Scarlett Johansson has embarked upon a bit of a German PR extravaganza, although I cannot figure out what film project she could possibly be promoting other than We Bought A Zoo, but that movie doesn’t come out in Germany until February (and in the U.S. in late December). Perhaps Scarlett is merely promoting her boobs, which are hanging out all over the cover of GQ Germany without any interview tidbits released thus far, so who knows?
In addition, Scarlett has done an interview with Germany’s Gala publication, so some excerpts are available thanks to the power of Google Translate. Until now, we’ve only heard a few sparse details about the dissolution of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds’ two-year marriage, and those statements came from the dude perspective in the relationship. Now, Scarlett has opened up a bit about the depression she suffered after the split and who she turned to for support. Well, other than Sean Penn, who was only around for a few months before they broke up either because she’s too clingy or he told her to go back to school. Anyway, back to the business of Scarlett and Ryan:
On Coping With Divorce: At first I was quite depressed. After about a week or so I pulled myself together and started to go to the gym all the time. Luckily, I’ve got a few very close girlfriends who have been by my side for 15 years now, who I can talk to about everything and confide in. I’ve got a close relationship with my twin brother Hunter as well. And then there’s my grandmother Dorothy. She recently turned 89 - she’s an incredibly sweet, lovely and wise woman.
On Her Relationship Flaws: I will only tell you this: I can be overcritical - with myself and with other people. And I don’t compromise… I pass judgment on people quite quickly. If I don’t agree with someone or if I’m annoyed I will tell people to their face - no matter how hurtful that might be. That can get me into trouble from time to time. When that happens, my friends have to hold me back and say, “Scarlett, you can’t say that!” I’m also incredibly impatient - regarding my job, my family and men. I want things to progress. I hate stagnation!

Now that part of hating stagnation is interesting. Was she referring to wanting to move forward with Ryan into making gerbil babies? I highly doubt that. Could she possibly have been referring to wanting a more serious relationship with Sean Penn beyond sex, toupees, and chain smoking? Quite possibly, but that ship has sailed since Penn has been dating Shannon Costello for the past several months.
At this point though, I think Scarlett is over both Ryan and Sean or, at the very least, she’s distracted enough with filming The Avengers to take some much needed personal time for herself before jumping into another bad relationship. Scarlett’s been photographed by herself a few times this month, including this snap taken outside the NYC Plaza hotel. Her awkward foot placement reminds me of the ankle-snapping pose at the White House Correspondents Dinner:
Here, Scarlett goes incognito with her iPhone and an apple. She sort of pulls it off, but her mouth is a dead giveaway.

Opening up about a sensitive subject, Scarlett Johansson interviewed with GALA magazine about her separation from ex-husband Ryan Reynolds.
The 26-year-old actress confessed that the split left her in a somber state, as she said, "At first I was quite depressed. After about a week or so I pulled myself together and started to go to the gym all the time."
Blaming her "overcritical"" and "incredibly impatient" tendencies on the demise of their two-year union, Johansson told, "I pass judgment on people quite quickly. That can get me into trouble from time to time."
And while she had a difficult time post-breakup, Scarlett praised those close to her for helping her through the challenging moments, saying, "Luckily, I've got a few very close girlfriends who have been by my side for 15 years now, who I can talk to about everything and confide in."

The trailer for the upcoming Avengers movie finally debuted on the web so now all the superheroes in those so-so movies you watch this year will be teaming up to give you even more mediocrity. The only thing I ask from this movie is Robert Downey Jr. not to dial it in and more shots of Scarlett Johansson clad in leather standing in front of explosions for no reason at all. It’s just so cool, man! Even Michael Bay got an erection.

Stepping out in support of her political favorite, Scarlett Johansson hosted a fundraiser backing possible Mayoral candidate Scott Stringer at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on Monday evening (October 3).
The swanky affair sought to bring in campaign cash with tickets ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, with the "Other Boleyn Girl" actress later scheduled to hold court at another party at Sean MacPherson?s Jane Ballroom in the West Village.
Previously talking about why she's supporting Stringer, Miss Johansson told Us magazine, ?Scott?s passion for New York is contagious. ?We share a love for this city?s diversity and culture. As a native New Yorker with a political history dedicated to community development, Scott?s priorities echo my own."
The 26-year-old added, ?When Scott is elected mayor, [we] can expect a representative who is focused on making New York a cleaner, greener city, providing affordable housing and preserving the integrity of our varied communities."

A new pic of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in the upcoming Avengers movie hit the interwebs today, so in honor of my fellow fanboys, I’m passing it along to you. Even if the angle in the picture makes it look like a still from a damn hemorrhoid commercial. Like they’d say, “Hemorrhoids got you feeling like this?” and then cut to that image, then close in on a tube a tube of ointment being held in a gloved hand and then back to Scarlett, who’s now smiling confidently because her asshole is no longer on fire. It really kinda ruins the whole boner-factor altogether.

Scarlett Johansson gave an interview to CNN, her first since her semi-nude self portraits leaked almost two weeks ago. Unlike previously leaked nude photos from celebrities seeking publicity, Scarlett’s seemed to be genuinely hacked and released without her permission. She got the FBI involved early on.
In her brief statement to CNN, (video above) Scarlett was very pragmatic and well spoken. She seemed kind of badass about it actually, in that she just discussed the issue of her privacy in general and didn’t get into the specifics of her photos getting out. She discussed how it affected her and was firm about it, but she didn’t seem outraged or anything. It was impressive because she never made a reference to the pictures or the scandal, and didn’t remind us that she was stupid enough to take those photos of herself in the first place.
Why is it important to protect your privacy particularly when it comes to illegal acts to try and breach it?
I think the question is sort of redundant. Who doesn’t want to protect their own privacy?
Just because you’re in the spotlight or just because you’re an actor or make films doesn’t mean that you’re not entitled to your own personal privacy.
No matter what the context, when that is sieged in some way it feels unjust, it feels wrong. I’ve gotten that response from many people that I’ve met now. They say ‘how do you deal with the invasion of privacy?’
I don’t know. To me it’s an adjustment. There are certainly instances I think where you give a lot of yourself, finally you just kind of put your foot down and say ‘wait, I’m taking it back.’

Scarlett was in Nairobi, Kenya presumably talking about the extreme humanitarian crisis in the region. (Although I can’t find another video from the interview other than this one.) She is an Oxfam ambassador and just visited a refugee camp in Africa. She issued a moving statement about her visit and the need for International aid, saying in part that “Over half the Somalis that have died are children; an entire generation lost. This is no longer an issue that can only garner some attention, some of the time. Extreme action must be taken by the global community now.” (You can donate to Oxfam here.)
Scarlett also hit Milan fashion week for the Dolce & Gabbana show, wearing this peach dress with lace overlay paired with gold Dorothy sequin heels. (Scarlett represents D&G) I don’t like this dress, especially those ugly shoes, but at least she’s not wearing this to a major awards show like the weird purple and red lace D&G number she wore to the Oscars. I love her hair here though. The lipstick is a little too garish and I’m not a fan of the white eyeshadow, but her hair is so beautiful that it’s easy to overlook. They were going for old Hollywood with her styling and didn’t quite get it right.
Getting back to Scarlett’s nude photo mini-scandal, have you seen this website ScarlettJohanssoning.com where people mimic her pose holding up a towel while taking a photo of their bare asses in the mirror? It’s NSFW obviously, and it’s fascinating. Some of the photos are kind of gross though.

Not letting her nude photo debacle hamper her fashionable plans, Scarlett Johansson continued forth with a full day of appearances in Milan, Italy on Sunday (September 25).
The "We Bought a Zoo" actress looked stunning in a black halter dress with black and white heels as she took to the Dolce & Gabbana Gold Restaurant for a fancy dinner party alongside the eatery's namesakes, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The swanky night-capping soiree followed ScarJo's attendance at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show as part Milan Womenswear Fashion Week earlier in the day.
At the runway extravaganza, the 26-year-old took in the highly-regarded designers' latest looks from a front row perch alongside Bianca Brandolini d'Adda, Carolina Crescentini and Felicity Jones.
