These are new photos of Sarah Jessica Parker outside of The Late Show yesterday. The outfit is Prabal Gurung. Thoughts? It?s looks like an acid trip too me - the colors are too saturated, the Pink is too childish, the pants are too high. I?m not saying that all high-waisted pants are bad - I actually think these pants are flattering on SJP, but overall the outfit is bad on her, IMO. Oh, and white shoes? It?s like color-blocked Saturday Night Fever on an acid trip.
By the way, have you heard about SJP?s Nightline interview with Katie Couric? I?ve included the ABC video below - SJP talks and talks about lots of stuff, being a mom and working a lot and all of that, but there?s one particular thing that people are dissecting - SJP claims that she drives a minivan. Jezebel had a piece yesterday on whether that was true - go here to read it. Here?s the

| Sarah Jessica Parker in shiny Antonio Berardi: ruined by terrible hair? | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Sarah Jessica Parker is still in London, living it up and promoting I Don?t Know How She Does It. I haven?t seen any red carpet photos of SJP in London, so I guess there hasn?t been a UK premiere yet? But we?re still getting a daily fashion show. This charcoal metallic number is Antonio Berardi, a designer I know little about, but he?s growing in popularity. It seems like half of Hollywood is wearing him these days. I think the suit is really pretty, and very flattering on SJP?s thin figure. It covers up what needs to be covered up (her arms), and the shimmer is lovely.
My only complaint is the hair. Jesus, SJP, STOP. She had a good hair day at the photo call, so why does it look like such a disaster in these photos? I feel like SJP thinks that this is ?high fashion? - probably because designers send their models out on the runway with this kind of screwed up half-fro. File this hair under: Things That Only Work On The Runway.
And here are some more photos of SJP today - I love her coat in these pics:

Sarah Jessica Parker is in London now to promote I Don?t Know How She Does It. It?s a one-woman promotional tour for some reason, which is weird because the film is an ensemble (although SJP does have the lead role). SJP was just in Moscow earlier this week for a photo call and premiere, and now London is getting the same treatment. These photos - the ones with SJP in the black and yellow dress - are from the IDKHSDI photo call. I HATE the dress, which I haven?t gotten an ID on yet. The dress looks really cheap and tacky, and it?s not flattering on SJP at all. But! I do think her hair and makeup look really good here. The light even flatters her crazy, veiny arms. UPDATE: The dress is Prabal Gurung. Still hate it.
By the way, did you hear about SJP?s Russian bodyguard who tried to kiss her? First, SJP signed his furry chest, and then she posed for photos with him, and then he tried to kiss her and she screamed. There?s video!
So crazy. At least it was outside, with witnesses. It could have been a lot worse.
Here are some photos of SJP just out and about in London, probably on her way to do some interviews. I really like this business look on her, and I would love to see her dress like this on red carpets. The jacket is Chanel, the bag is Louis Vuitton. That pale yellow is flattering on her.

Sarah Jessica Parker and her crazy arms are still in Moscow, promoting I Don?t Know How She Does It. I just saw a new commercial for the film which I found very interesting. In previous trailers and commercials for it, SJP was featured heavily, to ensure that viewers knew that SJP had a starring role and that the film was probably just like Sex and the City. I guess some marketing genius finally figured out that the SJP-centric plan was probably doing more harm than good, and new commercials make the film seem ensemble-heavy, with more air time for Christina Hendricks, Seth Meyers, Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear.
Anyway, SJP did the Moscow photo call for the film in this totally odd Prabal Gurung lace print dress from the Fall 2011 collection. I really, really dislike the fabric and the pattern, but I?ll give SJP credit for a few things - the dress is cut beautifully, it looks good on her figure, and her hair looks pretty good. Yesterday, SJP wore that weird, caped, orange-red gown that I was also pretty meh on.
Any thoughts as to why IDKHSDI?s promotion has begun in Moscow of all places? There hasn?t been an American premiere or a European premiere. I wonder what?s up with that? The film doesn?t look very good (to me), but I suspect it will have a decent box office. Here?s the trailer and the poster for the film again:

These are new photos of Sarah Jessica Parker at the Moscow premiere of I Don?t Know How She Does It. SJP is wearing Giambattista Valli - which is okay. I don?t really think it?s her color, but I like the dress a lot. It would have looked great on SJP in a blue or purple, not this orange-red. Also: I dislike her hair here - she looks so much better with soft hair, and I have no idea why she scrapes everything back like this. And the cape is a bit much, but I think I know the reason for it, which I will get to in a moment. First, SJP wants us to know that all of those rumors about a third Sex and the City film are just that - rumors. Nothing more:
Sarah Jessica Parker may have recently said there?s more of the story to tell for ?Sex and The City,? but as of right now, there are no plans to share that vision wide with a third big screen installment.
?I don?t know of a movie in the imminent, or near, or even distant future,? Sarah Jessica Parker told Access Hollywood on Thursday in New York City as she promoted her upcoming box office feature, ?I Don?t Know How She Does It.?
Sarah Jessica said she and the ?SATC? team would know when the time is right.
?I?ve always trusted that we?ve had a sense of when that timing, what is the right timing for a movie,? she said.
?Honestly, I?m not being cagey,? she continued. ?There is no discussion currently of a ?Sex and The City 3. Do I hold it out in my future in some way as a possibility? Of course.?
As for when it might take shape, Sarah Jessica had no answers, but she does know when it won?t happen.
?I don?t see it within the next year or so,? she said.
[From Access Hollywood]
So, we can all breathe a sigh of relief on that one. Hopefully, nothing will happen and we?ll be spared another cat-faced monstrosity masquerading as feminism.
Which brings me back to SJP and why she?s wearing a cape. A few days ago, paparazzi got shots of SJP in a sleeveless top, and HER ARMS. The photos are below, but just beware: you cannot un-see this. Whatever is happening with her arms is much, much worse than Madonna. And Angelina. And whoever else you?re thinking of. Now, I?m not saying every woman over a certain age should cover her arms - I?m seriously NOT saying that. I?m just saying that for SJP, she might think about wearing sleeves more consistently. And putting on a little weight too.

Sarah Jessica Parker is still engaging in wall-to-wall promotion for her upcoming movie, I Don’t Know How She Does It, which (as Kaiser points out) looks exactly like “SATC” only she’s Miranda. So while she’s not busy actively refusing to split the atom of her marriage to Matthew Broderick, SJP is doing more interviews about what it was like to grow up poor and how wonderful it is to be rich now. Okay, she doesn’t actually talk about how great it is to a Salma Hayek degree or anything, but SJP clearly does reside within a wealth bubble despite her humble upbringing. Still, SJP insists that she’s not all about the money because, as she puts it, the goal was always to be a “great actor” instead of thinking about the cash, which is just an incidental benefit, right? You be the judge:
On Her Acting Philosophy: “I didn’t plot a future like this, although I know some people do. When Matthew and I started working, all we knew is that we wanted to be great actors. I don’t think I ever thought about money or that people would know my name.” Her face electric with enthusiasm, she adds, “I loooove the work!”
On Growing Up Poor: Money was tight. “We were very aware of it,” says [SJP's Brother]. “We saw the guy come to turn off the electricity, and my mother had to convince him not to because of the children.” As Parker says, marveling at her own financial transformation, “When I was a little girl getting free lunches in Cincinnati, could I imagine being on a list in Forbes magazine?”
On SJP’s Real-World Suggestions On Set: “She’s so personable and friendly, a very solicitous kind of person,” says Doug McGrath, the director of I Don’t Know How She Does It, adding that Parker offered real-world suggestions on the set, like “most mothers would hold on to a stroller with both hands.” The actress says she relates to the character she plays in her new film, especially the “coordination on the level of a military operation” required to run both career and family.
On Juggling Family & Work: “We’ve had two occasions recently where both Matthew and I were working, and it was so hard on the kids,” Parker says. “Especially James Wilkie, because he can really articulate how he feels about our absence. On the other hand, there are big chunks of time when we’re home a lot more than conventionally working parents. So you hope to make up for it.” She and Broderick employ babysitters, but they don’t have live-in help. “We love closing the door and having the only people in the house be our three children and us. It’s such a good feeling to know that we?re competent and capable and that it’s private,” she says. A typical evening at their Greenwich Village townhouse goes like this: “I give the girls their bath every night. Matthew cooks amazing things-last Saturday, pasta amatriciana and broccoli rabe, plus fennel sausage that he made. He does complex things, and I make simple things for the children.”
On How SJP & Broderick Have Changed Each Other: Parker laughs, ticking off a disparate list of things Broderick has helped her appreciate: baseball, Parmesan cheese, color (”Matthew’s mother was a painter, and he taught me to love colors and break all the rules”). She also says that “he’s given me a little cynicism,” noting that she used to take the world at face value but that her husband is more skeptical. “I’m less Pollyanna now. That’s probably healthy.”
On Refusing To Do Nudity: “When I did Sex and the City, I told Darren [series creator Darren Star], ‘I’m just not comfortable with it. It’s not some righteous thing, I’m thrilled if other people do it.’ He said, ‘Great, no problem.’ And on another movie, it came up and I said no and they said fine. There might have been [a role] I lost because of it, but I don’t think so-I think people would have said, ‘Would you reconsider?’ Now I’m so old, I think I should have done it when I was young.”
[From Parade]
Well, I can heartily agree with SJP that on-screen nudity is definitely not for her, and I promise that my opinion has nothing to do with her age or her looks otherwise. She’s just so skinny that, no, I really don’t have any desire to see her naked. However, I do find the “Pollyanna” remark to be quite strange, but perhaps it’s just a word that she uses a lot. In her August Vogue profile, SJP also made a “Pollyanna” reference about borrowing expensive clothes by saying, “Not to sound too Pollyanna about it…” Yet now, she’s claiming to be not-so-Pollyannaish. What does it all mean? Also that bit about how most mothers use both hands to push strollers seems rather tedious at best. Did the filmmakers really need to be told this information? Who knows. Anyway, I hate to nitpick (really), but most mothers also wouldn’t leave their infant twin daughters behind while they jetted off to Europe for a few months to film Sex and the City 2. Just saying.
Here’s SJP looking like a clothes hanger on the New York City set of I Don’t Know How She Does It. Matthew might very well be an “amazing” cook, but I doubt that his wife eats hardly any of that wonderful food.

Yesterday, CB covered the first excerpts from Sarah Jessica Parker?s Marie Claire cover piece for September. In a funny twist, especially considering CB is the one who usually gives SJP the benefit of the doubt much more than me, CB seemed as annoyed with SJP as I usually am. The thing about Sarah Jessica is that you want to like her, and you might actually have some residual warmth for her after all of those years of watching Carrie Bradshaw, and then she opens her mouth and ruins it. SJP?s interviews are the worst. She just tries too hard to project an image of a working mother who is all at once the best, most precious mother in the world as well as the one of the world?s busiest actresses and multi-taskers. It?s all a bit much. Anyway, in the Marie Claire interview, SJP gets all Goopy about her marriage:
With a hectic work schedule, three young children and a fourteen year marriage to nurture, Sarah Jessica Parker has a lot on her plate. The 46-year-old Sex And The City star has revealed that she has a fairly unusual way of dealing with all the pressures that life throws at her and her husband, actor Matthew Broderick. They chose not to discuss their marriage.
‘We don’t talk about our marriage a lot, which is probably wise,’ she admitted to Marie Claire magazine in their September issue. ‘There are so many other things in our lives that take precedence over the splitting of the atom of our marriage.’
Sarah and Ferris Bueller star Matthew, 49, married in May 1997 and have three children together - James Wilke, 8, and two-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion.
The I Don’t Know How She Does It star also discussed how she balances life with her family and work.
‘I love, love, love being an actor,’ she says.
‘It’s still the hardest and scariest thing I do, outside of parenting. But I’ve always been someone who likes a busy day. I love the opportunities, and if I can manage my time and the children are okay and we’re okay, it’s hard to say no?’
[From The Mail]
?Splitting of the atom of our marriage???? Girl. I feel like this is SJP?s way of saying that Matthew is never around and when he is, he doesn?t even want to speak to her. I bet he doesn?t want to split the atom of child-rearing. I bet he doesn?t want to split the atom of fidelity. I bet he doesn?t want to split the atom of two careers. And I bet SJP doesn?t want to split the atom of divorce. What is with these women who stay in these horrible marriages?

| Sarah Jessica Parker defends her street cred: I work hard not to trade on my celebrity | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here we go again with Sarah Jessica Parker declaring how she’s so normal and multi-tasking. This seems to be her preferred topic of conversation, and in case you think I’m exaggerating you can read all about it in these interviews. Parker is on the cover of Marie Claire this September, and I guess she’s promoting I Don’t Know How She Does It with Pierce Brosnan, which is out on September 16 in the US.
In the interview, Parker takes offense at a NY Post story that claimed that she tried to ditch jury duty and called it “character assassination.” She also said that she works hard not to trade on her image or take favors because she’s famous.
On a Page Six item claiming she complained about being called for jury duty: “For Page Six to be so cavalier - I was so outraged by the character assassination! I have served so many times, I was asked to come speak at Jury Appreciation Day! I expect I should be more calloused by now, but I am so sensitive about not ever living up to anybody’s worst idea about an actor who is well-known.”
On not wanting to be a celebrity: “I never wanted to be a celebrity; I never wanted to be famous. And in my daily life, I work really hard to not trade on it in any way. I am so desperately worried about anybody saying, ‘She cut in line’ or ‘She took our table’ or She got out of jury duty’ or ‘She doesn’t do her own grocery shopping.’ The things that bother me are counter to who I am and the way I live. It’s not like it’s hard to be decent and respectful and well-behaved. I do wait in line, and I do take the subway, and I do do my own grocery shopping, and I do take the kids to school.”
[From Marie Claire]
Parker is part of the rarefied set in New York, where people like Linda Evangelista claim they need $48k a month in child support so they never have to be alone with their kids. To her it is laudable to have nannies that don’t stay overnight and to walk her child to school when it’s not like she has to be somewhere for eight hours that day. She wants some credit for that because her friends aren’t doing it and it’s going above and beyond what’s expected of parents in that world of the obscenely rich. It sounds insincere to the rest of us who do it on our own and hold down regular jobs, though. It only serves to reveal how disconnected Parker is from the people she supposedly strives to emulate. It’s like she wants credit for doing normal things, because that makes her so different and somehow more real.
Also isn’t that cover kind of fug?

46-year-old Sarah Jessica Parker poses with her two-year-old twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, son James Wilkie, and even husband Matthew Broderick in a Mario Testino photo shoot for next month’s Vogue magazine. Just to be clear, Sarah Jessica’s the one on the left in the above photo, not the one drinking out of the bowl the little girl is holding on the right. You’d think the editors at Vogue would know better than to put a horse in the same shot.
