Kate Winslet isn?t really my favorite person in the world, but I?ve been able to maintain some goodwill for her. I think she?s a talented actress, I think she?s smart and interesting, and I genuinely enjoy that her weight fluctuates through the years, like many (non-celebrity) women. What I don?t enjoy so much? I don?t like that she seems to be lying about the cosmetic work she?s done to her face. And I didn?t really care for her whirlwind post-divorce romance with that vague-looking male model. The whole thing seemed beneath her and like she was aiming at ?revenge? on her ex, Sam Mendes, but a girl?s gotta have her fun, I guess.
But I draw the line at his. This will make me hate Kate. Star Magazine reports that Winslet has had some ?secret? hookups with? JOHN MAYER. He?s a predator, you know, and he loves to get a girl right after she?s had some kind of major breakup. Emotional vulnerability is his aphrodisiac.
Kate Winslet is trying her best to keep her steamy new hookup under wraps. But the newly single Oscar winner, 35, has been secretly spending time with notorious ladies? man John Mayer, 33, Star has learned!
?A few weeks ago, John was at a party in Manhattan when he ran into Kate. He really put the moves on her, and Kate eventually responded,? says an insider. ?She?s just having fun - and she?s begging him not to blab.?

Now, do I believe this? Ugh. I want to think that Winslet would never. She would never go there, right? RIGHT? She?s too smart for this, isn?t she? Why it might be happening though: Winslet has been coming across as? kind of vulnerable and kind of desperate. Also: lately, the tabloids have putting Mayer with every semi-available woman, like Sandra Bullock and Miley Cyrus. I don?t believe most of those alleged hookups? which doesn?t mean I?m giving Mayer any credit. At all. I think he just prefers to screw groupies and not even try for the celebrity women at this point.
To her credit - Winslet’s rep denied (to Gossip Cop) that Kate and John were happening, and even denied that they had ever met. Publicists and representatives lie all the time, of course, but I’d like to believe Winslet’s rep this time. Because the thought of John Mayer getting Winslet to talk to his David Duke dong in the third person, or the thought of Mayer boning Winslet while his music plays? Jesus. My biscuits just closed up shop.

First of all, The Daily Mail is making a huge deal about how Kate Winslet was airbrushed to within an inch of her life in these Lancome print ads. Obviously, that happens, but given that Kate still looks like a version of her natural self, the airbrushing doesn?t offend me like it does when it?s, like, Megan Fox for Armani. Plus, I?m still kind of wondering if Kate?s seemingly odd face in the ads isn?t a combination of airbrushing and Botox/fillers.
That?s not all, though. If you need a really good laugh, check out Kate?s commercial for Lancome:
This is an Oscar-winning actress!! That was the best/worst fake laugh EVER.
Anyway, I guess the British tabloids are having a field day because the old Winslet, circa 2003, would have bitched and moaned and demanded that she be photographed normally, wrinkles and all. But the new, fancy Kate likes her face looking as unlined as a baby?s.

These are two photos from Kate Winslet?s cover shoot with the April issue of Vogue UK. Mario Testino did the shots - and I really, really hate them. HER HAIR. I?m sure that?s a wig and everything, but whoever styled this junk is just wrong. Kate is such a beautiful woman - she doesn?t need to be jacked up in a platinum wig, and she doesn?t need to mess with her face either. Ugh, just let Kate be Kate. Anyway, there are some interview excerpts leaking out from the cover profile - Kate talks about her divorce from Sam Mendes, and she seems? pretty healthy, I guess.
Kate on her single status: ?(It’s an) empowering thing… Experiencing those moments of being alone… is a very, very weird flooring and exposing position to be in when you’re just not used to it. And it’s not just being in a relationship. It’s also the fact that I grew up in a family full of people.”
On having her own space: “I’ve never been lonely. And with kids Mia and Joe that remains the case. But to be in this place now where I can say I really like this space. I really need to not have anyone around. It’s a surprise to discover that I like being on my own.”
On refusing to do therapy after her split: “One of the reasons I’ve never done intensive psychotherapy or any of that stuff is that if there’s anything in me that needs fixing, I want to know that I can rely on my own intuition to fix it.”

Taken with Kate?s interview in the April Glamour Magazine, where Kate claimed that she was doing fine, and that she hadn?t had anything ?surgical? done to her face, I tend to think that Kate?s attitude after her divorce from Sam Mendes is pretty good, although she?s really TRYING to sound like she?s doing well. I give her credit for staying so upbeat and not drowning herself in a pity party, and I give her credit for not attacking Sam Mendes too. I believe that she?s honestly happy where she is right now, BUT - I also think she?s used to having a man. She?s one of those women - she?s always had a boyfriend or a husband, and this is maybe the first time she?s been without a relationship in more than a decade. She?s adjusting. And I?m glad she isn?t focused on jumping into another relationship right away.

This time last year, I had convinced myself that Kate Winslet had gotten some subtle work done. Nothing too major - she was nowhere near Nicole Kidman territory. I didn?t think Kate touched her eyes or her mouth, but there did seem to be some tightness on her forehead and around her mouth that could have been Botox or fillers, in my opinion. Anyway, I think Kate stopped doing it (if she ever was) because she?s back to looking normal. These are photos of her appearance last night n Paris at an event for Vogue. She looks? good. Kind of boring, but not ?tight?.
As I mentioned a few days ago, Kate told Glamour Magazine (in their April issue) that she ?never? tried anything. Her words: ?My face is still moving, right? No, I have never tried any of that stuff?. I don?t have parts of my body that I hate or would like to trade for somebody else?s or wish I could surgically adjust into some fantasy version of what they are.? Do you believe her? Coming from the version of Kate with a normal face, I do believe her. But if she had said it a year ago with her eyebrows seemingly frozen into a ?surprised? look, I would have thought something different. Here?s what I really think: I think Kate would never get something done that was permanent. No facelifts, no eye jobs, no nips or tucks. But maybe she is one of those women who doesn?t consider a little Botox and/or fillers to be ?plastic surgery? (notice Kate’s emphasis on “surgical”). If it goes away in a few weeks, why not claim that you?ve never had anything done? Oh, right. You?re still participating in this “fantasy version” of natural aging.

She?s one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, but Kate Winslet says it wasn?t always an easy road.
The ?Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? actress paid a visit to the Starmaker Theatre Company to share her experiences with the young aspiring actors there.
Kate spoke of her shortcomings, including being overweight and having big feet, and how hard it was for her to score lead roles.
She also encouraged the young thespians to continue to pursue their dreams, reminding them that ?anything is possible.?

The ?Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? actress looked cute and casual as she exited Scotts Restaurant with an unidentified male friend.
Kate is enjoying some time in Mother England for the holidays while her kids are back in the States for school.
Coming up in March, Kate will be busy promoting her new HBO project ?Mildred Pierce.? She also has several other projects in the pipeline.

Sad news! British papers are reporting that Kate Winslet and her boyfriend of four months, Louis Dowler, are over. Dowler was/is a popular British model, aged 35, who is friends with the likes of David Gandy (CB mentioned that she would like to see Louis and Gandy makeout). Louis was Kate?s first boyfriend after splitting for her husband Sam Mendes in March of this year. Kate and Louis got together quickly, and almost instantly began showing up for red carpets and candid shots together - they looked nice together, but I think many of us felt like Kate was just hittin? it with her hot piece and that it wasn?t a true love connection. The Daily Mirror theorizes that Kate was the one to call it off, because she wanted to focus on her career and her children.
Kate Winslet has parted from boyfriend Louis Dowler after just four months of dating.
The Revolutionary Road actress, 35, separated from her film director husband Sam Mendes in March and hoped to have found a new life with model Louis.
But despite being “very grateful” to the hunk, the pair are thought to have broken up so Kate can “concentrate on her career and children”.
A source said yesterday: “Louis was just what Kate needed after her split from Sam and they had a wonderful time which helped her move on.”
When asked about the break up, Louis, 35, said: “Unfortunately, I don’t talk about my private life.”

Sad. But Kate will bounce back. But will she bounce back with a hotter piece? Personally, I doubt it. Kate doesn?t seem obsessed with looks, and I see her ending up with some kind of power-player, like Sam Mendes. Perhaps a producer or another director. As for Louis, God knows. Maybe my lover David Gandy will bring Louis over to my house so I can cook for them, and then they?ll show me their Thanksgiving Dongs.
Also - this just occurred to me - you know how Rachel Weisz is single now? Remember, Rachel dated Sam Mendes just before Kate Winslet got with him - is anyone else feeling a Weisz-Mendes reunion? God knows, that junk with Daniel Craig probably won’t last.

Stepping out on her special day, Kate Winslet was spotted out for a birthday shopping session in New York City on Tuesday (October 5),
Turning 35-years-old today, the "Titanic" actress was joined by her cute kiddies, Mia and Joe, while picking up a few purchases in the West Village.
Having been quite the life-changing past twelve months, Miss Winslet split from husband Sam Mendes while moving on to a new beau, British model Louis Dowler.
As for her career, Kate is next lined up to shoot the Steven Soderbergh directed movie titled "Contagion" - which hits theaters on October 21, 2011.
Boasting quite the impressive cast including Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow, the action-thriller is "centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak."
