News, sources close to Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley condirmed to Radar and now People that the couple is just days away from finalizing an adoption. Radar reports that Josh and Katherine will be adopting a baby girl from South Korea named Nayleigh, nicknamed Leigh. I love the name Leigh - it?s always seemed to me a very Southern name, and a lot Southern girls have ?Leigh? as their middle name. Sandra Leigh, Jennifer Leigh, Grace Leigh, Georgia Leigh, you get the picture. All that being said, I find the name Nayleigh very strange. I?m trying to say it out loud, and it just comes out like I?m a drunk Southerner: Is it pronounced ?Naw-Lee? or ?Neigh-Lee??
Katherine Heigl is adopting a baby this week, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively. The Grey?s Anatomy star is becoming a mom to a baby girl, sources told RadarOnline.com.
Heigl and husband Josh Kelley have wanted a baby for a long time, the source said, and the adoption process has been in the works for at least six months.
The baby is from Korea. Her full name is Nayleigh and her nickname will be Leigh, RadarOnline.com learned. The baby is approximately 10 months old.
?She is thrilled,? a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. ?She and Josh are so happy.?
The idea of adoption is nothing new for the actress, as she told USA Today two years that it’s something she’s “always planned.”
“I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children,” Heigl said.
“[It] doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”
Heigl’s own sister Meg is adopted from Korea. Heigl is on leave of absence from ?Grey?s? and starts filming the big-screen feature Life As We Know It next week.
Katherine also recently hosted costar Ellen Pompeo’s bridal shower. Heigl and Kelley married on December 27, 2007 in Park City, Utah.

Katherine has an adopted sister, Meg, originally from Korea, and Katherine has said before that she feels very strongly pro-adoption. So pro-adoption, at one point last year she seemed very anti-biological children in total, saying ?I?m done with the whole idea of having my own children. [Giving birth] doesn?t seem like any fun. I don?t think it?s necessary to go through all of that.? Just last month while Katherine was promoting The Ugly Truth, she was asked again about getting pregnant, and she said ?One day, sure. But pregnancy scares me. I know I?ll be one of those women who looks pregnant all over the body. I?ll get fatter and fatter from my toes up.?
There were even rumors last year that Katherine was on the verge of adopting from South Korea, but I guess they decided to wait. I was looking up South Korean adoption laws, and I found out something interesting - according to the International Adoption Guidebook, South Korean guidelines include: ?Couples aged 25 to 44 years old who have been married at least three years may adopt. There must be no more than one divorce in each parent?s past. Single parents may not adopt from South Korea.? Katherine and Josh have only been married for about 20 months? so, maybe they got some kind of waiver or something. I?m sure they make exceptions.

Last week ABC announced that Katherine Heigl would be taking a temporary five-week leave of absence from Grey?s Anatomy. Dame Heigl is deigning to grace a film with her presence, you see, so her Grey?s character is leaving for a short while. While we all assumed there was a great ?Hallelujah? on the set of Grey?s, it?s now being confirmed by sources to Betty Confidential. Sources are claiming that after Heigl?s diva behavior (like her disrespectful comments about the Grey?s crew while appearing on The Late Show) have earned her nothing but scorn on the set of the ABC hit show. The cast is ?ecstatic? that Dame Heigl will be leaving for any period of time. Sources also claim that Heigl ?grates on the nerves? of the ABC studio bosses - one of whom called Heigl?s attitutde ?unfortunate? after the Letterman incident. The set of Grey’s Anatomy is about to get a lot more chilled out. Katherine Heigl is taking a leave of absence from the hit show for five weeks to shoot a movie and there are some in the cast and crew who are happy to see her go.
Katherine will begin filming the romantic comedy Life As We Know It this month, and an insider tells BettyConfidential that certain cast members are “ecstatic” that she will be gone for more than a month.
“To say they’re breathing a sigh of relief is a nice way to put it,” the insider says. “They even hope that filming on the set of her movie is delayed so she misses more time.”
It seems Katherine, who has a reputation for shooting off her mouth, has been rubbing people the wrong way since filming began on season six of Grey’s Anatomy.
“Because her last film The Ugly Truth was such a big hit and she’s expecting her upcoming film, Five Killers [with Ashton Kutcher], to be just as big, she’s been rattling cages,” says an insider.
The source tells BettyConfidential that after her best friend T.R. Knight left the show last season, “Katherine’s co-stars expected her to be humbler and easier to deal with, but instead she began complaining from the start.”
Back in July, she moaned to David Letterman about having to work super-long hours on the set. “Our first day back was Wednesday and it was - I’m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them - a 17-hour day, which I think is cruel and mean.”
What she didn’t reveal was that the extended hours were scheduled to accommodate Katherine, so that she could take time off to promote a film. When Letterman asked her how much longer she was going to be on the show, Katherine replied, “Yeah, that’s what I keep wondering.”
But it’s not just the hours that she’s been whining about, according to the insider, Katherine was also complaining about the scripts not focusing enough on her.
“She wants the same attention that Patrick Dempsey gets in storylines, but while he schmoozes the bosses, she grates on their nerves.”
But there’s at least one person on Katherine’s side: her husband, singer Josh Kelley. When Katherine shoots off her mouth, Josh is the one who works hard to smooth things over. “Josh knows her better than anyone and can talk to her,” the insider says.
“Sometimes, Katherine thinks she’s being funny, but Josh will tell her she needs to curb her tongue.”
But it seems that a lot of the time Josh’s calming words seem to fall on deaf ears. Might we suggest a gag next time?
The insider says that Katherine has changed a lot since she joined Grey’s Anatomy back in 2005. “When Katherine first joined the show, she was a breath of fresh air,” says the insider. ?’But by season three, she got a little too comfortable and had an opinion on everything.”
While Katherine does have some friends on the set - she recently held a baby shower for mom-to-be Ellen Pompeo - others think that considering she annoyed ABC’s entertainment president with her complaints on Letterman, she’s fortunate to still have a job on the show. “She’s lucky the show is letting her off for a month and even luckier that they are letting her come back,” the insider says. “Everyone will be a lot more relaxed on the set without her here. There won’t be as much tension.”

I can?t believe Josh has the nerve to tell Dame Heigl to ?curb her tongue?. Doesn?t this peasant know who she is?!? I actually find that the least believable part of the story - that Josh would at any time show a little spine, or say anything to rouse the Anger Bear Heigl. He wouldn?t dare. Heigl would cut him. And burn him with her cigarettes.

Katherine Heigl is temporarily hanging up her Grey’s Anatomy scrubs to concentrate on her movie career.The Knocked Up star has been rumored to be on the verge of quitting the medical drama for some time, after complaining about long work hours and the quality of writing for her character in the series - and now she’s taking a break.Heigl has been given permission to take a hiatus from the show which made her a star, so she can concentrate on shooting new movie Life As We Know It.A spokesperson for Grey’s Anatomy said, “Katherine is taking time off to film a movie. The producers at Grey?s have accommodated past things like that before. It?s a cast of 13 and it is a true ensemble, so the show is mindful (of other commitments).”

Stepping out for some weekend shopping, Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley were spotted in West Hollywood on Saturday (August 22).
Setting the rumor mills reeling, the “Grey’s Anatomy” actress, who wore a loose-fitting dress, and her rocker husband headed to baby store Bel Bambini to pick out a baby stroller.
From there, they made their way to a carpet store where Katherine rifled through a bevy of pastel-colored carpet samples.
The baby rumors are a new thing for Ms. Heigl, who usually claims to have an uneventful life. “I just do the same normal things I have always done. I’m really not very interesting. I don’t go to wild parties or anything like that so I get away with a lot of the so-called trappings of fame.”

Back in July, Katherine Heigl appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to promote The Ugly Truth. When she was asked about the upcoming season of Grey?s Anatomy, Katherine snotted: ?Our first day back was Wednesday and it was ? I?m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them ? a 17-hour day, which I think is cruel and mean.? Letterman replied, ??I?m guessing if you?re working 17 hours, that means you?re not dead,? as if he was willing her to be gracious. Not so much, because Heigl?s reply was, ?What if, however, Dave, I was in a bed in a coma for 17 hours, they could do that to me.? Ugh. The triumphant return of Dame Heigl, right? She got on my good side for a brief moment, and then she destroyed it with that mouth of hers and that snotty attitude.
After that, it kind of became open season on Dame Heigl. We quickly found out that Heigl was part of the reason their first day back was 17 hours long - they had to make up for lost time because Heigl had been given time off to promote The Ugly Truth. Then came the Newsweek piece, ?Why is Katherine Heigl so annoying?? After that, it was Heigl?s Knocked Up costar and director taking a couple of shots at her. So it came as no surprise to learn last week, in the Enquirer, that Heigl?s Grey?s costars now hate her, calling her a ?spoiled brat?. I wondered at the time why Grey?s producers didn?t get rid of Heigl when they had the chance. And now it looks like ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson is wondering the same thing:
ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson responded to Katherine Heigl’s latest gripe about starring in a hit TV show.
“I think it’s unfortunate,” McPherson told TV critics about her comments.
“People are going to behave in the way they choose to behave. There are so many people who work so hard on ‘Grey’s,’ and all of our shows, without any notoriety and those are the ones I’d be concerned about, people who feel like they’re being criticized or looked down upon.”
Aww, that McPherson, he’s always looking out for the little guy.
For those who missed it, Heigl was on David Letterman last month and said about starting production on “Grey’s”: “Our first day back was Wednesday and it was — I?m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them — a 17 hour day, which I think is cruel and mean.”
?I?m guessing if you?re working 17 hours, that means you?re not dead,? Letterman said.
?What if, however, Dave, I was in a bed in a coma for 17 hours. They could do that to me.?
Which is funny because all the critics here in Pasadena on the last day of their press tour marathon would love nothing better right now than to get paid hundreds of thousands to lay in bed for 17 hours.

So, I?ll ask again, if Heigl is this much of a pain in the ass, why didn?t ABC get rid of her? What does it take to get fired in that town? Or is this now network-level situation just a different set of standards, that old Hollywood sexism? If it was Patrick Dempsey complaining about the hours, calling the cast, crew and/or situation ?cruel and mean? and trying to ?embarrass? them on a talk show, would the outcry be different? I really don?t think it would be different, actually. If Dempsey did the same thing, I kind of think we would be sitting here calling him a diva.

Keeping in touch with her close-knit family, Katherine Heigl was spotted leaving a restaurant in Los Feliz after enjoying lunch with her mother on Thursday afternoon (August 6).
Strolling to her car after filling up, the “Ugly Truth” actress looked casual in a grey tee-shirt, white pants, and gladiator flats.
Meanwhile her movie has been hitting theaters everywhere and director Robert Luketic feels he couldn’t have found a better actress to play in the movie.
“Look at her! She’s beautiful and funny and vibrant and touchable, she’s accessible,” he spilled.
He had such a blast working with Heigl that he already shot another film with her and wants to collaborate on another movie for them to do together.
The Australian director says, “Three weeks ago, we rapped a movie called Killers with Ashton Kutcher which we filmed in the South of France and in the US so that was fun. IT was a very big kind of action movie, very different to this. We are looking for our next one.”

Bashing Katherine Heigl has become everybody?s favorite game over the past month. While Heigl?s antics had previously been here and there, every three months or so, she seems to have annoyed and disgusted a rather large and important consistency all at once - the media and her co-workers, all of whom seem utterly revolted with her behavior. First, Katherine decided to complain about her first day back on set at Grey?s Anatomy while appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman. It turned out, she was the one to cause the 17-hour work day. Then, Newsweek did a piece called ?Why is Katherine Heigl so annoying?? in which the word ?shrew? was used more than a few times. After that, it got worse. Both Seth Rogan and Judd Apatow busted Katherine?s annoying chops in interviews last week, all because of her previous statements about their ?sexism?.
After all of that, this little piece seems rather innocuous. It appears that after Katherine?s whines to David Letterman, her Grey?s costars, producers and crew are giving her the silent treatment. They think she?s a ?spoiled brat?:
Katherine Heigl is getting the silent treatment on the set of ?Grey?s Anatomy?. After [she] bemoaned her workload on ?The Late Show With David Letterman?, the star found herself frozen out by her co-workers.
Describing her first day back to work on the hit drama after doing a movie, Katherine whined: ?I?m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them - a 17 hour day - which I think is cruel and mean!?
But the public bellyaching didn?t sit well with her co-workers - especially since SHE was partly to blame for the long hours! ?Producers allowed her time to promote her movie, The Ugly Truth, which meant they had a rough first day back to work.?
?They had to catch up on the work that was missed while Katherine was doing the movie promotion. And the thanks they got was Katherine intentionally trying to embarrass them on national television,? a set insider told the Enquirer.
?To make her happy, the rest of the crew and cast had to work overtime - and they?re fighting mad that Katherine had the nerve to gripe about her long hours!?
?At least during breaks she can rest in her trailer. But some crew members work straight through. The cast and crew are taking it out on her by giving her the silent treatment.?
?Katherine used to be the set sweetheart, but now many of us think of her as the spoiled brat who thinks she?s too good to be on the show.?

While I have no doubt that Katherine is a piece of work (and then some), I really wonder why the Grey?s producers didn?t get rid of her when they had the chance. Wasn?t this upcoming season the time and place when they could of figured out a way to get her out of her contract? Last year, when Katherine was acting snotty about working on Grey?s, I theorized that the producers were trying to teach her a lesson by making her honor her contract and forcing her into crappy storylines. If that is what the producers were doing, I think the damage has been done. At some point it becomes less about teaching her a lesson and more about keeping your sanity by ditching this diva.

Taking their fiercely popular romantic comedy across the pond, Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler were spotted at the UK premiere of “The Ugly Truth.”
The “27 Dresses” actress and the “P.S. I Love You” stud both looked amazing as they arrived at the Vue West End Theatre in London, England to greet the mass of paparazzi and fans waiting for them.
Mr. Butler kept it classic in a dark suit with a white button-up shirt and a circa-1984 thin necktie while Katherine added some color to the scene in a sparkly green dress.
“The Ugly Truth” has been a massive hit everywhere else it’s been released, so the folks over in England are sure to love it as well.
