Here are some photos of Kate Winslet getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. I believe the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars are bought by the studios at this point and the ?star ceremony? timed for film promotion. Winslet did about a week of work on Divergent, so that?s what she?s promoting, just FYI. Shailene Woodley was at the Walk of Fame ceremony, as was Kathy Bates.
Kate looks good, doesn?t she? But I always like her more when she looks ?softer? ? I think she stopped doing the Botox during her pregnancy last year and I hope she never goes back. She looks so much younger now post-pregnancy. Her youngest, son Bear Blaze, is 14 weeks old. Winslet appeared on The Ellen Show yesterday to talk Divergent, the Walk of Fame and Kate?s new husband and baby:
Kate confirms that yes, she named her baby BEAR BLAZE WINSLET. And I love how Ellen really presses her on marrying a man who changed his name to Ned RockNRoll. I can feel Ellen?s judgment from here, and I?m right there with Ellen. I feel like Winslet is a little bit embarrassed too ? Kate explains that Ned changed his name before they had even met and Ellen asks if Kate would have approved of the name change if she had gotten a say in it. When Kate is talking about the baby?s name, Kate confirms that Bear?s surname is Winslet not RockNRoll and Ellen is basically like, ?Well, that answers that.?

Kate Winslet covers the new issue of Glamour UK, the February issue. I assume she?s promoting Labor Day, which? I don?t know, you guys. I think it looks like a funky Hallmark movie and the idea of Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet together romantically just doesn?t do anything for me. Anyway, I think the interview was done shortly before Kate gave birth, and definitely before she named her newborn son BEAR WINSLET. But even before the birth happened, Kate had a lot to say about baby names and the name of her lover/husband, Ned RockNRoll. Honestly, I thought these quotes were hilarious (not intentionally hilarious, but funny all the same):
On the possibility of giving Bear Winslet the name ?RockNRoll?: ?We haven?t ever really had that conversation; it was always going to have my name. Mia and Joe have it as part of their name, so it would be weird if this baby didn?t. Of course we?re not going to call it RocknRoll. People might judge all they like, but I?m a f–king grown-up.?
Whether she cares about losing the baby weight: ?Having just had a baby, I?m not going to be thinking about my arse.?
She still wonders if she?s a good actress: ?Acting is bloody scary. I still have moments when I think ?I can?t do this ? everybody thinks I?m absolutely sh*t.?
On her privacy: “When Ned and I got married – the lengths we went to: ‘Don’t tell me over the phone!’ The sad thing is, anyone who was in the public eye, you just expected your phone to be hacked. Still now, I’m having a private conversation, I’ll say, ‘Don’t tell me over the phone.’ The assumption is that if you’re successful you probably think you’re something special, so we probably ought to take you down a peg or two. But I don’t think I’m special at all. The reality is I absolutely love my little life – which is, away from all the other, a little life. I trundle along; we have friends over; I make dinner. It’s weird because the two worlds are so different: from fishfingers for tea to film sets. But that’s the case for any actress who’s a mother. Sure, I could have lots of people who do the cooking, the driving, all that jazz- but I would be unhappy. I wouldn’t want my children raised that way.”
On her refusal to read about herself: “I don’t actually read anything in the press, because if I did, I would be a crazy person. But no one knows about my life. No one knows what’s really happened in my life. Believe me, at the end of the day, all that matters is that I’m not any kind of f–ked-up. No one has a right to comment on anyone’s life or the choices I do or don’t make. It’s very easy to be judgmental until you know someone’s truth. People have no idea at all. The lovely thing for me is that I don’t have to say what’s happened in my life that has taken me down this path. I just can’t even begin to tell you how lucky I am that I suddenly feel I’ve got something wonderful.”
On the media’s harsh remarks about her children: “It’s quite sad that we live in a nation where the press choose to be unkind about the fact that I [had] a baby. It baffles me, truly, that you can publicity treat a person like that. It’s not very nice. I’m really sorry to be the nation’s press that I fell in love and got pregnant; I do apologize if you deem that irresponsible.”
[From The Mail & The Gossip Center]
I could parse every single one of these quotes all day long. I love them. But let?s just break down the first part, about the RockNRoll name. First: ?We haven?t ever really had that conversation; it was always going to have my name.? So, she got married for the third time and pregnant for the third time and it?s all about this crazy, amazing, life-changing love, but they?ve never sat down and had a conversation about the baby?s surname? That?s weird. Secondly: ?Of course we?re not going to call it RocknRoll.? LMAO!!! Gurl, WE TOLD YOU. We told you that you looked like an idiot for falling in love with a dude who changed his name to ?Ned RockNRoll.? You didn?t listen. Don?t get all huffy, baby doll! Thirdly: ?People might judge all they like, but I?m a f–king grown-up.? Prove it. Prove it by not naming your son BEAR WINSLET.
Also, Winslet had some recent thoughts about Miley Cyrus too:
?You hear horror stories where you think, ?God, who?s looking after these people and why does it seem like they?re losing their way?? I mean, you think about someone like Miley Cyrus, and I said to my daughter the other day, ?I?m this close to opening my mouth about what?s going on with that girl.? Who is actually saying [to Miley], ?Stop for a second, what do you want, who are you???
[From Vanity Fair]
I?ve heard a lot of people say this kind of stuff about Miley recently. I think because it was the close of the year and Miley was all over the place in the last half, so it became ?the Year of Miley? or ?The Year of the Twerk? or whatever. I heard someone ? and I will not identify who, but they said it to my face ? say that Miley needs to be hosed off and locked up for a year until she figures out how to be in the public eye without being so vapid and stupid.

Kate Winslet popped out that parasite that had been feeding on her a few weeks ago. It turned out to be of the boy variety. Since the kid is the spawn of a guy named Ned RockNRoll, everyone assumed he’d have similarly regretful of name. Everyone was right. They named the kid Bear Winslet. As in that animal that sh*ts in the woods or the slang term for a big, hairy gay man.
Granted, the name isn’t as retarded as some other celebrity baby names like Blu Ivy or Apple and the kid will join the likes of notables like Bear Grylls and, uh, Alicia Silverston’s kid, Bear Blu. And luckily for that kid, Yogi Bear would be before his time so he’ll be spared the fate of his friends always asking him to get some picnic baskets.

Kate Winslet gave birth a few weeks ago, adding a new baby boy to her family which now includes one child per husband. Mia?s father is Jim Threapleton, Joe?s father is Sam Mendes, and now Kate?s third husband Ned RockNRoll has contributed an heir as well. Kate didn?t announce the name immediately, and many of us were having fun with the idea of what kind of name Kate and Ned would give their boy, and if the kid would even have the RockNRoll name. Turns out? the name is? different. BEAR WINSLET. Seriously. They named the kid Bear Winslet.
Talk about animal magnetism. Kate Winslet and her husband of one year, Ned Rocknroll, have named their newborn son Bear Winslet, a spokesperson for Winslet confirms to PEOPLE.
The Oscar winner welcomed her third child on Dec. 7 at a National Health Service hospital near the West Sussex home she shares with her husband and children, Mia, 13 and Joe, 10.
In the weeks leading up to baby Bear?s arrival, Winslet, 38, had been seen relaxing, dining out and taking in a London theater show with friends.
Rocknroll, 35, who works on his uncle Richard Branson?s Virgin Galactic project, was previously called Abel Smith before officially changing his name.
Other famous Bears, aside from Paddington and Smokey, include the British adventurer Bear Grylls and Alicia Silverstone?s son, Bear Blu.
[From People]
My first thought was not Bear Grylls or Bear Blu or even Paddington. My first thought was ?Hey, isn?t that what Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart named their rescue puppy?? And it?s true. K-Stew and Sparkles? dog is named Bear Stewart-Pattinson (I might be making up the hyphenate) and they share custody of Bear. And while Kate can name her babies whatever she wants, I do tend to think ?Bear? is either a nickname or a dog?s name. Plus, you?re putting a lot on this kid ? Bear Winslet could never be a nerdy, geeky, asthmatic kid, right? He?s GOT to be an outdoorsman, someone tough and salt of the earth.
Also? why the Winslet surname? Why not Bear RockNRoll? Or Bear Winslet-RockNRoll?

| Kate Winslet threatens legal action over custodial rights advocacy group's ads | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes split in March 2010 after a half-dozen years together and one son together, Joe Mendes. Shortly after their split, the UK tabloids began saying that the real reason for the split was Sam?s affair with Rebecca Hall. Those stories were denied for a while, but Sam and Rebecca have been together since 2010, and they even go out as a couple together these days. This is just some minor backstory.
A few months ago, Kate appeared on the cover of Vogue. In her Vogue interview, Kate claimed that her children (Joe and daughter Mia, from Kate?s first marriage) have ?always been with me. They don?t go from pillar to post; they?re not flown here and there with nannies. That?s never happened. My kids don?t go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads ? my children live with me; that is it. That is it!? A lot of people (myself included) nit-picked what Kate said, interpreting it as ?Kate?s kids rarely spend time with their fathers.? Which is how one fathers? custodial rights group (Fathers4Justice) interpreted the comments as well, and they targeted Kate in an ad campaign. Kate and her lawyers are now threatening the group with legal action, and Sam Mendes has issued a statement about the situation.
Hollywood director Sam Mendes has criticised a fathers’ rights group after his ex-wife Kate Winslet was targeted in the organisation’s Christmas campaign.
Members of Fathers4Justice, which campaigns for custodial rights for dads, have launched a new poster featuring the Oscar winner’s face alongside the caption, “Kate, every child deserves a father this Christmas.”
The campaign refers to Winslet’s controversial quotes in which she claimed her two eldest children, who have different fathers, live with her full time.
She said, “My kids don’t go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads – my children live with me, that is it.”
Mendes, who has a nine-year-old son, Joe, with the actress, has now spoken out to defend his ex-wife, telling Britain’s Daily Mirror, “It is inappropriate for this organisation to involve my family and I when they know nothing of our personal circumstances. Whilst I fully support fathers’ rights, I can happily state this has never been a concern for me or my son.”
In response, a statement from the group reads, “We are running this advert as part of a campaign to highlight the sensitive issue of four million children waking up on Christmas Day without their father. It is clear from what Kate says that she does not support ‘shared parenting’.”
Winslet also has a 13-year-old daughter, Mia, from her marriage to Jim Threapleton and she gave birth to a son with her third husband Ned Rocknroll on 7 December (13).

I?m interpreting this several ways. One, Kate has been known to massage the truth of the situation to make herself look like a better person, or to make herself look like the best mother ever. It?s perfectly possible her kids spend a lot of time with their dads and Kate was just lying or equivocating about the custodial arrangements. Two, it?s possible that Joe Mendes doesn?t spend that much time with his dad and Sam really doesn?t give a crap because he?s so busy with his girlfriend. Or it could be both, I guess.
Meanwhile, Fathers4Justice has issued their own statement following Winslet?s legal threats:
?Kate Winslet brought her children/parenting arrangements into the public domain with her comments, not Fathers4Justice. We believe the content of the advert is accurate, balanced and reflective of the comments she made. We do though welcome Mr Mendes comments supporting fathers’ rights and find it regrettable that instead of resolving this dispute as we had agreed, Kate Winslet has sought redress through legal action. I would like to re-iterate that Fathers4Justice has not made any comment in our advert about the personal arrangements of Ms Winslet and the fathers of her children.?
?We do not know what they are and we have clearly stated that we don’t and that those arrangements are not the basis for our advert. What we have referred to in the advert is a direct quote from Ms Winslet herself, a statement she put in the public domain through a lengthy self promotional interview in Octobers Vogue magazine. The final copy of which Ms Winslet would have no doubt seen prior to publication. Ms. Winslet?s comments on shared parenting were then quoted worldwide by numerous newspapers, who also took issue with them. Of course if Ms Winslet is now saying, through her legal team who are threatening Fathers4Justice, that the Vogue article is inaccurate and that Vogue mis-quoted her, then that is something she needs to take up with them and not us.?
[Via The Mail]
Interesting. I?d say that Father4Justice has a legal leg to stand on, but I don?t know much about the UK?s libel laws.

Lord, I completely forgot that Kate Winslet was knocked up. I kept forgetting about her pregnancy over and over again, so that whenever she did show up on a red carpet, I was like, ?OMG, Winslet?s knocked up, how did I forget that?? Well, I won?t have to remember it anymore. Winslet gave birth to her first RockNRoll baby, her third child overall. According to Page Six, Kate and her husband Ned RockNRoll (seriously) welcomed a baby boy.
It?s a boy for Kate Winslet! The Oscar-winning actress, 38, and her third husband, Ned Rocknroll, the 35-year-old nephew of Virgin tycoon Richard Branson, welcomed a 9-pound boy into the world at a London hospital on Monday, a source close to the family told me.
Winslet, who now has had a child with each of three different husbands, has also responded to criticism of her parenting of Mia, 13, and Joe, 9. ?People go, ?Oh, my God! Those poor children. They must have gone through so much,??? she told Vogue. ?They don?t go from pillar to post; they?re not flown here and there with nannies. That?s never happened .?.?. My children live with me. That is it. That is it.?
When she hasn?t been in labor, Winslet has been busy promoting ?Labor Day,? in which she plays a single mother who offers a ride to a wounded escaped convict, played by Josh Brolin. Things take a Stockholm-syndrome turn for her character. The movie hits theaters at the end of January.
[From Page Six]
Well, congrats. I was kind of hoping she would have a girl, but that?s just me ? I think girls are more fun. I?m glad everything seems healthy and what have you. I was really looking forward to hearing the name, especially what last name the baby would have. Ned famously changed his name (legally!) to Ned RockNRoll as an adult, which means this baby will probably carry the RockNRoll name. Either that or the baby will be Hyphenate Winslet-RockNRoll. When I thought it might be a girl, I suggested Eylove RockNRoll. So what about the boy? What boy?s name goes with RockNRoll? Yeezus RockNRoll? Benedict Timothy Carlton RockNRoll? Moonunit RockNRoll? The possibilities are endless.

As I previewed on Monday, Kate Winslet covers the November issue of Vogue. Vogue hasn?t released their cover story online yet, but various outlets have some interesting little pieces of info. As for the Mario Testino photoshoot ? which has been released, and you can see Vogue?s slideshow here ? I like everything but the cover shot. The cover shot makes Winslet look like a Barbie. But the rest of the pics are rather gorgeous, and they are giving me more of an Annie Leibovitz vibe than Mario Testino. Apparently, Kate and Mario are old friends, and she was even jokingly cursing him out during the shoot, yelling: ?Actually, Mario, do you even know how to take a fackin’ photograph?? Page Six also says that Kate discussed motherhood:
Kate Winslet?s willingness to tackle difficult and at times morally ambiguous roles has led many to call her the best actress of her generation and earned her an Oscar.
Her openness to take on such conflicted characters may be due to an affinity with their complex life choices. While the actress, 38, has earned plenty of praise for her acting, her personal life ? three marriages and two children, with another on the way with new husband Ned RocknRoll ? has come under plenty of scrutiny.
Winslet had some choice words for critics in a career-spanning interview that appears in the November issue of Vogue.
?People go, ?Oh, my God! Those poor children! They must have gone through so much.? Says who?? the actress said when asked about the criticism she?s received for her private life.
?They?ve always been with me,? she continued. ?They don?t go from pillar to post; they?re not flown here and there with nannies. That?s never happened. My kids don?t go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads ? my children live with me; that is it. That is it!?
Winslet said that while her children do have good relationships with their fathers ? past husbands include Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes ? she is glad to be the parent with whom they live.
As heated as Winslet may have gotten in the interview, the actress?s overly pristine look on the cover is more likely to be the big talking point when the issue hits newsstands on Wednesday.
[From Page Six]
Wait, what? Mia never spends time with her dad Jim? And Joe never sees his father Sam Mendes? I understand that she?s defending herself and her mothering skills, but I kind of wonder if she?s going overboard and overcompensating for what is probably joint custody relationships all around.
Also: Kate apparently Googles herself during the course of the interview. She also says, “I’m really good with coming up with the best answers as soon as the interview is over.?

| Kate Winslet in red Jenny Packham in London: glowing, radiant & not so Botoxy? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

A few years ago, I created some kind of sh-tstorm when I said that Kate Winslet looked jacked and tweaked, and that she was obviously made of lies when it comes to plastic surgery/Botox/non-surgical enhancements. To be fair to myself, throughout much of 2010 and 2011, Kate did look very ?different? and I kept pointing out that the version of Kate we were seeing was not the natural progression of aging considering her starting point of Titanic and Sense and Sensibility. And to be fair, Kate was rather strident in her claims she had never, ever done anything to her face.
I bring this up because I?m hoping that Kate has realized that she looks a lot better and a lot ?softer? without the Botox (and whatever else). Pregnancy helps a lot too! These are pics of Kate at the BFI London Film Festival last night, where she walked the red carpet for her new film, Labor Day. The dress is Jenny Packham ? Winslet also wore a Packham gown in Toronto too. That TIFF gown looked a lot like this one, just a different color.
Anyway, I think Kate looks amazing here. And look, that haughty, frozen look she had in 2011 is gone! MAGIC. The magic of not stuffing yourself with Botox. The magic of all of those pregnancy hormones which make you look glowing and radiant.
So, when do you think she?s due? I?d say sooner rather than later. Possible within the next month, maybe? And we still don?t know what?s going to happen with the name. Baby RockNRoll or Baby Winslet? Or Baby Hyphenate? Oh, God. What if it?s Eylove Winslet-RockNRoll?!?!?!
