Keanu Reeves has had a busy few weeks of movie anniversary celebrations. Last month, he was joined by Sandra Bullock and director Jon de Bont for a 30th anniversary screening of Speed. On November 3, it was time to celebrate the John Wick?s 10th anniversary. At the event, Keanu and his co-star Ian McShane did a panel with producer Erica Lee and co-director Chad Stahelski. During the panel, Keanu talked a bit about his experience filming the action movie, in which he reportedly did 90% of his own stunts. He worked so hard on those fight scenes that he even threw up ?a couple of times.?
Moderator Grae Drake asked Reeves how far he was pushed to play the titular hitman who gets revenge on the Russian mobsters responsible for the death of his dog.
Reeves said the experience was a ?gift,? adding, ?I had so many wonderful teachers and guidance and worked with so many talented actors, actresses and stunt people in the sense of its such a dance and collaboration and cooperation. So theres a couple of times where you throw up or puke or whatever, but thats what makes it good!?
McShane also praised Reeves? willingness to go the extra mile.
?He pushes the envelope all the time. So when your leading actors says, ?Wed like do another one,? and its raining for the seventh day in a row outside ? and youre standing there, whatever. And you go, ?Well, Keanus doing it. Here we are. Here we go,? ? said McShane.
The movie was a hit, and launched three sequels, which have collectively made more than $1 billion globally. The films have also become famous for their violent and involved fight scenes, including one in which Keanu?s Wick shoves a sharpened pencil in the eye and ear of a foe.
When moderator Drake quipped that ?nobodys ever looked at a pencil the same way again,? Reeves responded: ?You shouldnt. Because they work!?

I am impressed but not at all surprised by Keanus work ethic. Its insane that he pushed himself so hard that he threw up, though. That is hardcore, especially because he was 49 years old when they filmed the first movie. This reminds me of Halle Berry?s stories about getting broken bones and being knocked out three times on set. Halle was in John Wick: Chapter 3 when she broke three ribs, so we know those action scenes and stunts are definitely intense to film. It sounds like Keanu really is just as lovely, hardworking, and professional as he appears. He?ll be back for John Wick: Chapter 5, which surprised me, given the ending of the fourth movie.
Anyway, I love the John Wick movies. I didn?t think I?d be into it so wasn?t really watching it when Mr. Rosie put the fist movie on. I started paying attention midway through, though, and was like, ?All this for a dog?? After that, I was all in. Did you know that Eva Longoria is the reason why the first movie was even able to be made in the first place? They were short on budget, so at the very last minute, Eva provided the additional six million dollars needed to fund it. She still gets residuals from it, too.

Harrison Ford genuinely loves to work, but I think he?s avoided working at various points in his career simply because he hates promoting his projects. If every promotional spot was, like, the Graham Norton Show, Harrison would probably be more involved in promo. But still, he tries to play the game and when he doesn?t feel like it, he goes full curmudgeon. Harrison is currently promoting the new season of Shrinking, one of his few forays into episodic television. He enjoys the show, he enjoys his character, he loves the writing, and so he?s actually giving interviews to promote it. He recently chatted with GQ, and I was charmed by this piece:
How ?Shrinking? fans interact with him: ?What they have to say is really unusual in my experience. What they have to say is thank you. They say, ?Thank you. We love this show.? They don?t want anything. They don?t want an autograph, they don?t want a picture. They just want to share their pleasure in the experience. That?s something different to what the usual exchange is with a stranger.?
His great run of ?dad thrillers? in the 1990s: ?It was a very different period in our culture. It was a very different period in the movie business. There was a discernible zeitgeist, and the movies seemed to capture that. It was a street that ran both ways?there was a very close connection between movies and the culture. It was a time when many of our extraordinary filmmakers were still working, the Pollacks and Pakulas and even some guys whose names didn?t start with a P. I was lucky enough to have come up in that period of time, and so I got the chance to work with those guys. To me, that was the extraordinary thing about that time?that I had these incredible guys to work with. It was a great period of my life and I?m really grateful for it.
How those kinds of ?adult movies? have basically disappeared: ?Actually I feel bad for us. I feel bad that we don?t have these stories around us in the world. I mean, it seems this is a particularly bizarre period of human history, I believe. I certainly hope. I hope that we?ll get through it and begin talking to each other instead of at each other. We will begin to work our way through the international issues and the political issues and all this sh-t soup we?re living in?You can?t sit around talking about how great it was in the past. You?ve just got to make something better in the present. That?s all. I?m not that guy.
On the Red Hulk stuff for Marvel: ?I mean, this is the Marvel universe and I?m just there on a weekend pass. I?m a sailor new to this town. Show me the way to go home. I understand the appeal of other kinds of films besides the kind we made in the ?80s and ?90s. I don?t have anything general to say about it. It?s the condition our condition is in, and things change and morph and go on. We?re silly if we sit around regretting the change and don?t participate. I?m participating in a new part of the business that, for me at least, I think is really producing some good experiences for an audience. I enjoy that.
How he chooses his projects at this point of his life: ?It?s the quality of writing. It doesn?t matter what the genre is. It doesn?t matter whether it?s on television or in movies. It?s the writing, it?s the story, it?s the character, it?s the emotional experience for an audience or for myself. It?s people that I have some feeling that I want to work with, or it?s a quality opportunity. I suppose I should be sitting on my ass, but I actually love working.?
Getting young people involved in aviation: ?It?s a great job and it?s become a field where there?s a great demand for pilots. We?ve been talking about the failure to train American pilots. America trains more foreign pilots than they do American pilots. I?m not being xenophobic here. It?s not about having to fly with American pilots. It?s just that we?ve known for a long time that we needed to train more pilots, and we have done that successfully now. Pilots are making a wonderful living when, 15 years ago, they weren?t doing so well at the beginning of their careers. But it?s a great career, and I just encourage people that are interested in it to give it a go.
On the ?death of the movie star? conversation: ?Oh, I think it?s rubbish. I don?t think the question is whether or not there are any movie stars. There?s wonderful actors coming up every day. Whether or not they become movie stars is really not the point. If movies need stars, they will find them. I?ve never fking understood being a movie star. I?m an actor. I tell stories. I?m part of a group of people who work together, collaborate on telling stories. I?m an assistant storyteller. That?s what I am.

I love what he says about movie stars and the great people coming up that was incredibly generous of him, even if I think it?s true that there are not many real ?movie stars? left. He never thought of himself as a movie star though he always wanted to be an actor, a storyteller, an artistic collaborator. Harrison?s run in the ?90s really was unmatched he made banger after banger, films for adults and some of the greatest dad movies of all time. The thing about Marvel films is one of the better explanations I?ve heard from an actor joining the comic-book movie ranks. He?s just like? this is what was out there, so I?m giving it a shot, maybe someone will enjoy it. I also didn?t know that America trains more foreign pilots than American pilots??

There?s been some commentary about ?why did Puerto Rican celebrities only get involved in this election when Tony Hinchcliffe said Puerto Rico is ?floating island of garbage??? While I think that criticism is fair when it?s lodged at Bad Bunny and Ricky Martin, both of whom seemed particularly pissed off about Hinchcliffe, it?s not fair criticism of Jennifer Lopez. J.Lo has been a Democrat for a while. She?s been getting more politically involved for years, especially when Donald Trump was in office. She even appeared at Oprah?s town hall event with Kamala Harris in Michigan a few months back. Do I think J.Lo is doing more for the Harris-Walz campaign specifically because of Trump?s Nazi rally? For sure. But she?s been a Harris supporter, a Biden supporter and an Obama supporter for years. Anyway, Jennifer appeared at Kamala Harris?s Las Vegas rally on Halloween.
There was a great speech for J.Lo with some great lines. ?I remember growing up, thinking my president cared about me, cared about my parents, cared about my neighbors and my community, not just some Americans, but all Americans.? She also spoke about the Nazi rally at MSG: ?At Madison Square Garden, he reminded us who he really is and how he really feels. It wasn?t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, OK? It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of decent character.? She fought back tears as she said, ?This is our country, too? You know what? We should be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should. Our pain matters. We matter. Your voice and your vote matters.? So good.

Olivia Rodrigo has been riding some big highs lately ? like selling 1.4 million tickets for her GUTS World Tour, releasing her concert film of that tour (out on Netflix now), and of course, meeting the King of Australian king penguins, Pesto the giant baby penguin (we?ll still love you once you fledge, baby boy!!!). But there still have been some low moments, too, even if Olivia has picked herself back up and taken things in stride. Sometimes literally, like when she fell through a hole on stage mid-performance at a show in Melbourne, that fans helpfully caught on camera from multiple angles. I still can?t believe how quickly she popped out of that hole and kept going; I wouldn?t have been that nimble even when I was her age. And now Olivia has shared another less-than-stellar incident. She was just on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the GUTS film, where she told a very unsavory story about being interrogated for a half hour by federal agents at the Canadian border:
Speaking about her tour to Jimmy, Olivia began: ?I got in trouble with the law for the first time in my life.?
?We?re going from Canada to Portland or something, we?re at border control, I give them my passport, like: ?OK, whatever,? then they knock on the door and they?re like: ?We need Olivia,?? the star explained.
?I?m like: ?I just played a few shows, maybe their daughter wants an autograph,?? she continued. ?I come out, it?s 3 a.m. and I?m delirious, and they take me to a room, and it?s an interrogation room and there?s a big cop with a gun and he?s like: ?Have you ever been arrested???
?I?m like: ?No! I haven?t been arrested!?? Olivia recalled. ?He?s like, ?Are you sure?? and I?m gaslighting myself, like: ?Oh my god, maybe I was arrested and I didn?t know it!??
?He?s like: ?You know, you can go to jail for lying to a federal officer, this is really bad,?? Olivia went on. ?I?m freaking out, like: ?I?m not going to get into America!? I?m so scared, I?m, like, having a panic attack.?
She then concluded: ?After 30 minutes of interrogation, he looks at me and goes: ?What?s your name?? [I said] ?Olivia Rodrigo: R O D R I G O,? and he?s like: ?Oh, there?s a girl who looks just like you that?s the same age that?s been arrested multiple times and her name?s Olivia Rodriguez.??
Visibly still in disbelief over the whole ordeal, Olivia admitted to the host: ?Jimmy, I was pissed! I?m like: ?You didn?t look at the name on the thing and you?re interrogating me for 30 minutes?!? but phew, crisis averted.?
The segment ended with both Olivia and Jimmy wondering who the real Olivia Rodriguez is as they warned her to keep a low profile.

Ugh. To borrow the parlance of Olivia?s generation: this story gives me ?the ick.? She did say it was three in the morning, which means the officers were tired too. But reading and confirming a person?s frickin? name has to be the very basic of first steps. It barely even adds up, because Olivia had already handed them her passport! Who flagged her name, anyway, and was it from reading the passport or from hearing an agent say her name? I want a full-scale investigation into this!! I?m glad Olivia called him out after the cop copped to getting the wrong name! Again, double checking the name with the alleged criminal you?re looking to bring in, really is the absolute lowest of expectations for law enforcement. At least Olivia was able to make good late night TV fodder out of this. She was so funny describing how easily she started second-guessing herself, ?Wait, have I been arrested??
Later on in the interview, she also shared a sweet follow up to that whole falling-in-a-hole-on-stage episode. After she finished the concert, Olivia went to the hospital to make sure she didn?t have a concussion. The nurse who tended to her was Filipino and had the same name as her late grandfather, so Olivia thought it was him giving her a nod from beyond that she?s ok. Aw, that story gives me ?the feels.?

Angelina Jolie was out in LA this week, attending yet another screening/premiere for Pablo Larrain?s Maria at the Writers Guild Theater. The paparazzi swarm was so intense, Jolie looked like she barely got into the theater, and she was traveling with her bodyguards too. As you can see in these photos, Angelina wore a bronze-y Armani dress and a black double-breasted coat. Meanwhile, Maria hasn?t even had a theatrical release and Angelina keeps picking up special-recognition awards. It?s the perfect storm for her one of the last movie stars of that generation, in a comeback role which is getting widespread acclaim. She?s already been honored at the Toronto Film Festival, and the Santa Barbara Film Festival announced plans to give her an award in the new year. Now the Gotham Awards are giving her something special:
Angelina Jolie is set to receive the Performer Tribute at the 2024 Gotham Awards.
The event will take place Dec. 2 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The Gotham Film & Media Institute said the Oscar winner will be honored for performance as the legendary, but troubled, opera singer Maria Callas in Pablo Larrain?s upcoming film Maria.
?Like the legendary figure she portrays, Angelina Jolie transcends mere performance to craft something extraordinary. Her interpretation captures both Maria Callas? complexity as an artist and the cultural resonance that defines an icon,? The Gotham executive director Jeffrey Sharp said in a statement.

I love it, honestly. Every other year, I?m like ?there are too many awards shows, the awards are less special, it?s too much noise.? But this year, I?m like: give Angelina all of the awards, please. I know that this is Gotham?s way of confirming Angelina?s attendance, ditto for Santa Barbara and Toronto. But it?s still nice! Chances are, the big ?win? will be if Angelina gets an Oscar nomination, not the Best Actress Oscar itself. So I?m fine with her racking up the special awards at festivals and critics? award shows.
What else? Angelina was asked if she would ever consider doing a Broadway musical now that she?s sung opera in a movie. She replied: ?I would love to, but I?d be very shy. But if you asked me if I would be singing opera a year ago, I probably would have said no. I started with Strasberg and I started in theater so of course I would love to. But deep deep down, I probably don?t think I?m good enough.? I don?t think she should do a stage musical, but I absolutely think she could do a play on Broadway. I still believe we?ll see her move full-time to New York when Vivienne and Knox go to college. Speaking of, Jolie was also asked if her kids will follow her into acting, and she said: ?No, I think theyre especially shy, very private people?and they want to be private.

Earlier this month, Anna Kendrick opened up on Alex Cooper?s Call Her Daddy podcast about the years of abuse she suffered while in a seven-year-long relationship. You can listen to her interview here. Anna is promoting hew new Netflix movie, Woman of the Hour, which is based on the true story of The Dating Game serial killer, Rodney Alcala. Anna directed the film and stars as Cheryl, a contestant on The Dating Game.
Anna appeared on another podcast this week, Crime Junkie AF. She mentioned that when she realized that the movie was going to make money, she decided to donate it to charity because it felt ?gross? to profit off of it. The charities that she?s donating her profits to are RAINN and The National Center for Victims of Violent Crime.
In a recent interview, Anna revealed she actually didn?t make any money from the movie, as she donated her earnings to organizations that specialize in victims of violent crime and sexual abuse.
?Believe me, this was never a money-making venture for me, ?cause you know, all the resources went to actually just making the movie,? she said on the Crime Junkie AF podcast. ?But it wasn?t until the Toronto Film Festival, where the movie premiered and it?s this big film festival for someone to buy movies, and that is where eventually Netflix bought the movie.?
?But, it wasn?t until like the week before TIFF that I thought, ?Oh, the movie?s going to make money,?? Anna said. ?Like, I was just so, I went from being like, ?Let me know when the movie happens!? to like, ?Oh god, I?m responsible for this,? and then I was just making the movie, making the movie, and then we just barely made the deadline to get into TIFF.?
?Then it was like, ?Oh, there?s like money going to be exchanging hands,? and yeah,? she continued. ?I sort of asked myself the question of like, ?Do you feel gross about this?? and I did, and so yeah, I?m not making money off of the movie. The money is going to, or has gone to, RAINN and to The National Center For Victims of Violent Crime, which is a charity that Matt Murphy recommended to me.?

This is a really powerful gesture from Anna. She?s putting her money where her mouth is and donating to two great charities. Even more so, she?s making more people aware that they exist. I truly hope that it helps in her own healing process. It also makes me want to watch Woman of the Hour even more. It?s already out on Netflix, so I?m adding it to my list now.

While I definitely think Jennifer Aniston can be and often is problematic, she?s never played any political ?both sides? games. She?s always been a Democrat, she?s always supported Democrats nationally. She usually attends one or two fundraisers in presidential years and I would assume she probably donates to Senate races here and there. Ever since she got an Instagram account, she?s been more politically vocal, using her platform (with 44 million-plus followers) to encourage people to vote and pay attention to various issues. Remember when the anti-vaxxers came for her neck when she was like ?people should wear masks and get vaccinated?? Well, recently, she?s been platforming a lot of pro-choice messages, including the text of Michelle Obama?s recent speech, on her IG Stories. She also posted her ?I Voted? sticker with this message:
Hi friends
Today not only did I vote for access to health care, for reproductive freedom, for equal rights, for safe schools, and for a fair economy, but also for SANITY and HUMAN DECENCY.
Please remember that whoever you are and wherever you live, your voice matters. Your VOTE matters.
I know we don?t agree on everything, and that is the beauty of this country, but GOOD LORD aren?t you tired of this negativity towards each other? The intimidation and constant threats to those who do not think the same as the other?

I always halfway believed that Channing Tatum was one of the main reasons why Zoe Kravitz?s first marriage imploded. The timeline backs that up Zoe started talking to Channing when she was putting together her directorial debut, a film which would end up being called Blink Twice. As she was casting and pursuing Channing as the lead, her marriage to Karl Glusman quickly fell apart in late 2020. Zoe and Channing didn?t officially become a couple until 2021, and they got engaged last year. Well, now their relationship is over!
Zo Kravitz and Channing Tatum are calling it quits after three years as a couple. Multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE that the Batman actress and Magic Mike actor have called off their engagement.
The two first became an item after working together on Kravitz?s feature directorial debut Blink Twice, in which Tatum starred, and got engaged a year ago.
Reps for both stars have not responded to requests for comment from PEOPLE.
Tatum, 44, joined Kravitz in seeing a production of a play by Blink Twice costar Levon Hawke in New York Citys Red Hook neighborhood on Oct. 6. However, Kravitz, 35, has in recent weeks been spotted out and about without her engagement ring, including on a recent outing with Big Little Lies costar Shailene Woodley.

It sort of bums me out? I just watched Blink Twice, and I found it so impressive. Zoe is actually a great director, and she directed her lover so well it was honestly a great performance from Channing, and the whole cast did a great job. Channing seemed really into Zoe, to the point where he was following and liking posts on fan-run Instagram accounts. Channing was friendly with Lenny Kravitz too, Lenny approved of him. I wonder what happened.

We?re coming to the end of ?Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.? I hope all who wanted to celebrate/partake were able to! Technically I got things started at the tail end of September when I rescued My Guy, but I like to think of it as this way we got to honor the spirit of the month together in its entirety. Kacey Musgraves is feeling grateful right now for her rescue pup Pepper, whom she adopted in 2020. Kacey was out walking barefoot with Pepper and some human friends, when Pepper nobly protected her bare-pawed person from a rattlesnake bite ? by taking the bite herself instead. But don?t worry, Pepper survived the fracas! Mama Kacey put some shoes on and whisked Pepper to the vet where she was treated with antivenom and pain meds. I?d say this feat of derring-do by a daring dog merits a song! ?The Ballad of Pepper Musgraves? sounds like a good, country tune.
Kacey Musgraves would have been in big trouble if not for her trusty dog, Pepper.
The singer-songwriter revealed in a series of Instagram Story posts that her Australian cattle dog ?honestly saved me? from stepping on a rattlesnake while barefoot on a recent walk with two friends, though the poor pup suffered a snakebite in the process.
?Copperhead: 1, Pepper: 0,? Musgraves joked, correcting her identification to that of a timber rattlesnake in a follow-up post.
?Got her to the vet quick? for a dose of antivenom, Musgraves wrote over a series of photos and videos depicting Pepper getting an IV. ?The bite made her lethargic. Those who have Blue Heelers know they ain?t ever this calm.?
A crop of stories posted Monday confirmed that Pepper was ?home and sleeping a lot / on pain meds and getting lots of love.?
The ?Slow Burn? singer proceeded to share a series of photos depicting the dog snuggling in bed with a clear red mark on her snout where the rattlesnake struck. ?This is wild but the vet was showing me how the inside of her mouth and all down her neck is so bruised from that damn snakebite,? Musgraves wrote over a photo of Pepper?s lip being pulled back to reveal a gnarly segment of discolored skin.
Musgraves added, ?Thank god for good dogs.?

Yes, thank dog for our blessed floofs! Kacey didn?t say where this snake showdown took place, but she was barefoot and she does live in a cottage in the woods, so I?m guessing close to home? Another reason why I would not want to live in a cottage in the woods! (Limited food delivery is still reason #1.) Maybe no more barefoot walks, for the pooch?s sake? Cause Kacey?s description of Pepper?s bite sounded downright gruesome! So far on our city walks, My Guy has reliably defended me fiercely against any and all other dogs we encounter. These other dogs are usually quiet and range from friendly to completely indifferent, but he growls on my behalf just the same! He also likewise growls against? inanimate statues, of which there are many varieties now during Halloween decoration season. And something tells me if he came up against a snake, well, his bark would be bigger than his bite. Look, we can?t all be geniuses!

Well, this shocked me. I thought Gisele Bundchen was probably done with having babies, but no, she is not done. Gisele is pregnant with her third child, her first with boyfriend Joaquim Valente. Gisele has been seeing Joaquim for over two years by my calculations he started out as her friend and jiu-jitsu instructor, then it blossomed into a relationship. Joaquim is, to my knowledge, the only person Gisele has dated since her divorce from Tom Brady.
Gisele Bndchen is pregnant! The model, 44, and boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 35, are expecting their first baby together, Bndchens third, a source close to Bndchen confirmed to PEOPLE on Monday, Oct. 28.
Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and theyre looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family, the source tells PEOPLE in a statement.
Bndchen has been dating the Jiu-Jitsu instructor since June 2023. Their baby will join Bndchens son Benjamin Rein, 14, and daughter Vivian Lake, 11, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady.
Bndchen, who served as a Victorias Secret Angel from 1999 until 2006, was notably absent from the 2024 Victorias Secret Fashion Show held on Oct. 15, despite a variety of past Angels returns.
Bndchen and Valente were first spotted together in November 2022, when the pair visited Provincia de Puntarenas (a province located on Costa Ricas coast) with her two kids. After originally denying a romantic relationship with her trainer, a love connection later blossomed between the pair, and in February 2024, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Bndchen and Valente have been dating since June 2023.

I forgot that Gisele is 44 years old now. That?s a lot for a 44-year-old body, but I?m sure Gisele sees this as a fresh start with the man she loves. I always thought that Tom probably wanted more kids with Gisele but she was the one saying no. That also makes me wonder if Tom is freaking out about the news. For what its worth, TMZ reports that Gisele told Tom and their kids ahead of time, before this announcement. It?s definitely interesting! Anyway, congrats to Gisele and Joaquim.
Also: in photos from September and October, she wore mostly baggier tops. She probably got to a point where she couldn?t hide her bump anymore.
