Making the most of her evening, Claire Danes was spotted at the ?An Evening with Homeland? event in Hollywood last night (March 21).
The ?My So-Called Life? starlet donned a sleeveless printed ensemble and hit the red carpet at the Television Academy to celebrate her new show.
In order to prepare for ?Homeland,? Claire got to spend some time with real CIA agents, an experience she will never forget.
Danes explained, ''They were very forthcoming about their experiences. I was elated after that day. It was a thrill to peek inside that culture.''

| Claire Danes: 31st Annual Muse Awards Marvelous | Added 13 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

Stepping out for an all-important event, Claire Danes attended the New York Women In Film and Television 31st Annual Muse Awards on Wednesday (December 7).
The ?Homeland? actress looked lovely in a black and red skirt paired with a red and white sleeveless top and peep-toe heels as she posed for pictures at the New York Hilton Hotel.
Speaking of ?Homeland,? Danes recently opened up about the popular Showtime program and how she could potentially be a show spoiler, but since the directors are not really sure what?s going to happen until its time, she?s off the hook.
?Thanksgiving was funny, because my family was just trying to extract information from me. And I can?t give away anything. It?s fun and frustrating to sit on the secrets. Everybody thinks Saul is guilty now. That seems to be a common insight, but, uh, no. He's not, to shatter everybody's dreams there. But yeah, it's fun that people are are engaged with it. Hugh [Dancy, Danes?s husband] started watching the show, but he wouldn?t even allow me to talk about what I was doing at work that day because he didn?t want to have the story be spoiled. I was like, ?But I need to share my experiences with you!? The nice thing is that the writers don?t really know either, so we?re safe; we can?t spoil it even if we wanted to,? Claire explained.

| Claire Danes in metallic blue Oscar de la Renta: 'edgy' or too severe' | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Claire Danes attended the Emmys last night as a presenter (she won last year in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie category for her role in Temple Grandin), and I’ve got mixed feelings about her look for the evening. She wore a metallic blue Oscar De La Renta column dress, which I believe was intended to be edgier than all of the monochrome and minimalistic dresses that she has favored in the past. I like that she’s mixing it up a bit, and I love the deep blues of the dress itself. It also looks a lot better against the HBO backdrop than against the standard-issue Emmy red-carpet wall.
What gives me pause about Claire is her hair and makeup. Kaiser thinks the hair should be a few shades darker, and I agree that she’s just far too blonde and highlighted at this point, but she’s been that way for quite awhile. Claire’s stuck in a bit of a beauty rut, and I’d like to see her try out a cool shade of brunette or, at the very least, go for some rich lowlights instead of defaulting to the Hollywood standard blonde. In terms of makeup, the lipstick is fine, but the eyeliner is applied in far too gratuitous a manner. Again, I think Claire is going for “edgy” here, so that excuses some of this mess.
Sadly, her adorable husband Hugh Dancy was nowhere to be seem. Maybe he had a TIFF hangover and couldn’t handle the sparkle factor of this dress.

| Claire Danes on plastic surgery: 'I don't think anyone should judge anyone' | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ve been having a love affair with Claire Danes lately. I?d always been rather ?meh? on her, even back when she was first popular, with My So-Called Life and Romeo + Juliet. I just thought she was pretty and pretty overrated, nothing special. Then I saw Temple Grandin? I had no idea how talented Claire was and is. That movie is so good, and Claire?s performance is so amazing, I just kind of love her now. Considering my love, I?m giving her a pass on what she says in a new interview with Stylist. Claire talks about plastic surgery and how we shouldn?t ?judge? women for mangling their faces.
Claire on dyeing her hair: “I’ve been coloring it since I was 13, when I did ‘My So Called Life,’ I have no idea what my real color is! I look at my brother and say, ‘Oh, that’s what I would look like.’ I identify my current blonde as my ‘base color,’ so I return to it when I literally have to wash a character out of my hair. I’m pretty passive about this stuff, so I trust [my colorist friend Steven Amendola]. If he decides to go lighter because it’s spring, I just say, ‘uh huh.’”
Claire on plastic surgery: “I’m really fortunate in that I’m still quite young, and can get away with a lot, and my body is very forgiving. We’ll see how things progress. I think it’s great that women have so much choice now, and choice in products that are backed by science. As long as people are aware of potential risks, and they’re working closely with a doctor, I say go for it. These are real intimate personal decisions, and I don’t think anyone should judge anyone.?
On her new gig on a TV show called Homeland: “It’s a political psychological thriller based on a show that’s very popular in Israel right now. I play a CIA officer. She’s very bright and daring, and takes a lot of risks that get her into trouble? I got to go to the real CIA headquarters at Langley [Virginia], and it was fun! There really are spies out there, doing very spy-y things.”
[From Stylist]
Now, I?ve long maintained that what really bothers me about celebrities and plastic surgery is when someone lies about their work when their work is really, really obvious. See: Kim Kardashian and Nicole Kidman. As I get older, though, I?m finding myself less tolerant of this ?whatever you need to make yourself feel better? attitude. I?m committed to aging naturally. That?s my choice and I?m sticking to it, not because I?m so much better than women who choose to work on their faces, but because I see women - celebrities - every day who mangle their natural good looks with stupid plastic surgery. Working here has completely scared me off of even considering it - I don?t want to be a hideous cat-faced monstrosity.
But yeah, every woman had the right to make her own choices about aging and plastic surgery. Just as I have the right to say you looked better before you did all that junk.

| Globes fashion: Claire Danes & Emma Stone go for Calvin Klein sorbets | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Emma Stone and Claire Danes were two of the better-dressed stars at last night?s Golden Globes, and both opted for strikingly similar Calvin Klein gowns. That?s not the only comparison - both wore these sorbet-colors, both are now blonde after spending a lot of time as redheads and brunettes, and both are very slender, petite little things. Also, there?s some kind of comparison to be made about both of them seeming older than they really are - Emma Stone was one of the youngest nominees last night for Easy A at 22, and she seems wonderfully precocious and professional. That used to be Claire Danes, didn?t it?
Anyway, I preferred Emma Stone?s dress to Claire?s, but I liked both women a lot. I just think Emma?s got balls to not only wear such a figure-hugging gown in this off-beat color when most young women likely would have chosen basic black. I love the little cap-sleeves too - such a great choice for someone young. I?m so glad Emma didn?t go for some traditional strapless, tits-out gown. She looks so classy and pretty.
Emma also had a great moment when Robert Downey Jr. read out the names of the Best Comedic Actress nominees. RDJ riffed on how he only knew how talented the ladies were if they slept with him, and went on to name-check all the women in the category, saving Emma for last. Emma kept her poker face on as RDJ pretended to be engaged in a torrid affair with her. It was great!
Claire?s moment came when she won Best Actress for Temple Grandin, a terrific movie and one of Claire?s best roles ever. It was so exciting to see the real Temple there, and see Claire and Temple embrace. Lovely.

She?s been in talks with the producers of ?Homeland? for awhile, and now it?s confirmed that Claire Danes is set to play the lead female role.
According to Deadline Hollywood, ?Homeland? is centered around an American soldier taken prisoner during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Ms Danes will play Carrie Anderson, a driven CIA officer battling her psychological demons who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to his re-capture was a setup and that this national hero may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil.
This marks the first series project Claire has done since ABC?s ?My So-Called Life.?
