Taking a beat to chat about her coveted bod, Jessica Alba covered the October 2013 issue of Health magazine.
The mother of two rocked a sexy red dress for the Marc Baptiste-shot spread as she opened up about her former body woes and starting up her Honest brand.

When you started this company, you were already a movie star. Was it daunting to try something completely new?
?There were certainly moments when it was scary. The day we launched, I was like, Is anyone even going to go to our website [honest.com]? Our distribution is mainly the Internet. It took me about three years of people telling me I was crazy and that there's no way it could ever happen before I found the partners who could balance my weaknesses.?
What's your mantra of the moment?
?Breathe. I swear. It's been so hectic. And I've been doing more work in movies and on television lately.?
Is the fulfillment you get through your company different from what you get through acting?
?Oh, yeah. My decisions here affect more than just me. It's a lot of pressure. This is intense. This is important. This is time-consuming. When I do a movie or a television show, I have control over so little of it. So I've found, lately, that it's so much more fulfilling to be a lot more risky with my acting choices.?
People always seem to be trying to lose weight in Hollywood. Has your attitude on diets shifted?
?To me, it's knowing that if you eat unprocessed fresh food?it doesn't all have to be organic, but try to have the least amount of GMOs [genetically modified organisms] and pesticides?you have energy, aren't starving and don't have to count calories. When I'm "dieting," I'm not eating as many snacks?because I love snacks. [Laughs] Popchips, Pirate's Booty?or I could eat a pound of fruit. So I cut down on snacking when I'm trying to be healthy.?
These days, do you feel differently about your body?
?I was a lot more critical of my body when it was probably pretty awesome. It's like, why did I not ever wear jean shorts? That's so crazy. I was so skinny! I didn't have any cellulite...what was I thinking?! I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never wore them before. Ever. I was so self-conscious. But I remember I was 28 or 29, at an MTV award thing, and my girlfriend Kelly was like, "You should wear a short skirt, because you are not going to be this age forever." Now I'm a lot more confident in my skin?because who cares? At the end of the day, it's so much time spent on something that really doesn't matter that much.?

Enjoying having her daughter home from school, Jessica Alba took Honor out for a girls day on Saturday (September 21).
The "Sin City" star wore a green jacket, white T-shirt, and Pink pants while holding the hand of her eldest daughter as they got their nails done at a salon and went shopping.
Though she's super busy with her Honest Company, the 32-year-old mother-of-two has a few film projects in the works.
Next month, fans can catch Jessica in the action flick, "Machete Kills," alongside Amber Heard, Alexa Vega, Venessa Hudgens, Lady Gaga, Danny Trejo, and Sofia Vergara.

Treating herself to a child-free evening, Jessica Alba grabbed some dinner at Acabar Restaurant in Hollywood on Tuesday night (September 17).
Always a stylish star, the ?Good Luck Chuck? cutie donned an all-black ensemble teamed with green and black heels as she exited the eatery all by her lonesome.
And now that her kiddos are getting to school age, Jessica has shared some of her favorite child?s fashion choices.
Alba loves the cotton ruffle dress she scored at H&M- "I appreciate that I can toss it in the washer. My little ones always come back from school with paint, food or dirt stains!"
Additionally, her daughter Honor digs the Wildfox Kids Jersey T-Shirt- "Honor loves horses, especially My Little Pony. This stylish unicorn tee captures that, so I know it will be a favorite!"

Starting the week out with some mother daughter time, Jessica Alba and Haven spent the day shopping in New York City on Monday (September 9).
Clad in jeans and a red tank top, the "Honest Life" author pushed her stylish youngest through the busy Big Apple sidewalks, making stops at Barney's New York and Starbucks.
On Sunday, Jessica had a front row seat for the Diane Von Furstenberg runway show as part of New York Fashion Week.
The 32-year-old turned heads in a perfectly fitted little black dress under a striped blazer.

Coffee for mom and playtime for daughter, as Jessica Alba and her darling Haven spent some bonding time in New York City Friday (September 6). After picking up some java, they headed to a park.
Miss Alba is about to start filming ?Barely Lethal? with Samuel L. Jackson and Hailee Steinfeld. The movie, set to begin production later this month, is based on a character named Megan (Steinfeld) who?s a teenage assassin. Megan is hunted by a former associate after she fakes her own death and enrolls in a suburban high school.
The 32-year-old Alba is set to play Victoria Knox, the former handler and arch-nemesis of Megan. Jackson will play Megan?s mentor. ?Rush Hour? director Brett Ratner will co-produce the film. No release date has been announced.
Alba, who previously starred in ?Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World,? will next appear in the sequels ?Machete Kills? and ?Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.? The mother of two will also appear in the coming-of-age drama ?Dear Eleanor? opposite Luke Wilson, the action-comedy ?Stretch? with Chris Pine and Patrick Wilson, and in the drama ?How To Make Love Like An Englishman? alongside Pierce Brosnan and Kristin Scott Thomas.

However, home is where the heart is for the working mom as she posted a photo of herself on Saturday cuddling with youngest daughter Haven with the simple caption, "#home."
