Gah, I am a sucker for a really bold and striking graphic on a big stage. So many women go for solid colors on a red carpet, which I understand it?s a safer choice, and if you go with a big, bold graphic, you might end up looking like you?re wearing a cartoon. But this is just? magnificent. These are photos from Cannes Day 3, the gala premiere of Sorry Angel. Amber Heard wore this incredible Valentino gown with one of the best ?skirts? of the year. Honestly, I don?t like the top part the gown should have had more coverage, even if she?s small-breasted enough to make this work without looking obscene. The slim boob-covers resemble suspenders and detract from the magnificence that is THE SKIRT.
Speaking of bold, here?s Cate Blanchett in Mary Katrantzou Spring 2018. It?s a puffy mullet dress. I imagine that it ?crunches? when she sits down. I mean, I like that Cate went bold and a little crazy. But this dress is not my cup of tea.
After all that big drama, La Seydoux in this Louis Vuitton mini-dress is kind of meh, right?
Araya A. Hargate in Ralph and Russo Fall 2017. The R&R made me think of Meghan Markle and wedding dresses, and then I couldn?t stop giggling because? imagine if Meghan Markle wore this on her wedding day?? Something with a sheer skirt and granny panties? Come on, the Queen would freak the fk out. Anyway, this gown is soap-opera-star-at-the-Daytime-Emmys.
Sui He also wore Ralph and Russo, this gown is from the Spring 2018 collection. To my eyes, this reads on-camera as an off-white, but technically it?s supposed to be ?pale mint green.? If Meghan Markle does go with R&R for her wedding gown, I hope it?s more like this the skirt of this gown is flat-out exquisite. The whole gown is gorgeous, but they wouldn?t let Meghan go strapless for her wedding!

Bella Hadid is in Cannes, and these photos are from two events she did on Thursday. She and Alexander Wang did press events for? Magnum ice cream. Truly. Magnum has sponsored events in and around Cannes for years, so I?m not surprised by that, but I am slightly surprised that Bella Hadid and Alexander Wang were literally sitting there, doing a press conference about ice cream. And now I?m sitting here, wondering if someday, someone will invite me to Cannes to sit beside Carolina Herrera and do a press conference about bacon.
Bella looks flat-out amazing at both of the press events, don?t @ me. In the white dress, Bella looked so young and fresh and happy. She looked more professional and ?let?s just keep it about ice cream, sir? in the grey ensemble. Both outfits are Alexander Wang, obviously. Unfortunately, the ice cream was overshadowed OR WAS IT by the fact that The Weeknd came to the ice cream party and he and Bella ended up making out:

Here are some photos from the giant LA premiere for Solo: A Star Wars Story. This film will probably make a billion dollars without breaking a sweat, but I still hope the shambolic energy around these Star Wars spinoffs gets tamped down in the future. The producers need to start planning sh-t out better so these films won?t need to replace the directors in the middle of production. They also need to figure out a way to make these movies without needing six weeks of reshoots at a cost of $100 million or whatever.
Anyway, enjoy the fashion and the men. Emilia Clarke has blonde hair right now because I guess she?s currently filming the last season of Game of Thrones, wherein the Mother of Dragons is banging her nephew. Emilia wore Valentino to this premiere and? how do you feel about this? The rich color would have looked better if Emilia was back to brunette. I don?t hate the fabric. I do dislike the Scarlett O?Hara vibes though. She looks like she?s about to argue against tearing down a Robert E. Lee statue.
Poor Alden Ehrenreich. They should have just made Lando: A Star Wars Story.

Thandie Newton in Dior Spring 2018. I don?t know how to feel about this? I think I might feel like I really hate it.
Sofia Vergara in Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018. Eh. This is not good on her, but props to Sofia for changing it up a bit.
Alexandra Daddario in Giambattista Valli Resort 2018. I have mixed feelings about this the fabric could have looked amazing if this was a simpler gown, but the high neck makes it seem so fussy and grandmotherly.
