Making her way through the airport with her mom, Katherine Heigl caught a flight at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, CA today (September 10).
The "Grey's Anatomy" star smiled at photographers, wearing a green top with a beige sweater, skinny jeans, tan boots, and sunglasses while she carried a tan handbag.
Giving a hint to her travel plans, on Tuesday (September 4) the 33-year-old actress tweeted, "Excited to be visiting our nation's capital next week for Angels In Adoption! DC is also the city where I was born."
A self-proclaimed animal advocate, Katherine recently hosted the PBS program "Shelter Me" about shelter animals and their new homes. Snuggling up to her during the show was her adorable shepherd mix, Tamber.

Jet-setting with her adopted newborn, Katherine Heigl was spotted loading up her truck with her husband, Josh Kelly, before making her way to the LAX airport with Adalaide in Burbank, California on Friday (June 29).
The "One For The Money" actress held her daughter in her arms the entire time while dragging her luggage behind and looked relaxed for the flight wearing a long black scarf over a loose white tee-shirt and a pair of flats with her leggings.
Marking her second adoption, Katherine opened up about how different it is this time around with her second daughter, ?I had never had a newborn before. I didn?t really have that experience." admitting to PEOPLE during the 40th AFI Life Achievement Awards on Thursday, "So it?s all been new. I was prepared for the nights and having to get up and all of that. But the beauty of it is it?s really only a few months of your life that you?re walking around like a zombie because you haven?t slept.?
As for what, exactly is different the 33-year-old explained, ?I think it?s far more chaotic than I anticipated, and I think every parent probably says that and every parent tries to warn new parents about it. And we all go, ?Pish posh, it?s going to be fine. What?s one more?? ?
Katherine also dished about how her 3 1/2 year old adjusted to the new family member saying, ?Naleigh was super excited about having a new baby sister ? until she arrived. Then she was a little hesitant about whether or not she wanted her to stay, and then she became her little protector and is taking on the role of big sister very seriously.?

Trying to shield her little one from the always present shutterbugs, Katherine Heigl was spotted carrying in her new daughter Adalaide to the Beverly Hills Montage for lunch on Wednesday (May 23).
The "27 Dresses" beauty looked sexy on her afternoon out wearing skinny cobalt blue jeans, a button up white blouse and strappy black heels as she toted made her way in to grab a bite to eat with her mom.
In career news, the 33-year-old will be starring in a new comedy this fall titled "The Wedding." The Justin Zackham directed flick focuses on a long-divorced couple who fakes being married as their family unites for a wedding.
Also starring Amanda Seyfried, Robert De Niro, and Robin Williams the film is set to his theaters October 19.

Extending out the Mother?s day weekend, Katherine Heigl was spotted arriving home in Los Feliz, CA after a mother/daughter lunch date on Tuesday afternoon (May 15).
The ?27 Dresses? actress looked fabulous in floral as she rocked a knee length dress, electric blue heels and sunglasses the she topped off with her new white Valentino bag.
Speaking of Mother?s day, this was the former ?Grey?s Anatomy? starlet?s first holiday as a mother of two! As previously reported by GossipCenter, the blonde beauty and her hubby Josh Kelley recently adopted another little girl Adalaide Marie Hope who they named after Katherine?s great-grandmother.
In a recent interview with the U.K.?s Hello! Magazine, Miss Heigl expressed the joy the couple felt when they finally welcomed their new daughter home saying, ?She was so tiny and delicate, and that moment they put her in my arms I just felt an overwhelming sense of awe and wonder that this perfect little being was our daughter.?

Not afraid to show a little skin, a mid-driff bearing Katherine Heigl was spotted heading to the gym in Los Angeles, California this afternoon (May 11).
The "Knocked Up" star strutted in black yoga pants and an unzipped grey jacket that revealed her flat stomach and bright yellow sports bra.
Earlier this week Katherine hit up a local craft store with her mom where she bought a bunch of fabric and a sewing machine.

Getting into the crafting spirit, Katherine Heigl was spotted buying fabric and a sewing machine in Encino, CA on Wednesday afternoon (May 9).
Looking ready for spring while matching her green purse to her earrings and wedges, the ?Knocked Up? actress took some advice from her mother, Nancy, as the pair shopped around for bright printed fabrics.
The midweek outing comes as Miss Heigl was spotted out the previous day with her darling mother, as well, as the two enjoyed an afternoon lunch at Miceli?s.
The 33-year-old blonde actress also been busy taking care of her two children with her rocker husband, Josh Kelley.

Katherine Heigl stepped out in a gorgeous (by her standards) little white dress for a meeting yesterday in Los Angeles. While this outfit would probably not be notable on any number of other Hollywood actresses, I feel like we should applaud Katherine for making an effort to look stylish instead of falling back into her default fug mode both in candid shots and on the red carpet. This dress is really cute on her and flattering to the figure, right? Of course, that hair is still a total disaster (I think she should grow it out to shoulder length), but I’m just amazed that she didn’t screw up the dress with some fug booties. Because she loves her fug booties.
Maybe Katherine got a new stylist. She’s obviously been trying to work on her image lately, and looking good is one way to easily score some points. She’s still filming romcoms for now (her latest, The Wedding, is in post-production), but Katherine needs to watch it because she’s been stuck in some underperformers — One For the Money and New Year’s Eve — lately, and her days might be numbered. As shallow as it may seem, this dress is a good start to generating interest outside her ice-queen image.
Of course, Katherine went out to lunch with her mother after her meeting. Mom looks good too. They really seem inseperable, right? Maybe they’ll both end up signing on for Mother’s Day — which is looking to cast 11 more mother/daughter sets of actresses after signing on its first duo, Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Martino. Or maybe not.

Getting in some mother-daughter bonding time during her always crazy schedule, Katherine Heigl and her mom Nancy enjoyed an afternoon lunch date at Miceli's in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday (May 8).
The "Knocked Up" beauty channeled Marilyn Monroe as she sported short curly blonde locks while rocking an all white ensemble as she made her way out the back exit of the restaurant.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Heigl and her rocker hubby Josh Kelley have recently adopted their second child after previously adopting their first daughter Naleigh from South Korea, and the new addition is giving the 33-year-old actress motivation to kick a bad habit.
The former "Grey's Anatomy" starlet along with other celebs including, Dennis Quaid and Leonardo DiCaprio are updating their normal cigarette break to smoking electronic cigarettes.
