After a hectic awards season, it would make sense that E! Entertainment would take stock of all that happened and didn?t happen on their red carpet specials. One of the most glaring absences is the lack of a Brangelina interview with E!?s official red carpet host, Ryan Seacrest.
Seacrest famously asked rude questions of Brad and Angelina at the 2007 Golden Globes red carpet. Seacrest then made it worse by whining about Brangelina?s treatment of him during his radio show. Apparently for this year?s red carpet shows, Seacrest thought all would be forgiven. He didn?t take the hint when Brangelina ignored the E! box at this year?s Golden Globes, and instead Seacrest went racing after them. He got totally ignored, which was really funny. The next day he admitted that he shouldn?t have run after them.
After the Globes, Brangelina stopped by the E! box to talk to Guiliana Rancic at the SAGS, and at the Oscars, Brad only gave Seacrest a quick soundbite while Angelina ignored Seacrest again. Now there?s further proof that either Seacrest or E! executives were really chastened by the whole situation. According to 2007 tax filings, E! (and their parent company Comcast) donated $250,000 to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation in 2007. Fox News has more:
You can?t blame a media outfit for trying: E! Entertainment Television, the sort of armpit of celebrity TV, donated $250,000 to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation last year.
Theirs was one of just four donations to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt?s joint charitable fund. The others were Angie ($1,194,911) and Brad ($956.961) themselves, and “Ocean?s Eleven” (Twelve and Thirteen, too!) producer Jerry Weintraub ($5,000).
Not even People magazine, often accused of getting exclusives from the couple by tantalizing them with remuneration, is listed in the now available federal tax filing from 2007.
Who knows what E! ? which is owned by cable provider Comcast ? thought it was buying? Maybe some extra face time on the red carpet? They certainly weren?t going to get it with headlines like this one from their online gossip back on February 20, 2009: “Angelina ? From Sex Kitten to Emaciated Mama.”
It?s not clear whether E! curried any favor with the couple because of their donation. Other than using the Pitts to film a “Wild On?” episode on the beaches of Cambodia, or making an E! True Hollywood Story about the Darfur genocide, the payback results are unknown.
The E! donation certainly added to the stunning amount Jolie & Pitt gave away through this foundation in 2007: $3.4 million. Where did the money go? It?s nice to say it did not go to any kooky religions or cults. Instead, the couple put the money to causes they?ve been vocal about. The largest single recipient was Pitt?s Make it Right Foundation in New Orleans, which got $1,364,320 million. They also split $1 million evenly among three different UN based organizations working in Darfur, Pitt?s other pet cause. Another $400,000 went to Cambodia?s children?s causes, a country from which they adopted a child, plus $150,000 to a project in his name: the Maddox Chivan Children?s Center.
Pitt, by the way, is involved in two other charities as well: his Make it Right Foundation in New Orleans, with a $15 million endowment; and the Not on Our Watch group concerning Darfur.

I totally believe that this was E!?s way of apologizing to Brangelina for La Seacrest?s 2007 hissy fit. The celebrity couple must have known about the sizable donation as soon as it came in, and yet they?re still denying Seacrest more than a year later. Maybe Brangelina is hoping for another donation to make it all better? Or maybe Seacrest really is that big of a bitch to talk to on a red carpet. No amount of money will make it better.

They’ve already jetted off for a tropical honeymoon getaway, and now Fergie’s mom is dishing details about her daughter’s wedding with actor Josh Duhamel.
“There were 350, 375 people were there,” Fergie’s proud mother, Terri Jackson, said during an interview on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, “and that was keeping it way down! So many people couldn’t bring a date unless they paid me money or something! It had to be someone you’re actually engaged to or something like that.”

I had no opinion of Ryan Seacrest for the longest time. I didn?t (and don?t) watch American Idol, and his helming of E! News wasn?t too bad. But then he was appointed to lead E!?s red carpet coverage on various awards nights and I grew to hate him. He is a horrible red carpet interviewer, even bordering on nasty and mean to some celebrities. He constantly forgets to ask who people are wearing, and he constantly manages to bring the line of questioning back to his favorite subject, himself.
This has not gone unnoticed by Brangelina. In a stunning public relations move, they utterly ignored Seacrest on the Golden Globes red carpet last night. As they walked past the E! box, Seacrest ran down the stairs and started screaming ?Brad! Angelina! Can you come talk?!?? He was like five feat away, and they totally ignored him. One of their bodyguards even nudged him away. I started giggling right away, and I?m so happy I wasn?t the only one who saw it.

Could it be because a paparazzo videographer from the E! network trespassed on the actor’s Los Feliz property back in 2006?
Could it be because Ryan is kooky?
Could it be because either Brad or Angelina had to rush inside to go to the bathroom? Why?

I actually have a pretty good guess as to why The Brange ignored La Seacrest. At the 2007 Golden Globes, Seacrest interviewed them when Brad was nominated for Babel. Seacrest, per usual, was a big bitch to them during the interview. The next day, he even continued his tirade of abuse against The Brange on his radio show. Perhaps Brangelina didn?t want to engage in La Seacrest?s self-absorbed drama.
There’s a poor quality video available of this on YouTube, but it’s hard to see what’s going on. If only Redlasso was still available we could show you ourselves.

Teen country singer Taylor Swift and one of the Jonas Brothers, Joe- the really girly-looking one with the flat-ironed hair, if that helps you distinguish - had a short lived romance last year that ended, according to Swift, with a 27-second phone call from Joe. Since then, Joe has been spotted out with actress Camilla Belle, while Taylor has been openly nursing a broken heart. So you can imagine how uncomfortable it had to be for both of them to be booked as entertainment for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve special, live from Times Square. Sources say that both Joe and Taylor did their best to avoid each other all night, but then came the inevitable countdown to midnight, when Taylor, the Jonas Brothers and Ryan Seacrest were all standing together on the broadcast platform, watching the ball drop. Joe coped with the situation by mugging for the camera, while Taylor looked like she wanted to disappear.
JONAS BROTHERS star JOE JONAS and his ex, Taylor Swift, added to the big chill in New York on New Year’s Eve (31Dec08) when they found themselves on the same stage just before midnight.
The Jonas Brothers had just performed as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest when they were pulled up onstage with the TV spectacular’s host to discuss the night’s chilly temperatures and ring in 2009.
As the ball dropped on Times Square, revellers faced a freezing 19 degrees with a windchill of two - but it was even colder onstage as Swift and Jonas attempted to make the most of their end-of-year (08) face-off.
Bitter Swift recently revealed her ex broke off the couple’s 2008 romance in a 25-second phone call.
The former couple refused to make eye contact as they stood at opposite ends of the stage, but they shared a brief hug in the early seconds of 2009 as fans celebrated the New Year.
Swift admitted she was stunned by her first New Year’s celebration in New York: “I have never seen anything like this in my life. This is life changing.”

I watched the live special, and I didn’t see any hugs between these two. Maybe it happened off camera. The only thing more uncomfortable about this broadcast than the tension between these two kids was poor Dick Clark struggling to read the cue cards. I love Dick Clark, and his name is pretty much the definitive when it comes to New Year’s Eve specials, but it is very difficult and depressing to see him in such rough shape due to his stroke.

Sure that he’s found his lifelong partner, Spencer Pratt is already talking about starting a family with his new wife Heidi Montag.
“A little birdie told me you were tryin’ [for kids],” Ryan Seacrest told Spencer on his radio show, to which the he replied, “We definitely need a kid ASAP.”

So, the previews for this new Ryan Seacrest-produced show ?Momma?s Boys? look absolutely disgusting. In one bit, the middle-aged white ?momma? is yelling at a young African-American girl, saying that her son will not be allowed to date a black girl. It?s all so insulting - if it was a show about the reverse called ?Daddy?s Girls? where a ?daddy? was yelling at young men, acting as if his daughter was his property, the feminists would be outraged. So who?s going to speak up for the momma?s boys? No one, apparently. Because it?s ?cute? when a guy is hen-pecked by his mother, right? Ugh, no thanks.
But ?Momma?s Boys? is just another step on Seacrest?s quest for world domination. And even Seacrest?s momma, Connie, is out there promoting the insulting piece of garbage, and talking hopefully about her dreams for her son?s future… with a woman.
Ryan Seacrest?s search for the right partner continues ? only this time with the encouragement of his mother.
“I wish he had more time to date,” Connie Seacrest tells MomLogic.com about her famous son, who also just happens to be the producer of the new NBC show, ?Momma?s Boys?. “That would be wonderful for him ? and we’d stand a better chance for him to have a relationship. ”
As for any butting in ? or rather, assistance ? from Mom: “My rule is that you just observe and wait until they ask for your opinion,” she says.
Still, a mother can hope, can’t she? Ideally, she says, for her son, “This would be the package I could see ? a woman that would be his best friend, lover and eventually one day the mother of his children.”
Ryan, who turns 34 on Christmas Eve, also has a sister, Meredith ? and, notes mother Connie, the sibling is also single. “Neither of my children [is] married. They’re going have to get a nanny for granny!” she says.
But as for adding to the family, “I believe in marriage before children. My husband [Gary Seacrest] and I have been married for 39 years this February. I think both of my children want to have this kind of relationship. Ryan realizes he’s got to give more time to a relationship if he wants it to be a lasting one. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!?

Yeah, Momma Seacrest, you keep your fingers crossed real tight on that one. I really like how People.com kept the piece gender-neutral up until the crescendo of denial from Momma Seacrest. Are there really women in the world who look at Ryan Seacrest and see something other than a workaholic closet-case hell-bent on media domination by any means necessary? And he’s not even the cool kind of faux-gay - the kind interested in clothes and movie stars and being fabulous! His red carpet interviews suck. He always forgets to ask movie stars what they’re wearing. Seacrest out.

Showing off her holiday spirit, Paris Hilton was spotted on her way out to dinner with Ryan Seacrest at West Hollywood eatery STK restaurant along with her BFF Brittany Flickinger.
The “Hottie and the Nottie” actress was more than happy to pose for the paparazzi in her snazzy Christmas sweater before heading inside. And after dinner, the trio hit up Hyde nightclub.
