I always hate it when I hear about celebs leaving New York City and moving to L.A. For some reason, it makes me feel like New York is just a little less special without them. But in Mariah Carey?s case I?ll make an exception. Mariah is planning on hightailing it from Manhattan and moving to the west coast. Why? To work on her acting career, which has apparently become a priority in her life. This would normally be the spot where I?d make fun of ?Glitter,? ? which was easily the worst film of this decade. But she actually got great reviews for her work in ?Tennessee? this past year, so her plans might not be totally ridiculous after all.
IS Mariah Carey giving up on New York? A music industry insider said, “She and [husband] Nick Cannon are looking for houses in Santa Monica. They want to move to Los Angeles permanently. She wants to act more and she has to be on the West Coast to do that. And well, then, he’s got his . . . career. Whatever that is.” Carey just got rave reviews for her role in the indie flick, “Tennessee.” Her rep declined to comment.

I love the little jibe at Nick Cannon. Who I?ve got to admit has the most confusing IMDB resume I?ve ever seen. For a guy that hasn?t done more than two movies I could name, he?s got the longest list of projects imaginable. None of which are memorable. But it does look like he works a lot, just not at anything that would make you say, ?Oh, so he does such-and-such.?
Mariah might want to take a lesson from Nick and stick with the one thing she?s proven she?s good at, instead of fanning out too much. Wait, that implies Nick excelled at something. Well, nonetheless, I hope she?s not giving up on singing. Her music should still be her priority ? she?s proven time and again that she?s got tons of talent, and she?s managed to stay on the top 40 charts for over fifteen years ? without constantly reinventing herself like Madonna.

Less that a week after Jerry Springer announced that would not be back to host the 4th season of America's Got Talent, NBC announced that Mr Mariah Carey aka Nick Cannon will be filling his shoes according to Variety.
That is def an interesting choice to go with Judges Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
Personally I think he will do an OK job, but just not sure how well he will mesh with the others how are already on the show?

On Wednesday Kaiser mentioned Mariah Carey treating husband Nick Cannon like her assistant during the inauguration. She also noted that Mariah?s brand of crazy is pretty harmless. Very true ? but still fun to mock. Apparently Mariah was unhappy with the seating arrangements in D.C. No, not because some really tall guy was blocking her view. In fact she had lovely digs in a special celebrity section. You?d think that?d be enough for her, right? I mean she didn?t have to congregate with the general masses.
But for some reason Mariah was under the impression that she?d be seated with the Obama family. Yeah, that?s right, the seating order should have gone Barack, Michelle, Mariah, Sasha, and Malia.
SOME divas cling to their high-maintenance ways even at moments of historic national import. Mariah Carey, who performed at the Neighborhood Ball for President and Michelle Obama, was “furious” when she found out where she’d be seated for the inauguration.
A spy said, “Mariah was in the VIP area, where every celebrity, like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, was seated. But somehow she thought she’d be up with the Obama family. When she realized she wasn’t, she bailed.”
A rep for Carey declined to comment.

I really don?t want to laugh at someone being so stupid? but I mean come on! How in the world is anyone so self-centered that they could assume they?d be sitting with the president?s family? That just makes no sense to me. There?s crazy, and then there?s dumb. And unfortunately Mariah is clearly a sad combination of both. I would be totally mortified if I?d made such a stupid blunder. But then to draw more attention to it by leaving? that?s just sad.
Mariah, you are a B-list celebrity. You?d still be on the C-list if it weren?t for randomly marrying Nick Cannon, which confused everyone. Even for you, it?s time to deflate the ego a bit.

Mariah Carey may have been given the honor to perform for the president of the United States at the Neighborhood Ball, but that didn’t stop her from whining.
Mariah was “furious” at the seating arrangements. She thought she would be sitting right next to the Obamas. Turns out she had to sit with the other losers in the VIP area.

I hope Obama’s staff knows what they’ve done. Hell hath no fury like a Mariah Carey scorned. She’s likely to unleash her unholy Hello Kitty army on them. Wait until they’re mercilessly beaten by thousands of fictional Japanese cats. Then maybe next time they’ll think twice about not sitting her next to the Obamas.

Reports are coming in from the inaugural balls that Nick Cannon acts more like as assistant than a husband to wife Mariah Carey. Shocking. Even though I?d imagine that nearly any man who married Mariah Carey would have to perform some assistant-like duties, I wonder why this is considered breaking news. As many have pointed out before, Nick tends to walk two paces behind Mariah when they make public appearances. For all we know, she makes him walk behind her in private, too. Nick has pretty much given up his career to be at Mariah?s side full-time. And now they?ve taken their employer-employee relationship to Washington.
When Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon surprised the world last April with their quickie romance and wedding, many speculated on just why the couple rushed to the altar. But judging by the pair’s behavior at the Sundance Film Festival and yesterday’s inauguration festivities, it might just be that the superstar liked the idea of having a helping hand by her side at all times.
At Tuesday morning’s swearing-in ceremony for new president Barack Obama, onlookers tell OK! that it was hard to tell Mimi’s hubby from her security detail as they made their way through the crowd.
“Nick looked more like an assistant than her husband,” says an onlooker. “He walked next to her, making sure that she was okay. He wouldn’t leave her side.”
This comes after several days for the couple at the snowy Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where they were similarly inseparable.
“Everywhere Mariah went, there was Nick,” one Sundance source tells OK!. “He was opening doors for her, carrying things for her.”
Of course, none of this is to imply there’s any marital discord between the pair. “They looked great together and very happy to be at the inauguration,” the D.C. witness tells OK!.

Even though I?m happy to call out extravagant and dangerous divas like Madonna (my opinion), I tend to think Mariah?s crazy is pretty harmless. After living with Mariah for many months, perhaps Nick just stays close to her because he?s afraid she?ll get overwhelmed and freak out. I?m also starting to wonder about those pregnancy rumors. The did-she or didn?t-she drink alcohol questions have been pestering Mariah for the past few months, and as far I as I can see, she hasn?t even taken a sip of wine. If Mariah is pregnant, it might explain why Nick is staying so close to her and striving to meet her every need - that?s his baby?s mother!

Adding her voice to the multitude of Obama supporters, Mariah Carey was at the Neighborhood Ball to sing in the new President last night in Washington DC.
The “Always Be My Baby” singer donned a gorgeous black velvet floor-length gown and sang into a rhinestone-encrusted microphone (with matching mic stand) much to the delight of the audience.
