In yesterday?s surprisingly controversial Kate Winslet post, I had an aside at the end about what name Mother Winslet should give the baby she?s expecting with her husband Ned RockNRoll. Some of you liked my suggestion of ?Eylove RockNRoll? and some of you had fun with some other suggestions (I liked ?Itsonly RockNRoll? too). But seriously, Ned really did legally change his name to RockNRoll. So is this baby seriously going to have the name ?RockNRoll?? Unknown. But Kate did give a new interview where she discussed her own name situation:
Actress Kate Winslet will not take on her new husband’s surname of Rocknroll, as she admits she wants to carry on her own family name.
Winslet, who appeared at the Toronto Film Festival this week to publicise Labor Day, married Richard Branson’s nephew Ned Rocknroll in December last year and is now expecting her third child.
Winslet, who has previously been married to Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes, told the Telegraph: ?I was never going to change my name to Rocknroll. I?ve never changed my name to anything so I didn?t see a reason to start now. I quite like Kate Winslet; in fact I think it?s very flashy. I?m proud of my name because I?m one of three girls and we have one boy in our family so essentially the only person who is going to carry the name along is my brother and he doesn?t have any children at the moment.?
Speaking of her varied film roles, and her own experience with relationships, she said: ?Of course I still believe in love. It?s up there with great food and the love for one?s child. My parents have been very happily married for well over 40 years now so to have grown up with that level of togetherness in the home was definitely something that was important to me and I?m sure I still carry that.?
She added she now feels ?really happy? in life, adding that ?things are wonderful?.
Winslet is currently playing a reclusive single mother, abandoned by her husband because she could not have any more children, in film Labor Day.
Earlier this year, a study found women were increasingly choosing to keep their own names after marriage, with a third of those in their twenties using their maiden name. The survey, carried out using Facebook, found 62 per cent of married women in their twenties took on their spouse?s surname, compared with 74 per cent in their thirties and 88 per cent in their sixties.
Rachel Thwaites, of the University of York, said there remained ?cultural and social pressure? on women to change their name, adding: ?Women who resist this pressure are often doing so as a feminist decision or a move for equality in their relationship.”
It is a tradition followed by many women in the public eye, including Zara Philips who uses her maiden name when she competes in equestrian events.

I don?t have any strong feelings about marital name-changes in general. No, that?s not true ? I?m not crazy about hyphenators, especially when the hyphenated name is super-long or pretentious sounding. Like, I didn?t care for Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. She should have either become Carolyn Kennedy or stayed Carolyn Bessette. I?m not in any kind of rush to get married, but if I did, I would keep my maiden name. I just don?t want to get a new driver?s license AND I don?t think my first name sounds good with any other last name (both are very Indian-sounding).
As for Kate, I don?t think ?Winslet? is flashy, but I do think her name suits her and it just sounds very English-y to my ears. She would not be the same at all if she was Kate RockNRoll. Seriously, what are they going to name this baby?!

Kate Winslet was at TIFF to promote her new movie, Labor Day, but I didn?t spy any photos of her husband (yes, did you forget that they got married?) Ned RockNRoll. But here are some pics of Ned and Kate leaving Claridges late Tuesday morning, where I assume they had been partying. Kate looks pretty good ? obviously, I doubt she was boozing it up since she?s well into her second trimester of her third pregnancy. I have to say this too ? Kate?s face looks so much more relaxed these days now that?s pregnant, right? Almost like she stopped Botoxing for her pregnancy. Huh. Ned looks decent too ? he got a haircut.
Kate recently made some comments about motherhood, etc, to Hello Mag:
Kate Winslet is a ”hands-on mother”. The ‘Titanic’ actress – who has 13-year-old daughter Mia with first husband Jim Threapleton and nine-year-old son Joe with second husband Sam Mendes – is expecting her third child with new husband Ned Rocknroll and although she’s a busy movie star, she always puts her role as a parent first.
She explained: ”My children are my whole life. Any mother knows that – the second your child is born, they become the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you think about at night.?
”I’m a very hands-on mother … Even as I was walking from the elevator to this room [at Toronto International Film Festival], I was texting the doctor back in the UK to get an appointment for my son because he has an earache. I’m the number one person to do all that stuff for them. Isn’t that what a mother is supposed to do?”
The 37-year-old star admits she isn’t sure how her ”career will be affected” by having three children, but she looks forward to juggling her illustrious career with being a mother.
She told HELLO! magazine: ”I do love acting and I feel as privileged to get do it now as I did when I was 17 years old. Because of the kids, I tend not to work too much. I try to limit myself to one project a year. But that means I really look forward to the films I make and whenever the time for the next job rolls around, it feels like Christmas to me!”

I believe that she?s a good, hands-on mom, but whenever I see her pontificate about motherhood these days, I?m reminded of a little piece of information that she discussed years ago in Vanity Fair, when she was promoting The Reader. When she went to Germany to work on The Reader, she left her kids with Sam Mendes (and her first husband, I?m assuming, since Jim Threapleton is Mia?s father) for five months. I mean, you can be a good mom and have to go away for work for a several months. I?m not saying that she?s some terrible mom for doing that. I?m just saying that these comments read like she’s trying to convince us that she’s Super-Mom and that we should judge all moms on The Winslet Scale. ?I’m the number one person to do all that stuff for them. Isn’t that what a mother is supposed to do?? Etc.
Speaking of good motherhood, will this this child have the last name ?RockNRoll?? I?m seriously asking. I suggest the name ?Eylove? if it?s a girl.

This is for all of those people who whine about Star Magazine ? Star gets is right (sometimes). Last week, Star had a story about Kate Winslet and how she?s ?desperate? to give her third husband, Ned Rocknroll, tons of Rocknroll babies. And now here we go. Kate Winslet is pregnant! This is her third pregnancy ? as I said in last week?s post, she cements each marriage with a baby. So Kate?s third child will be a Rocknroll baby. Ugh. I mean, congrats.

The Titanic actress, 37, and her husband Ned Rocknroll are expecting their first child together, PEOPLE has confirmed with her rep exclusively.
?Kate and Ned are delighted? over the news, the rep adds.
Despite her previous marriages ending in divorce, Winslet ? also mom to daughter Mia, 12, and son Joe, 9 ? always knew she wanted to expand her family further.
?I?m hoping to have more kids,? Winslet told InStyle in 2006. ?I don?t know whether one or two. Oh, God, I would love to have more.?
The Oscar-, Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning actress and Rocknroll, 34 ? who is the nephew of Richard Branson ? tied the knot in a secret ceremony in December after they began dating in the fall of 2011.

Eh. What else is there to say? I bet Kate enjoys this pregnancy more than her previous pregnancies, and I bet this experience will be so different for her. Her youngest child is 9 ? she gave birth to Joe before she had her Oscar (plus a slew of all of the other major awards). Her career is set, so if she wants to take some time off to enjoy everything, she probably will.
Oh, there was one thing I was going to nit-pick about. I?ve seen people describe Ned as ?rich? and ?coming from a very wealthy family?. Well? his uncle (Richard Branson) is rich. Ned is not, from what I know. Ned is wealth-adjacent, but he hasn?t made his own fortune or anything. He expects his uncle to support him, he expected his first wife to support him, and I suspect that Kate is paying all of his bills right now. Just FYI.

Ugh, I bet Ned Rocknroll smells like Patchouli. Let your mind wander when you look at these photos. What do you think he smells like? What does his O-Face look like? Does he wear his necklaces to bed? Think about it. That?s what Kate Winslet married last December. I would feel sorry for her, but I have to admit, I think Kate and Ned are incredibly happy together. Kate Winslet, one of the most talented actresses of her generation and winner of every acting award out there, is the happiest she?s ever been now that she?s with a man named Ned Rocknroll (who smells like Patchouli and probably weeps after sex). Ew. I bet he thinks he?s really good at tantric sex too. He looks like That Guy.
Where was I going with this? Right, so Kate and Ned got married last December, and they waited to confirm it until the day after Christmas. The announcement was met with a lot of groans, eye rolls and chuckles. But they?ve made it work for six whole months, so obviously Kate is thinking about getting pregnant right away.
Kate Winslet?s baby ship hasn?t sailed just yet! Kate, 37, who has two children, Mia (12) and Joe (9), from previous marriages, is desperate to add to her brood with her new husband, 34-year-old Ned Rocknroll.
?Kate knows how much Ned wants to be a father,? reveals a pal. ?She thinks they would have the most adorable kid together, so they?re planning on getting pregnant by the end of the year. Having a child together is her absolute priority.?

I?m actually kind of surprised that she?s not already pregnant. I seem to remember that was her M.O. with her two other big relationships/marriages, right? She got pregnant with Mia right around her engagement/marriage to Jim Treapleton (it was a shotgun wedding or maybe she had already given birth, I forget) and I believe she was pregnant when she married Sam Mendes too, right? Kate is That Girl. She cements every marriage with a child (or she cements every child with a marriage, depending on how you look at it). She?s on her third marriage, so obviously she?ll get pregnant a third time. Prepare for the birth of Patchouli Elvis Rocknroll. Or Hummingbird Rain Water Joan Jett Rocknroll.

Hard at work on her latest project, Kate Winslet filmed for the upcoming flick, "A Little Chaos" in the English Countryside on Sunday (April 21).
Sporting curly blonde hair and a long blue tunic, the 37-year-old actress got into character for the Alan Rickman-directed drama.
Also starring Matthias Schoenaerts and Pauline Moran, the film follows a pair of landscape gardeners who compete to design a fountain at Versailles for Louis XIV.
Aside from her current commitments, it was also announced last month that Miss Winslet will play a darker role in the Neil Burger directed sci-fi, "Divergent," which is set for a 2014 release date.

Kate Winslet covers the April issue of Harper?s Bazaar UK. The photo shoot is black-and-white and it?s stunning. Kate?s face is gorgeous, her body looks great, all of it. Of course I still think she?s had some work done on her face, but we don?t have to argue about it right now. I think people are evenly split on it ? half say she?s 100% all-natural, half say she?s been tweaked. It wouldn?t matter except she was always such a vocal advocate for ?no tweaking?. As for the ?Kate Rock N Roll? tag ? yes. She?s Kate RockNRoll. She married Ned RockNRoll. I don?t know if she formally took his name or not, but GOOD GOD. Some highlights from the interview:
Going through her second divorce and her third marriage: ?I?ve really learnt a great deal about myself, in the last four years in particular. I think I can see more clearly now ? about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am, and the characters I have played ? and I?m grateful for that.?
The bad times: ?I have so much more material to draw on for work ? rubble, bricks ? and I know I can carry it now. I?m not going to drop it, and if I do, I?ll sift through it. Does that make any sense at all? Probably not??
On receiving a CBE from Queen Elizabeth: ?Oh my God, she [the Queen] looks amazing. Beautiful skin – and wonderful thick hair. She looked really well and pretty and fresh, and she was wearing a lovely pale-yellow dress.?
On Sarah Burton taking over at McQueen: ?I do think Sarah Burton is a genius. And it?s remarkable what she?s done, moving into a role like that, and really keeping it McQueen – that?s hard. I mean, that?s like taking over playing Hamlet and playing it exactly the same. It?s just incredible. She?s given it a touch of herself without taking anything away from it.?

Did Ned RockNRoll take away Kate?s personality? Because you?d think that marrying a man who changed his name to Ned RockNRoll would mean that you could act a bit wilder. Maybe Kate is playing it safe because she knows that some people are judging her ? two divorces and a third marriage and she?s only 37 years old? I mean, I get it. And I think she really believed her second marriage was going to ?stick? and Sam Mendes was the one who wanted out. Also: Queen Elizabeth does look amazing!

According to Kate Winslet’s spokesman, Kate married Ned RocknRoll in New York earlier this month in a private ceremony in the Catskill mountains in a heated barn attended by her two kids and very few friends and family. So few, in fact, that Kate’s parents weren’t even there. They actually didn’t even know about it until much later.A few people say the quick wedding is because Kate is pregnant but probably not. This will be Kate’s third marriage.Wait, let’s back up for a second here. His last name is RocknRoll? That’s pretty cool but I’m wondering how they let a 10 year old change his name. Anyway, if they have a kid together, they should definitely name them SexDrugs with a middle name of And. It would be freaking sweet for the kid. I mean, for about a second until they come to the realization that their parents hate them.

Clearly, Kate Winslet relieved herself in the cornflakes of an editor of either Radar or Star Magazine, because this is SECOND ?Kate Winslet is a massive bitch? story to come out in a week?s time, and both stories originate in the Star/Radar family. Last week?s story was all about Kate being rude to the locals of a small Massachusetts town where her new movie, Labor Day, is filming. Locals ran to Star Magazine to claim that Winslet was throwing bitchfaces at everybody and that she wouldn?t even deign to wave or smile at any of the dozens/hundreds of people who were looking forward to meeting her. This week?s story is all about Kate being rude to yet more fans – this time on a Virgin Atlantic flight. Quick sidenote: Virgin Atlantic is the British airline company owned by Sir Richard Branson, who is the uncle of Kate Winslet?s boyfriend/lover, Ned RockNRoll. This sidenote was just to let you know that Kate and Ned were probably traveling for free, because that totally makes a difference in the story:
Kate Winslet is one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the actress isn’t very friendly off-screen and even brushed off two teenage fans. While flying on a Virgin Atlantic flight on June 11 from London to Boston, fellow first-class cabin fliers Susan Roberts and her two daughters Katie, 17, and Jenny, 14, noticed the Titanic star sitting just ahead of them and were saddened when they were snubbed by Kate.
“My two daughters asked for an autograph about half an hour into the six and a half hour flight and she told them she would come back later and visit. Well, that never happened,” Susan exclusively told RadarOnline.com. “It was very sad that she couldn’t be bothered.”
However, Susan said a flight attendant did come back to tell the girls Kate would autograph a book for them, but that she would have to make the exchange ? which she did for them.
“I am sad that she told the girls she’d visit with them. She could have just said she didn’t give autographs and the girls would have understood,” Susan explained. “They would have been disappointed but not disillusioned.”
The experience has changed Katie and Jenny’s affection for one of their favorite actresses, Susan said.
“My daughters have dumped their Titanic and The Holiday DVDs vowing never to watch her movies again,” Susan revealed.
Susan also told RadarOnline.com that she’s flown Virgin Atlantic in the past and usually has great service, but that with Kate on the flight the attendants were preoccupied in making sure her every need was met and other passengers were ignored.
“It was also sad that the usually excellent service through Virgin Atlantic was nonexistent as the flight attendants spent the majority of their time providing Ms. Winslet with food, tea and alcohol and the rest of the first class cabin was left to fend for itself,” Susan said. “The flight attendants even blocked the aisle where Kate was sitting.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, fans in Massachusetts claim they were also snubbed by Kate, 36, as they eagerly awaited her arrival on the set of Labor Day.
“Kate was so rude, she never once acknowledged any of us, I was devastated,” hopeful fan Shanna Swan told Star magazine. “She gave dirty looks to people in my town who waited hours to see her.”

OK, I didn?t quite get the thread of this random woman?s complaint. She went up to Kate and asked Kate to come and meet her children. Kate said ?Sure, whatever? and a few hours later Kate sent a stewardess back to the woman and her daughters with an offer to autograph a book, which the woman accepted. But the woman was pissed off that her daughters didn?t get to actually meet Kate, and she?s whining about the flight attendant doing the autograph exchange? Seriously? Once again, I?m not a huge Kate fan or anything, but I don?t really think this incident is some example of her stone-cold bitchery.
However, I am fascinated by the details about the flight attendants waiting on Kate exclusively – that?s because of her connection to Richard Branson, correct? Well, well, well. Looks like dating Ned RockNRoll does have one benefit. Is it worth the trade-off? You get to travel in style for free… but you have to date Ned RockNRoll.
Also: Kate was just named a Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth. It’s called a CBE, but I don’t think her title changes or anything – it’s not a knighthood or anything, is what I’m saying. So Kate’s not a Dame yet.
