I don’t know if you realize this but celebrities sacrifice a lot for us. Like their glorious 70?s style bush that they were cultivating with such care and precision.
Case in point. Gwyneth Paltrow told Ellen that the dress she wore to the LA premiere of Iron Man 3 didn’t afford her the ability to wear panties. So she didn’t and ended up having to shave her pubes.
Gwyneth: I kind of had a disaster. I was doing a show and I changed there and I went and I couldn’t wear underwear. I don’t think I can tell this story on TV!
Ellen: Well, now you’ve told it.
Gwyneth: Well, let’s just say everyone went scrambling for a razor and so I went from being the most beautiful to the most humiliated in one day.
Ellen: I really have some questions now. You certainly don’t take care of yourself. I mean, it was just the side of your leg. What is going on with you?
Gwyneth: I work a 70s vibe, you know? (thanks Dlisted for the transcript)
Gwyneth should have just styled her bush with a hipster look. You know, turn it into a nice handlebar mustache. Trust me, this is going to be the new thing. It’s retro, sophisticated and classy. So much so that Chris Martin will have to go down on her wearing a monocle.
Paltrow also played a “guess the rapper” game with Ellen.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I have this theory that Gwyneth Paltrow would actually be really cool to hang out with if she wasn’t trapped in her little bubble of celebrity where buying a $300 bottle of lotion is a good way to save money.

Yesterday?s post about Gwyneth Paltrow?s stunningly tacky dress at the LA premiere of Iron Man 3 was one of our biggest posts of the day. It seems that everybody wants to talk about Goop these days, probably because Gwyneth will NOT SHUT UP and she keeps doing, like, Kim Kardashian-level stunts. I guess I have to give Gwyneth some credit because I didn?t think she still had this kind of famewhoring left in her. I thought she was in London, not eating and refusing to discuss her personal life. Well, that?s over. And she can never go back. I hope she realizes that.
So, in addition to talking about her sad miscarriage, the state of her marriage (which sounds awful), her contradictory and controversial diet talk and flat-out showing us her Goop Butt two nights ago, Gwyneth would like to expose even more. Yes, Gwyneth is now going to talk about whether or not she?s shaved. Gwyneth sat down with Ellen DeGeneres AND Jay Leno yesterday and the talk turned to shaving and showing off her mons.
Gwyneth Paltrow went commando when she walked the red carpet in an Antonio Berardi dress at the Iron Man 3 premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood Apr. 24. According to the Oscar winner, the risque gown — which featured sheer panels on the side — was a last-minute decision.
“I kind of had a disaster. I was doing a show and I changed there and I went I couldn’t wear underwear. I don’t think I can tell this story on TV,” the 40-year-old said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Apr. 26. “Well, let’s just say everyone went scrambling for a razor.”
Paltrow said she was “humiliated” by the bad press the garment generated. A curious DeGeneres then asked, “It was just the side of your leg. . .What is going on with you?”
“I work a ’70s vibe,” Paltrow said coyly. “You know what I mean?”
The Goop goddess was also asked about her daring look during an Apr. 25 appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. “There was no underwear on in that dress. Yeah, how does that. . .I don’t know,” the flustered mother of two said. “I just sort of put it on and it stayed in place, thank goodness.”
[From Us Weekly]
If the issue ever comes to ?everyone went scrambling for a razor,? please, just don?t wear the dress!!! For the love of God. If you have to shave your mons before you wear a certain dress, you shouldn?t be wearing that dress. There really are no exceptions to that rule. That is a rule for every woman, for every occasion. Although I do kind of like (is that the word?) that Gwyneth is a ?70s girl. I?m assuming that means a full ?70s style bush. I didn?t know Goop had it in her! Brazilian waxes are for peasants, darling.

Fresh off being named the Most Hated Celebrity by Star and the Most Beautiful by PEOPLE, Gwyneth Paltrow showed up at the premiere of Iron Man 3 in LA. Look at her. If you asked who she was wearing, she’d say something like, “Oh, not a big name really. It’s a simple dress. Bought it on clearance for $2200.”

Here is Gwyneth Paltrow posing for People magazine?s ?World?s Most Beautiful Woman? for 2013. She admits that she owes some of her world-renowned good looks to her workout routine.
“It makes me look younger and feel strong,” Gwyneth, who does the Tracy Anderson Method five days a week, says.
She wouldn?t rate as the most beautiful woman in the Mall on any given weekday afternoon…

This was my thought process as I began to look through these photos of Gwyneth Paltrow at last night?s LA premiere of Iron Man 3? ?? Black & white?? OK, Goop. Colors are for peasants? Oh, her dress is full-length. I guess she wanted everyone to know she?s THE STAR by wearing a proper gown… Yay, sleeves!?.this isn?t so ba-OMG GOOP BUTT.?
Right? It sort of hits you all of a sudden that Gwyneth is literally showing us her Goop Butt. The dress is Antonio Berardi Fall 2013. I?m guessing the designer would have lined the thing, but Gwyneth was all ?I?ll wear this straight off the runway and show everyone my Goop Butt and Goop Biscuit.? I hope the dress has some built-in panties (??) because if it doesn?t, Gwyneth was flashing her bits and pieces all night.
So, overall, what do you think of the dress? Even though I?m looking at Goop Butt, I kind of don?t hate it. This is one of Gwyneth?s strengths as a celebrity: she dares to wear interesting clothes and she?s not afraid of wearing controversial gowns. Sometimes it works out for her, sometimes it doesn?t, but I like her style boldness. My biggest problem with this whole ensemble isn?t the Goop Butt, it?s the terrible shoes!!! Those things look cheap and stripper-tastic. And of course, I?m sick of her flat-ironing and center-part. This whole look feels very ?90s, right?
PS? Two different earrings!

As I said in yesterday?s post, Gwyneth Paltrow had to give up the goods in exchange for People Magazine naming her Most Beautiful Person (Non-Peasant Category). While People?s cover story excerpts yesterday were rather innocuous ? stuff about her daughter and body image ? I?m seeing some additional excerpts that have me raising my peasant brow and clutching my peasant artificial pearls (how gauche!). As it turns out, Lady Goop gave up EVERYTHING to People Magazine. She talked about her marriage and her miscarriage and wow? I can?t believe how open she is these days. Goop really doesn?t give a crap about her privacy at this point. Not when she?s selling her lifestyle!
She is married to a rock star, has a successful acting career and has just been named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman by People Magazine. But life doesn’t always run smoothly for Gwyneth Paltrow. In a new interview with People, the 40-year-old actress discusses the impact of suffering a miscarriage and having to work hard at her marriage to Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
‘It was awful,’ she says, when asked about the miscarriage. ‘It happened really late, and I wasn’t expecting it at all. For a long time I just couldn’t understand that it had happened and why. I was like “But I can’t not be pregnant. I’m already past the first trimester, and I have three car seats in my head.” To this day I feel like I’m missing that kid. But it wasn’t meant to be and you have to trust the universe.’
The star said the miscarriage made her grateful for the positive things in her life, especially her two children – eight-year-old Apple and Moses, seven.
‘More than anything I just realised “Oh my God, I’m so lucky to have two healthy kids,”‘ she said.
The star revealed last month that she ‘nearly died’ when she lost her baby, but hasn’t entirely ruled out adding to her brood.
‘We all think “Urgh, I don;t want to go back to diapers,”‘ she admitted. ‘But my best friend’s mom once said “don’t do your planning around the pain in the a** of infancy, because it’s so finite. Plan it around how many people you want at Thanksgiving.” So then I think, maybe. But I don’t know.’
Gwyneth revealed that taking her responsibilities as a wife and mother ‘seriously’ is one of the keys to making her nine-year marriage work.
She added: ‘And I also totally accept him and what he does, so I’m not the type of wife who is like “Where are you?” I never make him feel hemmed in or like he’s in trouble. And on a personal level as friends, we really get along. We really laugh, and we’re super into our kids. There’s a good foundation.’
However Gwyneth admits that the famous couple, who are rarely pictured together, have had their fair share of ups and downs.
‘We’ve gone through some terrible times where it’s been really really hard, but I’ve sort of come through those times with a much deeper understanding of myself. And we’re still married. We worked through it. I think it’s easier to get divorced. But I think the more you keep at it, the more you end up seeing the value in it. But man, sometimes it is not easy.’
[From The Mail]
The miscarriage stuff is still really sad ? she discussed it a month ago in a lengthy interview with the Mail on Sunday too. Do you mind if I skip over that part? Because I really have nothing to add besides ?Poor Goop.?
What I really want to discuss is all of the Chris Martin stuff. There?s so much to parse! ?I also totally accept him and what he does? I never make him feel hemmed in or like he’s in trouble.? What does that mean? Does that mean that Chris gets to do whatever (whoever) he wants and Gwyneth is okay with it because she?s The Cool Wife Who Doesn?t Ask Questions? Is there some kind of rule, like ?You can do whatever you want on the road, but you always have to come home to me?? As for how ?really really hard? her marriage is? sure. I think we?ve seen them go through some bad times. I also think there?s a healthy dollop of Goop Sanctimony in this statement: ?We worked through it. I think it’s easier to get divorced.? ONLY PEASANTS GET DIVORCED.

Star Magazine named Gwyneth Paltrow their Most Hated Celebrity in Hollywood last week. Star didn’t release their judging criteria so we’re all left to speculate what exactly made her worse than Lindsay Lohan. The $100 dishes she recommends? The $2,000 outfits she suggests to non-celebrities? The celebrity bubble she lives in? No one really knows.
On the flip side, PEOPLE just named Gwyneth Paltrow 2013?s Most Beautiful Woman. “She may be hated, but damn, is she pretty,” is what we’re saying I guess. Naturally, Paltrow tries to downplay her looks saying at home, she’s just like us. Except, richer and better and nothing like us.
“Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup. That’s what they’re used to,” she says. As for her husband, Chris Martin, “He’ll make a joke about it. If I’ve gotten fully dressed up, he’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow! You’re Gwyneth Paltrow!’ Because he’s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair.”
That’s the good and bad of marrying a celebrity. You’re so used to seeing them dressed up that when you see them in bed the next morning, you can’t help but let out an “uggggh.” I suggest keeping some makeup on the nightstand and putting it on her before she wakes up. Much like I do with my mannequins while they sleep.

This is just a post for a hodge-podge of Gwyneth Paltrow stuff. First up, Gwyneth has introduced yet another item on her Goop site. Gwyneth has been adding special Goop items left right and center these days, but this particular item was not for the wealthy peasant wanting a $500 sweater. This particular item was a reasonably priced $45 bikini by Melissa Odabash. Except that the bikini is for little girls, and now there are complaints. Here?s one of the images used:
You can see the item on Goop here. I mean? it?s not surprising to me that some people are making bikinis for children, and it?s not surprising to me that some mothers are buying their little girls bikinis. There?s nothing technically wrong with the bikini being offered ? it?s ruffled and cute and it seems to offer enough appropriate coverage. But it?s still sort of creepy to me, and I can see why Goop?s critics are throwing a hissy about it.
Gwyneth was also on Graham Norton?s show over the weekend ? I think she looks really good here! Side-part! Her voice is so nasal and annoying, of course, but she seemed subdued and decent. Mo Farah is adorable too! The other guy is Lee Mack, a British comedian. In the first video, skip ahead to the 14 minute mark and you?ll see Gwyneth grab Lee Mack?s nads. It?s pretty awesome.

Gwyneth Paltrow was a guest on theGraham Norton show where Lee Mack was also a guest. Mack started talking about how his doctor told him he had to stop running because his legs were uneven. He asked Gwyneth to feel his knees to show her he wasn’t lying. Then he told Gwyneth Paltrow his balls were uneven too. Obviously Gwyneth also had to grab those to see for herself. Clip starts at 14:15.

At this point, I?m not even sure what Gwyneth Paltrow is promoting. Iron Man 3? It?s All Good? Goop? Dunno. But one thing?s for sure: Gwyneth is going to keep talking until we are all nauseated. So, Gwyneth has a new interview in The Guardian. The Guardian is a great newspaper, but they do look down their intellectual noses at Dame Gwyneth and her Goopiness, just as they look down on all celebrities. Their celebrity profiles are usually full of bitchy little asides, but for this Goop piece, they just let Gwyneth?s words do all the work. The whole thing is written in the first person, like Gwyneth gooped out a spectacularly narcissistic essay about herself. You can read the whole thing here, and here are some highlights:
Goop on her father?s peasant roots: ?My father was working class and going out to eat was a big deal to him, always. He relished every bite and wanted me to weigh in with opinions. I remember his delight when, aged six, I ate my first oysters and I wish he was alive to feed my kids their first oysters. Because food is so associated with him, since he died I’ve had melancholic associations. It’s very hard for me to make buttermilk pancakes – they’re so specific to him and I get choked up every time. I get really sad he’s not with me when I discover a new restaurant or return somewhere he loved, like Chez L’Ami Louis in Paris.?
I think Goop hates her mother: ?Cooking was something my mother felt she had to do rather than loved. She especially hated making breakfast. Yet her eggy pudding, toast, breakfast thing was delicious. It was egg and bread as a sort of souffl. To be honest, I don’t know what it was.?
Goop loves blood sausage: ?I was an exchange student in Spain at 15, staying for a year with a family. My Spanish mother was a delightful cook. She owned a brick factory, a gas station and a store and she’d go run the businesses and come home at lunch and make paella for everyone, then head back to work. I got obsessed with her morcilla, which I found out was pig’s blood sausage but not until way too late.?
Goop on Leonardo DiCaprio: ?I hung out with Leonardo DiCaprio when I moved to New York. He was vegetarian and he’d talk about how dirty meat is and how bad factory farming is. I haven’t eaten red meat in 20 years and although Leo’s not totally responsible he definitely planted a seed. When I turned seriously macrobiotic, it coincided with my father having been diagnosed with cancer [in 1999]. I felt I could heal him by proxy.?
Wait, does Gwyneth call eggplants ?aubergines?? ?I didn’t really start cooking until I quit university to try to be an actress and was working as a hostess in a fish restaurant. At 19 I cooked my worst meal ever. I only had aubergines and a jar of tomato sauce, so I thought I’d make eggplant parmesan but didn’t have a cookbook. I made this hideous mess of bitter, burnt mush. But I served it. We were all starving, so we had no choice.?
She ate a lot during her second pregnancy: ?I ate the most when pregnant with my son. I couldn’t stop. I was starving, the whole time. During a good portion of my pregnancies all I wanted was grilled cheese sandwiches, Baskin Robbins Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream, yoghurt and lots of apples.?
Goop hates the way the English say ?pasta?: ?I’ve lived in England for 10 years and the accent is the most beautiful in the world, except for how you pronounce pasta as pass-ta instead of pah-sta. I’m sort of joking when I say this but I really don’t want my children speaking that way.?
Chris Martin loves her cooking: ?My husband prefers my food to any other ? it’s very sweet.?
Living on French fries and cigarettes during her gauche years: ?After we moved to NY, I attended Spence school and was allowed out during lunch and free periods and would head with the girls to Jackson Hole, a greasy burger joint which did great tuna melts. We mainly ate french fries there, with coffee and cigarettes – that’s what I subsisted on.?
Eating while working: ?Eating while filming a scene is the worst thing, because you have to keep eating the same thing all day long. You’ll notice that most films with food the actors aren’t actually eating, but I try consciously to eat to make it real, but most of the time I’ll spit it out to avoid feeling sick. I’m sure there must have been eating scenes, especially playing a 330lb character in Shallow Hal, but I don’t remember that film well to be honest.?
Goop talks about Oreos again: ?All I do is try to eat and cook real food, the way our ancestors would. It’s funny how people react, as if it’s revolutionary that I don’t want my children to eat Oreos, or the English equivalent, every day. I believe in real food, things being delicious, and butter, in minimally processed delicious foods and raw milk cheese and properly raised chicken and line-caught fish. But I’m a realist and I have kids and I love Oreos too, so honestly I’m not rigid at all.?
[From The Guardian]
I had to look up the ?Aubergines? thing. Apparently it?s somewhat common in England to refer to eggplants as aubergines. Do you think Gwyneth always refers to them as aubergines, or was that just something extra-special for The Guardian? You?ve gotta love Goop?s little British-isms, and she even manages to look down her nose at the way the English say ?pasta?. In Goop?s mind, even the English are too gauche for her. She would never want her children to speak like that. Her children?s accents will be ?moneyed?. Not English, not American., not Castilian. They will just have Moneyed Accents.
