gradually resumed filming over the last few weeks.
?Kim still prefers to lay low,? another source says. ?She has filmed at home with her sister and Kris on a few occasions. She has been able to pick when she wants to film and how much. There is still no pressure.?
Kardashian West, who is known for going all out for her birthday celebrations, celebrated her 36th year at home with her family and two children ? North, 3, and Saint, 11 months.
?For her birthday, Kim was overwhelmed by all the congratulations,? says the source. ?She received so many gorgeous flower arrangements that they filled almost her whole house.?
[From People]
I?m sure people will slam her for all of this and much more, but this is actually how many healthy people deal with trauma. They take a break, they change some of their patterns, they take time to heal and take time to feel ?normal? again. And I think that?s what has happened. Kim can?t change who she fundamentally is, which is someone who enjoys being in the spotlight, someone who enjoys being open about her life, someone who enjoys being famous. She probably will change some of her patterns ? more security, fewer jewelry selfies ? but I think it?s a good sign that Kim is getting bored.

| Kristin Cavallari on her kids' Halloween costumes: 'I ordered them in August' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did you read that title? See, I’m not the only Hallowloonie. Kristin Cavallari also starts prepping for Halloween months out. Kristin, who has teamed up with Bounty paper towels, talked to Jeremy Parsons from People while they painted pumpkins with glitter and polka dots. She says painting is a time saver over carving but you can’t see a painted pumpkin at night. There’s no flickering glow or sinister expression glaring at you from a darkened porch. (Did I mention I am fiercely competitive as well?) As for her kids’ costumes, she gets in early to make sure the sizes don’t sell out.
A little glitter goes a long way for Kristin Cavallari!
The former Hills star joined PEOPLE Now for some festive Halloween fun, where she praised the ease of painting pumpkins instead of carving them and showcased a glittery gourd she crafted herself. ?I?m very proud of it,? Cavallari says.
In between kid-safe tips and easy cleanup advice (hint: lots of paper towels), Cavallari, 29, shared her family?s plans for the spooky holiday.
?I love Halloween, we really go all out,? she says. Although her husband, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, will be ?playing on Halloween,? the reality TV star has plenty of costume goals in mind for the couple?s three kids. She even got them way ahead of time.
?I?m on top of it, I ordered them in August,? she says. ?Camden, my oldest, is going to be a pilot, like Top Gun style,? she says. ?Jaxon, my middle one, is going to be a fire truck, not a fire man. It?s so cute.?
[From People]
Even though this year Kristin will be dressing in tandem with her daughter Saylor, one, as white and black cats, she and Jay generally go as a couple costume. One year they dressed as Sandy and Danny from Grease. The Mister and I like to do the cutesy couple thing as well ? once we went as Jack the Ripper and victim two, Annie Chapman. I appreciate her ordering her costumes months out. It?s a good policy, provided the kids don?t change their mind. I usually need that kind of lead-time for construction because my kids always want some variation on a theme I can?t find in a store. Who?s the punk that suggested fostering creativity in children?! Kristin has me on the pumpkins, though. I am worthless when it comes to pumpkins.
Kristin also recently spoke to People about which of her children is most like her (middle child, Jaxon, who is stubborn and swears) and which makes her laugh the most (Saylor, who is dumps food on the floor for the dog.) She also said, ?I?m very comfortable with being a mom, and I?m proud of the way that we?ve raised our kids. I?ve done a few controversial things apparently, but I?m so confident in my decisions? “ I’m torn here. On the one hand, I am thrilled to hear a woman who is confident in being a mom ? I would kill to be able to say the same thing. On the other hand, her ?controversial things? are medically stated as controversial, not just ?apparently.? I wish she would just stick to Halloween craft advice, even if it is glitter pumpkins.
I’m not really a baby person but this picture of Saylor is really pinging my heartstrings
"Lettuce turnip the beet." When I asked the hubs what caption I should do for this pic, he responded with that gem from his BFF @tony2coats . Thanks guys, solid caption.

| Gwyneth Paltrow in a velvet, lotus-flowered Gucci gown: lovely or tacky? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The look of the day is apparently Gwyneth Paltrow?s lotus dress. _(?)_/
Seriously, so many fashion sites are talking about this dress today. I don?t really get it. Gwyneth made an appearance at Elle Spain?s Style Awards last night, and I guess she was the only A-lister there (sorry, Elizabeth Hurley). Gwyneth has been a big fan of Spain for many years ? she?s traveled through the country extensively and she?s apparently pretty fluent in Spanish. So, I guess it makes sense that she would go out of her way to attend this event, especially since they gave her an award for something.
As for the dress, it?s Gucci. And it has a big velvet lotus flower down the front. Why is this a thing? I mean, is the dress hideous? No, it?s not. It?s just not? Gucci? It?s just not a rich, designer look that I would expect from the fashion house or from Gwyneth.
Also: Gwyneth didn?t go to the event with her boyfriend Brad Falchuk. Is anyone one else wondering if there?s trouble in paradise with Gwyn & Brad 2.0? I think he?s still married. Her ?date? for the event was US Ambassador to Spain James Costos.
Other photos? ordinarily, I think Olivia Palermo has great/interesting style, but not here. Her look is Dior. And I totally thought Monica Cruz was her sister Penelope. Monica wore Moschino and that?s a mess too.

| Mariah Carey has reportedly been dumped by billionaire James Packer | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Mariah Carey and her billionaire lover might be OVER! I?m sad about it too. Mariah and James Packer were sort of the best example of the golddigger fairy tale. While Mariah is rich in her own right, she spends money like it?s going out of style and she likes it when someone takes care of her and buys her crazy jewelry. Packer fit the bill. They got engaged in January of this year, despite the fact that they were (and still are) technically married to other people. And now, according to an Aussie tabloid, they are over?
Billionaire casino mogul James Packer has dumped fianc, pop star Mariah Carey after falling out over her new reality TV show and extravagant spending. The tycoon is understood to have walked away from the singer as she prepares to expose much of her glittering life on a new reality TV show, allowing her to keep the $10m diamond engagement ring he gave her in January.
?It?s all over,? confirms one close family friend. ?James had huge reservations about Mariah?s new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world.?
The news comes as no great shock to friends and relatives of the Packer family who have had reservations about the relationship ever since James started wooing the flamboyant singer in Las Vegas last year. Mariah, 46, created tension within the family after refusing to attend James?s sister Gretel?s 50th birthday in Sydney earlier this year, and his mother, society matriarch Ros Packer, struggled to connect with the singer.
There have rumours for weeks that the glamour couple were experiencing difficulties, particularly as Mariah devoted much of her time to a reality TV show about her life, which James, 49, was reluctant to participate in. The couple have spent hardly any time together in recent months amid increasing concerns among his friends about her lavish lifestyle and over the top spending sprees.
?James is very generous but Mariah takes it to the next level,? reveals one close friend. ?When she refused to come to Australia for Gretel?s birthday party it created a lot of tension in the family. His mum hated to even hear her name mentioned, and James? tight circle of friends never really thought they would marry.?
James has turned to his first wife, fashion designer Jodhi Meares for support since splitting with Mariah, who has been spending time with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon.
[From Woman?s Day]
While Woman?s Day isn?t usually one of my go-to media outlets, I tend to think that they?re on to something in this case, mostly because they?re an Aussie tabloid and Packer is Australian, his home base is in Australia, and I think Woman?s Day might have some sources within the Packer family. And it?s clear that Packer is the one getting cold feet, like he suddenly came to his senses and realized that, oh right, Mariah is sort of a trainwreck. I mean, God love her, but she seems like one of the most high-maintenance women in the world. There are very few men, billionaire or not, who could put up with that. Hey, at least he?s letting her keep the ring?

| Amber Tamblyn, pregnant with a daughter, makes case to vote for Hillary | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Amber Tamblyn recently shared her horrifying story of assault. At the time, she revealed she was moved to speak out because of the terrible comments made by Donald Trump to Billy Bush. Wednesday, Glamour published an essay written by Amber, which further explains why she chose to speak up. Amber and husband David Cross are expecting their first child together, a daughter. Amber and David have been married for four years and this is the first child for both of them. Amber?s essay is an endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president and Amber makes some of the most solid arguments I?ve read.
Somewhere between Donald Trump calling Hillary Clinton a woman with ?tremendous hate in her heart? and ?a nasty woman,? I found myself making a phone call to my mother I was hoping I could avoid forever. A story I shared about an encounter with an ex-boyfriend had gone viral, and I feared she would read about it in the news. When I told her, my mother?s reaction was unshockingly unshocked. ?You know,? she began, ?I have a story of my own I want to share with you.?
On the phone, my mother ended with a second story. She told her mother what had happened to her, and I?ll bet you can fill in this blank, too. My grandmother?s response to my mother was, ?Boys will be boys. You just have to be really careful around them.?
Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon. I’m pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into. Will I get a phone call from my daughter someday, one she never wanted to make? Will I have to share with her my story, and the story of her great-grandmother?s words to her grandmother? Is it possible to protect her from inheriting this pain? How much do I have to do, as a daughter and a soon-to-be mother, to change not just the conversation about how women are seen, but the language with which conversations are spoken in?
Hillary Clinton is a mom. She?s also a daughter. She?s also a grandmother. I have wondered what kind of conversations she?s had to have with her daughter about men, or what conversations Hillary?s mother had to have with her about boys? When people tell me they dislike Hillary not because she?s a woman but because of her record alone, I think, ?How can you be sure?? I don?t think anyone can be.
This is not a think piece asking you to reconsider Hillary Clinton?s voting record. I am asking you to reconsider the world in which Hillary Clinton has had to vote. I am not asking you to rethink a woman. I am asking you to rethink women, period. Go deep. See the frame that holds the big picture. Men have countless examples of leaders in public office, while women have had almost none. Whether you are an actress, a teacher, a candidate for student council or a candidate for President of the United States, if you are a woman you have navigated your life solely in a world built by and for men.
[From Glamour]
The story of her phone call to her mother gave me goosebumps. I can’t imagine how many of those similar conversations have taken place recently. You can read Amber?s full essay here – it’s worth it. Although her argument is framed from the perspective of a soon-to-be parent, she doesn?t alienate non-parents. She understands that the desire to protect children from the horrors of this world isn?t exclusive to those who have raised them. For me, the essay’s most powerful line is, ?I am asking you to reconsider the world in which Hillary Clinton has had to vote.? I know everyone is tired of the media telling them who to vote for so I just ask that you let that thought roll around your mind for a bit. It means something to have a candidate that has had to fight against while voting within the system’s grandfathered restrictions.
Congratulations to Amber and David. I think she seems really sweet and he always makes me laugh. I know their twenty-year age difference raises a few eyebrows but they seem committed and supportive of each other. I’m all for happy partnerships.
