I?ve been wanting to talk about this stuff for DAYS but we?ve only just gotten these new photos of Anne Hathaway, so I?m using them as an excuse to discuss all things Raffaello Follieri. First, these are new photos of Anne and her fianc Adam Shulman at LAX, heading onto a flight to NYC, then arriving in NYC the same day (yesterday). Anne?s newly-shorn hair is definitely looking a bit better. I think she might even be rocking a slight faux-hawk in some of these pics, which? would be an awesome look for her. She chopped it off for Les Miserables, and I think it?s going to be a bitch for her to grow back. I?m predicting some really awkward stages.
Anyway, I find the timing of these photos very interesting. Anne was in England filming for months. Then she went to Miami. Then she went to LA. It was almost like she was avoiding the northeastern seaboard like the plague. So what was going on? Well, her ex-fianc Raffaello Follieri was just released from jail yesterday. Remember him? The Vati-CON scandal? Annie was engaged to a con man who grifted millions of dollars from several very prominent, important people under the auspices of some Vatican land scheme – when in truth he was just financing his glitzy lifestyle with Anne. Follieri has been in federal prison (in Pennsylvania) since 2008, and he was just released this week. He was immediately deported to Italy:
Anne Hathaway?s con-man ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is about to be released from jail after serving nearly four years ? and faces deportation back to Italy, Page Six can reveal. Follieri was jailed for 4 1/2 years in October 2008 after he pleaded guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. Follieri is due out [Thursday] and will be handed over to federal officials to arrange his deportation.
A spokesman for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told The Post?s Bruce Golding: ?It is anticipated that Mr. Follieri will enter ICE custody for removal after his release . . . ICE does not discuss removal plans with the public due to privacy and safety concerns.?
Follieri and Hathaway dated for four years but split in June 2008 just before his arrest. She is now engaged to Adam Shulman.
Follieri?s spokesperson and friend Melanie A. Bonvicino told us, ?After my visit with Raffaello last week in Loretto federal prison, where he has for the past 48 months focused solely on his education, charitable endeavors and physical transformation, it is my understanding from counsel, that he is indeed to be transferred into the custody of ICE for immediate processing and subsequent deportation back to Italy where he is expected to be released into the care of his family.?
She added Follieri, ?Expects to resume his role at the helm of the Follieri Group.?

Er? Follieri expects to return to The Follieri Group? Poor guy. I mean, he?s a con artist and he stole money and it was one of the most interesting confidence schemes of the past ten years or so, but still. I feel like he?s probably pretty delusional – like he conned himself too. I wonder what Anne thinks about all of this? I would imagine that the prosecutors or somebody gave her a heads up a few weeks before everything went down. It’s always interesting to remember this backstory with Anne – and how in the world did she manage to come out of it unscathed?

Out running her daily errands, Anne Hathaway was spotted making her way around Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday (May 22).
The "Les Miserables" actress looked thin and toned in a flowing maxi dress with black sandals and her new short do, which she has been sporting for her musical acting gig.
In other career news, the brunette beauty has also been featured in her new role as Catwoman in posters for the film "The Dark Knight Rises."
In the new sultry posters, the 29-year-old star looks stunning in her figure-hugging black full body outfit which she seems to love it just as much as she previously explained, "I love the costume because everything has a purpose. Nothing is in place for fantasy's sake, and that's the case with everything in Christopher Nolan's Gotham City."
The film, which is set to release July 20 takes place eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face's crimes. Now a new terrorist leader Bane ( Tom Hardy) overwhelms Gotham's finest and the Dark Knight ( Christian Bale) resurfaces to protect a city that has branded him an enemy.

After taking care of a few errands, Anne Hathaway was spotted arriving at her Beverly Hills home yesterday afternoon (May 21).
The ?Princess Diaries? actress rolled up to her crib in her snazzy new silver Audi R8 convertible, flashing a smile to the shutterbugs as she walked inside.
As for her role in the upcoming ?The Dark Knight Rises,? Anne told press she had a blast playing Catwoman.
"There were some days when I was wearing the catsuit for a long time and I had to fight 15 guys, and I just wanted to shout from the rooftops how excited I am. It's an incredible role. It's one of the most famous comic-book characters for a woman. But, also, it's Catwoman in this franchise."

After spending some beach time with her mom while on a break, Anne Hathaway was seen making her way through Miami International Airport to catch a flight out of town on Saturday (May 11).
"The Devil Wears Prada " actress looked chic with her short hair in a white button down dress, light scarf and sunglasses as she posed for a picture with an excited fan and toted her luggage through security.
Her chopped locks isn't the only dramatic change this sexy starlet made for her role in "Les Miserables." The brunette beauty plays the role of a dying prostitute in the film and is now on a restricted 500 calorie diet, which is a significant decrease from the standard 2,000 calories a day that she was used to.
When filming began, the 29-year-old was reportedly a size 10 and was told by director Tom Hooper to drop 16 pounds in 20 days to make her character's death bed scenes more realistic.
The Hollywood adapted musical boasts an A-list cast including Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe and is set to hit theaters in December.

Anne Hathaway romped around the ocean in Miami in a black bikini today without her $150,000 engagement ring while sporting her pixie cut that doesn’t really work for her because it exaggerates her already exaggerated features. She just looks like a living, breathing caricature of herself now.

Working on her suntan, Anne Hathaway was spotted out on the beach in Miami, Florida this afternoon (May 11).
The ?Princess Diaries? starlet was joined by her mother, model Nacho Figueras, as she pranced around in the ocean while sporting a skimpy black bikini.
Anne will be starring in ?The Dark Knight Rises? as catwoman, and Michelle Pfeiffer (who played the same role in the 1992 flick ?Batman Returns?) told press that it will surely be something to look forward to.
Michelle gushed, ?I love Anne Hathaway, I?m a huge fan. The nature of all of these characters is they?re played by different people all the time. I think she?s great and I think she?s going to be awesome.?

These are photos of Anne Hathaway on the London set of Les Miserables a few weeks ago. As you can see, this was when Anne was freshly shorn for her role as Fantine. I?m still not crazy about the cut, but at least Anne didn?t do it to be trendy – she did it for the character, because she?s THAT committed to the role. And she probably thinks the dramatic hair cut will help with her Oscar chances too. But I?m worried about Anne, Oscar campaign or no Oscar campaign. This hair cut does not look cute on her, and I worry that it?s going to be really rough on her as she grows it out. I could be wrong, of course. But I don?t think Anne will be able to pull of a gamine pixie cut with her features.
Another thing that?s worrying me about Anne: her weight loss. She looks thinner in these photos, and there have been several reports about the ?crash diet? she?s on so that she can look deathly for the role. The Mail reported a month ago that Anne was trying to lose 16 pounds in three weeks, and now The Mail claims that to keep the weight off (temporarily), Anne is subsisting on 500 calories a day:

She?s not talking for eight hours at a time when she isn?t working and gargling with egg whites to coat her throat and keep her vocals silky-smooth,? says a source. ?She knows this is the ultimate test as to whether she?s a credible musical star.?

Poor Anne. I wonder how much longer she has on the film. Probably only a few weeks more, I?d think. And then it?s back to talking like a regular person and eating real food. I?ve never heard of the ?gargling with egg whites? thing. Does that work? All I?ve heard is stuff about tea and honey.
You know what sucks for Anne? Next up for her is the promotion for The Dark Knight Rises. She?s going to have to do a month full of red carpets and interviews with this hair. Poor Annie. Incidentally, at CinemaCon last week, the chairman of Universal debuted some footage of Les Mis, and it just happened to be Anne singing ?I Dreamed A Dream?. Yeah? the studio is totally making Anne the centerpiece of the Oscar campaign for Les Miserables. So? there?s the payoff.

She?s dedicated to her craft, and Anne Hathaway has taken drastic means to get into her character while filming ?Les Miserables.?
The ?Get Smart? actress, who was spotted alongside co-star Hugh Jackman on the set on Wednesday (April 18), plays doomed prostitute Fantine in the flick and has survived on just 500 calories a day since pre-production to really look authentically frail.
An insider told press, ?Anne is playing a destitute factory worker-come-lady of the night. Unfortunately, she only has 15 to 20 days to lose as much weight as possible - up to a stone-and-a-half - because she?s been filming the scenes showing her fit and healthy, almost slightly chubby.?
?It?s not ideal but, as with any high-budget movie, there are strict time constraints. Producers have assigned her a personal trainer and she is literally eating nothing more than a couple of apples a day, and some protein ? mainly in the form of a shake.?
