Wow, Brad Pitt looks really good in these photos, doesn?t he? Brad got pap?d at LAX on Wednesday, looking sort of lumberjack chic. Like, if a lumberjack drove a Benz and wore $900 sunglasses. Earlier this year. Brad was not looking this good. He actually looked kind of puffy and like he had been undergoing some aggressive skin treatments. But now he looks slim and de-bloated and hot. Fancy lumberjack hot! While Brad was walking through LAX, he even stopped to rescue a stuffed animal for a little girl:
Very sweet. Anyway, there?s not a lot going on with Brad as far as gossip, although we?ll be seeing him this fall when he promotes Allied, the WWII film he did with Marion Cotillard. He also has War Machine coming out at some point, but I can?t find a release date for it. There?s also this piece of gossip about the sorry state of Brad and Angelina?s marriage: according to Radar, Angelina has been calling up Daniel Craig! Oh, NO!

The former costars, who were rumored to have hooked up while shooting their movie Tomb Raider, recently got back in touch after Craig pushed the United Nations for more funding for defusing land mines and other explosives in conflict zones around the world.
?Angelina called him to praise his efforts, and the pair have been blowing up the phones ever since,? an insider told Radar.
Now U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Jolie, 41, wants to team up with 48-year-old Craig, the organization?s Global Advocate for the Elimination of Mines and Explosive Hazards, on a project since she knows the planned Tomb Raider reboot will shine the spotlight on their efforts.
?Angie and Daniel always got on well and are thrilled they?ve reconnected over a worthy cause,? said the insider. However, ?What their respective spouses think about this ancient hookup being revitalized remains to be seen, but for now Angie and Daniel are talking on the phone a lot,? noted the source.

I feel the same way about Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig that I do about Brangelina: I love them. I love those couples together. And while I think Daniel and Angelina would have been incredibly hot together back in the day, around the time they filmed Tomb Raider, I don?t think there?s anything happening between them. But! I bet Angelina does try to make Brad jealous every now and then.

Brad Pitt has been looking oddly ?youthful? for a few months now. I noticed it first at the premiere of The Big Short in November, but a lot of people commented on his ?freshened? look at the Golden Globes. I think it?s probably a combination of factors, some of which are rather harmless. Like, Brad had facial hair on and off for years, but these days he?s rocking a clean-shaven look, so he automatically looks different. He?s also got a haircut (that looks like a ?90s wiglet), which changes his appearance. But there is something else going on. Aggressive facial peels? Botox? A facelift? Life & Style says no ? their sources claim Brad?s new look is the result of a new diet, skin care treatments and IV vitamin drips.
Brad Pitt is turning back the clock! An insider close to Brad reveals in the new issue of Life & Style Weekly that for the past several months, Brad has been on an intense antiaging regimen that includes a new diet, expensive skin care treatments and even IV vitamin drips!
?He?s been telling friends about his new antiaging plan,? an insider tells Life & Style. ?He?s been doing it with the help of a nutritionist and a personal chef.?
The insider reveals the details of his new diet to Life & Style, on newsstands now. It?s heavy on salmon, walnuts and chia seeds, which are high in omega-3 fatty acids to combat wrinkles, plus lean meats and eggs, which provide amino acids to help repair damaged skin cells, according to the insider. Other staples in Brad?s strict regimen are brown rice and beets, since they are high in phytoceramides, which many people take as supplements to keep skin hydrated and plump.
?What you put in your mouth shows on your skin,? says Beverly Hills dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban, who does not treat the father of five. ?His diet will help Brad?s skin repair itself.?
The insider tells Life & Style that he?s also been supplementing the diet with ?collagen smoothies and antiaging IV vitamin drips,? as well as going to get regular facials.
?Brad?s working hard to keep his youthful looks,? the insider says. ?The transformation has been nothing short of amazing.?

Here?s the thing: I believe Brad Pitt is vain, but do I believe he?s THIS vain? I don?t. I think he would go in for some facial peels and some Botox. I don?t believe he would completely change his diet and get IV drips full of anti-aging vitamins. I just don?t believe he cares THAT much. But he does care, and we can see it all over his (new) face.

Here is the new cover for Elle France, with Angelina Jolie looking rather lovely. She covers the issue to promote her Euro-centric vanity project, By the Sea. BTS has made a little more than $1.5 million domestically and internationally combined. For a film that reportedly cost $10-25 million to make and promote, it really does not seem like the studio will be making any money off of BTS. Sad. Well, at least the studio won?t be able to say that Angelina refused to promote it. She has been promoting it, exhaustively. Probably to the detriment of Brad Pitt?s actual Oscar-bait film, The Big Short.
Speaking of The Big Short, THR asked Brad Pitt if he was interested in following in Angelina?s footsteps and trying his hand at directing. Brad answered quickly: ?No, not at all. I have no desire whatsoever. I like my corner of the field.” I bet Brad would actually have a pretty good eye as a director. I dare say he would have a better feel for good scripts too, judging by how he operates as a producer.
Meanwhile, this week?s National Enquirer is all about how Brad and Angelina are about to go through a ?$480 million divorce.? Sources claim that Brad caught Angelina carrying on with ?an unidentified crew member? while at work in Cambodia. Brad ran away and cried, and one of his friends tells the mag: ?To Brad, it?s emotional cheating. He got word from sources on the set and he exploded! The close nature of Angelina?s relationship with the man quickly became the talk of cast and crew, who note how she hangs on his every word? Angelina looks positively enamored with this man!? Gossip Cop says the story is ?made up.? Which? sure. Where is Brad, by the way? I know Angelina is in Cambodia, working on another film that absolutely no one will see. But where?s Brad?

Can I just say? I really like the ?hot professor? vibe Brad Pitt has in these photos. It?s a much better vibe than the ?I?m wearing a ?90s wiglet? energy from The Big Short premiere. These photos are just of Brad out and about in NYC on Tuesday, likely going back and forth to media outlets to promote The Big Short. He wore that newsboy cap so I have no idea if he?s still trying to work a wiglet, or if the real wiglet is the ?grey hair? he?s rocking for War Machine. Anyway, there are some assorted quotes floating around from Brad, including his thoughts on the world of finance today, and whether he?s going to do any cooking for Thanksgiving.

Angelina Jolie has said over and over again that she can?t cook and she?s a disaster in the kitchen. So is Brad cooking Thanksgiving? Is he just in charge of the turkey and he makes the kids do the other stuff? The thing is, if you?re helpless in the kitchen, you can buy a lot of pre-made stuff. I wonder if that?s what they do. As for Brad?s thoughts on the financial crisis? yes, it is depressing. Ugh.

Angelina Jolie?s By the Sea got a limited release this weekend, and once all of the reviews were in, I can sort of understand why she didn?t want to do a wider release. Even the Daily Beast branded the film ?boring as f?k? and ?the most depressing two-hour luxury perfume ad of all time.? Vulture made a half-hearted attempt to claim that the film might be an Oscar contender, but even they couldn?t keep up the ruse. Still, with these two, the hustle never dies. The Daily Mail has some exclusive photos of the Jolie-Pitt clan at the airport ? go here to see. And Angelina gave another wordy interview to The Telegraph. Some highlights:
The working honeymoon filming ?By the Sea?: ?There were a few days when we thought it wasn?t the best idea. There were days during filming last year when we were really worried and it was hard. If we had married and were just starting a relationship it would have been a disaster, but because we have been together so long we wanted to see how far we could push our relationship and our love and see if we can work together under very intense circumstances and with very complex issues and see if it would make us better. But at the end we came out of it thinking, ‘This was the best honeymoon,? because the film says, ‘Whatever you go through, weather the storm and stick together.? So it was kind of a message to each other that we are going to stick together whatever comes.?
She & Brad have issues? ?Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems we couldn?t have made the film. To be clear: we have fights and problems like any other couple. We have days when we drive each other absolutely mad and want space, but the problems in the movie aren?t our specific problems.?
Working on Mr. & Mrs. Smith: ?When we first worked together it was very different because we didn?t really know each other and we were young and, it was really a fun film, so we thought, maybe By the Sea was going to be that kind of fun, but realised very quickly that it wasn?t. Then we joked that this is what happens after 10 years of marriage.?
She knows Brad?s triggers: ?Our first few days were quite tricky because no matter what I say, he knows me so well and knows every little gesture when I get impatient, or when I am not really happy. And I was nervous about not being able to have the right direction for him, to see him stuck and not being able to push him. So it was challenging, but we made a private pact that we were going to try to be as open and honest and emotive as possible and give to each other as much as we could and, succeed or fail, we would just lay it bare. These were very sensitive themes and I know Brad?s triggers and what he can do and what he is thinking about so I had to step away and just be very careful in how he was directed. I tried to give him a safe space and tell him to trust me and I would do my best to protect him in the editing room if he would be as open and give me as much of himself and his emotions and his honesty, and he did. I think he worked very hard.?
Turning 40: ?I turned 40 this year and I am so happy. Most women in my family start to get sick and start dying in their 40s and I am going to be very happy to become 50 and 60. I love getting older.?
Taking the kids to Cambodia: ?Maddox is working with me in production so when I have my production meeting he is sitting right next to me and we go though our notes. Pax is going through the photography and Shiloh is sketching the sets. It has to be with family and they have to be a part of it now.?
She hopes she keeps getting directing work: ?I love directing and I would love to be allowed to do more films and I hope I?m a good enough director to keep getting jobs. Most of my films are based on a history that?s important to me. I don?t have the same connection with By the Sea although it?s important because humanity in life is important. But I think I am more comfortable making war films, to be honest. Not that marriage can?t be a little bit like that.?

I?m not sure what to make of ?I think I am more comfortable making war films.? Like, maybe By the Sea proved that Angelina?s strength isn?t ?moody domestic films.? But I?ve seen Unbroken and while she had moments of genius in directing that film, I wouldn?t say that her strength is directing war movies. Maybe it?s just going to be one of those ?try and try again? things. And why shouldn?t it be? Mediocre male directors gets tons of opportunities to peddle their mediocre visions. Why shouldn?t women?

Given all that she?s accomplished, both personally and professionally, it?s only natural that Angelina Jolie is the honored recipient of WSJ Magazine?s Entertainment/Film Innovator of the Year award.
In her cover story for the November 2015 issue, the ?Girl, Interrupted? gal chats about her new movie ?By the Sea? in which she starred alongside husband Brad Pitt as well as served as director- ?It was not easy. We just had to be brave and say, ?OK, honey, we?re strong enough to do this; let?s somehow use this to make us stronger.??
Angelina also noted that her relationship dynamic with Pitt had to change while they were on the set- ?We had to stay in our corners, like boxers, and not be husband and wife. It was very hard to do those scenes without Brad and I taking care of each other. Normally in between takes, you?d make sure that the other?s OK, but we had to be able to really get ugly.?

OMG. Here are photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at the WSJ. Magazine 2015 Innovator Awards in NYC last night. They are wearing his-and-hers Tom Ford. Is this the first time Angelina has worn Tom Ford? Maybe. Update: she’s worn Tom Ford at least once before. Even though she has about a million black dresses and gowns, I really like this one. It?s flattering, I like the velvet and the back detail and her skin looks great. She doesn?t look so tired here. But Brad still looks exhausted! Jewelry note: Angelina?s earrings are 30 CARAT Lorraine Schwartz diamonds with a ?rose cut.? Do you think she borrowed those or does she own them?
Angelina was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as their ?2015 Entertainment/Film Innovator.? The WSJ. Magazine just released their cover story too, but I?ll be covering the quotes and photos in a separate post because OMG. At the WSJ event, Angelina reunited with her Good Shepherd director, Robert DeNiro. They greeted each other with kisses and DeNiro actually looked pleased to see her.
During Brad and Angelina?s Q&A session two nights ago, Brad was asked about what it was like being directed by Angelina. He said, in part: ?Angie and I have such history now ? 10 years ? we?ve been through many things .?.?. She doesn?t have to say anything for me to know what she?s feeling. I certainly know when she doesn?t like a take.?

This is a surprise! At least to me. I heard something about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt doing a Q&A for By the Sea in NYC, but I didn?t realize there would be photos from outside the event/screening. So here you go ? the Brangelunacy is upon us! So many new Jolie-Pitt photos! Huzzah!
I cannot find the ID on Angelina?s dress. Everyone is describing it as ?vintage style,? but could it possibly be real vintage? Anyway, it?s got that baggy, slightly sacky vibe that I know she likes and it?s got a ?70s vibe too, which fits with the movie. I?m surprised to see her in a real color! She does black and neutrals too often. I enjoy her hair this dark, but my one complaint is that she looks pretty tired. She and Brad need to take a good nap together.
As for Brad? I?m still grateful that he?s in a relatively clean-shaven phase these days. I honestly don?t mind Brad?s scarves, because unlike Johnny ?Scarfy? Depp, Brad?s scarves are not attached to five necklaces, ten rings, a rat-chewed hat, metal chains on his pants and an emergency scarf in the back pants pocket. Brad?s occasional scarves seem more like ?he?s being dressed personally by Tom Ford.?

Has Brad Pitt given any major interviews since he married Angelina Jolie last year? I don?t really remember him sitting down with a magazine or doing some in-depth 60 Minutes piece at all. So? I?m prepared to say that Brad probably gave a mega-exclusive to the as-yet-unreleased new issue of V Magazine. Is it a cover story? Apparently, at least according to Entertainment Tonight ? you can see some screenshots here. All we really know is that the piece will be released mid-November and that Brad is talking about what it?s like being directed by his lover/wife/mother of his children.
More than a year after saying “I do,” Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still crazy about each other. The Oscar-winning actor opens up to V Magazine about working under the direction of his Oscar-winning wife on the romance drama By the Sea, opening Nov. 13.
“It’s surprising how much I enjoy the direction of my wife,” he tells V. “She’s decisive, incredibly intuitive, and might I say sexy at her post. I trust her with my life.”
The couple play spouses in the movie with Angelina taking the role of Vanessa, a former dancer in mid-1970s France, who travels the country with her husband Roland, an American writer, played by Brad. In real life, the couple spends a good amount of time at home raising their six children, and Brad gave one more reason for what makes him a hot dad.
“At the end of the day, we get to be parents, greeting our lovely, crazy children and talking about their day, making sure they brush their teeth,” Brad says.

Brad Pitt thinks it?s sexy when Angelina orders him around, basically. He enjoys a woman in charge. He likes to watch her work. I really do wonder what that says about their sex life. Everyone always believes that Angelina is a vamp, a man-eater, a dominant. Is she really like that though? Is Brad happy enough to let Angelina take charge EVERYWHERE?

God, I just realized that we?re coming up on the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Time flies. Because the tenth anniversary is coming up so quickly (within days), Brad Pitt sat down for an exclusive interview with the New Orleans Times-Picayune/Nola.com. Pitt started Make It Right NOLA a few years after half of New Orleans was decimated by both Katrina and bureaucratic catastrophe and now, seven years later, Pitt?s MIR NOLA has built 109 homes in the Lower Ninth Ward. These homes are designed by architects like Shigeru Ban, Thom Mayne, Frank Gehry, they are all eco-friendly and they all have solar panels. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
Pitt on working with world-famous architects: “Listen, we were very fortunate that they would come in, but they felt the need as well. Actually, this is the definition of architecture: It is solving problems through design. And, again, we’re not talking about aesthetics; we’re talking about function, and that is the holy grail of architecture.?
The Lower 9th: “I think it first became a 21st-century disaster attraction, unfortunately. This became the icon of the place that was hit the hardest and suffered the most, certainly in one condensed area. It certainly seemed to illustrate man’s failure in this particular area. The message (of Make It Right) was to take this spot that was emblematic of such human failure and to make it a human success story on how we can build in the future, how we can build for families, how we can build with quality, and how we can build with the community under their guidelines.”
Early mistakes: ?We went into it incredibly nave, just thinking we can build homes — how hard is that? — and not understanding forgivable loan structures and family financial counseling and getting the rights to lots and HUD grants and so on and so forth. So it’s been a big learning curve.”
Interesting details about the money: According to figures provided by Make It Right, Pitt’s visionary recovery neighborhood has cost $26.8 million. The houses have been sold at a loss, as was always part of the plan, for an average of roughly $150,000 each, with financial assistance to make the mortgages affordable. In exact terms, Make It Right reports that it has provided $5.2 million in supplementary loans that needn’t be repaid and another half-million to cover up-front mortgage costs (closing costs). The cash to fuel the project has come mainly from donations and federal grants. In the first year of the project, $12.3 million came in. In 2011, when the banking crisis deadened the economy, donations dropped to one-sixth that much. Last year, the figure was back up to roughly $6 million, a respectable amount considering that time has naturally dimmed the public’s interest in New Orleans’ ongoing recovery.
Filming in NOLA: “We bring a lot of films down there, our production company. New Orleans is such a great place to shoot and the rebates are phenomenal, so it’s not a big fight with the studios. They’re more than happy for us to get back down there. It’s a very rich place to shoot. It’s my excuse to get back there.”
He?s not going to be in NOLA for the 10-year anniversary: “We’re doing a satirical piece on war, a satirical piece on the decisions that bring about war. That’s the best I can do at the moment.?

It?s an interesting piece because Pitt addresses some of the criticisms lodged at MIR NOLA directly, like the idea of building affordable, sustainable, environmentally sound homes on a budget is a total pipe dream? which the figures sort of prove. But Pitt?s defense is interesting, because he basically says that MIR NOLA wasn?t just about the immediate need for quality lower-income housing in the 9th Ward, it was about figuring out the prototypes that would function all over the country, that MIR NOLA was always meant to be a larger experiment. While I think that?s fine to have larger goals and an eye on the bigger picture for the future of low-income sustainable housing, I also sort of believe that there was some false advertising in how Pitt originally began MIR NOLA. People gave money because they believed Pitt was working towards making homes for New Orleans families only to see the mission statement change mid-stream. Still? it?s an interesting project and I do admire the fact that he stuck with it.
