You can’t go wrong with a few shots of Scarlett Johansson in a low cut dress. Here she is promoting her Avengers movie somewhere giving us a pretty quality look at those sweet soft pectorals. Alright so they’re not as prominently displayed as I’d like them, touching her forearms together in front of her body

Scarlett Johansson covers the latest issue of Vogue and tells the mag that she’s still not over Ryan Reynolds even though she dated Sean Penn even before their divorce was finalized.
Johansson describes it as ?comically amicable,? but the parting was far from painless. ?It was horrible,? she says. ?Of course it?s horrible. It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn?t work out.
?This was something I never thought I would be doing,? she continues. ?And there?s no way to navigate it. Nobody can give you the right answer. It?s never anything you want to hear. It?s a very lonely thing. It?s like the loneliest thing you?ll ever do, in some way.?
She says she is still recovering and doesn?t pretend the divorce is fully in the rearview. ?I don?t feel on the other side of it completely, but it gets better,? she says. ?It?s still there. More than anything, it?s just that not having your buddy around all the time is weird. There?s no rule book. I think it?s just time.?
Granted, Ryan Reynolds probably put that divorce in his rear view when he saw that photo of Scarlett with her foot in Sean Penn’s crotch and read about how they sickeningly made out at the White House Correspondents Dinner. It’s probably why he rebounded with Blake Lively who seems like a lot of “fun.”

Scarlett Johansson is the May cover girl for Vogue. Much like Charlize Theron?s recent appearance on Vogue UK, it seems like the default-setting for fashion editors these days is, ?Eh, just put a blonde on the cover and style her like Grace Kelly.? How does ScarJo do with Grace Kelly-styling (as opposed to her usual Marilyn Monroe styling)? It?s okay. Actually, I think this is one of the most boring Vogue editorials ever. Not even the leopard saves this junk. I?m actually putting some of the blame on ScarJo – considering the girl gets SO many modeling contracts, I expect more from her as a photographic subject, and she consistently fails to deliver. You can read the whole Vogue piece here – ScarJo is taking cooking lessons! Because Blake Lively loves to cook. Sorry! I just thought I would mention that. Here are some highlights from the piece:
Being older: ?It feels like a lifetime ago,? Johansson says. ?Am I happy I?m not 20 anymore? Yeah. Nineteen? I don?t want to be that age. It?s incredibly confusing.?
Working with Woody Allen: ?I forged this unbelievable friendship with somebody who saw the potential in me at that age,? Johansson says. She would later work with Allen on Scoop and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. ?Not that the parts he wrote weren?t sexy, but they had substance to them.?
Marrying Ryan Reynolds: ?We always kept our story private?how we met, our wedding, everything,? she says. ?It was about us.?
The divorce: Johansson describes it as ?comically amicable,? but the parting was far from painless. ?It was horrible,? she says. ?Of course it?s horrible. It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn?t work out. This was something I never thought I would be doing,? she continues. ?And there?s no way to navigate it. Nobody can give you the right answer. It?s never anything you want to hear. It?s a very lonely thing. It?s like the loneliest thing you?ll ever do, in some way.?
She?s almost wistful about it: ?I?m not saying more time in the marriage, but just having more time with my ex and really clocking those hours of face time with the person you love, really live together and not having the pressure of two people that have these careers. . . .? She has no regrets about getting married; she describes the experience with genuine affection. ?It was a beautiful thing,? Johansson says. ?The falling in love and getting married and making that commitment . . . I think it?s nice to know that you?re capable of loving somebody in that way. I think it?s a rare opportunity.? She says she is still recovering and doesn?t pretend the divorce is fully in the rearview. ?I don?t feel on the other side of it completely, but it gets better,? she says. ?It?s still there. More than anything, it?s just that not having your buddy around all the time is weird. There?s no rule book. I think it?s just time.?
On Sean Penn: ?We spent time together, yeah,? she says. ?I never put a title on it, really, but we were seeing each other.? She says she was startled by the amount of media attention the pairing received. ?In my marriage, funnily enough, we had relative privacy,? she says, but the fuss over her and Penn ?was a little bit of an adjustment.? She says she and Penn have remained friends, and she praises his extensive relief work in Haiti. ?He?s a remarkable person,? she says. ?He really is.?
Being hacked: ?It wasn?t just me,? Johansson says. ?It was others. I don?t want to be a victim and say, ?Oh, well? and just hide my head in shame. Somebody stole something from me. . . . It?s sick. I don?t want people like that to slide.? The incident clearly still rattles her. ?When all those photos came out, of course I go out to dinner and think, Goddamn it, these people have all seen my. . . .? Johansson?s voice trails off. ?That?s terrible. You know what I mean? You can?t not think that. Even if they haven?t, you?re paranoid. I don?t want pity,? she says. Her solution, she says, was ?tuning it all out??to stop paying attention to the gossip and the endless churn of celebrity coverage. She says she had never paid much attention to it before, but she imposed a strict blackout. ?I have to say I?m way happier because of it,? she says. ?It?s nice. It allows me, I think, to be more creative. It?s nice not to be so self-aware.?
On playing Black Widow: ?Female superheroes normally are superlame.? Natasha/Black Widow ?is kind of gray. I like that about her.?
The most beautiful man in the world: Lately, Johansson has been dating a New York?based advertising creative director named Nate Naylor; they?ve been photographed by the paparazzi on the Manhattan streets and vacationing in Hawaii?the actress and the real-life Don Draper. Seeing someone out of the public eye may be a comparatively tranquil experience for Johansson, but for her new beau, dating a celebrity has been a real change. Johansson seems amused by how well Naylor has dealt with the sudden attention. ?It must be very strange for him,? she says, smiling. ?It?s totally bizarre. It?s an adjustment?I mean, it?s got to be an adjustment for him way more than it was for me at nineteen. But he?s really remarkably good about it.?
[From Vogue]
Is it okay if the divorce stuff doesn?t interest me at all? I?m kind of over talking about Ryan and Scar together or apart. But I do think it?s interesting that she commented on the Sean Penn thing – remember, it?s said that Sean pretty much dumped her after their whirlwind affair. I also think the Nate Naylor stuff is good – of course he?s adjusted to dating a celebrity – he thinks he?s a celebrity too! After all, he?s the most beautiful man ever.

Last night was the LA premiere of The Avengers, and before I write up all of the hot dudes that were there (Skarsgard, Downey, Hiddleston, Renner, et al), let?s just have a moment where we talk about ?the girl? in the movie, Scarlett Johansson. Scar is playing Black Widow, obviously, and after releasing several trailers in which Black Widow was not allowed to speak, a Black Widow-centric clip of the film was finally released. And it was very jiggly. Now, Black Widow may or may not kick major ass in the film. But I kind of think Scarlett was just hired because without her, the whole thing would have just been a balls-out sausage party.
So, did Scarlett dress the part of ?the T&A? for the premiere? Scarlett wore this Versace gown, and I swear she?s worn a similar dress in white at some point. I remember this silhouette on her. I?m not crazy about the dress, honestly. It?s not actively bad, but it doesn?t do much for Scarlett?s figure – beyond making her look really slender. I feel like she?s lost so much weight over the past year. I do love that she?s back to this dirty-blonde, though. It suits her more than any other hair color. And her makeup looks good here too.

| Scarlett Johansson Hosts Stringer Campaign Fundraiser | Added 12 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

She's been quite active in the political arena as of late, and Scarlett Johansson spent Thursday night (April 5) hosting a Scott M. Stringer 2013 Mayoral Campaign Fundraiser in New York City.
The "We Bought a Zoo" actress joined alongside the Borough President of Manhattan at the Cabanas at the Maritime while welcoming guests in hopes of raking in a little extra cash for the upcoming election.
Previously voicing just why she backs Stringer, Miss Johnsson recently wrote, "Scott's passionate vision for a better New York is inspiring. We share a love for this city's diversity and culture."
Sounding quite confident that she's backing a winner, Scarlett added, "When Scott is elected mayor, New Yorkers can expect a representative who is focused on making New York a cleaner, greener city, preserving its affordability and the integrity of our varied communities."

| Scarlett Johansson's rack kicks ass in 'Avengers' clip: solid or hilarious' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Although Scarlett Johansson insists that she doesn’t think of herself at all as sexy, Hollywood still seems to have a different idea. After all, she is the token “chick” in The Avengers, which is an otherwise male-dominated gathering of superheroes. As much as I’d honestly like to admire Scarlett’s desire to be taken seriously as an actress (and I really do believe she was pretty good in Ghost World, Lost in Translation, and Match Point), it’s hard to make that argument for a starlet who has willingly suited up in a tight-fitting catsuit yet still insists that she’s holding her own by virtue of talent and without any regard to her sensual allure. Further, when Scarlett claims to have grounded her We Bought a Zoo character in reality by adopting a wide-legged stance (i.e., spreading her legs), it’s hard not to laugh. And look, she’s doing it again as Black Widow:
This is all a precursor to the latest released clip from The Avengers which features Scarlett facing off against several men while handcuffed to a chair. She ceremoniously kicks their asses, which is kind of cool, but then her stunt double flips the chair over, and the scene falls apart. Mostly, it’s the fight choreography that is doing Scar no favors here, but her boobs are also a quiver with every single, solitary breath and movement that she makes. Observe:
The scene isn’t bad as far as cheesy action flicks go, sure, but it’s hard to look at anything but that marvelous rack, which is a rather strange phenomenon because every female has boobs, yet Scarlett’s seem rather exceptional despite not really being that huge. Indeed, The Superficial has hypothesized that Scarlett was only signed on as Black Widow because of the everpresent jiggling that punctuates action sequences such as this one. Yes, this is a cynical view to take, but it’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility.
The fact of the matter is that Scarlett even signed onto Iron Man 2 for a very low-balled rate (a mere $400,000) because it virually guaranteed her a continued role within a very extensive movie franchise. This was a very smart career move. Black Widow is a huge break for Scarlett, and I can see why she fought for this role, which was probably bargained for in an attempt to break free of a failed string of commercial failures that included period dramas (The Other Boleyn Girl) and romcoms (The Nanny Diaries). It must be hard for Scarlett to acknowledge that her quivering rack secured this very important gig for her, and she will probably always be in denial in that regard. Whatever the case, she looks damn good in that catsuit.

| Scarlett Johansson on being sexy: 'I don't think of myself that way' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Scarlett Johansson always seems to land a ton of magazine covers whenever she’s doing press for a film, so prepare yourself for a ton of ScarJo news between now and May 4, which is when The Avengers arrives in theaters. I’m very much looking forward to the movie — not so much for Scarlett but mostly because of how Chris Evan’s tight little butt looks while he’s punching that bag in the second trailer. Maybe his waxed-up nips will reprise their former role too, which incidentally is what Scarlett is doing with her Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow character from Iron Man 2.
In celebration of The Avengers upcoming release, Empire magazine has issued special collector’s covers for ScarJo as well as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans. I’ve included the boys’ covers at the end of this post, but for now, here’s the poorly Photoshopped group cover. Collectively, they’re not Blue Steel-ing as hard here as during that dreadful Entertainment Weekly cover, and here are some excerpts from ScarJo’s interview:
Why Joss Whedon cast her in Avengers: “Joss said to me, ‘I want to do everything I can to keep this from being,’ in his words, ‘a sausagefest.’ I said, ‘That’s disgusting, but okay.’”
On Black Widow: “I knew that I didn’t want to play a love interest. That’s not who Widow is. I think Joss understood the importance of having a female perspective. He’s a very sensitive guy. He works really well with women. He obviously can write for them! He loves strong and independent women and he’s got a certain understanding of and an appreciation for, women who take charge of the situation, of themselves so it was clear to me that the character would not be underwritten.”
On being sexy: “I don’t know, I don’t think of myself that way. It’s alright for now. I’m convinced that obviously in a couple of years’ time it will be somebody else. I won’t be as interesting that way. I actually have not played that many sexy characters! Of course you could say the characters I played maybe in Match Point, maybe in Black Dahlia [are sexy]. But the characters I play aren’t really traditionally sexy, I don’t think. I think it’s probably a reaction to the fact that I’m curvy and confident about it, maybe. But I don’t think I was particularly sexy in Lost in Translation or particularly sexy in The Other Boleyn Girl.”
[From Empire]
C’mon, are we really supposed to believe that Scarlett isn’t the least bit flattered by “sexy” descriptors of her physical appearance? Maybe she’s really telling the truth, but it’s probably under the guise of considering herself one of those elusive “serious actress” types. At least she’s not talking about walking with her legs splayed out so that her character will be taken more seriously like she did while promoting We Bought a Zoo. Small mercies.
Scarlett also covers the May issue of Flare magazine. The cover itself is a reprint of a shot form a 2010 issue of UK Bazaar, but the interview is new even if not particularly enlightening. Scarlett does discuss how Terry Richardson shot her latest Dolce & Gabbana campaign though:
Terry Richardson did the newest D&G campaign:
“In the past those images were incredibly glamorous and had a movie star feeling to them and I think this campaign will be more intimate and natural, more like myself as opposed to a glamorous character that the boys had in mind. That kind of Anna Magnani sort of character. It’s more modern, less golden age of Hollywood.”
On her style vs. the red carpet: “I don’t really wear a lot of colourful things. I wear a lot of grey and black. I love grey and navy. I think it?s nice on the red carpet to wear things that are colourful just because I think there are more options. You can take more of a risk I suppose with colour on the red carpet.”
What will she wear for the Avengers premiere? “I’m the only girl in the film so I’m obviously going to be more aware that I’m surrounded by a bunch of suits. Everybody is going to be wearing black and grey and it will be nice to add femininity and some female sex appeal to the lineup. I think I’ll steer clear of the tuxedo.”
On design collaboration: “I’ve been very fortunate that I?ve worked with designers that are also good friends of mine. For different events, whether it’s for the Oscars or the Met ball, I’ve worked with Dolce & Gabbana to design stuff as well as my friends Roland Mouret and Stella McCartney.”
[From Flare]
Did Scarlett really just describe Uncle Terry’s mad photograpy skills as producing a “more intimate and natural” product? Ewww. Otherwise, this Flare interview is so meh. Let’s get on with those aforementioned Empire covers, shall we? May the testosterone flow, and yes, this will absolutely be a “sausagefest” of a movie.

| Scarlett Johansson is seriously pissed off that Ryan Reynolds is with Blake Lively | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
The tabloids have been trying to make the Scarlett Johansson-Ryan Reynolds-Blake Lively Uncool Triangle ?happen? for a few months. While I think there is definitely a potential for some scandal, nothing has really jumped out at me quite yet. Like, I?d really like to know if Ryan was screwing around on Scarlett with Blake when Blake and Ryan worked together on Green Lantern. I?d like to know what Scarlett really thinks of Blake being a ?TV Girl?. I?d like to know if Ryan is as a big of a douche as I seem to think he is, and why he seems to pull all of the hot girls. As of yet, the tabloids haven?t really run with any of those angles.
But there is a glimmer of hope. Us Weekly reports this week that ScarJo is really pissed off with Ryan for jumping into a real relationship with Blake. ScarJo wanted to get back with him!
Scarlett is seeing red! Ever since her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds took up with Blake Lively, ?Scarlett cut off all contact with Ryan,? reveals a source. ?She?s pissed.?
Scarlett had hoped to rekindle her romance with Ryan says the insider. When they went to an NYC concert together in September, Scarlett ?was still trying to get him back,? explains the source. But her efforts were thwarted as soon as Blake Lively began wooing him in October.
Now, ?he and Blake are very serious,? says the source, noting that Reynolds is moving to NYC for her. ?She gives Ryan a sense of home.?
[From Us Weekly, print edition]
Honestly, it strikes me that ScarJo didn?t really want to get back with Ryan – she wanted him to still be in love with her. That?s how ScarJo strikes me – it?s all about her. It?s all about who is in love with her. It?s all about how many dudes want her. She wanted Ryan to still be into her so she could have him as a backup. It?s her ego that?s hurt, not her heart. And now that Ryan and Blake are so severely loved-up, Scarlett is pissed off that Ryan has moved on with a girl who seems so much more suitable. That wasn?t supposed to happen! He was supposed to pine away for ScarJo for YEARS.
