I read a version of this story yesterday on Jezebel?s tabloid round-up, but it barely registered because it sounded more like Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn had merely had a conversation at a party, and Us Weekly was trying to make that conversation into a full-blown affair. But Us Weekly just released their online version of the ScarJo/Sean hookup, and it does sound more compelling than I realized. After all, ScarJo likes an older man (Benicio del Toro and the elevator), and God knows that she?s probably the #1 Hot Bachelorette these days, so she can have her pick of the litter. I think that?s where she found Sean too - the litter pan.
That was fast. Just weeks after announcing her split with hubby Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson, 26, has a new leading man in her life — Academy-Award winning actor Sean Penn, 50!
A source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands now) that the duo began their fling in early January when she was staying at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont while filming We Bought a Zoo with Matt Damon.
“Their first hook-up was in Scarlett’s Bungalow,” says the insider.
Nearly twice her age, the Milk star might seem an odd choice for Johansson, but the source points out that a common cause brought them together.
“Scarlett first reached to Sean when she was planning to visit Haiti with Oxfam,” says the source. “She knew Sean was living their in a tent and turned to him for advice.”
While the actress didn’t end up going on the trip, she did develop feelings for Penn (who split from wife Robin Wright after 14 years of marriage last August).
“Scarlett’s smitten with him,” the insider says.

Yeah, I doubt ScarJo is ?smitten?. Girl probably just wants to get laid, well and often. Sean?s good for a fling, I guess, although I think he?s still technically dating some model chick. But, whatever. It?s not like Sean has a reputation for being faithful. And ScarJo? well, Sean is probably a better pick than some of her other rebound hookup choices. I?d like to see her with someone really fun, though. God knows Sean isn?t Mr. Fun Times.

It?s a great time to be in love, with all of the celebrity engagements and pregnancy reports, but Jason Sudeikis and Scarlett Johansson aren?t taking a stroll down lovers? lane.
Contrary to the report by Life & Style, the ?Saturday Night Live? comedian and the ?In Good Company? hottie are just friends.
The magazine claimed that a recent dinner at Father?s Office restaurant was a full-on date, with a supposed eyewitness claiming, ?Scarlett and Jason were flirting and making lots of eye contact.?
But Scarlett?s rep told Gossip Cop, ?It was just a friendly outing amongst friends. She is not dating Jason nor is she dating anyone for that matter.?

Making for one of the most awaited arrivals, Scarlett Johansson was on-hand for the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, California on Sunday evening (January 16).
Taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the newly-single "Iron Man 2" actress looked gorgeous as she worked her way through the arrivals area before heading inside for the swanky affair.
As for the ceremony, Miss Johansson is among the star presenters while Ricky Gervais is the host for the Golden Globe Awards - which air live on NBC beginning at 8PM ET/PT.
Top contenders this time around include "The Social Network" and "The Fighter" with six nominations, while "Black Swan," "Inception" and "The Kids Are All Right" all have four.

They surprised everyone by announcing their divorce yesterday and Scarlett Johansson seems to be getting over Ryan Reynolds by chilling in the Caribbean.
The ?In Good Company? actress was spotted vacationing with a friend in Jamaica yesterday (December 14), laying on the beach and sunning herself.
And interestingly enough, Scarlett was all about reading the new Vanity Fair issue with Johnny Depp on the cover.
Meanwhile, Reynolds has been reconnecting with an ex-girlfriend. "He is seeking comfort, but not in a romantic or sexual way," says a source.

After just two years together, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have decided to end their boring marriage. They released the following statement (via Us Magazine) today:
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
So what went wrong, exactly? And who started it? Us Magazine says:
[It was] Johansson [who] initiated the split. At issue? “The big problem with their relationship is the distance,” says the source. “They spent a lot of time apart when they are working… She’s been unhappy for a while.”
“They are being very civil about it,” the source [adds] of the pair, noting that the spouses separated about two weeks ago.
I honestly don’t know why celebrities even bother getting married in the first place. They’d have a better chance at beating Street Fighter II with Ryu and Ken getting straight “perfects” all the way. Like that would ever happen!

GQ attempts to keep up its facade as a heterosexual man’s magazine by naming Scarlett Johansson “Babe of the Year” in their December issue. But then of course they fag it up by saying:
“At 26, she remains fresh-faced, curious, trying on new moods and outlets of expression as easily as she changes her hair color. This is what we love about Scarlett: that she’s game, that she’s good, that she can try on all these guises without seeming to try too hard. And all the while still seem genuinely like the observant, inquisitive (and very cute) girl in transition we fell for in Lost in Translation.”
They blew it all with that last statement. I’m sorry — what heterosexual male went and saw “Lost in Translation?” Since when does exploring cultural dislocation and emotional estrangement equal boners? The only falling a straight man would do in that movie is asleep. Next time just say something about her boobs and then shut the hell up already.

Scarlett Johansson has been named GQ?s ?Babe of the Year? - it?s like GQ?s version of saying that she?s the woman of the year, which is a lot better than their old system of recognizing the odd woman as ?Woman of the Year? or ?Obsession of the Year? on their traditionally ?Man of the Year? November or December issue. I remember Jennifer Aniston getting the WOTY title, and there being some confusion because it seemed like GQ was naming her ?Man of the Year?. So, in that frame of reference, referring to a girl as ?Babe? seems nicer, I suppose, as opposed to a ?Seriously, is this chick a hermaphrodite?? way. Eh. The full slideshow is here, at GQ. I guess ScarJo is getting recognized because of Iron Man 2, in which her part was overly hyped and really boring, and because she won a Tony for appealing on Broadway, maybe. And because she?s got big boobs and blonde hair.
By the way, I don?t mean to be nasty to GQ, who were so nice to send us these pretty hi-res images of ScarJo?s photo shoot, but the Photoshopping on ScarJo?s face is tragic. She?s a pretty girl, albeit a crappy model who only seems to know how to open her mouth and stare vacantly. But she?s pretty - there?s no reason to ?Shop her face until she looks like? who is it? A fem-bot Brigitte Bardot?

Making her third appearance as host of "Saturday Night Live," Scarlett Johansson was the celebrity guest on the long-running show's November 13th episode.
The "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" actress was introduced as she walked onstage in a dark suit, delving into her opening monologue while confessing that she's currently not promoting anything new while continuing to tell that she's been staying out of the spotlight.
Also dishing out advice to tabloid target, ScarJo was joined by Kristen Wiig as Dina Lohan and Abby Elliott as Ke$ha for a performance of "Class" from the musical "Chicago."
With Arcade Fire acting as musical guest, the low-key episode featured sketches seeing Scarlett in a "Maternity Television" guest spot, a Patti Stanger spoofing skit and a laughable jab at the new Denzel Washington flick "Unstoppable".
