At this point, I?m not even sure what Gwyneth Paltrow is promoting. Iron Man 3? It?s All Good? Goop? Dunno. But one thing?s for sure: Gwyneth is going to keep talking until we are all nauseated. So, Gwyneth has a new interview in The Guardian. The Guardian is a great newspaper, but they do look down their intellectual noses at Dame Gwyneth and her Goopiness, just as they look down on all celebrities. Their celebrity profiles are usually full of bitchy little asides, but for this Goop piece, they just let Gwyneth?s words do all the work. The whole thing is written in the first person, like Gwyneth gooped out a spectacularly narcissistic essay about herself. You can read the whole thing here, and here are some highlights:
Goop on her father?s peasant roots: ?My father was working class and going out to eat was a big deal to him, always. He relished every bite and wanted me to weigh in with opinions. I remember his delight when, aged six, I ate my first oysters and I wish he was alive to feed my kids their first oysters. Because food is so associated with him, since he died I’ve had melancholic associations. It’s very hard for me to make buttermilk pancakes – they’re so specific to him and I get choked up every time. I get really sad he’s not with me when I discover a new restaurant or return somewhere he loved, like Chez L’Ami Louis in Paris.?
I think Goop hates her mother: ?Cooking was something my mother felt she had to do rather than loved. She especially hated making breakfast. Yet her eggy pudding, toast, breakfast thing was delicious. It was egg and bread as a sort of souffl. To be honest, I don’t know what it was.?
Goop loves blood sausage: ?I was an exchange student in Spain at 15, staying for a year with a family. My Spanish mother was a delightful cook. She owned a brick factory, a gas station and a store and she’d go run the businesses and come home at lunch and make paella for everyone, then head back to work. I got obsessed with her morcilla, which I found out was pig’s blood sausage but not until way too late.?
Goop on Leonardo DiCaprio: ?I hung out with Leonardo DiCaprio when I moved to New York. He was vegetarian and he’d talk about how dirty meat is and how bad factory farming is. I haven’t eaten red meat in 20 years and although Leo’s not totally responsible he definitely planted a seed. When I turned seriously macrobiotic, it coincided with my father having been diagnosed with cancer [in 1999]. I felt I could heal him by proxy.?
Wait, does Gwyneth call eggplants ?aubergines?? ?I didn’t really start cooking until I quit university to try to be an actress and was working as a hostess in a fish restaurant. At 19 I cooked my worst meal ever. I only had aubergines and a jar of tomato sauce, so I thought I’d make eggplant parmesan but didn’t have a cookbook. I made this hideous mess of bitter, burnt mush. But I served it. We were all starving, so we had no choice.?
She ate a lot during her second pregnancy: ?I ate the most when pregnant with my son. I couldn’t stop. I was starving, the whole time. During a good portion of my pregnancies all I wanted was grilled cheese sandwiches, Baskin Robbins Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream, yoghurt and lots of apples.?
Goop hates the way the English say ?pasta?: ?I’ve lived in England for 10 years and the accent is the most beautiful in the world, except for how you pronounce pasta as pass-ta instead of pah-sta. I’m sort of joking when I say this but I really don’t want my children speaking that way.?
Chris Martin loves her cooking: ?My husband prefers my food to any other ? it’s very sweet.?
Living on French fries and cigarettes during her gauche years: ?After we moved to NY, I attended Spence school and was allowed out during lunch and free periods and would head with the girls to Jackson Hole, a greasy burger joint which did great tuna melts. We mainly ate french fries there, with coffee and cigarettes – that’s what I subsisted on.?
Eating while working: ?Eating while filming a scene is the worst thing, because you have to keep eating the same thing all day long. You’ll notice that most films with food the actors aren’t actually eating, but I try consciously to eat to make it real, but most of the time I’ll spit it out to avoid feeling sick. I’m sure there must have been eating scenes, especially playing a 330lb character in Shallow Hal, but I don’t remember that film well to be honest.?
Goop talks about Oreos again: ?All I do is try to eat and cook real food, the way our ancestors would. It’s funny how people react, as if it’s revolutionary that I don’t want my children to eat Oreos, or the English equivalent, every day. I believe in real food, things being delicious, and butter, in minimally processed delicious foods and raw milk cheese and properly raised chicken and line-caught fish. But I’m a realist and I have kids and I love Oreos too, so honestly I’m not rigid at all.?
[From The Guardian]
I had to look up the ?Aubergines? thing. Apparently it?s somewhat common in England to refer to eggplants as aubergines. Do you think Gwyneth always refers to them as aubergines, or was that just something extra-special for The Guardian? You?ve gotta love Goop?s little British-isms, and she even manages to look down her nose at the way the English say ?pasta?. In Goop?s mind, even the English are too gauche for her. She would never want her children to speak like that. Her children?s accents will be ?moneyed?. Not English, not American., not Castilian. They will just have Moneyed Accents.

| Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph Lauren at Tiffany's Blue Book Ball: lovely or tragic' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

So this is where Gwyneth Paltrow chose to go instead of the UK premiere of Iron Man 3. These are photos from last night?s Tiffany?s Blue Book Ball in NYC. How is this more important (to Goop) than the premiere of her film in her hometown? I don?t get it. Gwyneth wore this rich-looking blue Ralph Lauren gown which? I don?t know. Would this design flatter ANY figure? Because it certainly does nothing for Gwyneth?s body. The fabric is gorgeous, though, and the color is pretty on her. Satin (or silk-satin, as I?m sure this is) makes even the most toned ladies look lumpy, though. Also: side-part! HUZZAH. She?s still flat-ironing for every event though.
We don?t have all of the photos of some of the high-profile ladies, but you can see pics of Kate Hudson and Jessica Biel, etc here. Here?s Michelle Williams in Katie Ermilio ? I like it!
Here?s Sarah Jessica Parker in ?vintage Vicky Tiel gold strapless gown styled with a Yeojin Bae black blazer and a Tiffany & Co. clutch and jewels.? I actually think SJP looks really good here. That blazer and dress is a good combo!
Doutzen Kroes in the same Dior gown that Natalie Portman wore to the 2012 Golden Globes.
I love Carolyn Murphy (right?), but she looks tragically underdressed for this event.
Carey Mulligan in Victoria Beckham. Love Carey, but hate this look on her. This is awful.

I kept waiting to see if we would get those photos of Gwyneth Paltrow in London yesterday, but we never did ? so you can see them here. It was just another stop on Goop and RDJ?s whirlwind Iron Man tour, and the only thing special about the photocall was that Gwyneth actually did a side-part!! Amazing. Anyway, I just wanted to cover some assorted Goop stories before tonight?s big Iron Man premiere. This is just some Goop housekeeping. Which brings me to this week?s Goop-letter, which is literally about housekeeping!! Goop writes:
When traveling with a family, a terrific and often more economical way to go is to rent a house or an apartment. We have found great sites that curate beautiful homes for short-term rent. Also in this week’s mag, ways to keep your home in shipshape and beautiful spring recipes among other tidbits.
[From Goop]
What follows is a hodge-podge of information, recipes and ?cleaning advice?. Gwyneth recommends renting a getaway home from Boutique Homes and One Fine Stay, because aren?t the peasants always on-the-go and looking for a luxury estate to rest their weary body. She also includes ?tips from a butler? (like Gwyneth cleans her own homes!) and she recommends some products that will help you with your spring cleaning. Goop deigns to recommends Mr. Cleans Magic Erasers! Shock! You can see the full Goop-letter here.
In other Gwyneth news, I?m sure many of you have heard that Gwyneth was named ?The Most Hated Celebrity? by a scientific poll conducted by? In Touch Weekly. The reason for Goop?s total domination? Smug, insufferable elitism, apparently. While I can?t stand Gwyneth, it?s gotten to the point where I kind of love to hate her. I enjoy yelling at her. I save my flat-out hate for people like Chris Brown.
Also, Gwyneth allegedly said something about her very real feud with her former best friend Madonna. When asked if she would ever call up Madonna to boast about her (Goop?s) ?superior? abs, Gwyneth responded: ?No, I don’t think I would. Why rub it in? Let’s face it. I’ll Polaroid my abs and text them to her.? Yikes.

| Gwyneth Paltrow in a floral Erdem pantsuit in Paris: terrible, dated or cute? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from the Paris photocall and premiere of Iron Man 3, with only Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. selling this thing at the moment. Where?s Guy Pearce? Where?s Ben Kingsley? Dunno. What I do know is that Gwyneth is giving me a headache. Goop wore this Erdem Fall 2013 look which I thought was a jumpsuit, but it?s a matching top and pants made to look like a jumpsuit. I?m sorry, but how is this look not a total failure? It?s hideous. The only good thing I can say about it is that the cut it good. Beyond that, terrible. And the center part? Goop, I can?t. As for RDJ? handsome. Funny. His association with Goop almost makes her tolerable. ALMOST.
Meanwhile, Gwyneth revealed to The Sun (how gauche!) how she met Chris Martin:
Gwyneth ? who has two children with the Coldplay frontman ? recalled how they were being romantically linked in 2002, before they had even met. Then Chris made a joke about it on-stage at a gig and it sent the speculation into overdrive.
Gwyneth said: ?It?s funny because people had started writing that we were going out and we had never even met. And then he was in Los Angeles doing a concert and an actress that he had a crush on was supposed to come to the concert. When she didn?t show up, he was so annoyed that he said, ?Oh, this is for my girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.??
?Then people were saying, ?What?s going on?? I was like, ?I?ve never met this guy, I?ve no idea!? And because of that, because people were writing about it, we ended up meeting at a concert and there you go. So, thank you!?
[From The Sun]
You know what part I get caught on? There was ?an actress that he had a crush on was supposed to come to the concert? and that actress didn?t show up. WHO WAS IT?!!? Now I?m obsessed. Who did Chris Martin want to date and Gwyneth became his consolation prize? Let?s see, this would have been back in 2002, so who was big then, and who would have conceivably gone to a Coldplay concert, and who was single around that time? God, I don?t even know where to start. Drew Barrymore? Kirsten Dunst? Kate Bosworth (cough)? Nicole Kidman?! ANGELINA?!

I know, even Gwyneth Paltrow?s defenders (!!) are kind of sick of her at this point. But we shall power through! It sort of reminds me of Anne Hathaway?s Oscar campaign. Annie got in everyone?s faces for about three months straight, and it was the overexposure (as well as her breathy-little-girl act) that did her in. The same will happen with Gwyneth! Not only has she spent the last three weeks doing endless press for her cookbook (which is a New York Times bestseller but a critical flop), but now the press tour for Iron Man 3 has begun. These are photos of Goop and Robert Downey Jr. in Germany for an Iron Man 3 photocall.
Let?s start with the good part ? RDJ looks lovely/funny and he?s dancing some kind jig and he?s wearing lederhosen. Are you supposed to wear lederhosen with hiking boots, a corduroy jacket, a button-down shirt and a jaunty neckerchief? The dancing makes up for it! And Robert kind of pulls it off. He?s got great gams.
As for Goop? ugh. I can?t find the designer ID on her dress, but it?s okay. It?s pretty and chic. Her hair is? ugh. I think she just got it trimmed? Is it just me or was her hair longer earlier this week? And that g?damn center part. It?s so awful. Goop, what are you still flat-ironing your hair for every appearance and insisting on that center part?! And by the way, I agreed with all of the complaints that Goop?s Bazaar pictorial looked like CGI. Compare these photos of Goop (where she? had her hair and makeup professionally done) to the Bazaar photos, and you can see that the Photoshop is really crazy in the Bazaar pictorial. Oh, and you can see this week?s Goop-letter here ? it?s a ?scrapbook? of Santa Barbara. Blah.
PS? Am I the only one rooting for Pepper Potts to eat it in this movie?

| Gwyneth Paltrow Doesn't Put Kids on Her Crazy Diet | Added 11 years ago | Source: The Blemish |

Shortly after the release of her cookbook where she says she gave up dairy, sugar and gluten to lose weight, people began speculating that she forced her kids and husband to go on the same diet.
That’s not entirely true. Paltrow explained onDr. Oz that her son doesn’t eat gluten or dairy because he has bad eczema.”My son has very bad eczema and he’s allergic to gluten and he’s allergic to cow dairy. I try, at home, to make everything gluten-free for him because the difference in his comfort is unbelievable when he’s sticking to what he’s meant to be eating.”
Besides that, they’re normal kids and even get to eat Oreos.”I don’t know where they get some of this stuff! They say I don’t give my kids carbs, and I’m feeding them seaweed… I have no idea. But they eat Oreos (cookies), too, and they’re normal kids.”
What do you have to say for yourselves now, you Negative Nancys? Sure, the Oreos are gluten and dairy free and the chocolate cookie is made from a soy-based equivalent and the whole thing just sort of flakes apart before it even reaches your mouth, but that’s neither here nor there.

Gwyneth Paltrow covers the May issue of Harper?s Bazaar. Yes, she?s wearing the same Balenciaga bustier thing that Kristen Stewart wore MONTHS ago to an On the Road screening. I hate to say it, but Goop wore it better, although Kristen gets points for wearing it first! I can?t believe Bazaar would put Gwyneth in something LAST SEASON and something that was already worn by someone famous, to an event that got a lot of press. The whole thing is just so terribly gauche. *sniff*
Anyway, you can read Gwyneth?s full Bazaar piece here. The interview took place in London (of course!) and the piece is really ass-kissy. They call her a princess and a ?honey-limbed chatelaine?. Gross. Some highlights from the magazine:
She?s ?over? being in London: Having survived her 10th London winter (she got through January by assigning it “international month,” and amusing Moses and his big sister, Apple, 9, with a visiting Italian chef, Japanese anime screenings, and hand-rolled-sushi lessons, no less), Paltrow admits that her dreams of relocating the family to their recently acquired residence in Brentwood, California, are becoming ever more urgent. “Just to have my kids be in the sun every day?picking avocados, going for a swim,” she says. “Even for two years or something, and come back when they go to senior school.”
Turning 40 years old: “I’m at quite a pivotal point: Do I want to go back more into films? Do I want another child? Do I want to move back to the States?” Her wide blue-gray eyes flash me a look of amused self-knowledge. “You can call me a lot of things, but you can’t call me complacent!”
Working with Robert Downey Jr.: “It’s very alive. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about robots or aliens, it doesn’t matter if it’s Shakespeare, if you’re working with someone of that quality, it’s very invigorating as an artist.?
Pepper Potts and Iron Man 3: “There’s a portion of the movie where something bad happens to me, and I lose clothes along the way, so essentially I’m wearing a bra and trousers.” Self-deprecating pause. “There are certain requirements, but luckily I have a good base because I work out often. I just had to not eat pasta and french fries the night before shooting?which I’m terrible at doing.”
Her skin: “I really used to be bad with products, but now I exfoliate every night and use a lot of organic oils on my face,” she confides. (She’s a Sonya Dakar fan.) “And I have a great dermatologist in L.A. who gave me this amazing laser the last time I was there. It’s called Thermage. It’s not invasive. I went out to dinner right afterward and I didn’t look crazy, but it’s quite painful. It feels like someone’s smacking your face with a rubber band that has an electric shock in it. But I would do it again, because I feel like it took five years off my face.”
Contradictions: As it happens, Paltrow and I share a London facialist (holistic queen Vaishaly Patel), which leads to talk of the lifestyle contradictions presented by the high-tech temptations of the beauty business. “I think it’s a mix,” she says honestly. “You know, I use organic products, but I get lasers. It’s what makes life interesting, finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu.
Botox & Plastic surgery: “I’ve probably tried everything,” she continues. “I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!”
Aging: “I don’t hold on to fear as much as I used to, because I’ve learned a lot about genuinely not caring what strangers think about me,” she says. “It’s very liberating. It’s very empowering, and I’ve learned a lot of that from Jay?Shawn Carter?Z, because his approach to life is very internal. It’s a very good lesson to learn.”
Random stuff? Her favorite TV shows: “New Girl and Homeland.” Guilty pleasure: “My one light American Spirit that I smoke once a week, on Saturday night.” Her regret: “Not finding my voice earlier in life.” On 10 years with Coldplay rocker Chris Martin: “We are growing into very similar people. It’s cool, it’s good. It’s not always easy, though!”
Giving advice to girlfriends: “I think that women, especially women in my job, come to me because they know I’m very loving and nonjudgmental and I’m not competitive, and I’ve been through a lot. And so they come round to talk about their stuff. I’m a bit of a mother hen. Everyone wants a home-cooked meal and to come over and talk about where they are in their life,” she says. “I love it, and I feel that I have the most incredible women friends, some who are super famous, some who I’ve had since I was four years old. I love it that people will call me up and say, ‘What do you think about this?,’ because my dad was very much that person for everyone in his life. So I feel like I’m carrying on my dad’s spirit in that way.”
Having another kid: “There are some films that I want to do, and I love my business and I want to expand that a lot. We’ll sort of see. I mean, if I want to have another kid, I gotta kind of get on it.” We discuss the domestic cocoon of new motherhood?and weighing the option of climbing back into the maternal nest. “But then you see a baby and you smell a baby!” she says, almost squealing. “And you’re like, ‘Yep, I do.’ I don’t know. It’s a very big decision, so we’ll see. Anyway, I’m not doing it this month!?
[From Harper?s Bazaar]
I?m surprised that Gwyneth only name-dropped Uncle Jay ? Shawn Carter ? Z in this interview and not Beyonce! I?ll admit that I laughed out loud at several points in the interview ? like when she was talking about her kids ?picking avocados?. My association with avocado-picking is that it relies heavily on undocumented workers working for less than minimum wage, and so I conjured up an image of Gwyneth literally taking her children to an avocado field to play with peasant day-laborers. As for the Botox and skincare talk? yeah, she did look crazy when she was Botoxing. I?m glad she?s admitting that.

Here are some photos of Gwyneth Paltrow yesterday in NYC, in and around the Good Morning America studio, where she filmed a segment. What?s great about the interview ? and props to GMA ? is that it?s not just ?OMG, Gwyneth looks amazing and she can cook, how charming?. The interviewer asks Goop some direct questions about whether or not Gwyneth is starving her kids, whether Gwyneth has eliminated everything from her diet permanently and whether it really costs $300 a day to eat like Goop. She also had some harsh words for book critics who have almost universally thrown shade at Lady Goop. Here?s the interview:

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has taken aim at critics slamming her new cookbook for her alleged costly recipes, insisting sensational bloggers are spreading rumors just to get attention.
The Oscar winner?s latest culinary guide, ?It?s All Good,? which was released earlier this month, has been panned by reviewers for offering menu ideas that include pricey ingredients such as duck eggs and Manuka honey.
One critic at Yahoo.com estimated it would cost around $300 a day to feed a family based on a selection of Paltrow?s recipes, but on Wednesday Paltrow defended her book during an appearance on ?Good Morning America,? where she demonstrated how to cook up some of her favorite dishes.
She said, ?That is insane. I mean this meal here is like $2 a person so I don?t know where they?re getting (that from). I say I like honey, like raw honey, and a jar is $25, but it lasts for two years. So they were just being sensationalist. There is a lot of inches of column that people need to fill and a lot of times they just try to get attention and say things that aren?t true, unfortunately.?
And the mom-of-two insists people can always find alternatives to keep the cost down: ?For example, I like to use organic chicken, but it?s more expensive ? you don?t have to.?
[From SF Gate]
If you actually watch the video (and I would suggest watching the first 2 minutes at least), you can see Gwyneth physically WINCE when she mentions how the peasants can eat non-organic food and when she?s defending her cookbook against the tide of negative press. It?s pretty funny. This is what you get, Gwyneth, when you climb off your pedestal to interact with the peasantry. Nothing but shade, girl. She was expecting thanks from a grateful nation, and all she got was shade.
What I find weird is that most of the shade thrown at Gwyneth is because people are simply reacting to the crazy sh-t she says. Like, she talks about not feeding her kids carbs at all and just deciding one day (on the advice of the one nutritionist who told her what she wanted to hear) that she and her kids needed to be on this crazy ?elimination diet?. And then when people reacted with horror, her new story is that we overreacted and we?re just making things up, and of course her children eat Oreos and such. Gwyneth went on Dr. Oz yesterday too and she flat-out changed her story completely! And so it?s our fault when we report on what she originally said?
Oh, and here are some images from Gwyneth?s new Max Factor campaign. CENTER PART. Ugh.

After spending some time on the set of "Good Morning America," Gwyneth Paltrow headed outside to enjoy the rest of the beautiful sunny day in New York City on Wednesday (April 10).
The "Shakespeare in Love" beauty rocked a black-and-white dress accompanied with black heels as she made her way past the awaiting shutterbugs.
While having some fun on the famous morning show, Miss Paltrow dished to everyone about meeting Demi Lovato, and showed off her Twitter snapshot of the pair at the airport on Monday (April 8).
"She was in the airport lounge and I have seen 'Contagion' like ten times so I was like 'Oh God!'" Demi exclaimed about her new friend.
"And, I sneezed on her as I walked by," Gwyneth said jokingly.
"And I dropped dead, I dropped dead," Demi laughed.
Gwyneth also revealed that her daughter is one of Demi's biggest fans. "It was very exciting because my daughter actually introduced me to Demi's music and now we're all big fans in our house."
