Scarlett Johansson as a sexy alien seductress? Who’s going to believe that?!
Well, probably everybody, which is why the pouty-lipped thesp is attached to star in the sci-fi thriller Under the Skin, playing a gorgeous E.T. who eats men for breakfast, according to trade reports.
Like, literally.
At some point, though, Johansson’s coldly efficient character starts feeling warmer and fuzzier toward her human prey, and ends up battling her own kind for the last word in planetary dominance.
“Taking her point of view throughout, the film presents a unique look at our world through alien eyes,” is how FilmNation presented the project to the American Film Market.
Sexy Beast’s Jonathan Glazer cowrote the script, based on the Michel Faber novel, and is set to direct the film starting in late spring 2011.

She?s always open to new roles, and Scarlett Johansson has reportedly signed on to play an alien hottie in an upcoming Sci-Fi drama.
The ?He?s Just Not That Into You? actress will star in ?Under the Skin,? from writer-director Jonathan Glazer of ?Sexy Beast Fame.?
According to a report, ?Johansson plays an alien on earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey -- her voracious sexuality.?
?She is deadly efficient, but over time becomes drawn to and changed by the complexity of life on earth. With this new found humanity and weakening alien resolve, she finds herself on a collision course with her own kind. Taking her point of view throughout, the film presents a unique look at our world through alien eyes.?

Sure, you could cut your glorious mane of long blond hair off. You could also tape down your breasts and shave off your eyebrows and starting rubbing your armpits with Gouda instead of deodorant. Just because you CAN do it doesn’t mean you should do it. I’m looking at you, Scarlett Johansson.

God, I feel tired just looking at Scarlett Johansson in these photos. She was in Madrid to promote Mango, the co-sponsor of the Spanish Fashion Awards, because she?s the corpsey face of the Mango label and has been for a couple of years. I usually hate her Mango ads because they tend to de-emphasize what is pretty about ScarJo, and leave her looking like some grey, frozen corpse, which I personally don?t find attractive, and I don?t think it helps sell clothes. So the idea was already in my head: ScarJo + Mango = Corpsey. So it?s not shocking when she shows up at this event looking like hell.
Hell for ScarJo, obviously. Not the ?hell? in which normal people often look like. She just looks exhausted, and this haircut - once considered cute - if kind of offensive in its badness now. It just looks like a stringy mess. ScarJo looks totally out of it too. Like she needs a nap. Shocking, because that?s normally how I feel when I look at her. She?s so? over-hyped.
I think I?ve mentioned in other posts that I recently saw Iron Man 2, but I don?t think I?ve discussed my thoughts on ScarJo. Um? was anyone else expecting something completely different from her role? The way her part was being promoted and all of the hype around it, I thought she was going to have a major role, and she just didn?t. She was just there until her big fight scene, and that was completely boring too, just boring in a different way. Ugh. I?m kind of over ScarJo.

Tending to her spokesmodel obligations, Scarlett Johansson was front and center at the 3rd edition of the Mango Fashion Awards held at the MNAC in Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday (October 20).
The "Iron Man 2" actress looked fashionably fabulous as she helped dote an honorary Mango button to famed designer Jean Paul Gaulthier during the ceremony proceedings.
Meanwhile, Miss Johansson has recently been brought up as the top choice to replace Natalie Portman in the upcoming project "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."
If she opts in, ScarJo would play leading lady Elizabeth Bennett to Bradley Cooper's Mr. Darcy, while directors Neil Marshall, David Slade and Mike Newell have been tossed around as possible directors.

Making the most of her time overseas, Scarlett Johansson was spotted strolling around Barcelona, Spain yesterday (October 18).
The ?In Good Company? actress hit up several shops for some retail therapy, looking snazzy in a grey fedora with a matching cardigan and black sunglasses.
And though Scarlett?s husband Ryan Reynolds was nowhere to be found, she was accompanied by a tall handsome mystery man to keep her safe.
Ms. Johansson is said to be in Barcelona to shoot a new fashion campaign for the uber-trendy label Mango.

I don’t know what Mango is, but I’m glad that Scarlett Johansson decided to put on some sexy outfits and show off her own nicely ripened mangos. Obviously these are for some sort of lame clothing line, almost as lame as that mango joke, but she’s a hot piece of ass

She?s always up for a challenge, and it seems Scarlett Johansson is a favorite for the remake of ?The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.?
According to an inside source, the ?In Good Company? babe is definitely interested in the gig, and she?d be an awesome fit.
?If he (director David Fincher) doesn?t go with an unknown, Scarlett is a shoo-in for the role. And she wants it bad.?
Until then, Johansson says she?s got plenty of shopping to do. ?I don?t have the busiest agenda. I?m just an actress for hire. So I have months and months where I just sit around and wait for jobs. There?s always time for shopping.?

Scarlett Johannson and Ryan Reynolds have more than just a two-year wedding anniversary (in September) to celebrate: they’ve also got a deluxe new love nest!
The Hollywood couple recently purchased a two-bedroom, three-bath house in the L.A. area. Recently listed at approximately $2.8 million, the property features chic, mid-century design, a swimming pool and stunning vista views.
Reps for both actors had no comment.
