Kate Winslet covers the new issue of Marie Claire UK. I wonder what she?s promoting? Let me look it up?eh, your guess is as good as mine. Maybe she?s promoting A Little Chaos, which doesn?t come out in America until next year. Maybe she?s promoting one of her modeling contracts. Maybe she?s just promoting herself and how she?s going to turn 40 years old (in October 2015). In any case, it?s a nice cover and a pretty nice shoot. Kate manages to get through the interview without trying to convince us that Ned RockNRoll is secretly a genius, so that?s always nice. Some highlights:
Stop talking about her ?dewy? skin: ‘I had a terrible bout of acne after I turned 30. I kept reading about my sodding dewy complexion and thinking, “Oh sh-t, look at me, I’m covered in bloody spots, proper cystic bumps, if only they knew…”‘
Diets: ‘Whenever I go to LA the make-up artist or hairdresser will end up having a conversation about how fat they think they are and I really just can’t take it seriously at all. I’m just like, “Yeah, you’re right, you look gigantic, you need to lay off those boiled bits of chicken you’ve been eating because have you seen your arse?” And they’re the size of a blinking pin. I’m no stranger to the occasional dodgy juice, but it doesn’t taste very nice and it is bloody boring. It’s not a way to live.’
Her friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio: ?I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing. It?s so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did. He always saw me as one of the boys; I?ve never really been a girly-girl. We needed each other to lean on because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours and it was a shock to the system.?
Turning 40 just after Leo: “He’s 40 this year and I’m 40 next ? that’s weird. Isn’t that weird? He wouldn?t have a joint party with me, he really wouldn’t. Definitely not. He likes to have his moments. But, also I don’t think I’d want to have a joint party with him, more to the bloody point!?

How many times did she say ?bloody? or ?arse? or ?blinking?? It?s like elegant Kate Winslet is trying to be accepted as someone ?downstairs? at Downton Abbey. As for her complaints about her skin? she?s always had great skin. Even when she was a teenager, she had great skin. It wasn?t just Photoshopping in magazines either ? she?s always had that rosy-cheeked glow in films and TV. I don?t know why it?s so hard to just say, ?Yeah, I?ve had good skin most of my life, I?m lucky.? And I really don?t get the Leo stuff at all. Why is she still talking about him? This is the most random interview.

Stepping out for a night of fashion, Kate Winslet attended the Nouvelle Vague by Lancome party last evening (July 9) in Paris.
Gorgeous in a curve hugging cobalt blue dress, the "Divergent" actress accessorized her look with gold heels and a black clutch.
Though she is attending soirees as part of Paris Fashion Week: Haute Couture, the British beauty has her hands full with work as well.
Kate is currently working on three movies "The Dressmaker," "Insurgent" and "Triple Nine."

Here are some photos of Kate Winslet and her husband Ned Rocknroll at the Prix de Diane Longines 2014 in Chantilly, France yesterday. Considering how few celebrities were at this event, I suspect it was a paid gig for Winslet ? a nice check, plus a generous hotel suite for Kate and Ned. Not bad for a few hours of ?work? watching? horse racing, I guess.
For the event, Kate wore this absolutely terrible ensemble. I think she was aiming for simply, clean minimalism, which would have been fine except that nothing worked. The dress is Narciso Rodriguez Resort 2014 ? this looks like a white t-shirt underneath a black tube dress. That?s probably how it?s supposed to look, like a super-chic version. But it just looks cheap. Then Kate went with this Philip Treacy hat that, I?m sorry, makes her look like Cruella de Vil.
As for Ned? I just don?t know. The last time she spoke about him, back in May, she tried to ?hit back? at people who are judgmental about his name. Except that she didn?t even like the Rocknroll name enough to give it to their child, Bear Blaze Winslet (the only one of her children without their father?s name). But Kate did recently tell The Mail that Ned is ?absolutely incredible and he looks after all of us.? Ned does the school run with the children. So? he?s a bit like Casper Smart, I think.

Kate Winslet covers the June issue of Harper?s Bazaar (US). I believe this is her first major photoshoot since giving birth to son Bear Blaze Winslet (Bear Blaze RockNRoll!). The shoot is okay, but I feel like Winslet has gone back to the ?Tox since giving birth. Pregnancy softened her face last year, but now she?s back to looking sort of frozen and arch. Maybe it?s just Photoshop. Maybe. Anyway, you can read the interview here, and here are some highlights:
Going to LA to promote Divergent: “It’s a very strange place to be because the truth is, I’m not famous until I am in those moments. Those are the times when I am suddenly famous. My real life is a very real life. And I know I say this all the time, but it’s really true. Thank God.”
Getting her nails done for the Bazaar shoot: “I know it sounds very self-effacing because people say, ‘Oh, you’re a film star. People probably come to your house to do it.’ But I don’t have the time to get my nails done apart from when I’m doing a photo shoot.”
Her husband Ned RockNRoll: “Nobody knows him?it’s brilliant. They like to think they know him. They like to be judgmental because of his name and everything, but it’s fabulous because no one knows anything about him.”
The fire on Richard Branson’s Necker Island: “We really could have died,” she recalls. “The house burned to the ground.” Winslet rescued Branson’s mother, Eve. “I carried her out of the house and down some very slippery stone steps. Lucky she’s tiny!” She gives a wry smile. “She’s my son’s great-grandmother now, so it’s such a strange thing to talk about.”
Naming her son Bear Blaze: “We had to get the fire thing in there somewhere.”
Aging: “I’m quite excited about it, actually. I really enjoy getting older. You just don’t worry as much.”
Working for Lancme: “Working with them does a huge amount for my self-esteem, I’ve got to tell you.”
Her career: “It’s time to get back. Back to the ‘I don’t f–k around,’ back to the KW basics of take some serious risks, put yourself out there. And just really push it.”

Is anyone else amused that she refers to herself as ?KW? in the third person? I like that. Other than that? yeah, this wasn?t the most epic interview or anything. I think she just got the cover because she?s promoting Lancome and she wanted to talk about her marriage and baby. So, do you believe that Ned is this wonderful guy that no one really knows? Or is he just some relative of someone rich that sort of fell into KW?s path? I think the answer to that question can be found in her son?s name: if Kate really believed in Ned?s whole deal, why wouldn?t they give Bear his father?s last name? It?s because deep down, Kate knows that Ned RockNRoll is sort of embarrassing.

Here are some photos from last night?s LA premiere of Divergent, the new franchise that is trying to make Shailene Woodley?s sunshine vagina into the next Jennifer Lawrence (good luck with that). I?m just talking fashion here! I?ll let Bedhead discuss the intricacies of Shailene?s endless hippie musings.
So, let?s start the fashion talk with Kate Winslet in this SAFiYAA Spring 2014. I?ve never heard of this label (have you?), but it reminds me strongly of the Stella McCartney illusion dresses that Winslet wore endlessly a few years ago. The color is meh on her, her styling is kind of rough (what?s with her hair?), but I?ll give her some credit: I like that she went figure-skimming even though she?s recently had a baby. She?s embracing her motherly figure and it?s nice.
As for Shailene, she wore this Elie Saab gown which? I don?t know, I don?t hate it. It seems like a typical gown for a girl premiering her first big starring role. Elie Saab gets a lot of shade for making red carpet-ready glittery gowns, but I think they do it well and the gowns are very wearable and flattering. I guess my complaint here is this gown seems a bit to mature for Shailene.
Kiernan Shipka in Valentino ? Kiernan isn?t in the movie, she just came to the premiere for fun. It would have been cool if Shailene had worn this, right?
Ashley Judd was there too?wearing Elie Saab as well. See, Elie Saab works on a woman Judd?s age. This is pretty.
And finally?. OMG. Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet. Look at how this beast towers over her. Look at how beautiful he is. Look at how beautiful she is. Damn.

When news came out that Kate Winslet named her son Blaze Bear Winslet, everyone sort of scratched their heads and wondered if it was because a bear was her power animal. Turns out it sort of is. She told Ellen,
?A friend of mine when I was younger was nicknamed Bear, and I just had always really loved it,? says the Divergent star. ?He was very much a bear. He was everyone?s shoulder to cry on, he was a big bear hug, he was just this great figure in my life, and I just always remembered him.?
As for Blaze? It’s after the fire she escaped. The same weekend she met her husband of an equally confounding name, Ned Rocknroll.
?The house burned down and we survived,? she says. ?But we wanted something of the fire, and so Blaze was the name that we came up with.?
Why did she give him the last name of Winslet and not Rocknroll though?
?Why do you think, Ellen??
I don’t know. Because you’re not AWESOME?! You’re already 2/3 of the way there in the questionable naming department. Why not go the full 100%? Kate Winslet seems a bit lacking in commitment.

She?s in the States to accept her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Kate Winslet found time to pay a visit to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show? for an interview to air today (March 18).
The ?Titanic? actress was in good spirits as she discussed the unusual moniker she and husband Ned Rocknroll chose for their son Bear.
Kate noted, "A friend of mine when I was younger was nicknamed Bear and I just had always really loved it. And he was very much a bear. He was everyone?s shoulder to cry on he was a big bear hug, he was a great figure in my life and I just had always remembered him and so that?s where it came from.?
"When I was pregnant with Mia and when I was pregnant with Joe, I didn't name them before they came out because I always felt like I just have to see them and see who they're going to be. But of course, this time around there's Mia and Joe and the whole pregnancy is about what are we going to call the baby. So it was really lovely actually, they were very much included and we settled on Bear quite early on.?
Winslet added, ?And then Bear?s second name is Blaze because my husband and I met in a house fire basically," referring to the fire on Necker Island in 2011 when they were both vacationing at Sir Richard Branson?s private estate.

Here are some photos of Kate Winslet getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. I believe the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars are bought by the studios at this point and the ?star ceremony? timed for film promotion. Winslet did about a week of work on Divergent, so that?s what she?s promoting, just FYI. Shailene Woodley was at the Walk of Fame ceremony, as was Kathy Bates.
Kate looks good, doesn?t she? But I always like her more when she looks ?softer? ? I think she stopped doing the Botox during her pregnancy last year and I hope she never goes back. She looks so much younger now post-pregnancy. Her youngest, son Bear Blaze, is 14 weeks old. Winslet appeared on The Ellen Show yesterday to talk Divergent, the Walk of Fame and Kate?s new husband and baby:
Kate confirms that yes, she named her baby BEAR BLAZE WINSLET. And I love how Ellen really presses her on marrying a man who changed his name to Ned RockNRoll. I can feel Ellen?s judgment from here, and I?m right there with Ellen. I feel like Winslet is a little bit embarrassed too ? Kate explains that Ned changed his name before they had even met and Ellen asks if Kate would have approved of the name change if she had gotten a say in it. When Kate is talking about the baby?s name, Kate confirms that Bear?s surname is Winslet not RockNRoll and Ellen is basically like, ?Well, that answers that.?
