She’s a well-known supporter of theatrical arts, and last night Sarah Jessica Parker hosted the Refugees International performance of the George Packer play “Betrayed.”
The “Sex and the City” babe traded in her Manhattan surroundings for some Washington DC digs as she meandered around the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater along with co-host Matt Dillon.

The Sex and The City sequel is moving forward and will start filming this year. The older stylish girlfriends proved popular at the box office four years after the television show wrapped and producers are eager to continue the franchise as long as it will make some cash. The actresses will all get million dollar paychecks again, with star Sarah Jessica Parker potentially earning a staggering $30 to $50 million depending on how well the second installment performs. She’s said to have negotiated a deal for a percentage of the profits that could prove quite lucrative for her:
Sarah Jessica Parker might soon displace Cameron Diaz as the world’s highest paid actress. According to an insider, the 43-year-old star could earn at least $30 million if the Sex and The City sequel does as well as the first movie, for which she was paid a reported $1 million. “The sequel is going to be even better with more of a story line,” the insider says. “It’s going to be a bit longer, too.” Sarah Jessica’s deal, which includes a producer credit, boosts an impressive salary, plus a cut of the box office. “She could even earn $50 million,” the insider adds.

That’s a massive amount of money that hardly seems justified, but it’s not uncommon in the industry for stars to receive a cut of the earnings that amounts to tens of millions. Parker is a producer of the series along with being a star and if male stars like Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise can cash in like that, women should be able to do it too.
I wonder what kind of plot they’ll come up with for the second installment. There are enough characters and plenty of possibilities. I was incredibly disappointed with the end of the last SATC movie - it was an anti-ending which felt like a let down. It was like poor Carrie wasn’t a fashionable feminist after all, just a sad single woman willing to take what she can get. Maybe she’ll finally find romance on her own terms this time.

Star Magazine Star told you first that Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband, Matthew Broderick, was cheating on her with a younger woman. Now they’re reporting that the Sex and the City star is house-hunting–solo!
In the Jan. 19 issue of Star ? on sale now! ? we report that while Sarah thought she could make it work with her straying mate, she recently visited a midtown real estate broker to help her find her own place.
“The time has come when she realizes it just isn’t worth it,” a friend of the couple tells Star. “Sarah Jessica is determined to get her own place and bring down the curtain on her marriage.”
Adds another insider: “Sarah’s not stupid. She knows exactly what’s going on. For a while it was easier for her to stay than go through a harsh divorce. They’re essentially living separate lives.”
Now that the holidays are over, the actress is revisiting her exit strategy, which takes into careful consideration the couple’s 6-year-old son, James Wilkie ? just about the only thing holding the pair together.
“They spent the holidays with him, pretending to be happy,” says another source. “SJP is a great actress when she has to be!”
Well, I’m glad that Sarah finally got the motivation she needed to finally become a great actress. I loved her in Seabicuit, but when all you do is wear a saddle and run around a racetrack, there’s not opportunity to stretch those acting chops.

Now that beacon of truth, Star magazine, is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker is moving out of their shared home, and is actively searching for an apartment.

I absolutely love that line - ?SJP is a great actress when she has to be!? - so, so tabloid. Because it?s Star, I tend not to believe it just as a general principal. But the steady stream of negativity about the Parker-Broderick marriage has been flowing for a while. Could it be that two working actors with a young son are simply going through a rough patch? Or is it something worse? To make matters even more confusing, after the holidays SJP was photographed with a bit of a ?holiday belly?, so there?s been a lot of gossip that she?s knocked up again. It?s anyone?s guess at this point.

Even though Star doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to rumors, this is something I can believe. SJP is so old and witch-like that every Halloween, instead of watching Friday the 13th, I put in Sex in the City on Blu-Ray. Try it. I guarantee that if you didn’t have a erection before, you’re not gonna have one for the next two weeks.

From book to television to movie, “Sex and the City” has always been overwhelmingly successful. And now plans for a sequel to 2008’s “Sex and the City: The Movie” are full speed ahead.
According to FOX Pop Tarts’ Hollie McKay, plans for a follow-up to last year’s uber-hit have been green-lighted, with all four main cast members securing deals with the studio.
