You know it’s a crazy day around here when I’m writing about Brangelina, right? Poor Kaiser is still sick, so you’re stuck with me, and while I don’t anticipate any Bermuda Triangle angles on this story, well, you never know.
At any rate, yesterday’s links pointed everyone towards Angelina’s bizarre farmer’s market outfit as she hangs with the kids following many required adult-oriented outings to various awards shows. Many of you commented on the unflattering manner in which Angelina was dressed; and while I too would love to see Angelina rock a pair of jeans, she’s probably just grateful to dress comfortably in her own way again. Since Brad is now up for an Oscar for his role in Moneyball, I expect she’ll be meeting with designers soon to get all dolled up again, so we have that to look forward to in the near future.
As for Brad, he’s still on publicity duty for the time being, and he’s talked to People about what his family does to spend time together while hanging out at home (wherever that might be at any given moment). Mainly, Brad loves watching “iCarly” with his kids. I wonder if tosses down the cane and engages in the show’s special random dancing along with his kids? I bet he does:
Hollywood’s awards season is a time of relative calm for the Jolie-Pitt family. Oscar-nominee Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can celebrate their films — and the reaction to them — and also kick back with the kids.
On the latter score, Pitt says, the children have certain favorite activities — both at home and on outings.
“A lot of it, for us, is family,” the actor, 48, told PEOPLE Sunday at the Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills. “Just breaking away and getting to take the kids to Benihana’s or something.”
And what about when they’re lounging around the house? “iCarly,” says Pitt. “iCarly is big in our house. It is. I know every episode.”
Pitt also offered an update on his injured knee, saying he’s “got the brace for another month” but should be in the clear after that.
Otherwise, he says, awards season is a nice time to reflect on their work — he received raves for acting in Moneyball and Jolie was honored with the Stanley Kramer Award for her work on In the Land of Blood and Honey, which she directed.
“I’m so happy that the films are appreciated. That’s what this has been about for me,” said Pitt. “We get to catch up with people we haven’t seen in a while, old friends. And that’s a nice thing. I consider it part of the job.”

You know, it sounds like Brad and Angelina only really spend quality time with other adults during award season, so I’m sure they look forward to that more than they’d like to admit. Otherwise, they’re essentially family people who bury themselves within the depth that is children’s television programming. CB reminded me that Angelina got the kids ready for twin siblings by watching “Dora the Explorer,” and more specifically, the episode where Dora’s mom gives birth to twins. Well, Dora’s not insufferable, but I’m more of a “Go, Diego, Go!” kind of girl myself. After all, Baby Jaguar is the sh-t. “Rowrr, rowrr!”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were in attendance at last night?s Producers Guild Awards, held in Beverly Hills. Jolie wore this black wool crepe and lace Michael Kors pre-Fall 2012 collection gown which? I have mixed feelings about. The positives: it fits her, it?s not a sack, and there?s sexiness to it. The negatives: the lace looks kind of cheap to me, the cut and the design of the bodice is odd, and the overall effect is not all that gorgeous. That being said, I love her hair and makeup here. I really like it when Angelina does bigger, teased up hair. It suits her.
As for Brad, he was without his cane! And if it just me, or is Brad looking a little bit ?refreshed?? He actually made the effort to groom his scraggily facial hair, and he looks so shiny, maybe it?s throwing me off and making me think he looks Botoxed when he?s just clean, for once.
Anyhoodle, Angelina was at the PGAs because she was receiving The Stanley Kramer Award for In the Land of Blood and Honey. We discussed the award previously – ITLOBAH received the award for taking on complicated social issues. Congrats to Angelina!

This is just a funny little story about Brangelina and their post-Golden Globes night. Did you know that Angelina and Brad actually went out to some industry parties after the Globes? Isn?t that surprising? They usually never party after the show. According to Page Six, Angelina and Brad made their way to the CAA party, and while Angelina sat down and relaxed, ?Brad Pitt ditched his cane and caught up with George Clooney, who was with gal pal Stacey Kiebler, and Leonardo DiCaprio and supermodel girlfriend Erin Heatherton.? Brad wants this as much as George Clooney, make no mistake. Brad was there to glad-hand and be seen. And I never though Leo and Brad were tight, so that?s interesting. Anyway, Us Weekly had a funny story about what happened when Brad and Angelina were walking into the CAA party:

Both Jolie, 36, and love of nearly seven years Pitt, 48, left Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards empty handed — Jolie’s In the Land of Blood and Honey didn’t nab the Best Foreign Language Film globe, and Moneyball star Pitt lost to pal George Clooney in the Best Actor, Drama category.
But Jolie (looking spectacular in satin one-shoulder Atelier Versace gown, bright red lipstick and a dramatic updo hairstyle) had quite the consolation prize: Pitt!
“You’re prettier than me,” Jolie gushed to her man as they arrived quietly at the CAA afterparty at unset Tower. Pitt looked dashing as always in a Salvatore Ferragamo three-piece tuxedo.
Added Jolie: “My shoes are going to kill me!”
“It’s nice when everything comes together,” Pitt told E!’s Ryan Seacrest of their double nominations. “It’s a golden night for us!”
Indeed, Jolie naughtily told the Associated Press what she was most looking forward to that evening: “Getting into bed with Brad!”

So Brad and Angelina didn?t go home immediately for their special bed-time date? instead, they went out partying, and Angelina made sure that Brad knew he was the prettiest one there. Is that really their dynamic?!? My mind is boggled.

Ah, lets? just go ahead and analyze (and over-analyze) everything Brangelina. Brad and Angie made it to at the Golden Globes red carpet with plenty of time to schmooze the media outlets. Brad wore a three-piece Ferragamo tuxedo which? no one paid attention to. People only looked at Brad?s cane and his hair. He looked scruffy, but I was just happy that he wasn?t wearing sunglasses like a jackass. As for Angelina, she was in this cream and red Atelier Versace. Okay, Brangeloonies, it?s time for some hard truths: I really didn?t like this gown. Seriously. It washed her out, even with the red streak. It looked padded in the bust and butt, and the cut was really weird throughout the bodice and shoulders. Now, I didn?t loathe the look, and I?m aware that there are mixed opinions. My mom loved the whole thing, and CB thought her lipstick was the biggest problem. So, go ahead and fight about it. I?m just saying, I think she could have looked so much better. And hey, at least it wasn?t a motherchucking sack.
Shall we talk about the Ryan Seacrest interview? I was laughing my ass off. You know Ryan and Angelina pretty much hate each other, right? And it goes back to the 2007 Golden Globes – go here for a minor review. Anyway, last night, Angelina wore a stunningly direct bit face while talking to Ryan, and I was totally rooting for her to smack the hell out of him. Does it even matter what they said to each other? Nope. The subtext was clear. Ryan was all, ?This bitch.? And Angelina was all, ?Come at me, a–hole. I?ll kneecap your ass too.?
As for Brangelina at the actual show – they were front and center, and there were some gratuitous cut-aways to them, but not as many as in years past. Angelina lost Best Foreign Film (while Madonna was presenting!) and Brad lost Best Actor, but both got to present. During the ceremony, Angelina wrapped herself up in a matching shawl or jacket which was not cute. And thankfully, the cameras didn?t pan to Angelina when Ricky Gervais made ANOTHER crack about The Tourist. All in all, a disappointing night for the Brangelina Brand.

They're Hollywood's hottest couple, and tonight (January 15) Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wowed the crowd as they arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
Dressed to the nines as they hit the red carpet, the Tinseltown twosome were the picture of perfection for one of the year's swankiest A-list affairs.
Having been recently announced as the show's newest pair of presenters, Brad and Angelina join fellow Hollywood heavyweights Nicole Kidman, Harrison Ford and Johnny Depp.
Additionally, Mr. Pitt - who sported a Salvatore Ferragamo black three piece tuxedo - will go head-to-head against George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender and Ryan Gosling as they vie for Best Actor in a Motion Picture in the Drama category.
Meanwhile, Angelina's directorial work "In the Land of Blood and Honey" is up for Best Foreign Language Film, a nomination in which she said, "I am grateful that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is honoring our film. This was a true collaboration and I am forever indebted to our cast and crew, who experienced their own personal tragedies in the Bosnian War and gave me an authentic perspective into the conflict. This nomination is a tribute to the collective talent and passion of this extraordinary cast."

Brad Pitt covers the February issue of W Magazine – their annual ?Movie Issue?. Charlize Theron got a separate cover, which we will cover at a separate time. Let?s just talk about Brad right now. Thoughts on his styling? I usually like Brad when he?s a bit more cleaned up, and I don?t really understand why he?s been growing out his hair since completing World War Z?s interminable shoot. Maybe it?s just laziness. Or maybe he just wants ONE member of ?Brangelina? to have beautiful hair for the awards season. I don?t know. I think he?s a bit too old to be doing the long-haired stoner thing, though. Even though the cover doesn?t do much for me, there?s a closeup shot that I?ve included below? Brad in closeup is hot. He looks like he?s about to kiss someone. Anyway, here?s Brad?s interview in W – this is the complete thing:
Lynn Hirschberg: Which movie has made you cry?
Brad Pitt: I?m not much of a crier at films, but there was one…I was coming back from Cabo on my way to Montreal, and I got hit with Montezuma?s revenge. I could not keep anything down. I was stuck in a hotel room with no windows and was just doing what you do when you?re sick. On day two of this extremely painful episode, I watched a film called Life as a House. Kevin Kline is an architect and learns he has terminal cancer. He?s estranged from his teenage son and decides they?re going to finish this house. I don?t know if it would still hit me the same way, but on my 27th hour of pure wretchedness, this movie just crushed me. I should watch it again to see if it has the same effect.
Have your parents seen you die in a movie?
They would have had to. I die really well, by the way. It?s one of my strong points. I just take a bullet well.
Do you have trouble watching yourself die?
God, no. I?m just checking the boxes. Hit that. Missed that. Hit that moment. Missed that one. God, I?d like to do that one again.
Do you really have characters that you?d like to do over?
Um…the first 12 years of my career, I would think.
No!
Okay…first 11 years.
What was the first role you auditioned for?
My agent sent me out for two films: One of them was The Accused with Jodie Foster. I was so excited.
Did you go out for the part of the rapist?
Probably not. With this face, I was probably up for the guy with the conscience. I called up afterward and asked, ?How did I do?? There were three seconds of silence and then: ?Have you ever thought about acting classes??

W Magazine released the video interview too, which is pretty much the same stuff that the online interview has. Brad seems a bit full of himself, but in his defense, I think that?s just his sense of humor. Plus, he?s been really, insanely famous for more than two decades – good enough reason to be full of himself.

As you may remember, in 2009, Us Weekly (and other tabloids) claimed that Angelina Jolie totally hated President Obama. The reasoning was vague, but the gist was that Angelina is more conservative than anyone realizes and she?s a chip off of the ol? block (the ol? block being her crazy father). I bring this up because yesterday, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were invited to the White House, and they accepted. They apparently met Pres. Obama in the Oval Office - you can see some long-distance photos here, shot through the Oval?s windows by photographers on the lawn. Angelina was wearing a black pencil skirt and a black turtleneck, and she looked pleased. Brad was wearing a suit and tie, and he looked hero-worship-y. Brad?s met Obama before – they discussed NOLA back in 2009. This is the first time Obama and Angelina have ever met, though. And apparently, it was a brief meeting – Obama was on his way to Chicago. Oh, here?s video! I like the guy saying, ?Hey, that?s Brad Pitt!?
According to the Associated Press, Brangelina ?dropped by? the White House (for real? I would think they were officially invited, right?) so that Angelina and Pres. Obama could discuss Angelina?s ?work on preventing mass atrocities and combating sexual violence against women.? The night before, Angelina and Brad had done the red carpet for a screening of In the Land of Blood and Honesy at the Holocaust Museum (which, if you?ve never been to, you should really go – it?s a really comprehensive museum). While on the carpet, Angelina got a few questions about Obama and whether or not she hated him. When asked about the report that she hated the president, Angelina said, ?Reported by who? By Us Weekly? You gotta read better papers!?
After Tuesday?s screening, People Magazine reports that Brangelina went out to dinner with some Washington power players, including Valerie Jarrett, one of Obama?s senior advisors. And Angelina even ate some solids! She had roast chicken, which sounds so good to me right now.
Following the Washington, D.C., premiere of her new film, In the Land of Blood and Honey, Angelina Jolie joined partner Brad Pitt for a celebratory dinner at Charlie Palmer Steak.
The couple ? joined by 12 others, including President Obama’s senior advisor Valerie Jarrett ? opted for Palmer’s $35.12 prix fixe Restaurant Week menu, and started with chopped salads of romaine, endive, goat cheese, bacon, cranberry and red wine vinegar. For entres, Pitt chose the coulotte steak with sweet potato pure and braised greens, while Jolie savored the roasted chicken breast with buttered new potatoes and marjoram jus. Pitt, who was recently injured during a fall, indulged in the dark chocolate pav with milk chocolate ice cream for dessert, while Jolie passed on the sweets.
According to an onlooker, the party of 14 stayed at the restaurant for two hours, and was “extremely pleasant and gracious to both fans and the staff.”

I suspect that it was Valerie Jarrett who got Angelina and Brad in to meet the president, right? It was less of a ?drop by? and more of an invitation. I don?t know why that?s bugging me so much – I just don?t think Angelina and Brad are so full of themselves that they think they can just ?drop by? the White House unannounced. There has to security clearances and background checks and a White House staffer has to formally escort you wherever you go. Anyway, I’m sure this was only the first meeting in a long line of negotiations in which Pres. Obama will gradually hand over power to Empress Zahara.

In my mind, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had two great public appearances in a row, so they were due a bad showing. While I thought Angelina looked vaguely knocked up in her beige sack in Palm Springs, I also thought her hair, makeup and skin looked amazing. And then she upped her game for the New York Film Critics Circle Awards two nights ago, wearing a great combination of gauzy white and black leather, with her hair and makeup once again looking great. But last night, I feel like Brangelina faltered a bit. Brad and Angie did an appearance at a screening of In the Land of Blood and Honey in Washington, D.C.
Maybe they?re jet-lagged. Maybe they were up all night, boning in our nation?s capital. Maybe it?s just bad lighting. But they both look kind of rough to me. I?m even throwing shade on Angelina?s Michael Kors coat! Usually, Angelina brings the coat pr0n. I think it?s the length and seeming ?stiffness? of the coat that?s throwing me off.
Also – I?ve noticed that a lot of you have been commenting on Brad?s recent squintiness. Considering he?s started wearing glasses in public more often, I?m assuming that his eyes are getting weaker as he ages. And as someone who has worn glasses and contacts for much of her life, let me tell you – when your eyes get used to being supported by glasses or contacts, and you go out without that support, you squint. Part of it is that you?re trying to see. Part of it is that you?re more sensitive to light. Or, you know, he could think that squinting makes him look cool. But I think it?s just that his vision is compromised and he?s still adjusting.

I mentioned the stupid “fashion cane” Brad Pitt was working at the New York Film Critics Awards in the Quickies yesterday, but I feel like I may have unintentionally suggested that he was using the cane simply as a fashion accessory by neglecting to mention that has some sort of toe injury that merits use its use. So, anyway, I don’t take issue with canes in general. What I take issue with is Brad Pitt’s choice of a cane made of hand-carved Gaboon ebony with a resin stopper. It was probably whittled by a tribe of African pygmies and polished with the tears of a twenty virgins, too. Jackass.

It?s always a special occasion for me when I see new photos of Angelina Jolie, seen here with Brad Pitt at last night?s New York Film Critics Circle Awards. But I feel like it?s my birthday and Christmas rolled into one when Angelina rocks some old-school leather. Angelina and leather go together like Michael Fassbender and sweetshops, like chocolate and peanut butter, like chocolate and Fassbender. They are perfectly matched, is what I?m saying. Old-school Angelina used to wear biker gear and too-pale makeup and a druggy demeanor. These days, the druggy demeanor is gone, her makeup has improved, and the leather has gone from ?biker girl? to ?high-fashion?. I like this ensemble so much – it?s Ferragamo! She looks gorgeous. I love being able to see her waist, and she has the figure for pencil skirts. Love the pop of color with the emerald necklace too. DOWN WITH SACKS!!!
Anyway, as I said, Brad and Angelina were at the NYFCC Awards. Brad took home Best Actor for Moneyball and Tree of Life. Congrats to him – I do think he?ll end up with an Oscar nomination this year. But will he end up taking home the award? His competition will likely be George Clooney, Jean Dujardin, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gary Oldman and Michael Fassbender? Who would you pick?
Meanwhile, some new interviews with Angelina are still coming out – these are from Palm Springs, where she and Brad did press over the weekend.
Angelina Jolie is as well known for her work helping refugees around the world as she is for making movies. But she’ll let her kids decide for themselves whether they want to follow in her activist footsteps.
“I’m not one of those moms who kind of lectures [my kids],” Jolie, 36, told reporters on Saturday at the 23rd Annual Palm Springs Film Festival. “But I do tell them, whenever I go on a trip, where I’m going and why. And on some occasions, they’ve come with me to different refugee camps. And they also go to their home countries a lot.”
The actress, who wore an Elie Saab gown to the festival’s awards gala, has faith her little ones will make decisions based on what they see in their day-to-day lives.
“Hopefully they live in the world, and they see the world really as it is, outside of Hollywood,” she says. “If they really live in the world and spend time with friends around the world from all different types of backgrounds, they [will] just see things as they are.”
Even though Jolie doesn’t expect her children to take up the same causes, she does look for opportunities ? such as daughter Zahara’s birthday on Sunday ? to remind them about who they are and where they come from.
“We make sure we’re very aware of her culture and her heritage,” Jolie says of Zahara, who turned 7 on Sunday. “She’s an African-American girl, so we make that a part of anything she does. So that’ll be a part of her [birthday].”

Us Weekly reports that Angelina spend Sunday morning shopping for little girl?s clothes in Sherman Oaks too – a source says Jolie “bought really cute girly stuff in bright colors? Little peasant tops, sweaters and tights? she picked out a bunch of stuff and left very quickly. Once people noticed her, everyone was staring and running to see her, so she left with a bodyguard. She had several bags of birthday gifts for her daughter.” Aw? I love Z?s style. It sounds like her mom knows what to buy the Empress too – Z will like her peasant tops and girly stuff. Meanwhile, Shiloh still dresses like an extra from The Sopranos. And Brad and Angelina accept it!
