June 27th was International Pineapple Day. I had no idea that was a thing, but sure, why not? On Thursday?s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had a little fun and celebrated it. They shared some pineapple trivia, drank pineapple juice, and ate pineapple slices. While they were nibbling on their pineapple slices, Kelly mentioned how much she hates eating on TV. She just thinks its ?weird? to see people eat on screen and really dislikes doing it. In fact, she finds it so uncomfortable that to her, it?s like someone watching her use the restroom. Her hubby is cool with it though!
Apparently, eating on TV is not all it?s cracked up (or cooked up) to be. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos tackled the topic on this morning?s Live with Kelly and Mark ? which was once again previously recorded ? as they kicked off the show by celebrating International Pineapple Day.
After Consuelos rattled off some fun facts about pineapple, and as they enjoyed pineapple slices and pineapple juice in front of the camera and their studio audience, Ripa said, ?The audience doesn?t want to watch us eat.?
?It?s really, you know ? I always say this. Like, you think it?s no big deal to eat on TV, but then try to do it,? she continued. ?It?s really weird, like, it feels like people are watching you go to the bathroom. It?s that same ??
Consuelos chimed in with his perspective, noting that he has ?no issues with it.?
?If you watch the cooking segments here, I?m just eating and eating and eating,? he teased. ?Shamelessly.?
Ripa replied, ?No, as am I, but it looks weird. It?s not, like, it?s not ??
Consuelos offered up, ?Elegant??
Ripa agreed, arguing that ?it?s not as elegant as you think.?
?It?s weird,? she reiterated. ?Everybody looks weird when they eat on TV. If you watch commercials, if you watch food commercials, those are styled by food stylists. And even then, you see people take the bite, but you never really see chewing happen. It?s like a bite, cut away! Cut away.
Consuelos added, ?They spit into the spit bucket.?
Ripa replied, ?The spit bucket, right. There?s a spit bucket,? before asking the audience, ?Did you know that??
Consuelos said, ?Now you do.?
[From Decider]
I knew that the food in commercials were styled by food stylists and were not realistic, but I actually had no idea that there was a spit bucket. That makes total sense, though. I?m sorry that Kelly feels so uncomfortable eating on TV. Good thing she gets paid a lot of money to do so! I?d be worried about getting crumbs all over myself in front of everyone or forgetting where I was and talking with a mouth full of food. I don?t think watching anyone eat is elegant, lol, but it?s never super bothered me to see a talk show host or a commercial actor try a bite of food. It?s the full-on food scenes like in Elf where Buddy is eating the pasta with the maple syrup and he?s shoving it in his face that bother me. I don?t love watching those types of scenes. There is one time that I never mind watching someone eat on TV and that?s when the judges do the taste tests on Great British Bake Off. That just mostly makes me envious. I wonder if the hosts of that show use a spit bucket, too.

Monday marked the debut of Live with Kelly and Mark, the newly minted married co-hosts of the long-running morning talk show. Mark Conseulos officially took over for Ryan Seacrest to sit next to his wife of 26-years, Kelly Ripa, on the show she?s hosted since 2001. Mark?s frequently filled in as a guest host with Kelly so this transition was seamless and effortless. Or was it? Two days into the all KellyandMark, all the time experiment and things are not going well. They are getting what conservatively is being called mixed reviews and what most are calling ?backlash? or ?brutal? critique. Viewers feel the couple overshare about their bedroom activity, that their newlywed schtick is silly, and their PDA is cloying. Plus, they really wish Kelly would let Mark finish one of his sentences. All of this makes me wonder, have these people never watched Kelly or Mark before?!
Married couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos faced more social media criticism during their second day hosting ?Live? together.
?Gosh I don?t know with them together,? tweeted one viewer. ?I am not a fan. Loved Ryan and all his stories, he brought another layer to the show.
?Kelly and Mark look uncomfortable together, it?s hard to watch. Mark as a fill in cohost was fun to watch. This isn?t fun to watch anymore. Need Ryan back.?
?Painful! When does Mark get to finish his own sentences??? noted one less-than-impressed fan. ?Annoying, changed the channel. Bye-bye Live!
The ?Riverdale? alum defended the first episode.
?This show today truly felt like home,? the actor told Us Weekly Monday. ?I always feel at home with Kelly, but [working] together this morning just felt so right.?
He added that the couple has ?always? felt at ?ease? when they are together, and he feels ?lucky we get to do that daily? as co-hosts.
?I can?t wait to see where we can go from here,? he added.
Ripa, also heaped praise on her husband?s debut, telling the magazine that she thought he did an ?amazing? job and ?better than (she) ever thought possible. ?He?s a natural, and I have a good feeling this is going to be great for a while.?
[From Page Six]
I?ve only seen clips of Kelly and Mark on the show. They seemed like all their other clips, which I don?t love but I don?t know why everyone hates them now. I do think Mark seems a little more nervous, but that?s to be expected. And even though everything I thought would happen is happening, I still think they should be given longer than two days to prove themselves. Everyone needs to find their groove, even marrieds. Hopefully they will take the feedback and tweak their onscreen dynamic because seriously, right now it does feel like we?re at dinner with the annoying neighbors who only talk to each other.
The part I want to focus on is Kelly not letting Mark finish his sentences. I?ve been curious ever since they announced his hire about what their work dynamic would be. She?s been there 22 years, is she his boss? She definitely has seniority; does she get to make calls that he doesn?t? If the audience ultimately responds better to Mark, will Kelly can get ousted? That would be a hard hurdle to get over at home. Even if Mark gets fired, that?ll make for uncomfortable pillow-talk. I hope they thought this through because ABC is loyal only to their numbers. They don?t care about how blowing up an online partnership affects the relationship offline, they?ve proven that time and again. So Kelly running roughshod over Mark isn?t great. Not only does it establish her seniority, it kind of looks like she doesn?t trust him, despite her glowing review above. Plus, it?s annoying to watch. Again, I?ll wait out the first week because they?re probably both anxious. But I?d expect those kinds of nerves from two people just coming together. These are two people who have been together for 26 years and have worked together for many of those.
KELLY PLEASE LET MARK SPEAKLET THE POOR GUY FINISH A SENTENCE. ITS PAINFUL TO WATCH. THIS IS A DIFFICULT TRANSITION FOR ALOT OF US..

| Kelly Ripa on Kathie Lee Gifford: 'people who read the book have a very different take' | Added 794 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kelly Ripa has written a memoir called Live Wire: Long Winded Short Stories. The blurb for the book reads, ?A sharp, funny, and honest collection of real-life stories from Kelly, showing the many dimensions and crackling wit of the beloved daytime talk show host.? One of those stories is about her time on Live with Kelly, from her hiring and working alongside with Regis Philbin to becoming the only name in the title. Except for the Michael Strahan, whom she left out of the book. Kelly gave an interview in which she talked about the section that dealt with Regis saying that ?it wasn?t a cakewalk.? When Regis? former co-host, Kathie Lee Gifford, read those headlines about Kellys interview, she expressed concern and vowed not to read the book because of them. Now Kelly is weighing in on Kathie?s comments, saying that if she did read the book, she?d probably feel differently.
Kelly Ripa spoke up on former Live host Kathie Lee Giffords declaration about refusing to read her new book, Live Wire, due to her take on Regis Philbin.
Appearing on the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, the mom-of-three shared her take on the matter, calling it a conundrum right off the bat.
I didnt see the interview, so I tend to not go into deep dives on things I cant comment on, she continued, talking about correcting the record and controlling the narrative.
I knew writing the book was going to open me up to all sorts of criticism, but people who read the book have a very different take on those chapters, because they read the book.
She concluded: My ultimate comment is?thank you! Its really hard to sell a book, adding that any person who would pick up the book would have a different take.
[From Hello!]
Eventually I?m commenting on vapor here. Kelly?s comments above are based on something she read that Kathie said, which are based on something Kathie read about something Kelly said about something she?d written in her book. Kelly?s got a point until one of us reads the actual chapter, it?s theory. I don?t think Kathie needed to weigh in on Kelly?s comments about her working relationship with Regis. First of all, Kathie doesn?t know what Kelly said because she?d only read headlines and secondly, people have different relationships with people. Just because Kathie and Regis adored each other doesn?t mean he and Kelly did. But I suggested from the start that Kelly should prepare herself for Kathie and possibly Joy Philbin having something to say about this. Even if I didn?t agree with Kathie, I wasn?t surprised to see her speaking up.
But, as Kelly said, it?s really hard to sell a book and Kathie announcing that she?s not buying a copy probably sold a whole bunch for Kelly. Not sure Kathie thought that through when she entered the conversation.

When speaking of celebrity couples who overshare, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos should never be left out of the conversation. Whether it?s thirst trap photos or personal information they thrive off giving TMI about their marriage. Mark filled in for Ryan Seacrest on Monday?s episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan. During the show, they discussed the second episode of Scene form a Marriage, which was tortuous. Without spoiling anything, it was full of strife that asked the viewer to consider how they would react if they were in either of the characters? shoes. Which is what Kelly and Mark were doing when Kelly told her audience and viewers that things would never have gotten to that point for them because Mark solves every conflict with sex. Excuse me, ?sexy time.?
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are sharing their tips for a long ? and happy ? romance.
The couple, who have been married since 1996, opened up about their relationship during Mondays episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, where Mark, 50, was filling in for Ryan Seacrest as guest co-host.
While discussing the new HBO series Scenes from a Marriage, Ripa, 50, said her love life with Mark is much different from what the characters in the miniseries ? which follows a couple struggling to keep their relationship intact ? experience.
I was like, none of this would ever be happening in the Mark Consuelos household, because he would have nipped all of this in the bud immediately, Ripa said, referring to the second episode of Scenes from a Marriage.
While series stars Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac deal with tension and conflict in their fictional marriage, Ripa said she and her husband are quick to resolve any issues that come their way.
He would have been like, Oh, youre upset? I know how to take care of that. Oh, you dont feel good about something? Ill take care of that. Oh, youre feeling like maybe youre overworked? I got you. I know what you need, Ripa explained.
Spilling more details to the audience, Ripa added, Because everything for Mark is settled with, everything is settled with ? before her husband cut in to add, Love.
Ripa corrected him, telling viewers, Love and sexy time.
While Mark was quick to clarify that not everything can be solved that way, Ripa cheekily added, Just about almost everything.
[From People]
I know Kelly says this kind of stuff to get us talking about it. Few marriages would thrive if a partner was silenced with sex every time a conflict arose, so I?m sure this is typical Kelly exaggeration. But it was curious to see Mark cut her off. He knew what she was saying was going to make him look bad. Hopefully it was just a misguided joke. And I say this as a person who finds Mark incredibly hot. Having ?sexy time? with him is something I have entertained, but not at the sacrifice of my feelings when I?m vulnerable. Note that Kelly didn?t say ?we solve our problems? that way, but that it was ?Mark Consuelos?? method. I guess that was part of only having room for one man in their relationship. But, they have 25 years together and they still love to work together so however they resolve their issues is working for them. And their oldest son, Michael, said their marriage has set the bar for him in many ways. He told ET, Theyre great, not just in like a relationship sense, but theyre great role models. I try to conduct myself the way I think they would,? which is a pretty glowing endorsement.
I will criticize Kelly?s comments in the context of Scenes from a Marriage, though. *MILD SPOILER* I was so afraid they were going to resort to sexy time, it was the only thing I was relieved about in that whole episode. I feel like Kelly missed the whole point of what she watched if she felt her discussion was a good follow-up to episode two.

| Kelly Ripa will show her 'many dimensions and crackling wit' in her new book | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

TV maven Kelly Ripa is releasing her first book next year. The book will be a memoir titled Live Wire and is being described as a collection of personal essays. Kelly plans to talk about, ?childhood, motherhood, marriage, her career and the intersection of all the above.? In addition to stories from her multi-decade career from soap operas to reigning morning talk show queen, the book is supposedly going to pull back the curtain to show us the real Kelly and what ?makes her tick.? It also sounds like she?s planning on dishing on all the sexist BS she?s dealt with. That?s probably got a few folks worried. Also, according to the write up for this book, all of this will be done with Kelly?s ?many dimensions and crackling wit.? People has more about the book and what we can expect from it.
Kelly Ripa will be adding author to her list of accomplishments.
The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 50, will be publishing her first book, titled Live Wire, next year, it was announced on Tuesday.
Live Wire will feature a collection of personal essays on childhood, motherhood, marriage, her career and the intersection of all the above ? putting her thoughtfulness, assertiveness and deep understanding of the dynamics of gender and power on full display, according to a description of the book.
It will include a sharp, funny, and honest collection of real-life stories from Kelly Ripa, showing the many dimensions and crackling wit of the beloved daytime talk show host.
Additionally, Ripa ? who shares sons Michael, 24, and Joaquin, 18, and daughter Lola, 20, with husband Mark Consuelos ? will show readers what really makes her tick.
As a professional, as a wife, as a daughter and as a mother, she brings a hard-earned wisdom and an eye for the absurdity of life to every minute of every day. It is her relatability in all of these roles that has earned her fans worldwide and millions of followers on social media, the description continues.
Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification (whence she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment) Kelly always tells it like it is. Ms. Ripa takes no prisoners, it reads.
Ripas upcoming project is also teased to be surprising, at times savage, a little shameless and always with humor ? Live Wire shows Kelly as she really is offscreen ? a very wise woman who has something to say.
[From People]
When Kelly spoke to Parade last year, she mentioned that she had been writing quite a bit. She also said that she hoped to write when she eventually gets out from in front of the camera. So, it sounds like Kelly didn?t have a ghostwriter for Live Wire. I do, in fact, find Kelly funny. I?m not always down with everything she does for humor, like throwing her kids under the bus for a laugh, but I do think she?s witty. So, I?m sure I?ll find the book humorous.
I don?t doubt Kelly and Mark both have their fair share of stories from the industry. Plus, they have a 20-year marriage and three grown kids who still speak to them, which is a whole different perspective in Hollywood. It will be interesting to see how much of what went down with Michael Strahan makes it into her memoir. Or Regis Philbin, for that matter. We know her feelings were hurt when he didn?t tell her he was retiring, but she?d tick off a lot of folks speaking ill of him. However, in the description above, it sounds like Kelly has some stuff she wants to get off her chest. Maybe this is her exit plan from hosting duties. She?s hoping this will establish her as a writer enough that it won?t matter when she burns the place down.

| Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are 'traditional,' 'old fashioned' in their marriage | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I used to have the hots for Mark Consuelos. I do not have the hots for Mark Consuelos anymore. He?s still very handsome, but he opened his handsome mouth and some ugly came out of it that wiped the hots out of my eyes. Mark and wife of almost 25 years, Kelly Ripa, appeared in the Double Date podcast. During their discussion, they called their politics progressive but their relationship ?almost old-fashioned,? claiming that each had assumed the ?traditional roles? within their marriage. Apparently, Mark made it clear from the start that there would only be ?one man? in the relationship and it would be him.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos consider themselves to be progressive people who hold traditional roles in their marriage.
While appearing on a recent episode of the Double Date podcast, Ripa and Consuelos, both 50, opened up about their nearly 25-year marriage and the aspects of their relationship that they consider to be almost old-fashioned.
She makes the home a home, the Riverdale actor said of his wife.
Whats funny is I think of us as such a progressive as a couple. I always think of us as politically progressive ? were progressive people, the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host said, adding, And yet, when it comes to our own family and our marriage and our roles, I think of us as very traditional and almost old-fashioned in our roles.
Ripa explained that because of Consuelos rigorous work schedule over the years, shes never had to leave home to work.
Ive been able to raise my kids here in this city, in the nest, and hes always been willing to travel and go to a set and go off here and sometimes hes had to go live in another country to work on a set over there, Ripa continued. Traveling is hard and being away from home is hard and sometimes he would miss milestones for the kids, and I know that was hard for him.
She added, In that way, were very traditional. He made those sacrifices, but I think he wouldnt know how to find a ballet class. He wouldnt know how to go about signing the kids up for religion classes.
Still, Consuelos said of Ripas choice to be more active at home: Some would say you made the sacrifice.
The father of three went on to describe himself as a traditional guy. I feel like there are certain roles ? its hard to explain exactly what those roles are, he said. We had a conversation where I said, Hey listen, theres really only room for one man in this relationship and its going to be me.
[From People]
I wish people would stop using the terms ?old-fashioned? and ?traditional? when ?archaic? is more apt. Later Kelly talked about how she had, ?definitive ideas about raising girls versus raising boys,? even though she doesn?t believe in ?gender stereotyping.? She claimed her, ?sons are just as sensitive as my daughter, and my daughter is as strong as my sons,? which sounds exactly like gender stereotyping. Mark also admitted when his only daughter, Lola, was born, he intended to never let her out of his sight, even though he claimed he?s more relaxed now because she?s proven herself or something. I guess the poor sensitive boys were just left to the wolves because Testicles!
I realize Mark and Kelly are not alone in this ideology. However, I think putting it out there as any kind of idealized version of family values is not only the antithesis of anything progressive, it?s demeaning to any family who is made up other than one man/one woman and kids borne of that union. That is one type of family, with no more value than any other family type. Plus I?m sure there are people who might poke holes in a family whose patriarch chose to miss kid milestones for his job. A job, by the way, for which he is paid to kiss women who are not his wife. Or maybe there are people who think thirst traps and oversharing are not old-fashioned. But I can?t get past Mark?s comment, ?theres really only room for one man in this relationship and its going to be me.? Everything I need to know about him is packed into that statement. I realize that whatever they have works for them, but I?m out. I hope the Conseulos kids meet non-traditional people who value who they are more than what role they are supposed to assume.

|
Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest have been recording their show, Live with Kelly and Ryan, remotely since ABC ordered all employees to stay home. We heard last week that keeping up all his obligations from his kitchen almost got the better of Ryan. Kelly has also suggested how difficult the new normal has been for her, explaining that her emotions are running high, exacerbated by missing her parents and feeling touch deprived from her kids. Her comments were slightly relatable as we all adjusted to lockdown living. But over the holiday, we learned a new twist to Kelly?s story, she?s not home at all. Kelly and her family have been quarantining in the Caribbean the whole time. According to Kelly, they had no choice. ORLY?
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been social distancing with their kids in the Caribbean amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple ? who share daughter Lola, 18 and sons Michael, 22, and Joaquin, 17 ? were on a trip together with their children when ABC instructed them to shelter in place, a source tells PEOPLE.
?The family was on a trip in the Caribbean when told to shelter in place and decided to stay put,? the source says.
Ripa discussed their decision during a virtual townhall on Thursday with ABC employees moderated by Sandy Kenyon.
We had planned a trip for our family, and it was supposed to be our entire family of course, said Ripa, according to a source at the town hall. And we arrive and three days later, the entire world changed, really. I mean, everything shut down; the government shut down; our country shut down. I hate to use the word stuck, but we were. We decided to stay where we were.
Ripa added that what was distressing was that both her and Consuelos parents were supposed to join them a week later.
Lucky for us, we had our three children, she added. And then, you know, it was supposed to be a two-week trip and we wound up going right back to work. Ryan and I both decided it was better to do the show, because we just felt like in with everything that was going on in the world that perhaps, some normalcy of just doing what we normally do, even though it was like in very unusual circumstances, would be the best thing for us.
[From People]
I have questions. Kelly said that they were on a planned, two-week family vacation when the US shut down. As of March 11, Live had started filming without an audience in New York. March 23rd was the first show the duo filmed from their ?homes.? Even if we give her the benefit of the doubt, that she was ?stuck? in her vacation home when lockdown occurred, they family chose to travel to a foreign destination while the country was succumbing to a global pandemic. And that was after we?d all seen/heard the mass devastation it had caused China and Italy. So this was, at best, a very bad decision. But factor in that all three of Kelly?s kids are in school: Lola and Michael in college and Joaquin in high school. Spring Break is only a week-long and rarely do colleges and high-school spring breaks overlap so, how were they planning a two-week vacation in the middle of March? Michael graduated from NYU last Thursday, something Kelly proudly noted, so he was going to blow off a week of classes in his final semester just to hang with Mom and Dad? If people took precautions, were cleared to travel, and quarantined themselves for the required two weeks, it might be ok to quarantine in paradise. However Kelly is not being upfront about it. Shes making it sound like the pandemic snuck up on them.
This does give more context as to why Kelly was so emotional about missing her folks. Especially since she almost endangered their lives by inviting them.
Interesting that the only vacation photos Kelly has posted are throwbacks to better vacations from years past when she is, in fact, on vacation now.

Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest are continuing to broadcast Live with Kelly and Ryan from the safety of their own abodes, like many talk show hosts are doing. The other day, Kelly broke down in tears as she discussed the social tension in her home. Kelly is locked down with her husband Mark Consuelos and her three children, Michael, 22, Lola, 18 and Joaquin, 17. Kelly ?confided? in Ryan that she was currently not speaking to two of her children because they are refusing to hug her. She explained that she?s missing her parents (who are fine, but not with them) so much, she can?t understand why her kids don?t take the opportunity to hug her while they have her.
The stress of social distancing may have started to take its toll on Kelly Ripa.
On Wednesday?s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the morning show host, 49, got emotional while reflecting on her family and how they?ve been dealing with the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Though she is currently staying at home with husband Mark Consuelos and their three children, Ripa shared that some of her kids ?won?t hug? her during their time together.
?I?m not going to lie, okay? I?m going to let you in on a little secret: I?m currently not speaking to two of my three kids. I?m not talking to two of them,? Ripa confessed to cohost Ryan Seacrest. ?Just because, we?re all in the same boat together, right??
Ripa shares daughter Lola, 18, and sons Michael, 22, and Joaquin, 17, with Consuelos, 49.
?I haven?t gotten to hug my parents. I want to hug my parents. I miss hugging my parents,? she explained as she held back tears. ?And my kids, like, won?t hug me. And I?m like, ?Guys, we?ve all been in lockdown together. We?re fine. You can give me a hug. It?s fine.?
[From People]
Normally, I would make a joke about Kelly going in for a hug and her kids whipping out a rolodex with the times she?s bagged on them on air in response. But honestly, I felt for Kelly missing her parents, needing some kind of connection to anyone right now. I know my emotions are all over the map these days. I find myself being wounded at things I would normally let roll off my back. So I could see reaching out in an emotional low point and taking the rejection as deeply personal. I don?t know that I?d stop speaking to someone over it, but Kelly does like to exaggerate.
Kelly also spoke about her kids and school. She talked about Michael?s graduation from NYU being cancelled. She said that Michael didn?t care but she?d wanted to go, and her father really wanted to see his grandson graduate. I?m thinking a lot about graduates, both college and high school. I?m like Michael, I didn?t want to walk in my high school ceremony (but did, for my parents and grandparents) and didn?t attend my college ceremony. However, graduating high school and college are big deals and I feel for anyone who will miss these once in a lifetime opportunities that was looking forward to them. As Kelly said, these are very small issues given the gravity of what?s going on in the world, but I do think people should be allowed to feel or grieve the things they are missing. As CB said in her post yesterday about coping, there really isn?t a ?right? way to feel currently.

As Ive said, I find it refreshing when a celebrity admits to plastic surgery. It makes them somewhat more relatable. So prepare to find Kelly Ripa totally relatable. Okay, her admission won?t relate to hardly anybody, but at least she admitted to having work done? on her earlobes. *Sigh* well, it?s a start, I guess.
So here?s the story: Kelly and Ryan Seacrest were chatting with Scarlet Johansson during a break on their show, and Kelly started counting ScarJo?s multiple ear piercings. She has about nine in one ear, I had no idea. To ScarJo?s credit she uses small hoops, which isn?t overpowering and look kind of cool. Kelly was interested in ScarJo?s piercings because she can no longer wear earrings in her original holes. And that?s when Kelly admitted to going under the knife. Well, needle and thread, actually:
