At this point in his career, he can pick and choose what he wants to do and when he wants to do it, and Brad Pitt has signed on to star in ?The Operators.?
Written and directed by David Michod, the forthcoming project will also be produced by the ?Fight Club? stud and his Plan B partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, so it?s safe to say it?s going to be good.
?The Operators? will be based on the book by Michael Hastings, dealing with the high-profile military career of General Stanley McChrystal.
And of course, there will be plenty of backroom deals, political wrangling and inside moves to shed light on the unseen realm of wartime practices.

Good God, Brad Pitt is looking really good these days. He stepped out last month looking ?refreshed? and then he was out and about on Friday in LA, looking like this. Only Brad Pitt could really pull off a ratty t-shirt and chinos and still look like Tom Ford personally dressed him. I really like his shades too. Brad was photographed as he left the Fahey/Klein Gallery, which apparently has some photography exhibitions. According to Us Weekly, Brad was checking out a Peter Lindbergh exhibit. Lindbergh has photographed Brad several times throughout his career, so there?s a chance Brad was looking at photos of himself.
After checking out the photos, Brad got a parking ticket. Allegedly. I mean, a cop left some kind of paper on Brad?s windshield, but the paper looks too flimsy to be a ticket. I kind of wonder if a cop left his digits for Brad. ?Hey, man, you look awesome! Give me a call XXX, Officer HotBody.?
Oh, and here?s just a little bit more from Star Magazine?s cover story last week:
?The biggest point of contention [between Brad and Angelina] has always been the kids and how to raise such an unruly bunch,? the insider said. ?And both of them are insecure about the relationship: she worries that he cheats, and he think she?ll cheat because she?s 12 years younger than he is.?

Brad Pitt spent many months in England last year filming Fury, a World War II movie with Shia Labeouf, Scott Eastwood and a gaggle of young dudes. The premise of the film sounded sort of interesting, but it also felt like Brad had sort of been there/done that with WWII films. He?s done several in that period of history, like the very memorable Inglorious Basterds. And now he might be returning to the era. Seriously! Why can?t Brad make a Vietnam-era movie?!
Brad Pitt is circling an untitled WWII romantic thriller which Steven Knight has scripted for Graham King?s GK Films. While it?s not a done deal yet and not yet set with a distributor, I?m hearing it?s serious and that a big director will be set with an eye toward starting production early next year.
Pitt produced and co-starred in Best Picture Oscar winner 12 Years A Slave, and he just finished another WWII battlefield film, the David Ayer-directed Fury, which Sony Pictures releases November 14. Pitt also worked the WWII terrain in the Quentin Tarantino-directed Inglourious Basterds. He also starred in and is prepping a sequel to World War Z. He?s repped by CAA and Brillstein.
Knight scripted Eastern Promises, and more recently the British series Peaky Blinders, the Helen Mirren-starrer The Hundred Foot Journey for DreamWorks, and he wrote and directed Locke with Tom Hardy. He?s repped by CAA and United Agents.

Well, the screenwriter has done some interesting projects and I could totally see Brad wanting to work with Knight. Plus, Brad and Angelina have close ties to Graham King and GK Films, so I could also see how he would sign on to do a film with King. I would like to know more about the story, because whenever I hear ?WWII romantic thriller,? my mind goes to Casablanca and The English Patient. While I love both of those films, I?m not sure I want to see Brad Pitt in that kind of ?duty-before-love? or ?making-love-while-the-world-falls-apart? movie. We?ll see! Perhaps Brad just doesn?t want his first post-Oscar film to be a zombie sequel, you know?
PS? You know who does WWII-period films really well and would be a great romantic lead along with Brad? Julianne Moore. Seriously! I bet they would love working with each other.

Several years ago, Angelina Jolie did a photoshoot with Vanity Fair where she wore something like hot pants, revealing her toned thighs. That was notable, but even more so because there seemed to be a never-before-seen tattoo on her right inner thigh. There were some conspiracies and long story short, the Brangeloonies believe that Angelina?s thigh tattoo reads ?Whiskey Bravo.? As in, W-B for William Bradley (Pitt). So, it would seem that Angelina already has Brad inked on her body in a significant (and charming) way. But Radar?s sources think Angelina and Brad are going to get more significant ink ahead of their wedding:
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting matching tattoos for their upcoming wedding, Radar has learned. The superstar couple are deciding ?with what and where they will ink themselves to mark their long-awaited marriage,? a source told Radar.
?Brad really wants to do something special, and frankly, a little weird to mark the occasion, and they want to get the exact same design, in the exact same spot in their bodies.?
Pitt, 50, and Jolie, 38, share a love of body art, but according to the source, the actor?s fascination with tattoos ?took a big leap? once they finally got engaged in 2012.
?Brad is like a teenager again as he and Angelina decide on their matching tattoos,? the source said. ?He?s let Angelina help him pick out tatts in the past but this time it?s a real collaboration. Don?t expect it to be something that?s visible when they?re out day to day. They might just acknowledge to the press that they did it, but keep the actual content of the tattoos as their love secret.?
The 12 Years a Slave actor and producer reportedly has at least nine tattoos, including one of Oetzi the Ice Age caveman on his left arm and Jolie?s birth date in written in Khmer on his stomach.
Jolie has more than a dozen examples of body art, including the geographical coordinates of their six children and a tiger tattoo on her lower back.
Pitt has begun bringing tattoo magazines into his Los Angeles office, ?and leaving them in the lobby when he?s done with them, just so he can see if any designs capture visitors? imaginations,? the source said.

What I?ve always liked about Angelina?s ink in particular is that she generally puts some thought into it and ? especially over the past eight years or so ? she?s gotten ink that is really significant to her, like her children?s birth coordinates or the ?M? tattoo (which is probably for her mom and/or Maddox) or the Whiskey Bravo tatt, which I still think is super-cute. Brad?s tattoos are blah? so I hope he doesn?t get to pick them. He should just let Angelina choose.

Here are some photos of a de-bloated Brad Pitt and a documentary director named Rachel Boynton in LA last night. Boynton directed the documentary Big Men, which Brad executive produced, because he?s a big Oscar-winning producer now (eat it up, loonies). Before we talk about the movie, can we have a word about how Brad looks? He looks? surprisingly good. Surprisingly ?refreshed.? Surprisingly de-bloated. Did he find a good diuretic or a good doctor? CB suggested that it might not be ?surgery? in the traditional sense, that Brad might have gotten a laser peel or something. Whatever is happening, it?s interesting.
As for this documentary, it sounds good. Here?s the synopsis, via IMDB:
The film’s central story follows a small group of American explorers at Dallas-based oil company Kosmos Energy. Between 2007 and 2011, with unprecedented, independent access, Big Men’s two-person crew filmed inside the oil company as Kosmos and its partners discovered and developed the first commercial oil field in Ghana’s history. Simultaneously the crew filmed in the swamps of Nigeria’s Niger Delta, following the exploits of a militant gang to reveal another side of the economy of oil: people trying to profit in any way possible, because they’ve given up on waiting for the money to trickle down. So what happens when a group of hungry people discover a massive and exquisitely rare pot of gold in one of the poorest places on earth?

That does sound interesting. It?s the bit about ?unprecedented, independent access? that?s intriguing. I guess having Brad as executive producer opened some significant doors.
In other Brad news, E! News says that he attended a party for Kings of Leon in LA last Friday. A source says: “Brad was really friendly and having a really good time. He spent most of the night talking with lead singer Caleb Followill.” He also chilled out with Garrett Hedlund.
Also, there was a rumor going around a week ago that Brad Pitt was being considered for Season 2 of True Detective, but Gossip Cop says that?s BS. I don?t know though. It might be an interesting career move for Brad.

I?ve been trying to find a good angle or a close-up for Oscar-winner Brad Pitt?s sleeve and cuff, but I can?t find one. We?ll just have to take this on faith. Life & Style reports that Brad Pitt wore a very special gift from his Oscar-winning fiance Angelina Jolie when he won his first Oscar: she had given him some cufflinks for Christmas one year, and he wore them on Oscar night. Aw.
Brad Pitt put his love on display — literally — for fiance Angelina Jolie at the Oscars Sunday night. The 50-year-old actor, whose film 12 Years a Slave took home three awards, including Best Picture, decided to wear tuxedo buttons and cufflinks from his beloved’s Style of Jolie line ? with famed jeweler Robert Procop ? to the big show.
It turns out Angie specifically made them for Brad — and even gifted them to him during the holidays.
?Brad?s specially designed cufflinks were a gift from Angelina one year for Christmas,? Procop says in a statement.
The sentimental gift consisted of tablet-cut diamonds set into yellow gold. The father-of-six also rocked a diamond dress set (buttons, cufflinks and a ring) from Procop to the 2012.
But Angie wears a design from Brad every single day. In 2013, he popped the question with a gorgeous 16-carat diamond ring, in which he designed with Procop.
To summarize: it’s very good to be Brangelina.

As much as I teased Angelina about her Style of Jolie jewelry, some of those pieces were very pretty and I liked that she used so many semi-precious stones. She seems to love topazes. I tend to think cufflinks are kind of a silly gift for most men, because most men rarely have occasion to dress up to the point of wearing French cuffs. But most men aren?t Brad Pitt! Brad Pitt wears a tuxedo often enough to need cufflinks. And it was lovely that Brad wore Angelina?s gift as a good luck charm.
I actually wondered why Brad didn?t bring his parents again, like he did when he was nominated in the past. Maybe he didn?t want to jinx it. Or maybe his parents were like, ?Yeah, it?s okay, we?ve already been. You kids go ahead!?

Quite honestly, I can?t get enough of these Brangelina BAFTA photos. I think Angelina Jolie is just the kind of woman who likes to bang her men in the limo on the way to a red carpet, because that?s exactly what it looks like in these photos. Brad and Angelina look post-coital, like he untied her as soon as they got into the limo and maybe there was a beej involved too. Damn.
Anyway, Angelina wore Saint Laurent. She?s been wearing a lot of Saint Laurent over the past year? I wonder what that?s about? I don?t know if the ?untied bow tie? detail was part of the original runway look for Saint Laurent, or if Angelina just decided to style it this way, but it?s a great look. Angelina almost always kills it when she does a tailored menswear-inspired look ? she?s one of those woman who can work the hell out of a great suit. Angelina?s earrings are Tiffay?s and she?s wearing her ginormous engagement ring too. Brad?s suit is Valentino? interesting. Usually he?s ride-or-die for Tom Ford.
Brad won too… 12 Years a Slave picked up Best Picture (and Chiwetel Ejiofor won Best Actor too).
I?m so happy that Brad and Angelina did the BAFTA red carpet! I hope there are more appearances and red carpets to come. I mean, obviously I want them to do the Oscar red carpet too, but I want to see more of them leading up the Oscars.

Joining the ranks of top-name entertainers for an unforgettable evening, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived at the 2014 EE British Academy Film Awards in London, England tonight (February 16).
Shutterbugs and fans alike clamored for a closer look as the powerhouse couple worked the red carpet outside the Royal Opera House.
As the 2014 BAFTA Awards gets underway, the friendly camaraderie among the attendees is sure to turn a bit competitive as everyone?s lust for a trophy takes over.
The Leading Actor hopefuls are Bruce Dern, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, while Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Emma Thompson, Judi Dench and Sandra Bullock comprise the Leading Actress pool.

Here are some new photos of Brad Pitt in Pasadena over the weekend. He made a ?secret? (?) trip to a studio and came out with a ?secret? script. I have absolutely no idea what any of that is about. Brad has worked a lot more than Angelina (in front of the camera) over the past four years or so, but I checked IMDB, and he doesn?t have any big acting projects in the immediate future. He?s narrating a Terrence Malick film called Voyage of Time ? perhaps that explains the visit to a studio? Maybe he was going in for voice work. And maybe the script is?? I don?t know, maybe something to do with the sequel to World War Z? He?s already signed on for WWZ2, but I doubt they have much of a script or anything yet.
Brad?s supposedly done filming Fury, so I guess he?s growing out his WWII haircut. I don?t have a strong opinion about it either way ? I like Brad with short hair and with long hair. The only issue is how greasy his hair might look, and he looks pretty clean in this photo.
As for Angelina, I don?t know where she is. Your guess is as good as mine. I hope she?s getting some sleep and eating lots of pasta. She?s probably holed up in some editing room somewhere, piecing together Unbroken. Right now, Unbroken is scheduled for release this Christmas, but we all know that could change. I tend to think Angelina will probably get post-production work on Unbroken done pretty quickly.
Last thing: Angelina and Brad?s second Chateau Miraval rose wine is being described as ?mouthwatering? and everybody wants to guzzle bottles of the Miraval wines. This is one of the best side-projects they?ve ever done!

Praise the Oscar Gods, Brangelina is back in LA!! HUZZAH. Finally, some proper Oscar campaigning for 12 Years a Slave at long last. Do you realize how long it?s been since we?ve seen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on a red carpet together? It was last summer, for World War Z. Do you know how long it?s been since they?ve done an awards season together? Not since early 2012. Too long.
(And, incidentally, this is the beginning of what should be an exciting year in Brangelina-watching: not only do we get 12 Years a Slave Oscar campaigning, but we?ll also get lots of Brangelina for the Maleficent promotion in a few months!)
So, I guess Angelina finally wrapped on Unbroken. That took a really long time, but to be fair to her, it?s a WWII drama with lots of location sets and period costumes and you have to get that stuff right. Brad and Angelina attended the wrap party earlier this week ? there were some great photos floating around, which you can see here.
It?s nice seeing the kids here too. The very idea of traveling with six small children makes me break out in an anxiety rash, but they seem to manage pretty well. Pax with his kickass aviator shades and security toy (a purple bear?), Shiloh looking every bit the badass tomboy (her hair looks amazing), Vivienne looking every bit the girly-girl in her dress-leggings combo, Knox and Zahara holding hands, and of course Maddox with his buds in, trying to ignore his uncool family.
PS? Angelina travels in bold green shawls and flip-flops?! I love it.
