Noted Asian actress Scarlett Johansson premiered her new film, Ghost in the Shell, in Paris last night, and these are some photos from the premiere. ScarJo is playing a Japanese robot in the movie adapted from the Japanese manga series, but don?t worry, it?s fine, they changed the character?s name to ?Major? as opposed to the original name ?Major Motoko Kusanagi.?
Scarlett wore Azzedine Alaa to the Paris premiere – she actually used two pieces from two different runway looks to make this outfit – you can see the two runway looks here. I kind of think she should have kept the ?chevron striped? ensemble together and it would have been a much stronger look. The feather skirt looks like a fluffy bathmat in some of these photos, I?m just sayin?.
Meanwhile, ScarJo had an exclusive interview with The Mail on Sunday. It was actually conducted just days before her divorce filing from Romain, which is when their custody battle really began. You can read the Mail piece here. Some of the quotes are interesting, especially this one about how – as a twin – she?s never really been alone in her life:
?I?ve realised in the past couple of years that I have never actually been alone. I have always been with somebody. And in those first moments of life, even just the spark of it, having somebody else there must affect one, right? Because of that, I?m learning now how to be alone just with myself. But it?s challenging. It doesn?t mean that I don?t feel alone at times or lonely, but I?m realising that I?ve always had this other half out there.?

I?ve never really thought of Scarlett as one of those ?I can never be alone? women, like Jennifer Lopez. Scarlett always seemed less needy, like she enjoyed the company of men but didn?t NEED to always have a man. Although I?ve been wondering for a while if Scarlett and Romain are over because Scarlett has a jumpoff. Incidentally, did you know that her Ghost in the Shell director is Rupert Sanders, the same guy who destroyed his marriage by having an affair with Kristen Stewart? Huh.

Let?s be real: Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen could probably date anybody. They could date movie stars, they could date models, they could date billionaire tech guys, they could date artists, they could date stockbrokers, etc. The fact that MK and Ashley choose much, much older guys shows me that they actually WANT to date these much older guys. No one is forcing them into these relationships. They?re not with rich older men for the money or power. MK and Ashley have enough money and power on their own. So let?s just say? their ?type? is Older Daddy Figure. MK dated and then married Olivier Sarkozy, and they seem happy enough together, even though he?s 17 years older than her and his daughter is closer to Mary-Kate?s age. Meanwhile, Ashley was dating a 58-year-old financier named Richard Sachs for about half a year. They just broke up. Hm.
Ashley Olsen has split from financier Richard Sachs. The 30-year-old actress-turned- fashion designer and the 58-year-old financier ended their five month relationship earlier this year, according to UsWeekly. A source told the site they broke up because the former Full House star wants to focus on her fashion empire. The two have remained friends and even went out to lunch together as recently as March 12 in NYC’s Chinatown.
The couple looked very happy in January when they vacationed in St Barts with her twin Mary-Kate and the star’s husband Olivier Sarkozy. It was speculated that Richard could be ‘the one’ for Ashley.

I?ll admit it, I don?t really get it. If I had all of that power, money and access, I would aim to date someone really sexy, just for the fun of it. Granted, I know people will say ?maybe she finds those guys sexy.? Different strokes, etc. But still? it?s so strange to me that both twins date these daddy-types.

Jennifer Garner testified on Capitol Hill on Thursday to advocate for early childhood education, a cause with which she’s been involved for years. She’s a trustee for Save The Children and spoke about seeing childhood poverty and neglect firsthand in her work with the organization. She said, in part, that “Poverty dulls the senses, it saps hope, it destroys the will.” She was calling for an increase in funding for education, which we know isn’t going to happen under the criminals currently in power. That’s all I’ll say about that right now because if I start to include details I will get stabby. Fingers crossed that we don’t have to deal with this madness for much longer.
Garner’s estranged husband, Ben Affleck, of course announced last week that he completed rehab, although there were no details about how long it was. In Affleck’s statement he called Garner his “coparent,” credited her with caring for their children while he sought help, and said that he was getting sober in order to be a better parent. People published a story recently with some insider quotes claiming that Garner is very happy. There’s very little to these quotes but I guess we can read between the lines that it’s easier dealing with Affleck when he’s not drinking. People is commenting on new photos of Garner on set in Atlanta, which you can see on their site:
Garner, 44, was spotted on set of Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda ? where a source told PEOPLE the actress was in great spirits.

The rest of the story is about the movie, which tells the story of a 16 year-old boy who is blackmailed by a classmate for being gay. There are also the older quotes from Affleck about completing rehab. So is People just looking at those photos and saying “she looks happy” or did her PR person tell them to say it? Because it feels like we’re supposed to speculate and assume this isn’t a plant, but come on it is. I’m glad she’s happy though. Affleck looks really happy too! He’s actually smiling in paparazzi photos, even in the rain. Hecate lives in LA and she told me it was pouring yesterday, but here’s Affleck out with his daughters looking super pleased to be caught out in the rain. Someone was holding an umbrella for him and I wonder if that was a photographer. Whatever is going on with him, his sheepish grin makes it seem like he’s just as happy as Garner. It’s Spring! Bring on the flowers and the impeachment hearings, not necessarily in that order.

Here are some photos of Ivanka Trump and her daughter out and about in Aspen, Colorado this week. Ivanka, her brothers and all of their kids have been in Aspen since the weekend, minus Jard Kushner, who stayed in DC to help Baby Fists. Apparently, all of their kids have off this week for Spring Break, and the Trumps thought it would be a good idea to spend Spring Break in Aspen. That?s quite common with rich people – only middle-class peasants spend Spring Break on a beach somewhere, getting day-drunk and making bad life choices. Apparently, Aspen society wants no part of the Trump family though. From Vanity Fair:
Over the weekend The Aspen Times reported that about 100 Secret Service agents were expected to travel with them. As a matter of protocol, the Secret Service would not comment on the number of agents it sent to protect the First Family. A representative told me I would have to file a Freedom of Information Act request in order to find out how much the government spent on sending agents on a Trump spring break. Bill Linn, an assistant chief of police in the town of Aspen, said that the Secret Service had been in touch with the police department and had not asked for any kind of support.
For many, a chance to spot the First Family is a draw. Dinner reservations and spots at events held at Mar-a-Lago, for instance, are now hard to come by. But for many New York families vacationing in Aspen, the presence of the Trumps is nothing but trouble. ?They?re everywhere. There are so many of them,? one New York mom who is vacationing in Aspen told me. ?Everyone is complaining. Everyone is annoyed.?
Another New York mom who took her kids to Aspen for the week said that with so many agents about, it is hard to get around the mountain. Because the Trump group is so big, and security is so tight, it?s harder to score tables at the few local restaurants at which New Yorkers normally dine. Traffic, too, they said, is a nightmare. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are a married couple I can only take in small doses. They’re open about their personal issues and in theory that’s admirable and helpful to a lot of people. Sometimes I wish they would tone it down a little because they can be extra. I think that only comes through for people like me who follow celebrity gossip, because if you catch them occasionally you might think “those two are refreshingly honest.” Anyway they’re promoting the CHiPs movie, which looks dumb and overly raunchy but has the potential to be funny. It’s out this weekend and there enough reviews yet for a Rotten Tomatoes rating. On the red carpet, when asked about her secrets to a successful marriage, Kristen said they do therapy and take “fierce moral inventories” frequently. Again, if you’re a gossip follower like me this isn’t new. Kristen and Dax have talked openly about the fact that they do couple’s therapy. It’s still good of her to admit it again.
?We have a very healthy marriage and we got there by doing therapy when we needed it, and constantly doing fierce moral inventories,? she said. ?We both take responsibility when we are wrong, and I think it is easy to work with him because I married him, because I enjoy spending time with him and I trust him. That is exactly what I want in someone that I work with.?
The 36-year-old actress then joked, ?I guess there is no competition between us ? we?re not generally up for the same roles, so we can kind of keep that separate.?
Bell recalled the first time the couple fought: during a cross-country road trip on a motorcycle during their first year of dating.
?We were fighting about the first year of our relationship because it?s a power struggle, and we were fighting about the playlist, and I got so mad at him at one point that I refused to hold onto him,? she said. ?So I was on the back and just held onto the [bike] because I didn?t want to touch him.?

The “fierce moral inventories” thing is an Alcoholics Anonymous reference to the fourth and tenth step of of AA, which are “Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves” and “Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.” Kristen has said before that Dax is in recovery, he’s been sober 13 years, and she follows AA’s disease model of addiction. As for that story about how they fought the first time, you get the impression that they both have Type A personalities. When they’re on the same page they’re a force to be reckoned with but I bet when they disagree the fights must be bad. Maybe they learned skills in therapy to work through those arguments without holding resentments.
I probably should have looked at these photos from the CHiPs premiere before writing this because I would have spent more time critiquing her outfit, which is some kind of crop top with scalloped lace at the bottom over a ruffled graphic print floral skirt. So fug.

There’s a change of scenery in store for reality show personality Kristin Cavallari and her family. The Hills alum shared a post on Instagram on Monday telling her followers that she, her husband Jay Cutler and her kids, sons Camden, 4, Jaxon, 2 and 16-month old daughter, Saylor, are leaving Chicago. Why the move? The re-lo is coming on the heels of Jay being released from the Chicago Bears, where he was the QB for the team for eight seasons. Kristin, 30, posted the photo on Monday from the Windy City.
So we're moving from Chicago soon and I gotta say, I'm really gonna miss this place. Not only we're all 3 of my babies born here, it's where it all began with jay, it brought me closer to my mom who has become my best friend, I've made some amazing girlfriends, and I've really enjoyed being back here (a lot of people don't know I lived here when I was younger). Thanks for all the good times, Chicago. This will always be a special place for us ??
