Getting ready for a day?s worth of shooting, Kate Winslet was spotted on set of ?Mildred Pierce? in Queens, New York on Wednesday (June 2).
The English actress looked to be deep in conversation while sporting shorts, a long-sleeved top and some shades in between takes.
In the 1930s-set drama, Kate stars as the title character, a single mother in middle-class Los Angeles during the Great Depression who is trying to earn her daughter Veda?s love, played by Evan Rachel Wood.
Kate and Evan will be teaming up again in a future film called the ?Splatter Sisters,? which is set to be a ?sexploitation-serial-killer-slasher-road-movie circa 1989.?

Getting back to work on the set of ?Mildred Pierce,? Kate Winslet was spotted in Queens, New York City on Wednesday (May 26).
Decked out in full wardrobe, the Academy Award winning actress got herself into character and knocked out several scenes for the upcoming film.

While many of the actresses in Hollywood rely on plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures to stay youthful and super-hot, Kate Winslet says she?s just not interested.
The ?Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? babe recently told press she won?t be going under the knife because she loves her looks just the way they are.
?I don?t want to judge, but it?s not for me. I would never adjust any part of my face; I just absolutely wouldn?t do it. But I also feel all that stuff is a bit scary: does anyone know the long-term effects of Botox or these filler things??
?It?s all so upsetting. That?s why I find myself talking about Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep, these beautiful women who are ageing gracefully. And Judi Dench and Helen Mirren ? look at those women! And, guess what everybody? They?re working! And why? Because their faces still move. I just can?t imagine ever paralyzing any part of my face.?

Back for the second day of work on her new gig, Kate Winslet was in full costume on the New York City set of "Mildred Pierce" on Monday (April 19).
The recently divorced Oscar-winning actress looked focused as she plugged away at the five-hour miniseries being directed by Todd Haynes.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, the HBO production is about " a divorced single mom named Mildred Pierce, who decides to open a restaurant business during the depression, which threatens to damage her already-strained relationship with her ambitious eldest daughter, Veda."
Also starring Evan Rachel Wood and Guy Pearce, the series is scheduled to hit HBO sometime in 2011.

Doing her best to move past her divorce woes, Kate Winslet was back in work mode in New York City on Sunday (April 18).
Dressed up in costume, the Oscar winning actress busily shot scenes for her brand new HBO project titled "Mildred Pierce".
The series is is about " a divorced single mom named Mildred Pierce, who decides to open a restaurant business during the depression, which threatens to damage her already-strained relationship with her ambitious eldest daughter, Veda."
"Mildred Pierce" is the first work gig that Kate has taken part in since announcing the end of her seven-year marriage to Sam Mendes last month.

They may be on the outs romantically speaking, but Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes are dedicated to keeping things friendly for their kids.
The ?Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? babe and her ex-hubby took Joe and Mia Honey for a family outing in New York City this morning (April 7) as the paparazzi looked on.
In a recent interview, Kate confessed to feeling horrible when the press criticized her for employing nannies for her kids while she worked.
"I don't feel guilty about working now, earlier I did, but that was largely to do with the press. They said, 'She's off and the child gets left behind.' You just want to kill yourself when you read those things."
"I don't ever have them (the kids) hang out in the trailer, because I don't like the notion that they are sort of beholden to my schedule. I'd rather, you know, give them a big kiss in the morning before I go off to work."

I think this is what divorcing couples should aim for - forget the bullsh-t, and just focus on the kids and having a cordial relationship. Easier said than done, I know. But here are Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet giving it the old college try today, as they take their kids to school in New York. This photo op comes not a moment too soon, because the British tabloids (and to a lesser extent, the American tabloids) had Winslet in a state of frenzy, sobbing on Emma Thompson?s shoulder and screaming at the ocean, all while trying to seduce her dearest friend, Leo DiCaprio. Meanwhile, Sam Mendes was portrayed as a douche who dumped his beautiful wife for either a younger version (Rebecca Hall) or the old girlfriend who he just couldn?t stop thinking about (Rachel Weisz). She’s has an Oscar to her name but Kate Winslet’s acting skills were really put to the test as she reunited with estranged husband Sam Mendes today. The 34-year-old managed to raise a convincing smile as the pair staged a united front for the sake of the children.
She emerged from her New York apartment holding the hand of her nine-year-old Mia, from her first marriage to assistant director Jim Threapleton. Director Sam, 44, followed close behind with their son Joe, 6, in tow.
The pair piled into the same car and proceeded to drop the children to school.
It is the first time they have been seen together since they announced the end of their almost seven year marriage last month.
The triplex property, where they lived for six years, is in the city’s affluent Chelsea district and is said to have been put on the market for 3.9million. Sam is believed to be living in an office that he has in the building, while Kate and the two children have remained in the three-bedroom, three-storey flat at the top of the building.
Kate has spoken of her desire to move back to England to be closer to friends and family, but has been staying in Manhattan while she films Mildred Pierce, a mini series for the HBO channel.
The five-part series is based on the the 1941 Jame M. Cain novel about a woman who leaves her unemployed husband and re-builds her life.
Kate has maintained a dignified silence since her split from Sam, but on Saturday, the Daily Mail’s Katie Nicholl reported that she is angry that he has got back in touch with his ex-girlfriend Rachel Weisz.
Sam has been widely tipped to direct the new James Bond movie and, according to industry sources, is determined to cast Rachel, 40, as one of the villains.
A source said: ‘As soon as Kate and Sam split, he was on the phone asking Rachel if she was interested in doing the movie. Rachel has always been persona non grata in the Winslet-Mendes household, and Kate went ballistic when she heard that Sam wanted to hire her.?
‘Sam has wanted to work with Rachel for ages, but Kate would not allow it. Although they ran in the same Hollywood circles, they avoided each other.’

This joint appearance makes me like Sam and Kate even more, and it makes me question so many of the reports about Sam cheating on Kate. Now, he could have really cheated on her - but if he did, he and Kate are working through it with grace. They look cute with their kids too.

A gal pal told press, ?Kate really wants to leave the apartment. She sees it as a house of horrors because of the fights she and Sam had there. She feels it?s tainted.?
Additionally, Kate has been seeking comfort in her longtime friend and costar Leonardo DiCaprio. ?Since Kate?s marriage problems started, around the time they were filming Revolutionary Road, they?ve got closer again. Kate feels like she can tell Leonardo anything.?
