| Gal Gadot and Yaron Varsano welcome daughter Daniella | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

We?re always talking about how some pregnancies feel like they last an eternity and some whizz by. Gal Gadot?s latest pregnancy feels like the latter. To be fair, we just found out about her third pregnancy in March. I guess she was already well into her second trimester by then because on Tuesday, Gal announced the birth on Instagram. She posted the sweet photo above of herself, her husband Yaron Varsano and their daughters, Alma, nine, Maya, four, and the newest family member, Daniella, with the following caption:
My sweet family ??I couldn?t be more grateful and happy (and tired ?) we are all so excited to welcome Daniella into our family. I?m sending all of you love and health. GG ????????????
[From Instagram via Page Six]
I absolutely love the vibe of this post. First of all, it?s the perfect complement to the announcement photo with the family smiling and touching Gal?s belly. Secondly, it?s such a relaxed photo, it looks like an album cover. Like they were all in the middle of a family sing-along when mom needed a small break to give birth, then they picked up at the second stanza. It?s sweet and everyone does look happy and tired in a newborn-just-arrived kind of way. Daniella Varsano is a pretty name. Daniella also fits in well with the Alma/Maya flow (and works with the whole Varsano Sisters Album I?ve created in my head).
I somehow missed that Gal told us she was having another girl in April. When she appeared on Kelly and Ryan, Gal knew Daniella was a she and announced it at that time. She asked Kelly for any advice on having a third and Kelly graciously told her the third would be her easiest because ?it?s like they come out knowing you have your hands full.? That?s nice. Usually people are like, ?it?s chaos! You?ll never know peace!? Kelly waded into that territory later with Gal after Ryan asked what thing Gal intended to do differently with baby #3. Gal said they?d ?messed up? the whole sleep training with Alma so they really wanted to make it a priority with this one. Kelly said people think once a baby sleeps through the night the parents sleep soundly from then on. But the reality is that when the kids grow up, the parents stay up all night worrying about them. I can?t really fault Kelly for this, it?s true. Except I?m sure that won?t happen with Daniella because she?s part of the Varsano Sisters. They sing folk songs when the mood strikes them and protect world peace when not recording.
Congratulations to the whole Varsano Gadot family!

| Gal Gadot confirms that Joss Whedon 'threatened my career' on Justice League | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

About a month ago, the Hollywood Reporter had a lengthy cover story about the still-ongoing issues between Ray Fisher and Warner Bros regarding Joss Whedon. When Whedon stepped in to complete Justice League, he marginalized Fisher and Fisher?s character Cyborg and Whedon treated Fisher abominably. As THR revealed, Fisher was far from the only Justice League cast member to have issues with Whedon. Jason Momoa and Ben Affleck couldn?t stand Whedon and pushed back against his script rewrite as well. And then there was Gal Gadot. According to THR:
A knowledgeable source says Gal Gadot had multiple concerns with the revised version of the film, including ?issues about her character being more aggressive than her character in Wonder Woman. She wanted to make the character flow from one movie to the next.?
The biggest clash, sources say, came when Whedon pushed Gadot to record lines she didn?t like, threatened to harm Gadot?s career and disparaged Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. While Fisher declines to discuss any of what transpired with Gadot, a witness on the production who later spoke to investigators says that after one clash, ?Joss was bragging that he?s had it out with Gal. He told her he?s the writer and she?s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.?
A knowledgeable source says Gadot and Jenkins went to battle, culminating in a meeting with then-Warners chairman Kevin Tsujihara. Asked for comment, Gadot says in a statement: ?I had my issues with [Whedon] and Warner Bros. handled it in a timely manner.?
[From THR via previous CB story]
Gadot had never confirmed anything on the record beyond the fact that there was an issue with Whedon and she went over his head. She also hasn?t done much to support Ray Fisher, at least publicly, but it?s possible she?s supported him privately. In any case, Gal went on the record over the weekend:
While appearing on Israel?s N12 News to discuss her role as Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot claimed Justice League director Joss Whedon threatened her career, confirming previous reporting by The Hollywood Reporter.
In the interview, N12?s Yuna Leibzon mentioned to Gadot how previous reporting of her experiences with the director included him not approving of her trying to make changes in her character. ?He even said you should just be pretty and say your lines. You weren?t going to let him get away with it,? N12?s Yuna Leibzon asked Gadot, to which the actress responded ?No.?
?What I had with Joss basically is that he kind of threatened my career and said if I did something he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot,? Gadot said.
[From THR]
Joss Whedon is such a pig. I believed everything in THR?s report last month, and I believe Whedon had bragged to his bros that he put Gadot in her place and threatened her. I respect the way she and Patty Jenkins handled it. Justice League just sounds like it was a miserable experience from start to finish, my God.

| Gal Gadot in Givenchy at the VF Oscar Party: she should have worn this to the ceremony | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Were wrapping up our Oscar coverage this morning with some more fashion from the parties. Thats why covering the Oscars is tough. You stay up past 11 and just as youre done with the event photos a bunch of photos start coming in from the parties. I realize its ridiculous to complain about this cush job talking about celebrities though. Every year a few women show up to the Vanity Fair Oscar party in better dresses than they wore to the event. Gal Gadot was one of them. Remember the fussy ass Givenchy that Gal Gadot wore at the Oscars? There was too much happening. Here it is again:
Now heres the full length view of the Givenchy she wore to the VF party. This is the dress she should have had on all night! Look at her working this deep v-neck sequin tuxedo gown. It has shoulder pads too, which is perfectly awesome for the star of Wonder Woman: 1984. That movie is going to rock I cant wait. Its out June 4th.
Sandra Ohs Vanity Fair dress was only slightly better than the fug Elie Saab she wore to the Oscars. Heres a link to a photo of that. Instead of being an unholy combination of sequins and ruffles, its sequins and feathers. Six to one. This is Cong Tri.

| Gal Gadot didn't respond to James Cameron: 'he was looking for publicity' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Entertainment Weekly recently named Gal Gadot as one of their Entertainers of the Year. I am totally on board with her inclusion on that list. She carried the hugely successful Wonder Woman and was a big stand out in Justice League. Plus she’s a great ambassador for Wonder Woman. I like Gal, obviously. Right now, I adore her. This was Gal?s year and she knocked it out of the park.
Last Summer, you may remember that director James Cameron had some thoughts on the Wonder Woman film and how Patty Jenkin?s vision did not represent a true symbol of feminism. In fact, Cameron implied that only he represented feminine power correctly. At the time, Patty and former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter responded but Gal didn?t. In her EW interview, Gal explained how she didn?t want to give Cameron?s comments any space because that?s all he was looking for.
EW: Another big headline during your year was that James Cameron criticized the film as an objectified icon, which Patty had some strong feelings about. But I don?t think I?ve seen you weigh in on that?
GG: Because I didn?t want to give him the stage. First of all, I?m a big fan of his work. His movies are great. He was very innovative in many things that he did, and I?ve got nothing but great things to say about the creative and professional side of his work. When it happened, the timing of when it happened, he was promoting another movie of his. It was like he was looking for publicity and I just didn?t want to give him the stage.
[From Entertainment Weekly]
I understand what she?s saying. While I agree that he has made some valuable contributions professionally, I have many problems with Cameron. Yet, even with his colossal ego, it seemed like such a strange time for him to make a grab for the feminist spotlight. I know some of you agreed with his comments about WW and I respect that opinion, that wasn?t what was surprising. It was his insistence on holding himself up as the example of how to portray women. Even if you remove his silly ?strong women can?t be pretty? argument, I think it needed to be factored in that Patty and Gal were presenting a superhero who is iconic to many. They had to balance the expectations of the fans’ perception of Wonder Woman with a modern interpretation. If Cameron intentionally threw WW under the bus for publicity, then I think Gal handled it exactly as she should. I also think by her remaining mum on the subject, the whole thing went away quicker. I look forward to the day when society will allow for all types of female heroes/role models, there’s room for everyone.
As for the rest of the interview, it’s nice. Although Gal gives empty answers when she?d rather not discuss something, she’s always honest. She told a fun story about calling Patty the night the WW review embargo was lifted. Patty had been meditating and didn’t hear about it yet so they both squealed on the phone to each other. Gal completely side-stepped the ?how?d you feel about Justice League sucking? question. (Again, for the record, I really enjoyed Justice League and saw it twice but I do recognize it is a flawed film.) She also talked about hurting her back on the plane to China to promote WW. I missed the fact that Gal got hurt right at the start of the promotion. According to this interview, Gal was in so much pain she couldn?t even sit through the LA premiere. Even worse, she said she couldn?t hold her newborn baby so while the world was celebrating her success, she couldn?t. I hope she celebrates the hell out of Wonder Woman 2?s success to make up for it.

| Gal Gadot didn't get Brett Ratner fired from 'Wonder Woman' but she did her part | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

We heard over the weekend that Gal Gadot was using her newfound popularity and influence to get a dude fired. Brett Ratner was a producer and financier of Wonder Woman and the whole Batman/Superman franchise. Ratner has also been ?outed? in recent months as one of the Hollywood perverts who regularly abused his power and groped, harassed and assaulted multiple women over the years. Ratner?s company was supposed to produce the Wonder Woman sequel, and the story going around last weekend was that Gal Gadot threw her weight around and said that Warner Bros had to choose, because if Ratner was still involved, she would not be doing the sequel. I pointed out that WB had already suspended Ratner?s deal with the studio and it was likely a more ?corporate? decision than just Gal?s say-so. Anyway, Gal sort of confirmed all of that in her Today Show interview this week:

Lainey at LaineyGossip has been saying this whole time that Brett Ratner is the one we should be keeping our eyes on in the unfolding sexual harassment/abuse scandal rocking Hollywood. Harvey Weinstein was important, of course, but his power was already waning before the NY Times and New Yorker broke their stories. Brett Ratner was and is an incredibly powerful person still, and he has connections to a lot of the current power players operating in Hollywood today. Ratner?s RatPac-Dune helped produce Wonder Woman for Warner Bros, as well as the Batfleck movies and Justice League. Ratner and Warner Bros already ?severed ties? with each other two weeks ago. And now Gal Gadot is using whatever power she has to say that she will not take part in another Wonder Woman movie if Ratner is in any way involved:
?Wonder Woman? star Gal Gadot is continuing to battle accused Hollywood sexual harasser Brett Ratner by refusing to sign for a superhero sequel unless the movie-maker is completely killed from the franchise. A Hollywood source tells Page Six that Gadot ? who last month backed out of a dinner honoring Ratner, where she was due to present him with an award ? is taking a strong stance on sexual harassment in Hollywood and doesn?t want her hit ?Wonder Woman? franchise to benefit a man accused of sexual misconduct.
Ratner?s production company RatPac-Dune Entertainment helped produce ?Wonder Woman? as part of its co-financing deal with Warner Bros. The movie has grossed more than $400 million internationally, and Ratner?s company will take a healthy share of the profits. A Warner Bros. insider explained, ?Brett made a lot of money from the success of ?Wonder Woman,? thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won?t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.?
The source added of Israeli-born Gadot, ?She?s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can?t have a movie rooted in women?s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women.?
Earlier this month, Gadot posted on Instagram: ?Bullying and sexual harassment is unacceptable! I stand by all the courageous women confronting their fears and speaking out. Together we stand. We are all united in this time of change.?
Reps for Gadot and Ratner did not comment. A rep for Warner Bros said only, ?False.?
[From Page Six]
It honestly sounded like Warner Bros and Ratner were already working out their divorce, and Ratner was probably unlikely to have anything to do with the Wonder Woman franchise from here on out, but good on Gadot for insisting on it and throwing her weight around. They honestly couldn?t do a WW sequel without her – like, what are they going to do, recast the role after the enormous success of the first film? Of course not. I kind of wonder if Gadot has a personal story about Ratner too.
