I mentioned this in the earlier Cameron Diaz post, but here it is again ? this week?s Hollywood Reporter features an excellent ?Actress Roundtable? ? Naomi Watts, Helen Hunt, Sally Field, Amy Adams, Rachel Weisz, Marion Cotillard and Anne Hathaway, all sitting around and talking about work and Hollywood and their fears and such. There?s a lot of somewhat interesting information, but I?m just going to focus on Anne Hathaway in this post. You can read THR’s story here ? I would recommend it! I think Rachel Weisz comes across the best, quite honestly. She seems comfortable in her own skin. As for Anne ? look at what she?s wearing in these awful photos! The same horrible Marchesa dress that Kristen Stewart wore to the SWATH premiere months ago! I hated that dress on K-Stew, and I loathe it on Annie. Here are some highlights from Anne?s part of the discussion:
Anne?s biggest fear: ?I always think I’m terrible. So it’s always a relief when I find out that I wasn’t. I’ve had roles where I realized that I was in way over my head — and that is my biggest fear. My biggest fear is overreaching. I have been in situations where I felt swamped, and it’s turned out really well; and I’ve had other situations where I’ve had to walk off the film after five minutes because I realized I was in way over my head.
Walking out of her films: ?Yeah. I’ve had a couple of films that I just can’t watch. The experience that I’m thinking of — and I will not say which one — I tried to get out of it because I just knew from a technical standpoint I wasn’t going to have enough time to prep and I just talked myself into it. It was just too good of an opportunity to pass up and I thought, “I can get there, I can do this.” And when you don’t feel that you got there, it’s always going to just gnaw at you.?
On hosting the Oscars: ?Oh, scars. I went into it with a lot of trust and a lot of hope, and I had a blast doing it. And I realized afterwards, I played to the house; it’s a 3,500-seat theater, so I was just shooting energy to the back of it and it was like a party! It was great! And I think it looked slightly manic and “hyper-cheerleadery” onscreen. But I have no regrets about doing it. Oh God, no [I didn?t watch a tape]! Whether or not it was an actual failure, it was perceived as a massive failure.?
Annie wants babies: ?I really want to have a baby, and my husband and I are like, ?Where are we gonna live???
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
So I guess Anne isn?t currently pregnant, but she will be soon enough? Here I was, thinking that she would make a baby bump part of her Oscar campaign! I guess not. Us Weekly?s sources say that Anne?s definitely got babies on the brain too, and that it should be happening soon. What I?m saying though is that she?s running out of time to use a potential pregnancy as part of Oscar campaign strategy ? it?s almost December! Of course, she could be pregnant right now? and an announcement might come mid-January (in time for the Globes!). That might work.

| Anne Hathaway in a Victoria Beckham LBD in NYC: adorable or budget? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some new photos of Anne Hathaway last night at the 2012 Women?s Media Awards. Anne acted as the host of the evening, saying: ?I am a supporter of the Women?s Media Center. I believe in their ongoing mission and advocacy for women and girls worldwide to be more visible and powerful through a variety of important programs & initiatives.? Anne wore this Victoria Beckham LBD ? it?s cute, right? I like this on her. Anne often defaults to white or black dresses, and I prefer her in black. She still looks really slim to me ? she told Vogue that she ended up losing 25 pounds in total during Les Miserables, and that to lose weight (to look like she was dying), she only ate ?two thin squares of oatmeal paste a day.?
In Anne?s Vogue story, she also made an oblique reference to her next film role, but she also confirmed the part to Empire Online yesterday too. She?s going to be in Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse! Annie?s going to do sci-fi! Not just any sci-fi either ? a sci-fi with Steven Spielberg and Chris Hemsworth.
Recently linked with the blockbuster – now firmly in pre-production even as Spielberg attends to his Lincoln publicity duties – Hathaway has officially confirmed her involvement in the movie.
“If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it,” she tells Empire, “and I believe it?s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.”
Keeping mum on her character (“I’m back in Secretville”), Hathaway elaborated on the allure of the project. “Whenever I?m taking time off, I always joke to my team that I?m on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And I was on vacation and Spielberg called. So I was like, ?OK, put my money where my mouth is?.”
[From Empire]
Robopocalypse is based on the Daniel H. Wilson novel (of the same name) about a robot revolution and artificial intelligence and about whether humans can overcome the machines. It sounds a lot like all of the Terminators, only I guess the book is told through flashback maybe? You can read more about the film here. It will probably begin filming early next year.
PS? I love her manicure.

| Anne Hathaway covers Vogue, campaigns hard for her Oscar: try-hard or worthy? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Anne Hathaway covers the December issue of Vogue Magazine, and it?s becoming increasingly clear that Annie really, really wants her Oscar and she thinks Les Miserables is the way she?s going to get it. I do think this is probably her year to win it ? especially if she?s nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category. If she shoots for the stars and calls the part ?Best Actress? material? then I don?t know. Anyway, the Vogue story is online and you can read it here. It?s very, very heavy on the Les Mis details and there are interviews with nearly everyone involved with the production ? it?s kind of cute how much Hugh Jackman loves Anne, and to their credit, it sounds like all of the actors got along really well. As for this pictorial? rough. Very rough. These Annie Leibovitz photos are not good. Some highlights from the interview:
Anne on cutting her hair off: ?I love the short-haired lifestyle,? Hathaway tells me with a laugh (she laughs a lot). ?It?s awesome that I was able to go for a hike right before I came here to meet you, quickly wash my hair, and now it?s dry.? The only downside, she says, is having to get her hair cut every three weeks. ?But I?m turning 30, and?I hope this isn?t obnoxious to say?I feel prettier, and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now.?
Pres. Obama called Anne ?the best thing? in The Dark Knight Rises: ?I?m a blusher, and just being inches from him, I went scarlet from the tips of my toes to the tops of my ears.?
Auditioning for Les Mis: ?I knew that someone was going to have to go in there and do something pretty special to unseat me,? she says. ?Sometimes you leave a room and you feel like maybe you?ve left the door open a crack. This time, I knew that I had slammed it shut behind me.?
Losing weight for the role: Before the start of shooting, she went on a strict cleanse and lost ten pounds, which in the early scenes of the film gives her a gossamer quality. She then took two weeks off and lost another fifteen pounds by following a near-starvation diet, consisting of two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste a day. ?I had to be obsessive about it?the idea was to look near death,? she recalls. ?Looking back on the whole experience?and I don?t judge it in any way?it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that?s who Fantine is anyway.?
Singing ?I Dreamed a Dream.? It?s not only one of the show?s most beloved power ballads but an operatic cry of the heart from a woman at the end of the line that, in the wrong hands, could easily descend into kitsch. ?A few weeks before we filmed it, I realized how I was going to have to sing it, and that it wasn?t going to be pretty,? Hathaway says. ?First of all, it could never have compared with Patti LuPone or Lea Salonga??both of whom have played Fantine onstage??or even my mom, really: powerful singers with big, beautiful voices. I knew I couldn?t offer that, but I also knew it wouldn?t be appropriate. If I went for sounding beautiful while looking like this tragic wreck, it would be ridiculous. And I saw an opportunity, because of the nature of film, to just go for it and let it be alive and present and raw.?
Close cast: ?Everybody was really pulling for each other on this,? Hathaway recalls. ?And I think that came from the fact that we were all doing something so different and so potentially disastrous.? It helped that Crowe threw parties at his apartment on Friday nights. You may not know that Crowe got his start in musical theater (check out his performance of ?Hot Patootie?Bless My Soul? from a 1987 Melbourne production of The Rocky Horror Show on YouTube); he has also been the front man for a series of rock bands over the years. For his weekly get-togethers, Crowe made sure that everyone had enough to drink and then gathered them around the piano to perform. Some of the highlights of those nights were Hathaway?s account of ?The Man That Got Away,? Seyfried?s rendition of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss?s ?Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us,? and a group version of, yes, Adele?s ?Someone Like You.? ?Considering how miserable I was on set every day, some of my happiest memories are from those sing-alongs,? Hathaway says. ?After that, once we got in front of the cameras, it didn?t feel weird bursting into song around each other.?
Coming out of the Les Mis production: ?I was in such a state of deprivation?physical and emotional. When I got home, I couldn?t react to the chaos of the world without being overwhelmed,? she says. ?It took me weeks till I felt like myself again. The first time I really threw everything into a part, which was when I did Rachel Getting Married, there was no one waiting for me when I got back. This time, Adam was there. He gets what I do and who I am and supports me in it, and that?s pretty awesome.?
On her wedding: ?Oh, my God, I had a blast. Our friends stayed and partied and danced till really late.?
Her wedding dress: The wedding dress, as you?ve probably read, was designed by her good friend Valentino, whom she met while shooting The Devil Wears Prada and describes as ?family?like some wonderful, non-age-specific sibling.? They didn?t always agree. ?I begged him during the first fitting to make the train detachable. He looked at me and said??she imitates the designer?s distinctively refined Italian accent?? ?But it is a dress, not a costume.? The memory of creating it with him is something that I will treasure forever. He somehow read my mind and designed the dress that I?d always wanted.?
She wants to be a mom: ?And now, of course, with me having this beyond-my-wildest-dreams success in my own career?and beyond the success, the joy I take just getting to be an actor?knowing what that must have been like for her to put that aside for the good of her children. Oh, my God. I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely. I think about it all the time, though it?s a silly thing to think about because the kind of mother I?ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can?t wait to meet them.? For now, she feels as if she?s right where she?s meant to be. ?I?d feel a little silly and overly dramatic to say that this feels like destiny,? she says. ?But to have this come full circle in such a spectacular way?it?s making me very happy.? She thinks about it for a moment and laughs. ?OK, it feels a little like destiny.?
[From Vogue]
Dear Academy: Annie WANTS it. She really, really wants it. She talked about her wedding. She talked about babies. She will campaign hard for her Oscar. You better give it to her.

Actress Anne Hathaway was married over the weekend, but I’m only now getting around to posting about it, because I was holding out hope that something more interesting would come along. Sadly, that was not the case today, my friends. According to Us Magazine:
The Princess Diaries actress, 29, married actor and jewelry designer Adam Shulman, 31, in Big Sur, California. The bride wore a custom dress by Valentino, featuring a long train and elaborate veil.
“They seemed incredibly happy and in love,” an eyewitness tells Us Weekly. “They were posing for pictures after the wedding and seemed giddy and on an adrenaline high.”
Weddings make me giddy and high, too. Of course, it helps that I always bring a flask and a dimebag with me. Especially if it’s my own wedding. It’s the only way to make holy matrimony tolerable.
You and I could never afford a real Valentino wedding dress, but you could wear this white Valentino top as a really slutty wedding dress and tell all your friends it was haute couture, even if they could see your cooter.

Over the weekend, Anne Hathaway married her non-shady boyfriend Adam Shulman at a private residence in Big Sur, California. Wearing a Valentino dress, Hathaway tied the knot in front of more than 150 family and friends.
“Anne was ecstatic with how everything turned out and so in love with Adam. She was walking on air and never stopped smiling. He was doting on her, rubbing her back and helping her with her dress every step she took. At the party, they went around hugging and kissing all of their guests, making sure to say hello. They had a wonderful time and it definitely seemed like the best day of their lives.”
The couple’s nuptials took place in a marquee set up for the occasion surrounded by tall pine trees. All the decor was vintage and nature-inspired with branches and twigs, and there were ivory colored roses set up on wooden tables inside the tent. E!
Though you wouldn’t know it was so picturesque just by looking at the photos. It looks like they were in the middle of the dessert and at least one of them was about to find their way into a shallow grave.

Holding hands with fianc Adam Shulman, Anne Hathaway went to an IKAR event at a Jewish community center in Los Angeles today (September 17).
The "Les Miserables" star shared a smooch with her beau while wearing a long sleeved black shirt, black skirt, nylons, and heeled boots.
While the happy couple can barely keep their hands off each other in public, they are waiting a little longer to make it official.
According to Now!, the 29-year-old stage and screen actress had hopes to wed Adam this year. The source reveals, "She wanted to get married this year, but she had to cut her hair short for Les Miserables and she's waiting for it to grow back."
Because of Anne's busy schedule, the couple haven't been able to plan a wedding since their engagement last November. She admitted to Showbiz Spy earlier this summer, "We?re getting married, probably sometime next year-ish. Not this year, its too big with two films coming out."

These are some photos of Anne Hathaway and her fianc Adam Shulman arriving in London last week ? I simply never got around to posting these before. From what I?ve heard, Adam was at both the New York and London premieres of The Dark Knight Rises, but they didn?t walk the red carpet together and I don?t even think Adam posed on any of the red carpets solo. Anne?s all, ?Know your place, dude. Ten paces BEHIND ME.? Not surprisingly, in a new interview with Hello Magazine (done before the Colorado massacre), Anne lets everyone know that she?s not really in a rush to get married, and it doesn?t even sound like she and Adam have made any plans thus far:
Anne Hathaway has revealed she has been ‘so busy’ that she hasn’t yet had time to plan her wedding to fiance Adam Shulman. But despite her lack of planning the 29-year-old is already looking to the future – and starting a family with the actor.
‘We?re getting married, probably sometime next yearish,’ she said. ‘Not this year – it?s too big with two films coming out.’
The couple have yet to set a date after becoming engaged late last year after three years of dating.
‘I haven?t started planning yet,’ Anne told Britain’s Hello magazine. ‘I was filming Les Mis when we decided to do it, and there was no way I could think about anything wedding-

| Anne Hathaway in metallic Gucci at the UK 'TDKR' premiere: beautiful or busted' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s UK premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. This post is just for the girls! I mean, the girls at the premiere. As you may remember, I kind of hated Anne Hathaway?s fug white dress (with a nonsensical peplum) at the NYC premiere. I ended up siding with Marion Cotillard and her ruffled Dior in the Style Battle Royale. For this UK premiere? I?m not in love with either Anne or Marion?s looks. I?m tilting more towards Anne just because ? while I think she totally could have chosen a better dress ? this dress is actually kind of interesting. I want to keep looking at it and studying it and trying to figure out why it doesn?t work from one angle (full-on) but it looks rather sexy from another (half-profile).
Anne?s dress is Gucci, by the way. Some outlets are calling this ?gold? but in these photos, I feel like there?s a greenish tint to the metallic fabric. Whatever it is, the color does work on her. I just wish the whole dress had been this slinky metallic and we didn?t have to mess with a g?damn AUTUMN WREATH on the neck. Also: I?m not hating her hair so much here.
Should we discuss Anne?s alleged pregnancy? The dress is baggy enough that I think we could discuss it. Fine, I?ll say it. She looks pregnant. There. It could just be an Angelina-Jolie-esque sack dress, or Annie could be with child. You decide.
As for Marion Cotillard, she wore Dior, of course. I feel like the color combination is kind of trashy and try-hard. Obviously, Dior didn?t want to be ?matchy-matchy? but I think there?s too much clashing here. The skirt would have been cute with a black blouse, and the bustier would have been cute if the whole dress was made from that fabric. But put those two pieces together with a gold belt (fug), pink-red heels (eh), a fire-engine red purse (cute) and a different shade of red lipstick, and the whole thing is just? meh.
Peaches Geldof was there too. I don?t hate her dress, but she?s ruining it by stepping on it.

Don’t knock Anne Hathaway’s new hair, because I’ve had that very same haircut before. Of course, I was six and I had lice and my mom gave it to me because she was too drunk to drive to the store for some RID, but still. That ‘do probably took her stylist half a bottle of Thunderbird to create.
