Here are some new photos of Mariah Carey at the big Jenny Craig news conference and photo call officially making her the latest face of ?Jenny? (Jenny Craig?s new trademarked name, I guess). Don?t get me wrong, she looks GREAT. She?s lost weight, she got a blow out, and I?m guessing she?s double or triple-Spanx-ing it, and that?s why the dress seems a little baggy in the waist. Plus, she?s sucking it in. Bless her. I love Mariah. Even when she?s doing a press conference for a weight loss program, she?s still going to Spanx it up and suck it in. Here are some gems from the press conference:
When she was heavy, she always covered up: “I had a towel on in the tub. I?m not lying, I promise you! You think I would let Nick see me looking rancid like that?”
She didn?t want to know how much weight she gained while pregnant: “I didn?t want to know, because why would I want to feel that bad? I know it was a number that I never want to see again.”
Bones: “I had, like, no bones for a while. It’s important to me to feel my bones!”
Eating while pregnant: Carey says she cooked hearty Italian meals and “soul food” throughout her pregnancy, and admitted that it’s easy to overeat when you’re eating for two ? or in her case, three. “Maybe the portions weren?t what they should?ve been,” she said. “Even as a pregnant woman you kind of have control over it, but you don?t feel like it when you?re pregnant.”
She?s not petite: “I?m also 5?9? and I?m not a petite girl.?
Not-so-veiled comments about Kim Kardashian: “I’m a real person, I’m not going to put on a fake face for Hollywood. Sometimes [Nick and I] make each other mad, that’s why we aren’t divorced after four months. I’m sorry, I’m just saying.”
Obviously: “You know, I had a situation in the past where I was controlled, and I was really young, and it affected the way I trusted people. I had no team, besides my dog and my cat. Me and Nick we always joke, I’m an Aries, I need so much attention!”

Us Weekly claims that after Mariah made the crack about a four-month marriage, there were ?audible gasps? in the auditorium, and that?s why Mariah gave a half-hearted non-apology. I think her point is valid - a lot of people thought Mariah and Nick wouldn?t last (I certainly didn?t think they would), and a lot of people thought they would be divorcing within a year. But they stuck with it, and now they seem so, so strong, right? And maybe it?s because they give each other what they need, and they?re not afraid to be ?real? with each other. Mariah really is a diva who needs constant attention and she?ll totally be a bitch too. And Nick handles her, and they complete each other. Why not hold them up as an example of a marriage that works?
Oh, and here?s that Jenny commercial. Don?t you get it? She?s in a COCOON, people. She?s a butterfly. A newly slender butterfly, ripping her way through the cocoon of water retention.

She wasted no time bouncing back into shape after the birth of her babies, and Mariah Carey was just announced as the new Jenny Craig Ambassador.
The ?Fly Like a Bird? songstress radiated beauty as she showed off her slim figure in a long red gown while posing for pictures at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City prior to the announcement on Wednesday (November 9).
In just six short months, Mariah has dropped 30 pounds while crediting her weight loss to Jenny Craig?s workout plan, along with the help of a nutritionist.
She told Us Weekly, "It was a huge blessing to be able to have the babies. But I felt trapped in my body because I couldn't move."
Mimi added, "I'm proud of how hard I worked to get my body back...I had to do this for me."

Mariah Carey made an appearance on Rosie O’Donnell’s soon-to-be-canceled “The Rosie Show” to reveal her incredible seventy pound weight loss since giving birth to twins six months ago. The Daily Mail says:
Arriving in style, being lowered onto the stage on a crescent shaped moon, the songstress proudly showed off her figure in a skin-tight black mini skirt and a cleavage-baring leather jacket.
She went on to reveal that she has dropped an incredible 70lbs over recent months.
Mariah started the strict Jenny diet plan, for which she is now a spokeswoman.
She said: ‘The first week, I lost 40 pounds… of just water. It was just water, initially. But when I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs of weight that needed to be lost.’
‘The diet is 90 percent of it,’ she told Rosie.
Hang on… I’m sorry, but since when has “being lowered onto the stage on a crescent shaped moon” been considered the height of “arriving in style?” She looks like a suckling pig on a platter.

I?m just not one of those girls who can talk about diets endlessly. But I?m not Mariah Carey. Mariah can talk about diets for a really long time. Now. She couldn?t before, because she was on fertility treatments and she had gained weight and kept it on for more than a year before she got pregnant with twins Roc & Roe. Now that she?s given birth and spent the last six months getting back into shape, and she wants to tell us all about it. Mariah Carey wasn’t shy about showing off her baby bump when she was pregnant with now-6-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe Cannon. And now, she’s positively ecstatic about unveiling her hot new post-baby body after losing, she says, a full 70 lbs.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Rosie Show on OWN, Carey, 42, was lowered diva-style onto the stage riding on a crescent moon and wearing a skin-tight black mini-skirt and cleavage-baring leather jacket. She then explained her new physique was courtesy of a strict diet and exercise ? along with the loss of what she says is about 40 lbs. of water due to a difficult pregnancy.
“In the beginning, when I first had the babies, I had so much edema ? water and swelling. Most pregnant woman have that just in their feet,” Carey says. “One day I was doing my thank-you notes and I noticed it started rising up the leg, so I had edema. ? I didn’t think I would ever be the same person.”
Diet Plan Spokeswoman
Once she’d shed the water weight, Carey embarked on the Jenny diet plan (formerly Jenny Craig), for which she now serves as a spokeswoman.

How She Did It
Because she had a Cesarean section, Carey says exercise wasn’t an option early on. So, she says, “The diet is 90 percent of it.” Remembering to eat was one of her biggest challenges because, she says, she believes if she goes too long without refueling, “You slow down your metabolism.”
For her, it was important “being able to just grab something. I like the soups a lot. It’s 50 calories. I gotta say I like the snacks too.”
Carey also regained her fitness by exercising with her dogs and doing workouts in the ocean. One thing she won’t stick with once she meets her goal.
“I never weighed myself,” she explains. “People will think I’m a liar but it’s true. This is another clich phrase, I’m a big boned girl ? I’m tall and so I always weigh more.”
Instead of weighing herself, she says, “I would tend to go, ‘Does this size dress fit me that I wore three years ago? I’m good, let’s go.’ I would go by what it looked like, how I felt.”

OK, she sounds healthy. I like that Mariah?s not too fancy to do Jenny Craig, but I still think there are some funny numbers going on with the actual weight loss versus water retention. Also: you know how I hate to talk about medical stuff because I can actually feel that stuff happening to me because I?m such a crazy hypochondriac and an easy mark for the power of medical persuasion? Well, I looked up Edema (here) and it sounds way more serious than what Mariah is talking about. It?s a serious medical condition, not just something you pee out in a week. In any case, I think Mariah probably has lost close to 70 pounds in total, but I don?t buy her breakdown of regular weight to water weight. And I love that she doesn?t weight herself either - neither do I, because, in my mind, my mega-boobs always skew the number. Shut up.

I can?t even start with this. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon debuted ?dem babies? on 20/20 Friday night, and now we have access to 20-million photos of these babies. Instead of being in midst of a massive eye-roll twitch, I?m fully prepared to gush about how beautiful and amazing the babies are, and how proud I am of Nick and Mariah. Seriously, y?all! Dem babies are gorgeous, and I like that Mariah and Nick waited a while for the debut, and that once Roc and Roe finally came out, we now get to see lots of adorable pics of them. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s babies are ready for their close-ups!
The star couple’s 6-month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, made their TV debut on 20/20 Friday night during an interview their parents gave to Barbara Walters.
Along with the joy and pride of being a first-time mom, Carey, who told Walters she does not want to have more children, spoke about her difficult pregnancy.
“I don’t think I understood the enormity or the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” she explained. “It’s not just, oh you don’t look pretty and you have a bump.”
But parenthood certainly seems to suit the couple. “My family gives me everything,” Cannon gushed.
“It’s just love,” Carey said. “It’s a beautiful place to be.”
While dad expects Moroccan and Monroe “to get a PhD,” Carey suggested that she wants them to follow in her footsteps. “They really respond to music,” she said, before singing to the babies in their Manhattan nursery.
Lullabies may come easy for Carey ? who brought them into the world to the tune of her song “Fantasy” ? but opening herself up to marriage again was a different story.
“I never believe that anybody really likes me,” she admitted after Cannon ? who showed off his huge “Mariah” tattoo on his back ? told her she’s been his crush from day one. “I always think it’s some kind of joke or something.”
While Carey doesn’t specifically address her music mogul ex-husband, Tommy Mottola, she does say that her failed marriage in 1998 made her hesitant to say “I do” a second time.
“Initially I was afraid of the concept of marriage [again],” she said. “But this is a different situation and a different time in my life.”
Now, Carey insists, “No one will steal my spirit.”

Of course the babies entered the world hearing their mother sing. Of course. Of course Mariah expects them to be singers. And I continue to be impressed by Nick?s insistence that his kids get an education. As for the state of Mariah and Nick?s marriage? well, they?ve surprised me so far. I hope that they make it in the long run.
Oh, and this is maybe the BEST PHOTO EVER. Yes, Mariah is already draping Monroe in diamonds. OF COURSE.

You want to know something weird? I don?t find it weird that Mariah has already bought her daughter diamond earrings. I don?t find it weird that Mariah is buying loose diamonds and keeping it in baby?s first jewelry vault. All of that makes some strange kind of sense to me. I mean, obviously, Mariah is already setting aside jewelry for her children. OBVIOUSLY. Babies need bling (PS? 4-month-olds are not ?toddlers?). What I find weird is the ?diamond-encrusted diaper pins.? Is that a thing? Do all rich people have those? Are they given as gifts by rich friends to other rich friends? I?ve seen sterling silver baby rattles and those kind of unnecessary ?bling? gifts, but diamond diaper pins? Ugh.

Not letting family life curb her fondness for swanky nights on the town, Mariah Carey was back in party mode in New York City on Thursday night (July 21).
Showing off her curvy post-baby body in a copper strapless maxi-dress with a crochet cardigan, the new mother of twins joined a group of friends in attending a party at the Big Apple's swanky Juliet Supperclub.
Clearly still possessing her well-known diva behavior, Mimi was reportedly "fanned" by a male assistant throughout while also dropping $1,600 on a bottle of Angel champagne.
The NYC night out comes as Carey and husband Nick Cannon welcomed twins Monroe and Morocco into the world on April 30, 2011.

Magazines such as PEOPLE and OK! are fighting over who gets the first baby photos of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s twins which are expected to fetch a modest $200,000. In comparison, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were paid $14 million for theirs. They donated the money to charity. Mariah and Nick will probably donate theirs to a diamond encrusted Hello Kitty for the baby room.
“Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder,” said a source close to the couple. “They’re talking to a number of publications about doing it in the best and most tasteful way. Nick has said on radio he doesn’t feel entirely comfortable selling pictures of his children. But the first picture remains very valuable to the paparazzi.” [Page Six]
If Nick feels uncomfortable selling pictures of his kids, why doesn’t he take pictures himself and post them on their website every single day until people get sick of those two talking about their babies. Considering Mariah Carey sold multiple nude or semi-nude pregnancy photos to Life & Style and OK! Magazine UK, it?s been surprising that as of yet, no tabloid has managed to get the first photos of babies Monroe and Moroccan. Mariah gave birth in on April 30 - usually, with most celebrity babies, we would have gotten the first photo before now. So what?s the problem? Well, Page Six claims that Mariah and Nick were and are prepared to sell their baby photos, but it?s all coming down to money, and how ?tasteful? the photo spread is. What?s kind of funny is that Mariah honestly thought she would be fielding multi-million-dollar offers for baby photos, like Brangelina:
Mariah Carey is shopping shots of her newborn twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, but the pop star will have trouble getting the millions she initially wanted for them, sources say. Multiple mags including People and OK! are jockeying for the photos of the 7-week-old twin boy and girl, which will likely fetch a more modest $200,000.
But sources close to Carey and husband, “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon, say the couple is more concerned with how tastefully the shots are presented than any giant price tag.
“Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder,” said a source close to the couple. “They’re talking to a number of publications about doing it in the best and most tasteful way. Carey has already landed a few covers with her long wished-for pregnancy. She did a “My Baby Miracle” interview with Us Weekly in November. She then posed naked while pregnant on the cover of Life & Style in April, prompting Cannon to joke on his radio show, “My children are going to have to see these pictures . . . It’s a little weird.”
The twins were born in an LA hospital on April 30 but have not yet been seen in public.
“She is still deciding when and if she’s going to [do the pictures],” said a rep for Carey. “She is enjoying being a mom, and there’s no rush. It’s not about the money.”
Sources say Carey had hoped at first to get much more for the photos, possibly rivaling the most expensive of all time. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got a reported $14 million for Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in 2008, although it went to charity.

While I wouldn?t expect Mariah and Nick?s baby photos to fetch anything like Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt (some say around $14 million), I would have thought that they could at least go for a cool million, right? Nick isn?t some big star, but everybody loves Mariah, and she?s a superstar. We want to see her babies! I have a question about this too, and it?s just something that bothers me personally - is this a racial thing? Do weeklies like People Magazine and Us Weekly NOT want to put Mariah and her babies on their cover because she?s mixed race, because she?s married to a black dude, and because her babies are mixed race? God knows, the tabloid covers are almost always a sea of white, and it?s depressing to think that only white babies make weekly covers - but if you look at the history of baby-oriented covers, that?s the way it goes. It would also explain why Mairah had to go so “downmarket” with her pregnancy photo shoots - she’s a big enough star for those photos to have ended up in Us Weekly or People, but instead they went budget, to Life & Style. It?s just a thought, a theory, please don?t scream at me.
