Taking a break from collegiate life, Emma Watson says that she's going to be focusing on her professional commitments, for now.
The "Harry Potter" actress recently revealed that she's taking some time off from her Ivy League studies at Brown University to focus on acting and finish promotions for the final installment in the Potter series.
?As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I?ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible,? the 20-year-old actress shared on her official website.
?I?ve decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree? it?s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought : )? Emma added, thanking fans for their support.

It?s one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and ?Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2? has announced the premiere date.
According to Warner Bros, the film will make its UK premiere on July 7th, 2011 at London?s Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square.
And it sounds like the Mayor of London Boris Johnson is pumped about the momentous upcoming occasion.
He stated, "For the last decade we've been gripped by the on-screen battle between Harry Potter and his arch enemy Lord Voldemort and this is one of the most eagerly awaited films in history. As befits a great British triumph, I can think of no better venue than the iconic surroundings of Trafalgar Square in which to stage the most spectacular of send offs for this dramatic finale.?
Warner Bros Honcho Josh Berger added, "We are delighted that our plans for the finale of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will take place in such a spectacular venue. We pride ourselves on the creativity of our premieres and the space within Trafalgar Square will lend itself to being a magical experience for both guests and fans."

Over the past five days or so, there has been 20 million new photos of Emma Watson. I guess she?s on her own special holiday from university (??) because she?s been in London, partying her ass off, going to events and being a fashion girl. These photos are form various events - the BAFTAs (in frilly Valentino), the Elle Style Awards (wearing the Hakaan cut-out dress), and Emma?s club-hopping with? Harvey Weinstein. Yeah. Let me say this at the start: I?m not one of those people who finds Emma to be a stunningly beautiful young woman. She?s just not, to me. She has moments where I think she?s pretty and cute, and I do think she?s got a good head on her shoulders. But when I hear people talking about how beautiful she is, I just think ?Her?? Her style is hit-or-miss too, which is something that I understand. She?s young, I doubt she employs a stylist full-time, and she?s still figuring out what looks good on her.
Speaking of what looks good on her, while at the Elle Style Awards, Emma told the press that she was growing out her short hair, because she thinks the Mia Farrow look won?t help her career:
When Emma Watson chopped her long locks last summer, it was to mark the end of her Harry Potter days ? contractually, she couldn?t cut her hair while playing Hermione. But since debuting her pixie cut in August, the actress has been trying to grow the ?do a bit ? this time, to get acting roles.
At the ELLE Style Awards in London last night, where Watson received the Style Icon award from Vivienne Westwood, the starlet revealed to reporters that she?s liking her extra length.
?I am trying to grow it but it?s slow, it?s taking a while obviously,? she told ELLE. ?If I want to keep acting then it?s more flexible for me to have it longer for different roles, it?s quite a specific cut. I?m kind of looking forward to getting to a cute little bob stage.?

I applaud her for not going with ratty extensions or big wigs. I like that she?s trying to get longer hair the old-fashioned way. And I too am over her little pixie cut. I think it?s the extreme shortness of the little bangs trauma that really gets me. When she slicks her hair back, it looks cute. When her little bangs are pushed forward, I want to hold her down and shave her head.

Stepping out for a stylish evening, Emma Watson was on-hand for the Elle Style Awards 2011 in London, England on Monday (February 14).
The "Harry Potter" hottie shimmied down the arrival area at The Grand Connaught Rooms venue ahead of the annual fashionable fete.
Having attended the BAFTAs the previous night, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling revealed that Miss Watson was "mortified" upon learning about smooch scenes with co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
Rowling dished, "I was having a girlie chat with Emma in her dressing room about three or four years ago and she said, 'I think I'm going have to kiss Rupert, aren't I?'"
"I told her, 'If I write it the way I think I'm going to write it, you're going to have to snog both of them, [Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint],' and she was absolutely mortified and rolled off the sofa laughing."
To this, Emma added, "I was only 14 and the idea was absolutely... they're like my brothers!"

Making her way to the red carpet, Emma Watson was among the stars partaking in the Orange British Academy Film Awards 2011 in London, England on Sunday (February 13).
Held at The Royal Opera House, the "Harry Potter" actress looked darling as she readied for the much-awaited BAFTA festivities.
The ceremony sees Jonathan Ross as host for the fifth year while being broadcast on BBC1.
Of the event, Deputy Bafta chairman David Parfitt was high on British films this year around, as he said, "British film has always punched above its weight in the film world. British film is always quite well represented in the Oscars as well as the Baftas."
"It's not that we have a particular bias. British film in general plays well around the world because it's very good."

Enjoying a fun-filled night on the town, a maturing Emma Watson partook in the pre-BAFTA bashes in London, England on Friday (February 11).
Clad in a Burberry trench, the "Harry Potter" hottie finally ventured back to her hotel after leaving Mahiki nightclub at three in the morning.
Prior to Mahiki, Miss Watson joined a slew of fellow celebs at another BAFTA fete being held at the popular Almada Bar.
The outings follow a Twitter post from the young actress confirming plans to star alongside Logan Lerman in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower".

Opting to ring in 2011 in the States, Emma Watson was spotted arriving at LAX International Airport in Los Angeles, California on Friday (December 31).
The lovely actress was fresh off of an overseas flight from London's Heathrow Airport, as she looked cute in a navy jacket and black trousers while toting a Globetrotter safari handbag through the terminal.
The trip to the U.S. comes after Miss Watson celebrated Christmas with her family in the UK, while also having to tend to Harry Potter re-shoot efforts.
She tweeted of the efforts, "Hi guys, are you all ready for Christmas? Not long to go now... Exams all done and I?m back in the UK in 6 inches of snow. Currently at Leavesden filming reshoots with Dan and Rupert. Feels strange to be back! x"

Ever the gracious celebrity, Emma Watson took to her website with a video message for her loyal fans.
The ?Harry Potter? hottie gave a review of the past year and thank everyone for their love and support.
Emma began, ?Hi everyone?Well, I think it?s safe to say this has been a pretty busy year for me! On the work front, I designed an organic clothing collection with Alberta Ferretti due out next Spring, a fair trade range for People Tree also due to be released in the Spring, fronted the Burberry Spring/Summer 2010 campaign, had my first British Vogue cover, filmed a small part in My Week With Marilyn alongside Michelle Williams and Eddie Redmayne and, of course, filming finished on the very last Harry Potter film!?
?I also completed my first year at Brown and began my second year this September. I am so glad I made the decision to go to university there - it continues to be an amazing experience and I have made so many great friends. Oh, and I had a haircut, you might have read about it?!?
?I just wanted to send you all a quick message to say Merry Christmas. I continue to be overwhelmed by the love and support you all give to me. I really do appreciate it. So wherever you are this December, I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and wish you a wonderful New Year.?

It’s difficult to think of Emma Watson without picturing Hermione Granger, even with her new Mia Farrow haircut.
We’ve seen Emma grow from an awkward girl to a confident young woman attending university while simultaneously being an international star and fashion icon over the past 10 years.
The release of the final Harry Potter film next year is bittersweet. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the films’ three young stars, especially if Emma is unable to find roles outside of Hermione, or if she even wants to.
Maybe it’s ignorance, naivete, but I really am not [afraid of always being seen as Hermione]. I don’t have this intense fear or a desire to separate myself from the role. I’m really proud of the work I’ve done. I’m a geeky Harry Potter fan myself, so it would be stupid to try and fight it….The difficulty for me is that I’m interested in so many different things. I could never really imagine myself doing one thing, and I’m pretty sure that I’ll end up doing four or five things. I want to be a Renaissance woman. I want to paint, and I want to write, and I want to act, and I want to just do everything.

As much as she enjoyed playing Hermione, she was also ready to be free of her.
I love that she [Hermione] has an opinion, that she’s intelligent, that she also has a heart. Things I dislike about her: she’s a little bossy, a little mothering — which I’m sure could get very irritating….I’d had my hair long for 10 years while I was playing Hermione. When I finished filming, I needed something different. I think I [waited] two or three weeks. You really have to be in a good frame of mind to do something so drastic to your appearance. When I was feeling very confident, I was like, I’m going to cut it off.

She played Irina in Chekhov’s play Three Sisters in a school production at Brown, yet had to make it through two rounds of auditions. The show played to packed houses and good reviews. At Brown, she also plays field hockey and shares a dorm suite with five other students, including Scout Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.
She took a supporting role as a wardrobe assistant in the film My Week with Marilyn.
Emma is anxious to dispel one rumor about her college days. No one yelled “10 points to Gryffindor” after she answered a question correctly in class at Brown, which I thought was sort of clever.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 is in theaters now. Part 2 will open July 15, 2011.
