Kate Hudson is promoting Wish I Was Here (Zach Braff’s Kickstarter movie) in England. The movie is about how Braff’s character (a struggling actor trying to find his own identity) decides to homeschool his two children. Chaos ensues. I haven’t seen the movie, but it sounds like Kate plays the “thankless wife” role. I guess that’s better than her endless stream of romcoms?
Kate visited Alan Carr: Chatty Man. She decided, for whatever reason, to discuss her encounters with the supernatural. Kate says she and her mom, Goldie Hawn, possess the ability to see ghosts. They both see them all the time. Maybe Kate and Goldie found some good stuff to smoke? I don’t know. Kate says she’s witnessed “a ghost of a woman with no face” which was “very creepy.” The clips of this discussion have been yanked from YouTube, but here are some quotes:

“Why is being dead funny?” must come with a context. I’ve never seen a ghost before, but I doubt telling them the year would help. Is that supposed to make the ghost behave rationally and go away? Now, I’ve heard some weird stuff. When my dog died last year, I heard strange “doggie” footsteps that didn’t belong to my other dog. It was probably a case of overactive imagination. Everyone thought I was nuts. At least I didn’t tell the footsteps that it’s 2014. When I got a new dog, the strange noises stopped. Crazy, right?
Here’s Kate at the premiere of Wish I Was Here in London. She’s wearing an Emanuel Ungaro sheer tank with ginormous Ungaro trousers. Her shoes are Saint Laurent although they don’t matter. Those pants swallow everything. Ghost pants.

Kate Hudson covers the October issue of Women’s Health to promote Fabletics, basically. That isn’t shade because I dig the trend of actresses founding their own companies as their careers wind down. Very few women, especially the ones who specialize in romcoms, can sustain momentum as they approach their 40s. Kate’s only 35, but she’s got the right idea. Hollywood allows women to peak at an early age and leaves them hanging when the fresh crop of specimens enters. It isn’t fair, but it’s reality.
This interview starts off by saying Kate is the happiest person ever because of her “insane body, loving family, and killer career.” Killer career, not so much. Kate does have a great bod, and she and Matt Bellamy are making it work. I guess? There have been

Kate Hudson covers the September issue of Red UK. She’s not promoting any movies, so this must be a push for her Fabletics company. I get a kick out of the Fabletics ads — they appear to promise a tush like Kate’s if you wear her athletic clothing. Has anyone tried their clothes? They pick monthly outfits for you based upon your interests with no obligation to buy. The clothes look basic and functional and promise wicking capabilities. Hmm.
The journo in this interview seems shocked that Kate makes her confirmation call by herself. She also shows up without minders (a nanny for Bing doesn’t count). The topics of the conversation include her enduring engagement and how gossip magazines make women look bad. She also denies having an eating disorder to keep her figure:
Her 3-year engagement to Matt Bellamy: “I?m not in a rush. We are basically married. It is really about when are we going to take the time to plan a wedding.”
On dating/marrying musicians: “After Chris I didn?t think I?d ever date a musician again. That world is difficult. But it is what it is, right? I like people with musicality … I find it attractive.”
Tabloid interest in her love life: “It goes in waves. I think when you are single they just throw you in the fire. When you’re single, you are dating everybody. And you are like, ‘I never even met this person.’ You realise they want every female to be a wh-re. It?s true. These (gossip) magazines really, really want women to look bad. Why would you paint such a bad picture of women that young girls look up to? I will never understand that.”
No eating disorders here: “If there is one thing I will never have, it is an eating disorder. I won’t have girls — even if it is just one or two who care — thinking that. Because it?s a serious sickness, not something to plaster on the cover of a magazine. And I am the opposite. I want to be giving girls the message that, sometimes you do gain 70 pounds having a baby, and you can lose it if you want. The whole point is I want girls to love themselves. I want them to feel good about who they are.?

Kate is sweet and harmless. I think she’s genuinely aghast at the tabloid discussion of her love life. She’s correct about her dating encounters being sensationalized. Kate usually has long-term relationships, and it’s not like she was stumbling out of clubs and getting it on in public. Her Owen Wilson era was really heavy, but he’s a complicated guy. Their relationship was not a healthy one. I’m glad that she and Matt Bellamy are mostly drama free even though the tabs keep telling it differently.
On the eating disorder topic, Kate has already said that diets should be banned. She doesn’t have problems with food, and she’s responsible enough to realize girls are watching celebrities’ habits. I do think she excessively exercises at times. Kate worked out six hours per day (according to Star) to lose the baby weight. If that story’s true, does that qualify as a disorder?

Stepping out to promote her new film ?Wish I Was Here,? Kate Hudson dropped by ?Watch What Happens Live? along with costar/writer/director Zach Braff last night (July 30).
The ?How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days? dame was happy to answer questions from viewers, and one watcher phoned in to ask, "Who's been your best kisser from all your movie stars, or your costars? Excluding Zach, cause I'm sure Zach is a good kisser."
A clearly relieved Zach chimed in, "Thank you, darling! Thank you for saying, 'present company excluded.'"
Then Kate gave her thoughtful answer- "I would say my favorite one was [?The Four Feathers costar] Heath [Ledger]. That was pretty excellent. He was just so beautiful and sweet and gentle. I would say that, I look back at all of the? and that was really? he was lovely. That's a tough one to answer. An amazing [memory]."

Kate Hudson made an appearance on The View yesterday to promote that new Zach Braff crowdfunded movie she’s starring in called Wish I Was Here. (You can see the trailer here. Mandy Patinkin is also in it, and it looks cute.) You know who else was on The View yesterday? Royal a**hole Jason Biggs was co-hosting. It seemed fitting to me that he was sitting right next to Jenny McCarthy during this interview like they were best buds.
Anyway Jenny asked Kate if she considers herself an unconventional parent, since she and Zach play “unconventional” parents in this movie. Her answer was very diplomatic and open. I always like Kate when I see her in interviews, she’s so friendly and smiley and it doesn’t come off as fake. Her mom Goldie Hawn is like that too.
Jenny asks if she’s a conventional parent
What is conventional these days? We’ll start with I’ve got two children from two different fathers so that’s definitely unconventional. I’m actually a strict parent. I’m very strict. I’m strict when it comes to manners. I don’t like — I think kids get too much too fast. So Ryder of course wants a cell phone like every 10-year-old kid now. It starts around 10 and I’m just like ‘You can get a pager.’ He can get a pager when he’s 12.
Jason Biggs asks if she has plans to get married
Again, I think this goes back to growing up in an unconventional family… We’re happy, we’re married. We’ve got kids and a family and we’ve got to find our time together alone. We are in it. I think if we do get married it will be for the kids, really. For us, we’re just happy.
I know that’s not really necessarily a golden ticket but there is something beautiful about the security of marriage. And we’ll get there when we get there.

After Kate said that, Whoopi pointed out that “your mom and dad are perfect examples” of people who “didn’t do it the conventional way.” That’s right, Goldie and Kurt Russell have been together over 30 years but they’ve never married. Goldie has said that’s the way they prefer it and it obviously works for them.
Kate and Matt Bellamy have had an on-off relationship and I don’t think they should get married for the kids at all. It’s probably a better idea for them to just keep things the way they are for now. There’s no hurry to get married.
I love what Kate said about making sure her kids, son Ryder, 10, and Bingham, 3, have manners and aren’t spoiled. I think it’s important to teach kids to be polite and say “please” and “thank you.”
Say what you will about Kate, she always comes across as gracious in interviews and we’ve never heard diva rumors about her. She’ll tell you about her life too, it’s not like she’s dodging personal questions.

Showing off her svelte figure, Kate Hudson stopped by the Apple Store in New York City after her appearance on the ?Tonight Show? last evening (July 21).
The ?Bride Wars? babe rocked a black crop top with matching pants and red pumps and revealed her super toned tummy.
Earlier that morning, Kate stopped by the ?Today Show? to promote ?Wish I Was Here? and talked to host Savannah Guthrie about having a baby.
?I know when I was pregnant everybody had advice to give and after a while you?re like, ?I just want to have a baby. I don?t want to hear. I just want to see what happens. But, it depends. Advice is hang on, because you?re due soon so I mean [in] the first couple months, you?re tired? I think it?s a girl. I?d have to sit with you for a little bit, but it feels like a girl,? Hudson said.

Rocking a super-sexy black and white jumpsuit, Kate Hudson strutted through the streets of New York City and headed over to ?The Tonight Show? on Monday (July 21).
During her visit on the NBC talk show, the ?How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days? challenged Jimmy Fallon to a fun game of Box of Lies.
Kate?s acting sure seemed to fool the host even though she didn?t lie about the contents inside her box. Although the honesty did not make it any easier for the 35-year-old actress to keep a straight face as she described her contents.
Meanwhile, Kate sat down with Jimmy and opened up about her adorable sons Ryder and Bing. "Ryder's 10, he's a little man and he's really funny and he's really patient. Bing terrorizes him. Bing is like a force of nature.?
Fallon then asked Hudson for advice with daughter Winnie Rose?s first birthday party. The Oscar nominee admitted that she went crazy when it came to her first born?s birthday.
Kate explained, "For Ryder's first birthday, I got a petting zoo. There were bunnies and for some reason there was a llama. I thought, 'That's kind of large.'"
On the actual day rain sure did wreck her plans, "I brought all the animals into my kitchen. It was the greatest party ever. What you do for your first child! And then Bing, you're like, 'OK, let?s get the cake.' You go to the grocery store, you get some donuts, and a card."

These are photos of Kate Hudson at the NYC premiere of Wish I Was Here, which is Zach Braff’s Kickstarter-funded dramedy. You can see the trailer here. The film does feature Jim Parsons, which is always a plus. This is definitely a Zach Braff production with plenty of dreamy music, hazy lighting, and inspirational sayings floating through the trailer. There’s a Pink wig reminiscient of manic pixie dream girl greatness. Never mind that the man who coined the MPDG apologized a few days ago for his creation.
Kate is working her post-baby body at this premiere. I don’t usually enjoy scrutinizing women’s figures post birth (or at all), but Kate has already opened the topic for discussion. She’s co-founder of the Fabletics clothing company and works out six hours a day (versus dieting). Kate wants us to talk about her body, and no wonder! Her bod looks fantastic. This Michael Kors resort gown isn’t amazing, but we can see Kate’s midriff shining through. Eye on the prize. Here are some new excerpts from a Parade interview:
The scene where her character talks with a dying family member: “That was an intense day. You can?t help but think about that moment in your real life. You never want to look back and [feel you missed] that connection.”
She’s doing more indie films: “Yeah, the bigger films haven?t really spoken to me. But people like to see me in comedies, which I love, and I do want to make more comedies [for women] that aren?t dumbed down.”
Her musical children “It might be in our DNA. Bing [age 3] has been musical since he was born. And Ryder [her 10-year-old with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes] always finds the new bands; he goes, ‘Mom, check this out!’ and the next thing you know it?s a No. 1 hit. For me, it?s a passion; when you love to sing, it doesn?t matter what you sound like–it just makes you feel good! It?s the universal language, isn?t it?”

Kate has been focusing on indie movies for the past year. She already made her money in studio romcoms, and now she wants to prove herself as an actress. Remember when Kate was nominated for an Oscar after Almost Famous? She wants to achieve that greatness again, and I can’t blame her. But she cannot disown My Best Friend’s Girl, Fool’s Gold, and Bride Wars.
I’m including some photos of Ashley Greene and Joey King. Ashley is wearing a dull Alexander McQueen dress with no pizazz. Joey looks amazing in a retro-inspired Moods of Norway dress. She’s only 14, but her dress is both age appropriate and very glamorous.

Hudson looked equally stunning in a white bikini top and tie-dyed miniskirt, as she made her way to the beach with Bellamy. Overall, the duo appeared to be in great spirits on their vacation, boating, laughing, and enjoying their sunny getaway with a couple of friends.
