The BAFTA nominations came out today! The BAFTAs are scheduled before the Oscars, but they waited to see the Oscar noms before releasing their list. The show will be held on February 22, the last day of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. Incidentally, people have had questions about the awards schedule this year the Winter Olympics knock the schedule off-kilter every four years, as awards shows usually block out that time so that the Olympians can have all of the attention. As for this year?s BAFTA noms, they?re pretty similar to the Oscar noms, with several notable inclusions and snubs. You can see the full list here. Some of the big categories:

No Elle Fanning in supporting, and in ?her place,? they?ve added Odessa Azion, Carey Mulligan and Emily Watson. Interesting. Carey and Emily get priority because they?re British, but I?m not sure why Odessa got priority over Elle. I?m so pleased to see the other Sentimental Value people get BAFTA noms though, especially Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.
The BAFTAs have historically had a huge problem with nominating Black, Asian and Latin/Latin-American actors and directors. They famously have never nominated Denzel Washington ever, in the history of his career. There have also been years where they only nominate white actors and directors (and that?s happened pretty recently too). So, it?s nice to see Ryan Coogler, Michael B. Jordan, Benicio del Toro, Chase Infiniti, Wunmi Mosaku and Teyana Taylor included. This might be the BAFTAs most diverse nom list in history. I?m so pleased that Chase got a big nom here as well, she was snubbed at the Oscars. Super-pleased for Wunmi and Teyana as well, they?re both amazing. Notably, the BAFTAs did not nominate The Secret Agent or Wagner Moura. BAFTA hates Brazil??
Anyway, the BAFTAs ended up solving some of the problems with the Oscar noms simply by adding one more slot in their acting categories. I wouldn?t be opposed to that for the Oscars six nominees per category leaves less room for notable snubs.

The royalists? obsession with tiaras is fascinating, right? Every time the Princess of Wales wears a tiara, the royalists claim that the Duchess of Sussex will be ?furious? when she sees the pics. Even when Meghan lived in the UK, they screamed and cried about how Meghan should never be allowed to wear tiaras. Prince William seemingly agreed, and he reportedly argued behind the scenes that Meghan should not have access to any Royal Collection jewelry or tiaras. I have the sense that they believe every woman would and should do anything and degrade herself completely, all to wear a tiara. And look, I enjoy seeing the jewels too, I won?t lie. But the tiara-obsession has gotten very weird in recent years, especially with outlets like People Magazine. They regularly run ?when are we going to see the next tiara moment?!?? pieces these days, which speaks to the lack of interest in the left-behinds in general. Speaking of, People Mag had a very strange piece about when Princess Charlotte, a literal 10-year-old, could have her first ?tiara moment.?
Princess Charlotte is destined to inherit access to the British royal familys treasure trove of jewelry, so when will she wear a tiara for the first time?
The princess, 10, is likely still years away from her tiara debut, as the headpieces have been exclusively worn by royal women who are at least young adult age in recent generations.
However, theres a chance that Princess Charlotte will make her tiara debut earlier than her mother, Kate Middleton, did at age 29. Princess Kate wore a tiara in public for the first time when she married Prince William in April 2011, shimmering in the Cartier Halo Tiara, which was loaned from Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana both sported tiaras for the first time on their respective wedding days.
That said, two other women in the royal family wore the sparkling headtoppers before they tied the knot, paving the way for Princess Charlotte to do the same if she takes on a working royal role in the future. Queen Elizabeths sister, Princess Margaret, wore a tiara for the first time when she was 18, donning Queen Mary?s Diamond Lozenge Bandeau for one of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands inauguration events in 1948.
Queen Elizabeths daughter, Princess Anne, made her tiara debut at age 17, sporting the Cartier Halo Tiara at the State Opening of Parliament in 1967. It was Annes first time attending the ceremonial event, and she brought the sparkle with the demure headpiece that Princess Kate would later wear on her royal wedding day.

Are royalists just magpies in disguise? Are ?tiaras? the only reason why they support or have interest in the Windsors? It?s bizarre. As for Charlotte and this story, a few things. One, Charlotte will not ?inherit? the Royal Collection jewelry, nor will she ?inherit access.? As we?ve learned in the past decade, it?s a personal perrogative with the queen or queen consort, who gets to borrow jewels and tiaras and when. Charlotte?s tiara access will be up to Camilla, then William and Kate, and then George and his wife. Second of all, if you ask me, Charlotte?s first tiara moment should have already happened she should have been allowed to wear a small tiara for her grandfather?s 2023 coronation. The reason she didn?t is the same reason why the Princess of Wales had to buy those Hobby Lobby decoupage headpieces for herself and Charlotte: because Queen Camilla wanted to be the only one draped in (stolen) jewels. Camilla completely fked over Kate, Charlotte, Anne and Sophie with that bullsh-t.

I was so aghast that Page Six would just blatantly lie about the Sundance Film Festival screening of Cookie Queens, I needed to get that off my chest yesterday. Now for all of the nice stuff around the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?s appearances in Sundance. They were there for at least two days, probably more. At the screenings, Meghan was the one chatting with trade papers, and she also got up and spoke to the sold-out crowd. It makes sense, given that she was a Girl Scout and she sold cookies too. Meghan?s blue coat is apparently from Heidi Merrick, and her white/cream sweater is Brochu Walker. I like everything except for her slicked-back ponytail. Anyway, Meghan identified her favorite Girl Scout cookie, and it?s literally everyone?s favorite: Thin Mints!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are continuing their Sundance Film Festival appearances. After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first-ever appearance at the annual event for a special screening of their latest documentary, Cookie Queens, on Saturday, Jan. 24, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the film?s official premiere on Sunday, Jan. 25, in Park City, Utah.
Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, posed on the red carpet at the Eccles Center Theater alongside director Alysa Nahmias and others involved in the coming-of-age documentary, which follows four Girl Scouts during the organization?s iconic cookie-selling season.
Speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet, Meghan ? who walked alongside Nahmias ? shared a nostalgic favorite when asked about her go-to Girl Scout cookie.
?I?m a Thin Mints,? she said with a smile. ?It?s such a classic. And as a Girl Scout, it was always the one that sold the fastest, so I think you remember it for that reason too.? As for the long-debated freezer question, she added, ?I don?t know if you?re supposed to, but it?s certainly a nice plus!?
Describing the film, Meghan said it takes ?something that is rooted in nostalgia? and reexamines it through director Alysa Nahmias? creative lens to present a modern view of the girlhood experience ? including ?all the layers and complexities that come with that.?
So yes, it?s cute, and yes, these young ladies are fantastic and adorable, but they are also layered, beautiful girls who are about to become very strong leaders and young women, she concluded.

For years, I only bought the Thin Mints from the local troupes, but then one year, I decided to try the Tagalongs (the peanut-butter ones) and I became such a convert. Those fkers are GOOD. I don?t put any cookies in the freezer, but I do refrigerate them. It helps with the chocolate. As I was looking at the Girl Scouts site, I see that they?ve added a bunch of new flavors since I last bought some cookies. Damn? I hope I run into some Girl Scouts soon.
When Meghan spoke to Deadline, she reflected on her Girl Scout days and how cookie-sales are different these days: ?We didn?t have the same perks and leverage of using social media and VENMO, and QR codes that the girls use these days. It was really about a charm and a smile and who doesn?t love a Girl Scout cookie? It?s a pretty easy sell.? They also asked about Harry?s favorite cookie flavors and she said: ?The shortbread cookies and he loves the Samoas.? The SAMOAS??? People who want coconut in or on their cookies are nuts.

On Monday, the Beckham family was in Paris. Well, the family minus Brooklyn Beckham and his wife. The Beckhams gathered in Paris because Victoria was being honored by the French Ministry of Culture. VB?s line shows during Paris Fashion Week, so the French consider Victoria part of their adopted culture, I guess. She became a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Three of her children were there Romeo, Harper and Cruz. Romeo brought his girlfriend Kim Turnbull and Cruz brought Jackie Apostel. Both Kim and Jackie are giving ?young Posh? vibes a Freudian nightmare. It does make me wonder if Victoria is so particularly anti-Nicola Peltz because Brooklyn chose a bride who doesn?t look like a young Posh. Anyway, Victoria was honored and she thanked her family, David and everyone in Paris.
Meanwhile, Victoria and David are still trying to regain control of the narrative around their falling out with Brooklyn and Nicola. I hoped that V&D would just keep a respectful silence, or perhaps even issue a statement saying something along the lines of ?we love our son and we?ll respect his desire for distance for now.? Instead, Victoria is sending out ?friends? to dispute Brooklyn and DJ Fat Tony?s version of events at the 2022 wedding. From a new Mail exclusive:
When Victoria Beckham was called to the stage at her son Brooklyn?s wedding by one of her best friends, the Latino singer Marc Anthony, she could not have imagined how much it would come to haunt her four years later. Shaking her hips and touching her son?s neck, friends of Victoria, 51, have described it as a ?wholesome? interlude at the heart of her beloved eldest son?s special day. But it has led to a global pile-on for the star.
How Brooklyn felt about it was unclear at the time. But last Monday, as part of his jaw-dropping attack on both of his parents, the 26-year-old complained that his mother had danced ?inappropriately on me in front of everyone?, adding he had ?never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life?. It was enough, he went on, for his new wife, Nicola Peltz, to storm off in tears.

And at the heart of how Victoria feels today, they say, is a deeply emotional response that perhaps any mother might understand ? being ?shamed? by her son so publicly for what ultimately amounted to nothing more than a heartfelt moment of affection.
After all, as any video footage of the Beckhams together has always demonstrated, they are a physically affectionate family. The stark truth, they add, is that Nicola simply ?didn?t like it?.
As one friend told the MoS yesterday: ?Why shouldn?t Victoria be tactile with her son? She is tactile with all of her children and she always has been. She has nothing to apologise for, yet she has been vilified for that dance for almost four years now and that is disgusting. The Beckhams are a tactile family. David still kisses the boys when they come home ? they have always been close and cuddly ? and Brooklyn has been tactile, too. It was authentic. David and Victoria are young, soppy parents and yet last week she was shamed for it.?
?It is deeply unfair and upsetting. There was nothing inappropriate about the dance. Nicola just didn?t like that Brooklyn was dancing with his mother so she ran off crying. It wasn?t about how she was dancing ? it was to an upbeat, dancey salsa song, not exactly a Marvin Gaye love song, for goodness? sake. Why would you cry about that??

David, moreso than Victoria, does have the reputation of being very touchy-feely with his children. He?s always been super-affectionate with them. But is Victoria like that? Recollections may vary. And as DJ Fat Tony said, it was a big deal at the time, during the wedding, and Brooklyn was visibly upset at that moment. Victoria either ignored that or she got the response she wanted, which was upsetting her son and his bride. Victoria wasn?t being ?shamed? for being affectionate, she was being called out privately and publicly for behaving in a way which made her son and his wife deeply uncomfortable on their wedding day.

Every time I see photos of Marsh Farm, I think ?what a charming home.? I guess that?s the point of all of the reporting about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at this point we?re supposed to gawk at how this royal prince is being forced out of his palatial mansion and ordered to ?slum it? in a charming four-bedroom country home in Norfolk. Reportedly, Marsh Farm has been uninhabited for years, and I?m sure the interiors were in poor shape. But King Charles is ?privately? financing all of the renovations and upgrades to Marsh Farm, and I honestly think it looks like such a sweet little ?retirement home.? Most normal people would love the quiet simplicity of living in such a manageable house with plenty of private land to roam. Well, apparently Andrew visited Marsh Farm last week and he was aghast.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has carried out a discreet first visit to his new home on the Sandringham estate, even as suggestions grow that he may ultimately rebuild his life in Bahrain. The King?s brother, stripped of royal duties over his association with Jeffrey Epstein, travelled to Norfolk this week to look over the smaller property set to replace his long-time base at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The Sun said he was ?measuring up the curtains,? while sources told the paper he has accepted the move is happening. His new home?the unpromisingly named Marsh Farm?has been ringed with fencing of around six feet and security has been stepped up, with police seen patrolling in unmarked cars and local residents noticing a stream of vehicles around the site.
On Tuesday morning, the Sun?s Matt Wilkinson says, he was spotted entering the estate via one of the quieter farm-track routes rather than the main gates, and his signature fleet of black Range Rovers (he still has police protection) were later seen around Marsh Farm, which will become his permanent base once works are finished.
One friend said this was the first time he had been to Marsh Farm, suggesting he is not planning to spend much time there.
His biographer, Andrew Lownie, also believes Norfolk may be only a staging post. Lownie, who wrote the devastating book on the York family titled ?Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York?, told Page Six he has been informed that Andrew is expected to relocate to Bahrain in the longer term. Lownie points out that the Gulf state would give Andrew warm weather and distance from the British press, and he said the prince will spend significant time there once his affairs in the UK are organized. Lownie said he thought Andrew would remain in Britain for at least the remaining days of the shooting season, which largely winds down around February 1, before any extended stay abroad.

Lownie has been pushing that Bahrain theory for months now. I?ll believe it when I see it. I think at this point, at nearly 66 years old, Andrew doesn?t actually want to leave the UK, because even he knows that hes safe and protected there. Whatever deal he worked out with Charles will ensure that he lives comfortably, just not lavishly. Now, I?ll buy that Andrew will begin traveling to friendly countries once the dust settles on this move, but I actually believe that he?s largely accepted whatever deal he and Charles negotiated.
Meanwhile, the Mail had an exclusive about Andrew and Sarah Ferguson?s tattered relationship. They?re both being described as ?fragile,? and Sarah bursts into tears on a regular basis. The Mail wrote: ?The dwindling number who remain close to the couple have become increasingly worried about them both in recent weeks. Fergie has been prone to bursting into tears on a daily basis while the collapse of Andrews social support network has already left him demoralised ahead of a move that will see him ever more cut off, they say.? Andrew?s Royal Lodge staff will not follow him to Marsh Farm either, so he?ll have to make do with part-time staff from the main house in Sandringham.

Well, it?s apparently over. The relationship, that is. I have no idea if she plans on continuing to live in Texas.
Bella Hadid and professional equestrian Adan Banuelos have reportedly called it quits after two years together. The supermodel, 28, and Banuelos, a well-known horse trainer on the competitive circuit, are said to have ended their romance recently, according to Entertainment Tonight.
A source told ET that Hadid is taking the breakup hard, describing the end of their relationship as emotionally significant given how committed the relationship had become.
Shes still processing it, the insider said, adding that the pairs bond had been very serious.
According to the source, Hadid has been leaning into her work and surrounding herself with close friends to distract herself from the split. Despite the reports, the former couple are still following each other on Instagram.
The former couple first sparked dating rumors in October 2023, when they were spotted together in Texas. At the time, Hadid was frequently seen attending rodeo events and spending extended time in the state.

I looked through her Instagram to see if she was still spending time in Texas, and it looks like even as recently as three or four weeks ago, she was still attending Adan?s events. But? this breakup coincides with Bella?s promotion for The Beauty, a Ryan Murphy-produced horror series. It would not surprise me at all if Bella spent two years in Texas and decided that, actually, she likes to work and she would rather spend more time in New York and LA. That?s just my theory, I have no idea. I also wonder if she thought they would end up getting married and he wasn?t into it. Once again, that?s just a theory. Two years is a long time to spend in Texas to nurture a relationship without a ring to show for it, I?m just saying.
