Here are some of the photos from Scarlett Johansson?s cover appearance on the new issue of V Magazine. You know, one thing I like about this job is that I get to see photos from and read interviews in magazines that I would never buy. Who buys V Magazine? Who subscribes to it? I have no idea. But I do enjoy it, mainly because somebody at V Magazine got ScarJo away from the stylists and photographers who seem to have a vested interest in making her look corpsey. These V photos are lovely. Except for one thing, on the cover: Strawberry Shortcake, right?
Oh well. It?s better than corpsey. Anyway, there are some slightly interesting interview excerpts. Here?s People?s take:
Never mind her enviable bone structure, pouty lips and voluminous hair?or the weeks of hardcore training she endured to get in shape for her role as a catsuit-clad spy in Iron Man 2?Scarlett Johansson chalks up her famous good looks to her glam squad.
?Working with these incredible hair and makeup teams, you go in looking like a schmoe, and you come out like a movie star,? V magazine?s June cover star says.
The 25-year-old actress, who despite a busy schedule lighting up the Broadway stage and the big screen has found time to appear in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, Louis Vuitton, L?Oreal and Mango, says, ?You go through the works, and then you?re like this perfectly prepared sausage?no one ever sees what goes in.?
Sorry, Scarlett, while we don?t doubt the talent of your stylists and makeup artists, we?d hardly compare you to a link of kielbasa! For the full interview, pick up the June issue of V magazine, on newsstands May 11.

Just Jared also has some excerpts where Scarlett is talking about playing Black Widow in Iron Man 2. She tells the magazine: ?This is a no-bulls?t character. It?s not that she?s non-feeling, she just gets the job done. She?s part of something bigger, and she knows it. She?s this crazy badass, and she has no time for f?king around.? ScarJo also talks about the parts she?s taking now, in general: ?I?m 25, and for some time I?ve played these characters who are kind of figuring it out, transforming from young girls to young women? I don?t feel like a girl anymore And I feel like my life and career are on a different path than they had been. There?s a lot of road behind me. I feel at this point I really want to do work that is challenging to me. Not to say that I don?t look at my job and realize that I?m ridiculously fortunate, and purely an actor for hire. You never forget that it?s all so vulnerable.? Well, at least she?s not talking about how she?s a ?sensual vision? again. Thank God.

Keeping her fit and fine figure just that, Scarlett Johansson was spotted leaving a gym in West Hollywood, California on Wednesday (May 5).
Hiding her face under a hoodie and hat, the lovely actress looked to be in high spirits - showing off a big smile as she made her way to her nearby car.
While she's currently focused on promoting "Iron Man 2," which hits theaters this Friday (May 7), Scarlett recently spoke of her desire to whip up a third musical work.
Having already released two CDs, Miss Johansson tells, ?I would love to do another album. The spirit has not moved yet in that direction, but I would never put that idea out. I had such an incredible time doing Break Up and doing the Tom Waits cover album that I think there might be something in there in the future.?
And when she does get around to the project, it'll be all-new Scarlett. ?I mean, I love to do covers,? she said. ?Covers are fun. I?m a huge music lover, music collector, listener and all those things. I like to do covers because I feel like I?m in the shower. I think I?d probably do original songs for sure.?

She?s been on the promotional trail non-stop as of late, and last night (May 4) Scarlett Johansson paid a visit to ?The Tonight Show? with Jay Leno.
The ?In Good Company? actress looked lovely in a black dress as she chatted back and forth with the late night comedian, talking about her latest film ?Iron Man 2.?
Of the prep work for the film, Scarlett explained, ?It was intense, I have to say. There was a lot of training with Tom Harper, our incredible stunt coordinator- [He] just put me through the mill. I loved it- I loved every minute of it.?
When Leno asked if she could beat him up, Scarlett replied, ?I don?t want to give away all of my secrets, God forbid, but I know how to look like I can kick your a** and that?s the most important part.?

She?s always been an avid supporter of President Barack Obama, and Scarlett Johansson was in Washington DC this weekend for the White House Correspondent?s Ball.
Rather than taking her hubby Ryan Reynolds, the ?In Good Company? babe found another date instead- her twin brother Hunter who actually works for Obama.
In career news, it seems Scarlett has been eyeing the role of Courtney Love in the upcoming big screen biopic about the life of Kurt Cobain.
Johansson told press, "I know that there is a script. That's as much as I know about it. I'm a big fan of Courtney's, and I think she's very, very talented. But I don't know anything about the project. I think the idea is interesting and intriguing, but I would have to really wrap my head around it."

Has Scarlett Johansson been cast as Marilyn Monroe in a new biopic? Unfortunately, no, but the ?Iron Man 2? beauty looks very much the part in the latest campaign for Dolce & Gabbana makeup. Scarlett loves the retro look and says ?I try to be inspired by old Hollywood glamour, whether that?s Rita Hayworth or Lauren Bacall.? I get that some (many?) of you don?t care for Scarlett Johansson. Personally, I don?t hate or love her. She seems to be one of the more talented actresses working today, but I?m basing that on my love of Match Point. She?s pretty when she?s not styled to look corpsey. And she?s generally pretty quiet, which is good, because in interviews I do think she comes across as dull and full of herself. Example: the Parade interview, below, where Scarlett is waxing rhapsodically about how she doesn?t want to be ?just? the sensual vision in a tight outfit.? Girl? you?re in a catsuit, and the studio Photoshopped your boobs, waist and hips in the posters. Let?s have no more of this ?I want to be more than just a sensual vision? talk. Now, if I wanted to be harsh, I would just say, “Bitch, the jig is up.” Sidenote: who says crap like ?sensual vision? in everyday conversation anyway?
“When you have a girl swinging around by her ankles in a cat suit, that’s innately sexy, but she’s also intelligent, ambitious, motivated and calculated. I’ve never really seen a film of this genre where there’s more than sex appeal to the female characters. I would find it boring to be just a pawn in a film about a whole bunch of men fighting it out and rolling around and getting down and dirty. I didn’t want to just be the sensual vision in a tight outfit,” said Johansson.
Scarlett Johansson scored the coveted role of deadly superspy Black Widow in Iron Man 2. She joins Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow to help take out a whole new bunch of bad guys. Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf found out that the startlingly fit Johansson wants people to notice more than her curves in a skin-tight costume.
Looking razor sharp and buff.
“I was eating really, really clean. But you can’t deprive yourself. That’s when you really get in trouble because you have like low energy and feel deprived. I was constantly eating, but it was all super clean food, a lot of veggies and protein, that kind of thing. It makes you feel good, especially when you are exercising. I felt really strong, efficient and athletic, all of those things. It helped me to feel confident about my physicality. It was one less thing to worry about.”
As for that uber sexy black suit.
“Playing the Black Widow, I’m so physically active that the suit was the last thing I was thinking about. It was almost an afterthought. I went through months and months of training, so by the time I put on the suit I was ready to go. It was tight, but not too tight. The biggest problem was that it was so hot. I can tell you that being encased in Lycra makes you sweat when you’re doing stunts and wire work.”
Could the Black Widow get a film of her own?
“I would absolutely love to carry the legacy of the Black Widow forward. There’s a lot to explore there. I think the audience would like this character and like me as this character. I just finished a four month run on Broadway, so I’m taking a little time right now to kind of plan the next move.”
After a year-and-a-half of marriage to Ryan Reynolds.
“I make no big proclamations, nothing. It’s not necessarily getting married that changes something that’s between two people. It doesn’t involve anyone else other than family, children. I think there are couples that are not married in long term relationships that live the same day to day life. But I think good things come with time when you are set with somebody.”
Taking time off is hard to do.
“I don’t mind spending a little bit of time off, everybody needs a vacation, but I have a job that I like to do. If I hadn’t worked for three months, I might be going, ‘What am I going to do?’ You know, there’s only so long you can play golf or whatever, not that I play golf. But sure, I like to travel and vacation, see friends– all that. But I love what I do. I’m happiest when I have something to focus my energy on.”

Yeah, the rest of the interview is pretty basic, although I did like the line ?I make no big proclamations, nothing. It’s not necessarily getting married that changes something that’s between two people.? I think she?s just saying ?It changed something for me, but I don?t speak for every married person.?
Oh, and you know the alleged fight between ScarJo and Gwyneth? I just read this quote from Gwyneth about what she thought when she first saw ScarJo in her catsuit: “I thought ?Wow that is hot, that is hot right there. She was so great to work with; she is a really smart, cool funny girl. It was nice to have another girl on set this time to talk about girl stuff with, it was great.” Talk about ?stuff?. Like how ScarJo doesn?t have an Oscar, and how Goopy is going to cut her.
