It?s no secret that she has flawless skin, and Katie Holmes has just been named the latest spokesperson for Olay skincare.
During her photo shoot, the ?Dawson?s Creek? dame explained that her Toledo, Ohio roots had something to do with her initial interest in the brand.
?It?s an Ohio company, so it feels like home to be working with them. They really mean something to women. I remember buying Olay in high school because I wanted to look pretty.?
Holmes also shared that in order to ?feel beautiful on the inside and the outside? she drinks plenty of water, maintains a regular exercise regimen and uses Olay?s Regenerist cream cleanser.

Hard at work on a new project, Katie Holmes showed up in Manhattan?s trendy East Village neighborhood on Thursday night (September 19).
The ?Thank You For Smoking? star was in good spirits as she worked the camera in a red dress with a gold belt as she filmed a commercial for Oil of Olay.
And while the rest of her ensemble was totally classy, Katie elected to skip the heels and instead wore sneakers in order to stay comfortable during the long shoot.
In real estate news, Ms. Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise recently relocated to the West Coast after purchasing a $3.795 million Calabasas, California home featuring six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Stepping out for some promotional duties, Katie Holmes showed up at Dream Downtown in New York City on Tuesday evening (September 16).
The ?Teaching Mrs. Tingle? actress was in the house to unveil her cover for the DuJour Fall 2014 issue along with CEO Jason Binn and Michael Capponi.
And while she normally tends to keep things conservative, Katie gave onlookers a peek at her black bra thanks to her see-through little black dress.
In her interview with the magazine, Holmes discussed the career lull she experienced while married to Tom Cruise.
?It's the life of an actor. We don't really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity. Even early on, when I was a young actor and all of a sudden people knew who I was, my dad told me, ?Don't let that change how you live your life.? I've always sort of approached it that way. You have to continue to do the things you want to do and not let outside forces dictate.?
Katie added, ?I think I've gotten more comfortable with acting over time. Early on, I could never get out of my head... I was afraid that I was going to get fired... But the more projects you do, the older you get, the more life experience you get, you start to understand storytelling better. So you're a little bit more confident going in. You're not afraid of getting fired. You just want to contribute.?

Katie Holmes filmed an indie flick called Miss Meadows last summer. She wore some really cute dresses and was flanked by high security during the shoot. Just from the set photos, the film looked like a sweet little romcom that no one would ever watch. I still don’t know if anyone will watch this movie, but the subject matter is surprising. This is a dark comedy, and Holmes plays a kindergarten teacher by day and gun-toting vigilante by night. Kind of like Dexter. Katie told The Wrap, “It’s a bit of a stretch to take on a character who does this, but she’s also funny and I thought the script had a lot of charm.” We’ll see. She also thought The Giver was a good idea, and it sort of bombed. Let’s watch this trailer and discuss.
What do you think? I think Katie could have gotten away with this movie back in her Joey Potter days. It would have made for a nice counterpoint during her Dawson’s Creek years. Will this film resurrect her career now? No way. It doesn’t look like a terrible movie. It also doesn’t hold mass appeal. Miss Meadows seems ambitious, but it’s not a career changer.
Katie also covers the September issue of DuJour. The shoot is pretty dry, so I popped them into the gallery. Katie uses the interview to talk about her career’s dry spell:
On being famous: “Even early on, when I was a young actor and all of a sudden people knew who I was, my dad told me, ‘Don’t let that change how you live your life.’ I’ve always sort of approached it that way. You have to continue to do the things you want to do and not let outside forces dictate.”
She didn’t use her divorce to reignite her career: “It’s the life of an actor. We don’t really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity.”
Her break from acting was voluntary? “I totally admire women who go back to work six weeks after giving birth but when she was little, I was not ready. I was a very nervous mother — like, sleeping next to her crib — and I was in that mode for a long time.”
On maintaining normalcy for Suri: “I just try to live in a way that makes me happy. There’s definitely an awareness of the fact that people have camera phones, and that your privacy is sometimes invaded, but that’s something that I think everyone has had to adjust to.”

All of this makes sense considering Katie was in the grip of Scientology handlers every moment of the day when she was with Tom. Katie knew the drill years before she left Tom, and that probably added to the pressure that all new mothers feel about their babies. I’m so glad she left that marriage.

She always has a blast with Jimmy Fallon, and Katie Holmes looked ravishing as she stopped by ?The Tonight Show? last night (August 11).
The ?Mad Money? starlet was in the house to promote her new film ?The Giver,? though it wasn?t long before Fallon invited her to play a silly new game.
Jimmy pulled out two iPads and announced they?d be going toe-to-toe in Photobooth, a contest to see if they could imitate each other?s strange pictures.
Katie kept cracking up, declaring, ?It?s so bad!? while Fallon sized up Holmes? snapshot and observed, ?There?s a lot of forehead, let me see if I can match that... so there?s a lot of forehead.?
Finally, the animated host thanked Katie for playing along, noting, ?You are the coolest and most fun!?

Here are some photos from last night?s premiere of The Giver. From what little I know of this movie, it involves a society that gives people drugs so they can?t see colors or feel all the feelings, and something about the color red is very significant. Like, when people stop taking the drugs and start reading books, they see all the colors. Thus, most of the ladies wore something red to the premiere. It actually works ? there seems to be some kind of theme and all of the women complement each other very well.
First, Taylor Swift wore this Monique Lhuillier Resort 2015 gown with Casadei pumps in that beige-y nude that is so popular these days. I guess I?m happy that they aren?t nude LK Bennetts or Louboutins, but still? Swifty didn?t bring her shoe game for the premiere. As for the Lhuillier dress? this makes me a prude, I know, but I?ve always had an aversion to wearing darker colors on top of lighter colors. Like, I hate it when people wear white pants and a black shirt. I just have a knee-jerk reaction to it ? the darker color should always go on the bottom. But that?s just me. It?s a lovely dress and it feels very vintage-y to me, like this is a revamped debutante dress from the 1950s.
Next up: Katie Holmes in Zac Posen, with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Zac Posen usually isn?t my favorite designer, but I like this. I like the constructed bust and the fabric train at the shoulders, in the back. The color is pretty and Katie?s makeup looks great. I was going to say that her hair is the worst part but now that I?m looking at it? it?s not that bad, really. I like that she pulled it up and styled it. Her hair is better than Swifty?s, in any case.
Here are some of the other stars of the film, including leads Odeya Rush and Brenton Thwaites, plus Jeff Bridges (with wife Susan) and Meryl Streep.

Her new movie ?The Giver? comes out on Friday, August 15th, and Katie Holmes was busy on the promotional trail this morning (August 6).
The ?Mad Money? actress donned a printed top with jeans and black slide-on shoes as she arrived at the SiriusXM Radio studios in New York City, smiling for fans as she scurried inside.
Earlier in the day, Katie paid a visit to Matt Lauer and talked about her crazy life of career and motherhood on the ?Today? show.
Holmes explained, ?You know what? I never really look back. I just approach life (taking) it one day at a time. I?m really excited about where I am right now. I've had some really wonderful creative experiences. I'm just really grateful.?
Furthermore, Katie noted that she?s making every effort to give her daughter Suri a normal childhood. ?Of course you try your best. I try very hard because I'm very grateful for my upbringing, my parents, my siblings. I try to do what they did for me for my little one."
?The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and her accomplishments mean everything. Whatever I do is whatever. It's really just about her. That's what I think is most important."

Catching up with a gal pal, Katie Holmes talked up a storm on her mobile phone while out and about in New York City?s West Village on Monday (July 28).
The ?Go? actress was apparently enjoying her conversation as she smiled from ear-to-ear while looking summertime sexy in a printed sundress with a white belt and blu flats.
Last week, Katie hit it off with pro surfer Courtney Conlogue while attending Harvey Weinstein?s cocktail party for the Association of Surfing Professionals at the James Hotel.
Afterwards, Holmes told People she wants surfing lessons from Conlogue- "I hope she's got a lot of time ? and patience. I've never surfed before. If anyone's going to get me to stand up, it's going to be her."

Getting all gussied up for a fun summer event, Katie Holmes arrived at The World Surf League cocktail party in New York City on Thursday (July 24).
Having a ball at the Harvey Weinstein-hosted bash, ?The Giver? babe looked lovely in a lacy white Nina Ricci dress as she posed with fellow guests including Matt Lauer on top of the Big Apple?s James Hotel.
Meanwhile, Miss Holmes revealed that she may have found a new hobby for her and daughter Suri Cruise.
After chatting with surfing star Courtney Conlogue, Katie told People that she set up lessons to learn how to get up on a board.
"I hope she's got a lot of time ? and patience," the 35-year-old actress said. "I've never surfed before."
