When I was covering those photos of Scarlett Johansson in Venice with her boyfriend Romain Dauriac, I noticed that Scarlett was wearing a very beautiful, very large ring on her left hand, but I didn?t discuss it because? you know how Scarlett is. She thinks she?s so ?above? that kind of petty speculation, and I really didn?t want to be all ?what?s with that ring?? and have all the know-it-all hyper-correcters come in and yell at me. But seriously, there was something with the ring. People Magazine reported exclusively (as in, they got confirmation from Scarlett?s publicist) that Scarlett is engaged to her boyfriend of a year, Romain Dauriac:
Scarlett Johansson is engaged to her beau, journalist Romain Dauriac, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
“They’re engaged and very happy,” a source says of the couple. A rep for the actress had no comment.
The proposal occurred about a month ago. The ring is a vintage Art Deco ring.
Earlier this week, the actress, 28, was spotted wearing the diamond stunner while in Italy promoting her new sci-fi film Under the Skin at the Venice International Film Festival.
Over the past year, Johansson had been spotted wearing diamond rings on her left hand. The last time was in July, when she arrived in Los Angeles wearing an ornate gold ring with a diamond and ruby. That bauble, though, was “simply a piece of jewelry.”

She?s 28 and this will be her second marriage. He?s 31 and I have no idea if he?s ever been married. Not a lot is known about him beyond ?he?s French? and ?he wears unfortunate jeans? and ?he doesn?t wear socks with a tuxedo? and ?Scarlett probably thinks he?s incredibly intellectual.? But maybe that?s a good thing ? I like that she left the Hollywood dating pool and went for a European, and someone who is not an actor. Anyway, I?m happy for her. I get the feeling that she went through a really bad phase, dating-wise, just after she and Ryan Reynolds got a divorce. Remember this douche? How about this one? Romain seems pretty stable and so far, he hasn’t tried to become famous for dating ScarJo. And hey, maybe she?ll move to France for him and have French babies. Why not?

Here’s Scarlett Johansson at the premiere ofUnder the Skinat the Venice International Film Festival and, jesus, I can’t form words anymore. All I can do is sit here drooling and hoping that someone accidentally steps on her dress.
It must have taken all of that guy’s willpower to not look at her boobs in that picture up top. I would have broken eye contact in about 2 seconds and then cried tears of joy.

It only took 5 years since her infamous Golden Globes red dress, but Scarlett Johansson finally busted out the girls in another awesome outfit at the ‘Under the Skin’ premiere. I believe the wait was well worth it, but I hope we don’t have to wait another 5 years to witness cleavage perfection. Fingers crossed.

| Scarlett Johansson in Atelier Versace in Venice: the best she's looked in years' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This is one of the few times where I?ve flat-out loved Scarlett Johansson on a red carpet. Right? ScarJo is a pretty woman, of course, but I?ve never been crazy about her style. She either goes with unsuitable twee/bohemian stuff, or she goes too conservative. These are photos from last night?s Venice Film Festival premiere of Scarlett?s new film, Under the Skin.
Scarlett wore a black Atelier Versace gown with a big, beautiful, statement necklace from Bulgari. The gown would have been okay on another star, but on Scarlett, it is amazing. The fit is incredible, it accentuates all of her best assets and it makes her look five inches taller too. I can even appreciate how she chose such a Deco-looking necklace for this romantic, beautiful gown ? while the necklace and gown don?t go together on paper, they work together on Scarlett. I even like that her hair is sort of loose and messy ? this is the best she?s looked in a LONG time.
I?m also including some additional pics of Scarlett at the Under the Skin photocall. She wore a striped tank from ?Sonia Rykiel?s Resort 2014 collection with high-waisted Roland Mouret pants and black satin Roger Vivier open-toe heels.? She looks sort of like a hipster sailor, but it works.
Also ? she didn?t walk the carpet with her boyfriend, Romain. But she did sit next to him at the premiere. He?s cute when he?s all cleaned up and in a tuxedo.
As for this film, Under the Skin, I?m at a loss to describe it. Scarlett plays an alien. There?s a rave, I guess. Alien Scarlett wears a cheap-looking wiglet. Here?s the teaser trailer:

I have no clue what this Scarlett Johansson photoshoot is for, but finally it’s a step in the right direction. For the past few years, Scarlett’s sex appeal had put me to sleep, so it’s nice to see her work it in some leather booty shorts. Now if only she can lose the top and

Tending to some promotional duties surrounding her new film, Scarlett Johansson showed up for the premiere of "Under The Skin" at the 2013 Venice Film Festival on Tuesday (September 3).
The "Avengers" beauty looked absolutely stunning in all-black as she made her way down the red carpet with director Jonathan Glazer.
Per the synopsis,"Under The Skin" is a story about an alien in human form that is on a journey through Scotland.
The film was slated hit US theaters on August 29, and will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival as well.

Here is Scarlett Johansson arriving at the Venice Film Festival on a water taxi to attend the photocall for her new film, Under the Skin at Palazzo del Casino in Venice, Italy, and she rewarded them with a smile and autographs.
In the film, Johansson plays a sexy alien on a road-trip through Scotland, seducing and destroying men along her route. Over the course of her journey she begins to gain some sensitivity and human emotion.

She?s no stranger to working her mojo for the camera, and Scarlett Johansson showed up at the ?Under the Skin? photocall in Venice, Italy today (September 3).
The ?We Bought a Zoo? actress looked gorgeous as she strolled inside the Palazzo del Casino sporting a black and white top with black trousers and black peep-toe heels as part of the Venice Film Festival.
As for the Presidential race in 2016, Johansson shared that she hopes Hilary Clinton is Barack Obama?s successor.
"I think Hillary Clinton would make a wonderful president. I think we could only benefit from having someone in office who has been a mother. Women have a different perspective and appreciation of humanity because of that maternal instinct ? [Clinton] can only be a step forward."

| Scarlett Johansson declared a 'Modern Marilyn' by Harper's Bazaar: ugh, really' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Scarlett Johansson covers the September issue of Harper?s Bazaar Australia, and I think she covers the American edition too, although Bazaar hasn?t released that cover yet. ScarJo did a photo shoot with Karl Lagerfeld, styled by Carine Roitfeld, and these are the two pics we have ? the Australian cover and the editorial photo.
Carine Roitfeld did something extremely boring ? she made a short list of all of the women she thinks are ?living icons? and she made a slideshow of them. You can see it here. ScarJo is the top lady ? she?s described as a ?modern Marilyn? because of course she is ? but Carine also included Lily Collins (the hell?), Dakota Fanning, Gabourney Sidibe and Zoe Kravitz. Blah. I get so tired of people comparing ScarJo to Marilyn. She helps it along too ? she always says ?yes? to being styled like Marilyn Monroe. It?s boring.
Also ? ScarJo is still active in New York City politics, as always. Scarlett has thrown her support behind Scott Stringer for NYC Comptroller. Lena Duham is supporting Stringer too. You know who else is running for Comptroller? Eliot Spitzer.

| Scarlett Johansson covers the first issue of Vanity Fair France: budget or lovely? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Scarlett Johansson covers the premiere issue of Vanity Fair France. Can you believe that France never had their own edition of Vanity Fair all this time? Weird. Anyway, I don?t think much of the photoshoot ? ScarJo looks pretty boring and I usually think she?s overrated as a model. I?m assuming they were aiming for a ?Young Catherine Deneuve? vibe, but I think we Americans need to acknowledge that we?re never going to produce an American woman who can pull off the Deneuve vibe.
Michel Denisot, the new editorial director of Vanity Fair France, said ScarJo ?has every quality imaginable ? the elegance, beauty, wit and impertinence that would make her a perfectly decent Parisian if she decides to move permanently into the apartment she has bought in Paris not far from here.? Wait, what? ScarJo bought an apartment in Paris?! That must be because she?s dating that Frenchman, Romain Dauriac. I bet she keeps the apartment longer than she keeps the boyfriend, amirite?
By the way, I think many French people might find Scarlett a bit impertinent and self-absorbed these days, considering she recently filed a lawsuit against a French author and publisher for using her name in association with a character in a fictional book. The author doesn?t call the character Scarlett Johansson, the character is merely described as looking a lot like ScarJo:
Scarlett Johansson is seeking to avenge the unauthorized use of her name in a French novel in a suit filed against publisher JC Lattes. She?s seeking compensation and damages from the ?breach and fraudulent use of personal rights,? as well as a ban on ?future transfer of rights and adaptations of the book.?
In the novel The First Thing We Look At, a woman shows up at the door of a mechanic in the northern village of Somme seeking help. At first the mechanic believes she is ?Scarlett Johansson,? though sixty pages later it is revealed she is not the actress but simply a doppelganger named Jeanine Foucaprez.
Author Gregoire Delacourt told newspaper Le Figaro that he was ?stunned? when he was informed of the suit Friday morning, and also noted that he compared the main male character to Ryan Gosling and his boss to Gene Hackman in the book as an almost immediate way to invoke recognition of characteristics for readers.
?This corresponds with the fantasies of our times. All these famous people live with us,? he said, noting that many personal details of Johansson?s love life have been revealed on the Internet and the public feels as if it knows her. ?But I wrote a book of fiction. My character is not Scarlett Johansson, it is Jeanine Foucaprez!?
He describes the novel as an exploration of the ?dictatorship of appearances and the true beauty of women,? and says he chose Johansson, currently the face of Dolce & Gabbana and previously Louis Vuitton, because she is considered the ?epitome of beauty today.?
The First Thing We Look At has been a best-seller in France since its release on March 20.
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
If the fictional character was more broadly associated with ScarJo the celebrity, and if the character was actually a derogatory depiction (like, if the character was a child molester or something), I would have some sympathy for Scarlett in this situation. But as it is? not so much. She?s a public figure and this is fair use. I think if the lawsuit was filed in America, it would be thrown out completely, but I don?t know how the French courts deal with this kind of nuisance lawsuit.
