Gearing up for her new home, Katherine Heigl was spotted in the process of moving her belongings in Los Angeles yesterday (November 16).
The “Ugly Truth” actress wasn’t afraid to break a sweat as she helped her hired movers load up the moving truck, proving that she’s not a prima donna.
And after a strenuous afternoon of physical activity, Katherine was spotted rehydrating with a trip to a local caf for a refreshing beverage.
Heigl is on yet another hiatus from her “Grey’s Anatomy” gig, spending time with her adopted daughter through the end of the year.

Earlier this year she adopted a baby girl from South Korea, and Katherine Heigl has just announced she’ll be taking time off of her “Grey’s Anatomy” gig to spend time with her little one.
The “Ugly Truth” actress has been a mother to Naleigh since September when she and husband Josh Kelley brought the special needs baby home.
And an insider told press, “Sources confirm to me exclusively that she’s taking another leave of absence from Grey’s — but this time her reasons are personal, not professional. Heigl will be going on a belated maternity leave to spend some QT with new daughter Naleigh.”
As a result, Katherine’s character Izzie will be absent from a number of episodes of the hit ABC drama beginning in early 2010.

Enjoying a break from their parental duties, Katherine Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley, were spotted sharing a little adults-only time in Los Angeles on Tuesday (October 20).
Chatting with one another as they strolled along side-by-side, the “Grey’s Anatomy” actress and her musician hubby grabbed up some sushi before heading off to their nearby car.
Meanwhile, fans have been wondering if Mercy Wester might possibly replace Katherine’s Dr. Stevens character upon her break from “Grey’s” - though Shonda Rimes has confirmed that Miss Heigl will be back in action after filming “Life As We Know It”.
Of the questions, actress Sarah Drew tells, “That is also something I’m not allowed to say, sorry.”
Then asked if the new doctors will feel that Izzie is being replaced, Miss Drew says, “I think that may come out of it, but again, I have to be a little cagey with that.”

She’s always looking for ways to use her fame to benefit good causes, and Saturday night (October 17) Taylor Swift was in the house for the Justin Timberlake and Friends: A Special Evening Benefitting Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The “Should’ve Said No” songstress looked lovely as she took the stage at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to perform a hit-laden set.
As she was preparing to begin her portion of the concert, Timberlake assured the crowd that Miss Swift wouldn’t be rudely interrupted by any Kanye-style antics.
Justin announced, “Don’t worry, guys, I got security on the sides, so no one can come up and ruin her set.” Also on the docket was Timberlake himself, Jay Sean, Snoop Dogg, and Alicia Keys.

Still getting used to her newest role as a mother, Katherine Heigl was spotted out with her adorable daughter Naleigh in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon (October 18).
Joined by her husband Josh Kelley and her mom Nancy, the happy family strolled around the streets as they gave their newly adopted bundle of joy a look at the town.
As for work duties, Katherine is stepping away from her Izzie Stevens role on “Grey’s Anatomy” for five episode to film the new romantic comedy, “Life As We Know It”.
Due out in December 2010, “Life As We Know It” is about “two single adults becoming caregivers to an orphaned girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident.”

Katherine Heigl went on Ellen two weeks ago, in a segment that aired Friday September 11, to announce the fact that she was adopting a special needs baby from South Korea. Even though Katherine rolled her eyes when she said that the little girl’s birthday was right before hers, something she considered a sign at first but then realized she’d “basically forfeited my birthday for the rest of my life, which is not cool” most of us praised Katherine and thought that she was doing a wonderful thing by giving that little girl a home. Last Thursday, September 17, Heigl shared photos of her new daughter, Naleigh, 10 months, on the website for her animal foundation.
Then yesterday we heard that Heigl’s costar on Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo, had given birth to a girl, Stella Luna, last Tuesday September 15. Many of us wondered why it took Pompeo so long to make the announcement. We may have our answer in this piece from The NY Post, which wonders whether Heigl timed her adoption announcement and release of baby photos to specifically upstage the birth of Ellen’s new baby. Kaiser made the comment in our first story on Heigl’s adoption that she was “stealing Ellen Pompeo?s thunder” and it looks like she was right, whatever motivation Heigl had for it. The Post is technically incorrect when they say that Heigl made the official announcement on the same day that Pompeo gave birth. She made the adoption public on September 11 when her segment on Ellen aired and then released the photos on September 17. The timing is still suspicious.

Heigl made public her adoption of a 10-month-old Korean daughter, Naleigh, on Sept. 15 — which just happened to be the same day that Pompeo gave birth to a daughter of her own. “It was very curious timing for her to drop that,” a source who knows both women tells Page Six, adding, “It was an adopted kid — she could have chosen any other day to make it public. Why compete?” Pompeo didn’t confirm to the press the birth of her own little girl until Wednesday, which was the same day Heigl and her daughter appeared on the cover of People magazine. “It looks like they were trying to one-up one another,” laughs our spy. Reps for both Heigl and Pompeo declined to comment.

Heigl hosted Pompeo’s baby shower in late August, so surely she knew when her friend and co-star was due to give birth. On one hand, Heigl may be entirely innocent of trying to one-up her co-star with her adoption announcement. She told Ellen that she started the adoption process a year ago and it’s possible it all came through now and she was so excited to share the news she didn’t consider Pompeo at all. On the other hand, maybe Heigl did know that this would take the spotlight away from her friend and maybe she relished that. This woman is generally a self-righteous bitch who constantly complains about her charmed life so I wouldn’t put it past her to try to dominate the press at an important moment in her co-star’s life. After all, she earned the cover of People Magazine this week. If she stepped on some toes so be it. She pretty much does that whenever she opens her mouth anyway.

Actress Katherine Heigl, 30, and her husband of two years in December, Josh Kelley, 29, have adopted a special needs daughter from South Korea, little Naleigh, 10 months. Instead of selling the photos to a magazine, they released the photos themselves on the website for the animal foundation Katherine founded with her mother, the “Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.” It’s named after Katherine’s late older brother Jason, who died in a car accident at the age of 15 in 1986. Katherine’s charity runs a special ranch for dogs in which they rescue and re-train “medium to large dogs from high-kill shelters throughout Southern California.”
On the website for Katherine’s foundation, she explains that Naleigh is a nickname for the baby’s full name, Nancy Lee, which is a mix of her mother’s name, Nancy, and her adopted sister’s middle name, Margaret Leigh. Margaret is also from Korea and Katherine once said that adoption is something she’s “always planned.”

The Grey’s Anatomy actress and husband Josh Kelley have released the first photos of their daughter, a special-needs child they adopted from South Korea, on Heigl’s fundraising site.
“She was actually born the day before me in November, which I thought was really serendipitous and just kind of like a sign,” Heigl, 30, said when announcing the news of her adoption on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week.
In addition to four intimate photos of the family, the site explains that Naleigh is just a nickname for Nancy Leigh ? named after Heigl’s mother Nancy and Heigl’s sister Margaret Leigh.

Kaiser wondered in our last story on Naleigh - is it pronounced “Naw-Lee” or “Neigh-Lee”? Heigl said on Ellen that her name will be pronounced like “Neigh-Lee” and that she first saw photos of her six months ago and had not yet met Naleigh at that point. She said that normally the process of adopting from South Korea takes much longer, but that her daughter has special needs and that “because of that, it all moved so much faster. They wanted to get her to us as quickly as possible.”
Katherine Heigl is not my favorite person and I generally find her insufferable, it’s something I just can’t not mention when talking about her, but this is a very wonderful thing she’s doing and she’ll make all the difference in that little girl’s life. She also deserves a lot of credit for releasing the photos on the website for her charity. Best wishes to Katherine, Josh and little Naleigh. These photos are just adorable.

Katherine and Josh have named their daughter Nancy Leigh and she will go by the nickname Naleigh. She is named after Katherine?s mother Nancy and Katherine’s sister Margaret Leigh. Katherine, Josh and Naleigh are together and doing well.
Ugh, an Asian baby? Please. Those things are so 2005. Everybody who’s anybody knows that African babies are where it’s at nowadays. You’re better off sticking with a classic accessory like the Herms Birkin bag or a nice pair of Stuart Weitzman boots. Unlike the Asian urchin, those things never go out of style!

Showing off her newly adopted daughter for the first time, Katherine Heigl was seen leaving her hotel in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this week.
Carrying young Nayleigh Kelley in a baby carrier, the “Grey’s Anatomy” actress happened to be on the way to the set of her new movie “Life As We Know It”.
The following day, Miss Heigl ventured off to the set while leaving her young love behind, teaming up with Josh Duhamel to shoot a few scenes.
As for Katherine’s new movie, “Life As We Know It” is a comedy finding “two single adults becoming caregivers to an orphaned girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident.”

They’ve enjoyed almost two years of wedded bliss and now Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley are planning to adopt a baby.
According to a report, the “Grey’s Anatomy” babe and her rocker hubby will adopt a 10-month-old baby girl from Korea named Nayleigh.
A source close to the couple told press, “She’s thrilled. She and Josh are so happy.” Heigl is expected to formally announce the news on tomorrow’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
In a past interview, Katherine shared that she has “always planned” to adopt. “I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children. [It] doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”
