The reign of platform heel is mercifully over, ushering in the return of the classic pointy-toe pump, which is hands-down my favorite shoe. You can’t mess it up — it works just as well with a business suit as it does with jeans. You can do the pointy-toe pump in patent leather, or covered in sparkles a la Emma Watson, or in suede or satin. There’s also calf hair and snakeskin and my new personal favorite, the cap-toe. Fun fact: they also double as anti-venom if you’re ever bitten by Courtney Stodden or impaled on one of her shoes during an attack.

Perhaps Emma Watson’s career took off more than she anticipated after the Harry Potter franchise drew to an end a few years ago. It all started with that Lancome sponsorship and then snowballed into several consecutive films — My Week with Marilyn, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Bling Ring (which sounds like a bit of a disaster despite boasting Sofia Coppola as director), and Noah (the one with furry Russell Crowe) — that have slowed down Emma’s collegiate plans a bit. Apparently, Emma really misses university (as do I because it was like a vacation from life) and wants to put the brakes on her movie-making career for awhile while she heads back to Brown. She’s even planning on enrolling in classes for the spring 2013 semester. Really:

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson will return to Brown University in Providence, R.I., for the 2013 winter semester, her rep confirmed to Gossip Cop.
Watson, 22, was previously enrolled at the Ivy League college from September 2009 to March 2011, at which point she decided to take a short break from her studies to focus on her career and to promote the final installment of the Harry Potter franchise, which came out in July of that year.
“As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything, but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible,” the Brit wrote on her blog at the time.
“I will still be working towards my degree,” she assured fans. “It’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought.”
A few months later, the Perks of Being a Wallflower star announced that she would be spending her junior year abroad, at Oxford University. While there, she met fellow student Will Adamowicz, whom she has been dating since late 2011.
Watson had planned to return to Brown once she returned from her year in England, but she deferred again in August to take on a number of film projects, including the Sofia Coppola-directed flick Bling Ring and Noah, starring Russell Crowe as the biblical title character.
Now, however, it seems she’s ready to once again step out of the spotlight and into the crowd of co-eds at Brown.
“I’ve never even been asked for an autograph on campus,” she told the Sunday Times Magazine last year of her experience at the school. “I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook.”

If anything, I don’t question Emma’s delay in completing her undergraduate degree as much as the odd need her rep feels for announcing Emma’s every coming and going in regard to an educational institution. If I had her money and the opportunity to make a lot more of it, I’d probably take my time finishing up a degree too. Perhaps Emma just doesn’t want to pull a James Franco by concurrently enrolling at several universities and then deciding not to attend class (only to get a professor fired for handing out a well-deserved “D” grade). So yes, Emma is no James Franco, and she’s a lot cuter than him too.

These are more photos from the ELLE magazine 19th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills last night. Emma Watson was one of the big ?gets? at the event, and she was awarded the ?Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award? for her work on The Perks of Being A Wallflower, and her upcoming movies. Emma wore Calvin Klein for the event? I don?t hate it. It?s appropriate on her, it looks fine. It?s not super-exciting or anything, but it?s a solid look. I will say this ? her hair looks good and her makeup looks GREAT.
I don?t know what designer Uma Thurman is wearing ? I suspect it?s Calvin Klein as well. This is one of Uma?s first red carpets since giving birth to a baby girl a few months ago. Incidentally, we still don?t know the name of the baby. I think Uma looks really good here ? I would have liked to see her hair up, but overall, she looks great.
Viola Davis in Calvin Klein? gorgeous. I love when she wears white. It?s a great look for her. I love the pop with the blue shoes too!
Julianne Hough was one of my worst dressed of the event. Look at this mess! Unflattering dress, way too much makeup, and milkmaid hair. Awful. I?m so tired of Julianne trying to be a ?thing? too. It?s over, Julianne. No one is buying it.

These are photos of Emma Watson at a London screening of her new film, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, which was held at the Mayfair Hotel. Sigh? I was going to say something nice about the pants, but really? I can?t. I took a close look at them, and the pants aren?t all that, and they?re part of an ill-conceived ensemble. But I?ll say a few nice things: from the bust up, this is maybe the prettiest Emma has ever looked. Good makeup, good hair, simple jewelry, and overall, she?s just very cute and pretty. I don?t even mind that little sausage curl-bangs thing. It seems romantic rather than trashy.
As for the dress-and-pants ensemble? it?s Dior. Is it just me, or has Dior really gone drastically downhill since Galliano was forced out? I?m not saying they didn?t have every right to force John Galliano out ? they did, and I?m glad he?s gone. But surely the House of Dior can come up with something better than this, right? If she was just wearing the dress by itself, without the pants? it would have been too sweet. But when you put the dress with those ill-conceived and badly cut pants, it?s just awful. Sidenote: On second look, the pants are okay in profile. But the front view is rough.
In other news, while she was doing press for Perks in the UK, she got the question about 50 Shades of Grey. Entertainment journalists are pretty much asking every actor and actress under the age of 35 if they would consider playing Christian Grey, the beautiful, tragic sadist, or Anastasia Steele, the beautiful dumbass who weeps hysterically whenever you spank her. So Emma was asked if she would consider playing Anastasia, and she said, ?The thing is I haven?t read any of the book because I haven?t read a script so it?s quite difficult to know what I?m turning down potentially but I hear it?s quite raunchy. I mean if there?s interesting character development and there?s an interesting story then I would consider it – but I haven?t been offered anything.? Let?s keep it that way, Emma. They wouldn?t offer her the part, right? Her image is way too ?clean? and proper. Just like Anastasia before she met Christian Grey. *rips bodice*

With her new film finally out in theaters, Emma Watson made an exciting appearance on ?Late Night with Jimmy Fallon? on Thursday evening (September 13).
Before her interview, the 22-year-old actress rushed out on stage to join the host in a fruitful dance, in which the 37-year-old strategically lifted her up. After the moment, Miss Watson tweeted, ?Danced with @jimmyfallon tonight . #anotherboxticked : )?
Emma dished to Jimmy about her role in ?The Perks of Being a Wallflower? and said, ?The people who identify with this book are really passionate about this book. I hadn?t heard about it before I took on the role. I read the script and then I read the book after, but now I fully get it.?
When talking about the main character Charlie, the ?Harry Potter? star described him as a ?Bambi in headlights? who is thrown into high school.

These are photos of Emma Watson at the New York premiere/screening of her new film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. CB covered the LA premiere photos earlier this week ? you can see them here. At the LA premiere, Emma wore a really terrible Armani gown which did absolutely nothing for her. But I think Emma really pulled it together for the NY premiere, right? Everything?s working for me here.
It?s not even that I?m in love with Emma?s little white Brood dress ? if you really analyze the structure of this dress, it shouldn?t work at all. But the effect is actually pretty cute, and it looks great on Emma. Plus, her styling is just worlds better ? I really like her hair like this, and the heels are great, and I love the ring/finger bling thing on her left hand.
Since I?m not living if I?m not bitching about something, here are my two minor complaints. One, the blue eyeshadow! It?s so wrong! But even then, it?s not a dealbreaker. She?s 22 years old, she loves makeup, and it?s an evening event. I?m not crazy about the blue eyeshadow, but let her have her fun, and it?s not totally hideous on her either. Second complaint: the dress is too short. If she even tried to sit down, she would have been flashing her English biscuits to everyone. Just two more inches of fabric, and it still would have been cute.

Back on the red carpet for a final press function on the eve of her new movie's release, Emma Watson looked fabulous at The Cinema Society special screening of "The Perks Of Being A Wall Flower" in New York City on Thursday (September 13).
Clad in a beautiful Brood frock, the "Harry Potter" actress joined alongside co-stars Logan Lerman, Johnny Simmons, Ezra Miller, Adam Higenbuch and Erin Wilhelmi for the Crosby Street Hotel held Big Apple premiere.
As for their movie, the Stephen Chbosky directed drama tells the story of 15-year-old Charlie (Lerman) and his struggle to cope with his first love, the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness, all while struggling to fit in.
Also starring Nina Dobrev Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman, Dylan McDermott, and Kate Walsh, ?The Perks of Being a Wallflower? is set to hit theaters on Friday, September 14.

Emma Watson attended the premiere ofThe Perks of Being a Wallflower, the same one Nina Dobrev was at. Anyway, she looked alright. If this was Harry Potter, she’d get maybe 1/2 a point for Gryffindor.

Emma Watson’s fashion is often hit or miss, but I’ve been impressed by how gorgeous she’s looked lately in some funky modern little dresses. She’s got a great figure and can wear just about anything, but instead she’s chosen to cover up in a nude-colored tiered lace and sequin Armani gown that just falls flat in my opinion. Maybe she’s going for elegant boho, but I think the color just washes her out. Plus her styling is a little too severe. Her slicked back hair and bright red lips don’t go with the dress somehow. She’s so pretty and I hate to see her styled like this.
Also at the premiere we have the always-lovely Nina Dobrev. I love to see Nina on the red carpet, she has an amazing stylist and it’s likely she has a very good eye for fashion herself. She wore this deep red asymmetric Reem Acra dress accented by a cutout lace collar and sleeves. This is a killer dress and I love her hair and makeup. Her shoes are so cute! They’re Rupert Sanderson according to Just Jared.
New dad Jackson Rathbone was hot in a blue shirt, striped tie and vest. How adorable is this guy?
Shailene Woodley looks like she’s not trying at all in a black pantsuit. I like to see her on the red carpet though, she just seems like she’s having a good time regardless.
I’m also including Meg Whitman, whom I know from Parenthood on NBC. I just checked and the new season premieres tonight! I’m squeeing so hard now. Meg’s dress is a big old miss with those sheer panel in the bodice and the lung-covering pieces of fabric, but I love her so she’s here.
Oh here’s the trailer for Perks of Being a Wallflower again. As I mentioned earlier this week, it reminds me of a John Hughes movie. I love these coming of age films and I’ll probably see this one. It’s out in the US on September 20th.

Stepping out for an exciting evening, Emma Watson attended the Hollywood premiere of her new flick ?The Perks of Being a Wallflower? last night (September 10).
The English hottie wore a simple-yet-sexy beige backless lace dress as she posed for the paparazzi outside the ArcLight Cinerama Dome.
Emma was joined by fellow famous folks like Nina Dobrev, Ezra Miller, Jackson Rathbone and Shailene Woodley at the star-studded affair.
Prior to the premiere, Watson tweeted to her fans, "If you guys have a free hour at 6:30 come to the Cinerama Dome Sunset Boulevard and celebrate the Hollywood Premiere of 'Perks'. C u there! I think we have 10 tickets to give away to the movie...."
