This really shocked me, not because I thought Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee Furness are some kind of magical, perfect couple, but because they?ve truly weathered every storm before now. Hugh and Deborra are separating after 27 years of marriage. They were both actors when they met in Australia in 1995, but as his career reached all kinds of crazy heights, Deborra phased out her acting career and raised their two children, Oscar and Ava. Predictably you can really set your watch to this Hugh and Deborra are separating soon after their youngest turned 18 years old.
Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-lee are amicably ending their marriage. The couple say in a statement exclusively shared with PEOPLE: We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

As I said, they seemed like they were in it through thick and thin, come what may. They seemed like best friends, like they enjoyed each other?s company and they understood each other. But! Sources told Page Six that their split had been ?a long time coming? and that ?It happened a while ago. Friends and family knew about it.? For what its worth, they went to the Met Gala together this year, so I dont know about that. This might have been a slow-burn pandemic split too, because there?s some indication that they really started having problems in 2020-21, and Deborra was barely around when Hugh went back on Broadway for The Music Man in 2022. Plus, you know, so many couples are just limping along for those last few years before their kids leave for college. I feel for Ava!

Drew Barrymore has always been into renovating and interior design, but in recent years, her interest/hobby has become a bigger deal. She renovated a New York apartment on the Upper East Side and she showed a lot of the process on her social media and (I think?) on her talk show as well. Her apartment is finally done a three-bedroom, three-bath home which she shares with her two daughters, two cats, two dogs and a bearded dragon. Drew showed off some of her apartment in Better Homes & Gardens, and she?s also shilling for her Walmart home line, Beautiful by Drew Barrymore go here to see the full piece. Her interview with the magazine is pretty great too. Some highlights:
She hates recessed lights: ?Recessed overhead lighting is not warm and it doesn?t make anyone look pretty. I feel like it gives me dark circles under my eyes and makes me feel like someone is tapping on my head.? Instead, she embraces sconces, hanging pendant lights, and flush mount fixtures that give off a diffused glow rather than a harsh, downward beam. ?Lighting to me is a beautiful decorative art and you can find tons of cool stuff on salvage sites and in salvage stores. And if you go thrifting and flea marketing, which I love to do, you?ll almost always find amazing deals on lighting that will add personality to your space.?
No sharp edges: ?Ever since I had children, I can?t bear to see a sharp edge in my space. I look at it and think, that corner could take out somebody?s eyeball!. Even my kitchen island has a soft edge. The minute I walked into that room for the first time I said, we need to sand that right down!?
No blackout curtains: ?I hate blackout curtains. They make me feel claustrophobic and scared. I get really freaked out if I wake up in a hotel room in the morning and it is pitch black. If curtains are blackout, I always open them before I go to sleep?I?m up with the sun anyway?and at home I love nothing more than a sheer curtain in a pretty Indian blockprint.?
Stop doing everything open-concept: ?I like the idea of what I call ?closed-concept? living. I want to start a movement. I don?t want anything to do with an open kitchen where everyone can see my dirty dishes during a dinner party! And I like the idea that you can have different design stories for different rooms. The pandemic really taught us that everyone in a house needs their own space?preferably with a door. And I?d rather have a bunch of tiny rooms than one big one.?
Screen time: ?We watch a ton of movies and shows so I?m not judging anyone about screens. But when it comes to my kids, I?m not a huge fan of personal electronics, like iPads. During the pandemic when schools were virtual we were forced into all being on our separate devices and I didn?t like it. Now, I keep the iPads in a locked safe and they only come out for special occasions. I?d rather that the three of us all pile into my bed and watch together.?

I disagree with her about blackout curtains, but I?m also up with the sun (or earlier). Still, I love making my bedroom into a dark cave. Not every room needs to be sunny and bright. I?m with her on closed-concept though some of those open-concept designs are lovely, but I would love for more people to understand that doors are not the enemy and it?s healthy to have dedicated spaces that are not for guests to see.

As I?m writing this on Thursday, Prince William and Kate haven?t trotted out today to make asses out of themselves in a desperate bid to pull focus from the Invictus Games. William and Kate flew separately to France over the weekend, then Kate wore a tragique doll wig to prison on Tuesday, then William raged about suicide on Wednesday. Did? did they not plan something for today? I was really looking forward to seeing their pathetic shenanigans every single day of the Invictus Games. Looks like they?re too lazy to even pull desperate shenanigans. (Update: OMG, they really are doing something today! Theyre taking their sweet time getting there though, so we wont have photos today.) Anyway, what IS Kate up to? Kate Middleton is quietly carrying on with her royal duties this week as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated the Invictus Games with veterans in Germany. According to the Court Circular, The Princess of Wales, 41, held an Early Years meeting at Windsor Castle yesterday.
The royals work through her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to promote the importance of the first five years of a childs life has been accelerated over the past year.
It comes as her brother-in-law the Duke of Sussex and his wife the Duchess continued their week long trip to Dusseldorf for the Invictus Games. It has been claimed veterans have become frustrated that the Invictus Games are not getting the attention from senior royals which other sporting events enjoy with Buckingham Palace looking petty and mean-spirited by not paying it enough attention.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were integral in the early stages of the Invictus Games.
The Royal Foundation, which was shared by Prince Harry at the time invested significant amounts of money in the event. There is now a sense of frustration among some British athletes that their endeavours are not recognised by public figures including senior royals who are quick to send good wishes to competitors in other international events, The Telegraph reports.
Critics argue the royal familys ill-will towards Harry should not be held against the disabled veterans who are competing.

The Mail knows that William and Kate had nothing to do with Invictus. Everyone knows that. But mostly, the Mail wants more content and they?re not being placated with a line in the Court Circular about Kate?s ?private meeting.?

Just days after Danny Masterson was convicted of two counts of rape, People Magazine had a curious exclusive about Masterson?s wife, Bijou Phillips. Sources close to Bijou said that she was devastated over his conviction but she had no plans to leave him. Crash cut to this month Masterson was just sentenced to thirty years in prison for drugging and raping women. Bijou was in the courtroom for the verdict and for his sentencing hearing. Reportedly, Masterson showed little emotion (because he?s a psycho) but Bijou was sobbing during his sentencing. So, months later, is she hiring a divorce lawyer? Nope.
Bijou Phillips is ?distraught? after her husband Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison in his rape case last week, a source tells PEOPLE.
?She has had a very difficult time since the conviction,? the insider says. ?She loves Danny and has no plans to file for divorce. She will be by his side for it all.?
The source shares that Phillips, 43, is ?surrounded by family and friends? amid her husband?s legal troubles, adding, ?She is in touch with his lawyer. They are planning appeals. She tries to stay hopeful.?
Masterson?s defense attorney Shawn Holley did not immediately return to PEOPLE?s request for comment.
Phillips was in the courtroom ? alongside members of Masterson?s family ? for the sentencing on Thursday, according to Variety. The actor was seen blowing a kiss to his wife before being led away to prison in a court sketch. During the sentencing, two women he was convicted of raping gave victim impact statements and the Judge Charlaine Olmedo told Masterson, Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person?s voice and choice. Your actions 20 years ago were criminal, and that is why you are here, according to the outlet.

Even if she waivered and considered divorcing Masterson and starting over as a divorcee, CoS probably wouldn?t let her. Their support is conditional, and the condition is that she stick with Masterson through a thirty-year prison sentence. As Leah Remini pointed out in her statement following Masterson?s sentencing, a few of Masterson?s victims were Scientologists too, yet CoS protected the rapist and not the victim. CoS threatened and harassed Masterson?s victims, what do you think they?d to Masterson?s wife if she ever tried to escape the marriage or this situation?

Drew Barrymore has well and truly stepped in it, hasn?t she? To recap: on Sunday she announced via Instagram that she was owning her choice to bring back her talk show mid-strikes because it?s bigger than just her but don?t worry they won?t discuss or promote other struck work. The post was also laced with words about how the show launched during the pandemic, she wants to make sense of the human experience, and she will bring us together with astute humility. By Monday the WGA clapped back saying the show returning now was a violation of strike rules, and they dispatched members to picket outside CBS in New York where the show was taping. Also amid this Monday maelstrom, two people who won tickets to the show?s taping were kicked out for wearing WGA pins (that are only 1-2 inches long). Now in another hit, on Tuesday night the National Book Foundation disinvited Drew from serving as host at their awards ceremony in November. The National Book Foundation is not on strike now. This is what?s called solidarity, Drew.
The National Book awards has rescinded Drew Barrymore?s invitation to host its upcoming annual award ceremony in the wake of the return of her talk show ?The Drew Barrymore Show? this fall amid Hollywood strikes.
In a statement to social media, the National Book Foundation wrote ?The National Book Awards is an evening dedicated to celebrating the power of literature, and the incomparable contributions of writers to our culture. In light of the announcement that ?The Drew Barrymore Show? will resume production, the National Book Foundation has rescinded Ms. Barrymore?s invitation to host the 74th National Book Awards Ceremony.?
The foundation added, ?Our commitment is to ensure that the focus of the Awards remains on celebrating writers and books, and we are grateful to Ms. Barrymore and her team for their understanding in this situation.?
Barrymore was initially announced as host of the Nov. 15 event in late July. Now, just days after some protested her decision to bring back her talk show on Sept. 18, the foundation has revoked its decision, with no replacement host announced.
While picketers expressed anger toward Barrymore, SAG-AFTRA issued a statement ensuring that the talk show?s return did not constitute scabbing: ??The Drew Barrymore Show? is produced under the Network Television Code which is a separate contract and is not struck. It is permissible work and Drew?s role as host does not violate the current strike rules.?

It kills me every time someone from the show?s camp trots out those talking points about how they?re not violating strike rules? for SAG-AFTRA. Do they really think that ploy is working? (It?s not.) It?s like a parent asking to see your report card and responding with ?but I didn?t cut gym today!? They?re totally separate issues! Gold star for not scabbing the actors (technically speaking, symbolically is another question). The rest of us are talking about the writers.
It?s hard to believe it was only three months ago that Drew was riding the high of that great New York Mag profile. I just re-read the article and cringed when she comments on the network having just renewed her show for its fourth season, yet it was the first time they did so enthusiastically instead of begrudgingly. I wonder if subconsciously she freaked out over things going too well and threw in some self-destruction to counter balance. Like they say, when life gives you lemonade, make lemons!

Drew Barrymore took to her Instagram on Sunday to announce her decision to bring back her talk show, despite the ongoing Hollywood strikes. Although Drew is a SAG-AFTRA member, her hosting duties fall under a separate contract, and thus she is not breaking any SAG-AFTRA strike rules. As for whether the move is breaking WGA strike rules, at first glance it seems complicated. Late night talk shows stopped production as soon as the writers strike began in early May ? part of why hosts started the Strike Force Five podcast to raise money for their writers ? while daytime talk shows like The View have carried on, claiming they?re simply not using their union writers. So perhaps the opinion that matters most right now is that of the WGA itself, and they say that The Drew Barrymore Show returning now is unequivocally a violation of strike rules:
The Writers Guild of America, East announced it would be picketing Barrymore?s New York based daytime talk show.
?The @DrewBarrymoreTV Show is a WGA covered, struck show that is planning to return without its writers,? a tweet from their Twitter account reads. ?The Guild has, and will continue to, picket struck shows that are in production during the strike. Any writing on ?The Drew Barrymore Show? is in violation of the WGA strike rules.?
In her statement Barrymore, who is one of the show?s executive producers, wrote that she owns the choice to return to production at a time when many talk shows have gone dark in solidarity with the strikes.
?We are in compliance with not discussing or promoting film and television that is struck of any kind. We launched live in a global pandemic,? she wrote. ?Our show was built for sensitive times and has only functioned through what the real world is going through in real time. I want to be there to provide what writers do so well, which is a way to bring us together or help us make sense of the human experience.?
A spokesperson for CBS Media Ventures, which produces the talk show, told CNN in a statement that ?The Drew Barrymore Show will not be performing any writing work covered by the WGA strike.?

So basically the producers (who the unions are striking against) are using the same line as The View. It?s a very technical, lawyer-approved way of saying the shows are not using work by union members. Which means they?re saying ? by omission ? that non-union writers or producers are generating material. Honestly my takeaway is that we?re late in asking why The View, Live with Kelly and Mark, et al are still in production.
But wait, there?s more! As if Drew hadn?t landed herself in enough of a quagmire, on Monday her crew kicked out (and allegedly ?verbally assaulted?) two audiences members who showed up to a taping wearing WGA pins:
Meanwhile, X/Twitter user Dominic Turiczek took to social media to document being ?kicked out? of today?s ?Drew Barrymore Show? taping.
?Went to @DrewBarrymoreTV after winning tickets, unaware of the #WGA strike. We took pins & went in, got kicked out, & verbally assaulted by @DrewBarrymore ?s crew. It?s clear they don?t support #WGAStrong, writers or fans! #DrewTheRightThing So we took shirts and joined. F? that,? Turiczek wrote.
?We knew about the #WGA strike, just not that they were picketing at Drew?s show. We were unaware until inside, that her show had WGA writers, thus crossing picket lines by starting again. We won the tickets last minute and didn?t do enough research, clearly,? the message continued.
In a statement to Variety, a ?Drew Barrymore Show? spokesperson addressed the booted audience members.
?It is our policy to welcome everyone to our show tapings,? the spokesperson said. ?Due to heightened security concerns today, we regret that two audience members were not permitted to attend or were not allowed access. Drew was completely unaware of the incident and we are in the process of reaching out to the affected audience members to offer them new tickets.?

What a mess! I?m dying to know if the show does reach out and make the situation right, like really make a teachable moment out of it and invite them back to speak for a minute, wearing the damn pins. Or will the show do it Buckingham Palace style, wait a few weeks and invite them to sit with the crew members who attacked them? Do let us know, Dominic!
The last point I want to make is that if Drew really isn?t breaking strike rules, and by that I mean not employing writers or any written material. If that is the case, then the show will be? Drew speaking extemporaneously? Unless your name is Stephen Fry, any actor-turned-host who thinks they can deliver quality material off the cuff for 30-60 minutes 5 days a week, well they might actually end up convincing the studios to give the writers everything they want.

Here are some photos from last night?s Kering Foundation?s Caring For Women event. This was attached to New York Fashion Week, and this is why Kim Kardashian has been in New York this week. Kim has really been cozying up to Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos? fiancee, as this is easily the fifth or sixth time they?ve attended the same event or been seen together in recent months. Sanchez was also at this event. Kim?s dress is Balenciaga many women wore Balenciaga to this event (because Kering owns Balenciaga).

Speaking of big feathered birds, Nicole Kidman wore this pale, feathered number. It was? a lot. The hair is not doing her any favors here.

For years now, the MTV VMAs and Movie Awards have been in the depths of hell like, no A-listers were showing up to those events, and it was just an endless parade of C-listers and reality stars. I figured this year?s VMAs would be the same, but MTV somehow got a bunch of big-name people to come out. Of course, I kind of think the only reason Taylor Swift went to the VMAs is because MTV guaranteed that Taylor would sweep, which is what happened she won NINE VMAs this year. For the red carpet, Taylor wore Versace? you guys, this dress is so bad. Like, WTF? Who picked this out for Taylor? And who styled her?
Here?s Olivia Rodrigo in a great Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress. So pretty.
Shakira picked up the MTV Video Vanguard Award, and she wore Versace on the carpet (and on stage). I love how sparkles and metallics are back this year!
Cardi B wore the ?Dilara Findikoglu hair clip dress,? a dress made out of hundreds of hair clips. She looked cool.
Selena Gomez wore this red Oscar de la Renta dress. Eh, kind of phoned it in?

Even with the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes still ongoing, it feels like so much is happening the Venice Film Festival closed this past weekend, the Toronto Film Festival started several days ago, and New York Fashion Week is super-star-studded. The Michael Kors show is always a popular ticket during NYFW, and the star of the Kors show is inevitably Blake Lively. Blake is all about Kors and she almost always comes out for his runway shows.
He usually gives her something from his new collection too, which explains why Blake wore this Michael Kors bellbottom jumpsuit. Thoughts? I don?t hate it, although I wonder if the jumpsuit would be better with a simple flared leg rather than full bellbottom. The golden shade complements Blake?s coloring and I love her curly hair and the overall ?70s vibe. While I think Blake generally has a Mall Girl aesthetic, she actually pulls off some generational vintage-style fashion.
Here?s Jenna Dewan at the Kors show? I only love the coat here. I would wear the hell out of that coat.
Kelsea Ballerini loathe the sunglasses, dislike the ?high fashion fanny pack? energy.
Olivia Wilde god help me, but I love this outfit. Great coat, great boots, amazing knits. I don?t even mind the fringed purse.
Ellen Pompeo kind of got the worst Kors outfit.

Here are some photos of Taylor Swift out in New York on Friday night. She was one again at the Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village. It?s Taylor?s hottest club she?s been recording at that studio for the better part of a year, and she invites her friends to hang out with her there. On Friday, Margaret Qualley, Karen Elson, Cara Delevingne, Sadie Sink, Hayley Williams and several other friends all joined her.
Guess who else was there? Sabrina Carpenter. If you?re in any way familiar with the backstory of Olivia Rodrigo?s first album, Sour, you know that Sabrina Carpenter was ?the other woman? in Olivia?s first relationship. After Taylor and Jack Antonoff sicced their lawyers on Olivia over her song ?deja vu,? Taylor then invited Sabrina to open for her Eras Tour. Taylor and Sabrina are now tight, and Olivia is apparently writing music about how Taylor fking sucks. Behold, Olivia?s ?The Grudge,? which many people believe is about Taylor.
There?s also a lot of discussion about Olivia?s ?lacy,? which is more clearly about a woman a rival, someone who screwed over Olivia professionally and personally?
I have no idea what?s about Taylor and what?s about Sabrina or whether these songs are about someone else entirely. What I do know is that on the same day Olivia?s GUTS album was released, Taylor was in her Bad Blood era with her performative girl squad, which now includes Sabrina Carpenter. Sh-t went down and I?m on Team Rodrigo.
