The ?Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? actress can?t wait to get out of her $6 million New York Mansion and away from the awful memories it holds.
A gal pal told press, ?Kate really wants to leave the apartment. She sees it as a house of horrors because of the fights she and Sam had there. She feels it?s tainted.?
Additionally, Kate has been seeking comfort in her longtime friend and costar Leonardo DiCaprio. ?Since Kate?s marriage problems started, around the time they were filming Revolutionary Road, they?ve got closer again. Kate feels like she can tell Leonardo anything.?

The seven-year marriage of Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes is over.“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,” their lawyers said in a statement. “The split is amicable and by mutual agreement.”“Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”Winslet and Mendes were married back in 2003. The award-winning director and Titanic star / perennial Oscar nominee have a six-year-old son, Joe, together.

On Monday, it was announced that after seven years of marriage Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes have called it quits.
"She felt bored," a friend of the couple told the NY Daily News. "When Sam isn't working, he'd just as soon stay home. Kate loves going out. ... She was the one pushing for the divorce."Continuing to give reasons for the parting, the friend adds, "They've been pretty much living separate lives since the end of the summer. They realized some time ago that they were not a good fit. They were more like brother and sister."
The mutual friend then tells, ?The divorce is "amicable, civilized, very British.?
Winslet, 34, was on vacation in sunny Mexico when a London law firm announced the split while Mendes, 44, also could not be reached for comment.

Kate Winslet has separated from her film director husband Sam Mendes with the intent to file for divorce after almost seven years of marriage. The couple shares custody of a 7-year old son, as well as a 9-year old daughter from Kate’s previous marriage. Their lawyer told the Daily Mail
“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect their privacy at this time.”
You know, I liked this story better when Leo DiCaprio played the man left cradling the tattered remnants of the American Dream after his suburbanite marriage dissolves. And that little reference would actually mean something to you if you had bothered to see “Revolutionary Road” instead of jerking off to “All Giant on the Western Cunt” for the nine hundredth time. It’s a shame my genius has to be wasted on the likes of you.

Up bright and early, Kate Winslet was spotted leaving the Covent Garden in London England on Monday (February 22).
Dressed in all black with a slicked back ponytail, “The Reader” actress quickly signed some autographs for her adoring fans as she exited her vehicle.
On Sunday, Ms Winslet made an appearance at the BAFTA Awards in London to present an award, and coming up on March 7th she will be presenting an award at the annual Academy Awards.
Penelope Cruz and Sean Penn will be joining Winslet as presenters, who all picked up Oscars at last year’s ceremony.

Gearing up for an awards show weekend, Kate Winslet co-hosted the Lancome and Harper’s Bazaar Pre-BAFTA Party in London, England on Friday (February 19).
Held at St Martin’s Lane Hotel, the “Revolutionary Road” actress looked darling in a black frock as she mingled with guests including Lucy Yeomans, Sam Taylor-Wood and Aaron Johnson.
The party comes ahead of this Sunday’s BAFTA Awards show to be held at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden.
During the ceremony, Miss Winslet will be among the presenters, joining the likes of Robert Pattinson, Claire Danes, Uma Thurman, Dustin Hoffman, Clive Owen, Matt Dillon and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

Getting all prettied up for an evening on the town, Kate Winslet turned up at the 2009 Bambi Awards in Potsdam, Germany on Thursday (November 26).
Charming fellow attendees, the Oscar winning actress mingled with guests outside of the Metropolis hall before heading inside to perform her ceremony duties for the day.
And while she’s always in high demand when it comes to films, Miss Winslet certainly seems to have a fond place in the heart of “Titanic” director James Cameron.
He told Playboy magazine: “I’d certainly work with Kate Winslet again; she’s very talented. Whereas Leo DiCaprio switches his acting on and off like a faucet, Kate’s acting process is to internalize all this stuff and use it.”

You better not ever, ever make fun of Kate Winslet, or she’ll go and sue you for forty grand and somehow win. The technical legal term for said phenomenon is “crybaby puss.” According to Us Magazine
On Tuesday London’s High Court awarded the actress 25,000 British pounds (about $40,000 in American currency) in libel damages from the Daily Mail [for their] January article entitled “Should Kate Winslet win an Oscar for the world’s most irritating actress?” which she said “hurt and embarrassed” her. [The article also] claimed that Winslet, 34, lied about her exercise routine.
In a statement, Winslet said, “I was particularly upset to be accused of lying about my exercise regime and felt that I had a responsibility to request an apology in order to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise. To suggest that I was lying was an unacceptable accusation of hypocrisy.”
Back in grade school, we had the remedy for this sort of tattletale-type behavior. It was called “the purple nurple” and “the swirly.” Too bad she’s no longer bound by the rules of afternoon recess.
