Always a fierce competitor, Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen is featured in a new ?Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2? poster, perched atop an ivory throne.
Clad in a vermillion red suit with matching arrows, the ?American Hustle? star flashes an intense expression across her face ahead of the November 20th theatrical release date.
Thus far, the ?Hunger Games? franchise has grossed $2.23 billion at the global box office, and ?Mockingjay Part 2? promises to be the biggest hit yet. Per the synopsis, "With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends ? including Gale, Finnick, and Peeta ? Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games."

I love a good fake “artsy” photoshoot as much as the next pervert, so I was pretty happywhen I came across these latest pictures from Ashley Benson. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten anything new from the blonde hottie, so even though I tend to prefer my topless photoshoots with a little less pretentiousmoping […]

OK, so maybe I need to stop making fun of Kendall Jenner for getting her parents to buy her a modeling career. Because after this shoot she did for Calvin Klein, I’d say Kendall definitely has what it takes to be a real model. And by that I mean the ability to give me an […]

Petra Nemcova and her cleavage started making a serious comeback on the site last year, but I guess she decided to shake things up a bit for 2015. Becausehere she is putting on a red-hot leg show during Paris Fashion Week, and you know, I’m starting to think I haven’tbeen paying enough attention to Petra’slower […]

Out of all the hotties we regularly cover on this site, Miley Cyrus is probably the toughest one to figure out. Because sometimes she’s posing topless for fashion mags (orher Instagram followers), and other times she’s just your garden-varietystoner,showing up in a gas station in a giant oversized t-shirt covered in stickers. Still, if I […]

| Natalie Portman misses some stuff about America, like kid-friendly gyms | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Natalie Portman covers the new issue (the August issue) of Harper?s Bazaar. She?s promoting Jane Got a Gun and A Tale of Love of Darkness (which she adapted and directed). The photoshoot is sort of Grace Kelly-ish, mostly because the vibe is very South of France, a la To Catch a Thief. That being said, I don?t think Natalie was served well by the editorial ? she?s a beautiful woman and some of these photos are just not that great. The cover is especially awkward. The interview is decent ? Natalie does tend to come across as somewhat smug and condescending in many interviews, but I enjoyed this piece ? you can read it here. Some highlights:
Life in Paris: “It’s magical. But the cultures are different in ways you don’t even realize. And there’s stuff you don’t know you’ll miss until you’re away. Like indoor gyms where kids can just run and jump. They don’t have those there. [In Paris] if you’re running around on the playground chasing your kid and playing a game, people think you’re nuts.”
French people have better conversations: “This French friend of ours just told me that being in Los Angeles, he missed having serious conversations at dinner. In Paris, if you’re at dinner and there isn’t a debate, you leave and think, Well, that wasn’t a very good party. But no one ever does that here. And I thought, I like just having happy talk! My French is okay, but when my friends are talking about books and philosophy, that’s a level of conversation I’m just not ready for linguistically. And maybe intellectually.”
Making the clusterwhoops of ?Jane Got a Gun?: “It’s a testament to how amazing it is in New Mexico that I still love it there, because that movie was really challenging. It’s a miracle it came out so well.”
A Tale of Love and Darkness: “The power of words is at the center of Judaism, and the creating of a people through storytelling. So I wanted to show the birth of this writer as he relates to his mother.”
Her Israeli roots: “It’s a very strange place to be from. When you say, ‘I’m for Israel,’ everyone wants to have a 10-hour political conversation. Everyone has a very strong, passionate opinion about it. But I’m grateful for it. I had so many friends who asked when we were younger, ‘Who am I? What’s my identity?’ I never questioned my identity.”
The red carpet questions: “I get asked so many questions about the Middle East, and I’m like ‘Can you please just ask me about my dress? Let’s just talk about the dress!’”

| Jake Gyllenhaal is too serious, Oscar-y to talk about his physical transformation | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Some people have strong feelings about Jake Gyllenhaal. I?m not one of them. I used to like him, genuinely, but over the years I?ve just stopped caring for the most part. Some people felt that Jake was totally robbed of an Oscar nomination for Nightcrawler, so maybe his new Oscar-bait film Southpaw will get him one. I?ve seen the trailer and it looks like it?s not going to be my jam. I?m not into boxing movies in general, but I?m just not buying Jake specifically in this role. What bugs me a little bit is that Jake is trying to remake himself into a super-serious, humorless, super-Oscary dude. And I think people would be more likely to root for him if he didn?t come across like a guy who takes himself too seriously, you know? This Details interview actually opens with Jake asking ?Do you actually want to know how many sit-ups I did? Are you easing me into the question?” Like the bulk of this interview and a million other interviews he will do won?t be exactly about his physical transformation.
His physical transformation is part of his internal transformation into a character: “I believe that. I really do. But I think we all see what we want to see. If you want to see a guy who has gotten into shape, then that’s what you see. But if you want to see what I feel, I think you have to look a little deeper?People have a lot of other sh-t they have to do that’s more interesting and more important, so I don’t blame them for being like, ‘Oh, wait, how many sit-ups did you have to do?’ Or, ‘Oh, wow, what did you eat to lose that much weight?’ But you’re missing the point. Nightcrawler was ironically about the trouble with that question. It was about why people only look at how much weight you lost, as opposed to what’s at the heart of what you’re doing.?
Doing darker films: “People say, ‘You made all these changes in your life, and all your movies seem so different now. I really like the movies you’re making now.’ Which implies that they didn’t . . .”
His 20s: “I was trying to figure out a lot of stuff? We’re all told we’re going to get to a place where those things will come together, where we’ll somehow be whole or happy or whatever it is. So I went searching?.There’s a period of time in your life, in your twenties, when you’re listening to a lot of other people’s opinions. You’re not sure about what you believe in, and you’re moving in a direction that you feel like looks right to other people. And then you think, Wait, what do I feel? What do I want? What moves me? It’s not always so pure and clear. It’s not like I have my agent on one shoulder and my pure artist on the other.”
Taking real hits on Southpaw: “I got hit pretty hard in the face. All the producers ran [over]. I don’t think out of real worry for me, but just the fact that we were only two weeks into shooting. There is something jarring about being hit in the face. I don’t know how to explain it. It wakes me up. Your initial instinct is to lean out. It’s the instinct to lean in that took me five months. Hitting someone?I don’t have as much of a problem with that. But I don’t like to get hit.”
His journey: “What else is there but the journey of trying to be a good person, or a good man? In this incarnation, that seems to be my goal. It’s a complicated thing, because I think the idea of good doesn’t subtract complexities, doesn’t subtract darkness.”
[From Details]
So Oscar. Much serious. I understand what he?s saying in almost every quote and I even agree with him, but the way he speaks about his transformations and his journeys and all of that? he just seems like such a morose dude who takes himself way too seriously. Like, he?s still trying to prove that he?s this intense and amazing dramatic actor, to the point where he?s just boring people to death. I don?t know ? maybe a Jake-loonie will feel differently about this interview.
