Promoting her latest film, Anne Hathaway was spotted greeting fans after an interview on the "Today" show in New York City, New York on Thursday (July 12).
Sporting sunglasses to shield her eyes from the flashing cameras, the "Love and Other Drugs" actress posed for a round of pictures with some eager fans looking fabulous in a floral print dress with a lace collar.
Talking about her role as Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises", Anne admitted her character had "a little bit to do" with Batman coming back to Gotham, but refused to give anything else away about the film, telling "Today's" Matt Lauer, "I can't send you a bat signal because they don't work in the daytime."
When asked about her favorite part of the movie, Anne thought for a moment before replying, "I love the fighting. I really did not expect to love the fighting as much as I did I'm a fairly low-key person but it turns out I really like to kick."
Anne also confessed that - when she saw her batty co-star Christian Bale in costume for the first time - she was flustered, reminiscing, "That was cool.... A fantasy, indeed. I had a total fan moment the first time he spoke in the Batman voice. I just like kind of giggled, it was a little unprofessional but I couldn't help it."
As for her tight leather Catwoman costume, the 29-year-old said it was "a little too big and I thought that I might stress myself out if I focused too much about how it was looking."
In the end, the actress credits the director for being able to really tap into her character, stating, "It would have been really scary if Chris Nolan had not been the one directing it.... You do this long enough, you have good moments, you have bad moments, good films, bad films, and it can make you a little gun shy about really letting go.... But if you can't trust Chris Nolan ... I don't know who you can trust."

It?s always a treat when she makes an appearance, and yesterday (July 11) Anne Hathaway dropped by ?The Late Show with David Letterman.?
The ?Get Smart? starlet was all smiles outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, sporting a gorgeous fringed black dress as she greeted fans and press.
With the interview set to air tonight (July 12), Anne was in the house to promote her forthcoming movie ?The Dark Knight Rises,? which will be hitting theaters on July 20th.
She?ll be at the big NYC premiere next week, and after the fanfare dies down Ms. Hathaway will likely grab some time off with her handsome fiance Adam Shulman.

These are some photos of Anne Hathaway over the past two days. On Tuesday night, Anne went with Adam Shulman to the premiere of Shut Up and Play The Hits ? those are the pics where she?s wearing a black mini-dress and flats. Then last night Anne was photographed entering The Ed Sullivan Theater on her way to appear on The Late Show. I keep going back and forth on her hair. Over the weekend, it looked cute and gamine. Now I?m focusing too much on her awkward baby-bangs. They?re not good.
Anyway, Anne?s press tour for The Dark Knight Rises has already begun. Oddly enough, Anne seems like she?s the only one doing press for the film so far. Is it too much to hope for some Tom Hardy interviews? Maybe some Joseph Gordon Levitt appearances? I don?t give a crap about Christian Bale ? he can do whatever. I just hope everything doesn?t fall to Annie. That being said, it?s feeling more and more like Anne is going to be exceptionally ?well-reviewed? for her performance as Catwoman. Christopher Nolan even told Access Hollywood that he wouldn?t be surprised if Anne got her own Catwoman spinoff film! Nolan said, ?Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She’s really built it from the ground up, it’s just a delight to watch her perform. The things she does in those heels is not to be taken lightly. She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more. I certainly think she deserves [a spinoff], she’s incredible.”
Anne also has some new interviews. There?s nothing earth-shattering, but I found some of the quotes interesting. Some selected highlights:
Training for Catwoman: “It wasn’t just about looking a certain way. I had to learn how to fight. I had to become strong. I feel in situations like this ? I don’t know what other actresses have gone through ? but sometimes there’s a mandate that comes to you and deals with how you have to look. The way I was treated on this movie was, ‘Learn how to do what you need to do and then however you look, that’s the way the character looks. And I felt, as a woman, very protected in that way.”
Doing stunts in stilettos: “It’s part of being a woman, you just figure it out. The Devil Wears Prada was really good training for that, though. I kind of ran all up and down Manhattan. Now I just ran up and down Gotham.”
But Nolan did basically tell her she needed to be incredibly fit: “When I got the part, Chris [Nolan] said, ‘So, there’s going to a lot of fighting and when we did Inception, Joe [Joseph Gordon-Levitt] got in really good shape. Joe went to the gym for months so that when we did his fight scenes, he did his own fighting. I really liked that.’ I said, ‘Gotcha. I am reading between the lines here.’ So I went to the gym and came out when we wrapped. And it was a complete transformation. I had never done anything like that.”
Being one of the first people to read TDKR script: “I was in a room by myself reading a script. I think there was a guard outside. A part of me was trying to stay professional, like, ‘This is going to be your one chance to read it for many, many months, so really take it in’. And a part of me was like, ‘Holy s**t! This is so cool! Oh my god! I am the envy of so many million people right now’. I just could not believe my luck, so I had those two things going. Keeping it cool and, pardon the pun, bats**t crazy.”
She studied the history of Catwoman: “I picked up The Dark Knight archives, and I picked up a book that explored the history of Catwoman, which was actually really, really helpful ‘cos you just realise she can take anything. She’s so the embodiment of her time and whatever world she’s in. I’ve seen versions where she’s incredibly glamorous, and I’ve seen versions where she’s a street kid, and that kind of informed my idea in that part of the way she cons people is she seamlessly and effortlessly becomes whatever their idea of who she is, is.”

Basically, Christopher Nolan she better start working out like crazy and training all the time and then however she looked after all of that was just going to be how Catwoman looked. And that made her feel ?protected?. I guess I just don?t understand that kind of discipline ? I?ve never been able to DO that and I can imagine how worn out she would feel. At least it?s a spectacular payoff ? playing a beloved character in what will be the biggest movie of the year.
Is ?Catwoman? the reason Anne has been wearing all black lately?

Stepping out to enjoy a movie-filled evening, Anne Hathaway was seen making her way into the Village East Cinema in New York City on Tuesday (July 10) for the premiere screening of "Shut Up and Play The Hits."
The "Les Miserables" actress looked effortlessly chic in a black lace dress and heels as she posed for the awaiting photographers and even greeted awaiting fans before heading in for night's event.
As for the film, the new Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern directed documentary follows the final show at Madison Square Garden by LCD Soundsystem. The movie follows the band's once-in-a-lifetime performance as well as portraying an intimate portrait of James Murphy as he navigates the anticipation for the show and everything in between.

When Anne Hathaway was filming Les Miserables in London, we heard all about her extreme dieting and how she was doing all of this crazy stuff to get into her character (Fantine). Annie just confirmed some of those stories in her recent Allure interview – she talked about how she was living on hummus and radishes, which was causing her to break out. Plus, she chopped off her pretty long hair for the character too. So this is what her fianc is dealing with: a girl who is having drastic mood swings because she?s on such an extreme diet, a girl who is probably weak and tired all of the time from lack of caloric intake, plus she?s got pimples and barely any hair. Sounds like a dream fiance. THAT is why they make you take vows. But according to Star, Annie?s guy Adam Shulman has had enough:
When Adam Shulman proposed to Anne Hathaway last November, it seemed like the on-screen princess had finally found her Prince Charming. But the couple, who have been together since 2008, are going through a serious rough patch, with pals concerned about how bad it?s getting, a source tells Star.
?Annie and Adam have been bickering a lot recently,? the source confides. ?It all started when she went on those radical diets for Les Miserables. They made her moody and irritable, and it really caused issues for them.?
And that?s not all: Adam hates her new haircut and frail figure, the source said. ?He loved her long, brown hair. He?s going around telling people his fiance looks like a sickly little boy.?
With Anne so body and work obsessed, suddenly all talk about kids has also halted.
?He?s really upset, because they were on this family track and now all Anne can talk about it work,? the source explains. ?Adam was trying to be nice to her, but she?s not exactly the girl he fell in love with anymore.?

For God?s sake. I mean, I can understand how all of that can put a strain on the relationship, but complaining about it (privately or publicly) just seems petty. Her hair will grow out. She won?t be on the extreme diet forever. Enough with the ?she?s not exactly the girl he fell in love with anymore? – it makes him sound like a superficial wang. I hope he’s not really like that.

These are some new photos from Stella McCartney?s Spring Presentation at her NYC store last night. Anne Hathaway was the big ?get? of the evening, and I actually like Anne?s crisp white suit, which is by Stella. So? maybe Stella does have a few good designs? Maybe Stella should just stick with menswear-inspired clothes? Because I almost always hate Stella?s gowns. Anyway?
Anne does look pretty cute. Her hair makes me nervous, though. It?s too short for her face, and it?s going to be so awkward as it grows out. I like that she didn?t go for a long weave immediately, although I kind of wonder if Anne is going to employ some fake hair in the months to come. She?s got the world promotional tour for The Dark Knight Rises in a month, and then nothing for a few months, and then she starts promoting Les Miserables. I?m just saying? that?s a lot of camera time when you?re trying to grow out your hair.
Also – this is just a weird sidenote – Anne was sporting a sling for the past few weeks, and now she?s not. It could have just been a sprain that heeled miraculously fast. Or it could be a conspiracy. ???

Making the most of the beautiful weather, Anne Hathaway was seen out for a walk in Brooklyn, New York today (May 30).
The ?Get Smart? actress met a male friend for lunch at a local eatery, sporting a sling around her right arm due to a recent injury.
In career news, Anne?s forthcoming film ?Les Miserables? has just released its first official teaser trailer.
Slated for a December 14th, 2012 release, ?Les Mis? also stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, and Eddie Redmayne.

I?ve been wanting to talk about this stuff for DAYS but we?ve only just gotten these new photos of Anne Hathaway, so I?m using them as an excuse to discuss all things Raffaello Follieri. First, these are new photos of Anne and her fianc Adam Shulman at LAX, heading onto a flight to NYC, then arriving in NYC the same day (yesterday). Anne?s newly-shorn hair is definitely looking a bit better. I think she might even be rocking a slight faux-hawk in some of these pics, which? would be an awesome look for her. She chopped it off for Les Miserables, and I think it?s going to be a bitch for her to grow back. I?m predicting some really awkward stages.
Anyway, I find the timing of these photos very interesting. Anne was in England filming for months. Then she went to Miami. Then she went to LA. It was almost like she was avoiding the northeastern seaboard like the plague. So what was going on? Well, her ex-fianc Raffaello Follieri was just released from jail yesterday. Remember him? The Vati-CON scandal? Annie was engaged to a con man who grifted millions of dollars from several very prominent, important people under the auspices of some Vatican land scheme – when in truth he was just financing his glitzy lifestyle with Anne. Follieri has been in federal prison (in Pennsylvania) since 2008, and he was just released this week. He was immediately deported to Italy:
Anne Hathaway?s con-man ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is about to be released from jail after serving nearly four years ? and faces deportation back to Italy, Page Six can reveal. Follieri was jailed for 4 1/2 years in October 2008 after he pleaded guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. Follieri is due out [Thursday] and will be handed over to federal officials to arrange his deportation.
A spokesman for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told The Post?s Bruce Golding: ?It is anticipated that Mr. Follieri will enter ICE custody for removal after his release . . . ICE does not discuss removal plans with the public due to privacy and safety concerns.?
Follieri and Hathaway dated for four years but split in June 2008 just before his arrest. She is now engaged to Adam Shulman.
Follieri?s spokesperson and friend Melanie A. Bonvicino told us, ?After my visit with Raffaello last week in Loretto federal prison, where he has for the past 48 months focused solely on his education, charitable endeavors and physical transformation, it is my understanding from counsel, that he is indeed to be transferred into the custody of ICE for immediate processing and subsequent deportation back to Italy where he is expected to be released into the care of his family.?
She added Follieri, ?Expects to resume his role at the helm of the Follieri Group.?

Er? Follieri expects to return to The Follieri Group? Poor guy. I mean, he?s a con artist and he stole money and it was one of the most interesting confidence schemes of the past ten years or so, but still. I feel like he?s probably pretty delusional – like he conned himself too. I wonder what Anne thinks about all of this? I would imagine that the prosecutors or somebody gave her a heads up a few weeks before everything went down. It’s always interesting to remember this backstory with Anne – and how in the world did she manage to come out of it unscathed?

The "Les Miserables" actress looked thin and toned in a flowing maxi dress with black sandals and her new short do, which she has been sporting for her musical acting gig.
In other career news, the brunette beauty has also been featured in her new role as Catwoman in posters for the film "The Dark Knight Rises."
In the new sultry posters, the 29-year-old star looks stunning in her figure-hugging black full body outfit which she seems to love it just as much as she previously explained, "I love the costume because everything has a purpose. Nothing is in place for fantasy's sake, and that's the case with everything in Christopher Nolan's Gotham City."
The film, which is set to release July 20 takes place eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face's crimes. Now a new terrorist leader Bane ( Tom Hardy) overwhelms Gotham's finest and the Dark Knight ( Christian Bale) resurfaces to protect a city that has branded him an enemy.
