Katie Holmes’ love for fug booties knows no boundaries, and she’s wearing them in every one of these photos except for the one above, which was taken at the Vanity Fair Oscar party and was the last time that she and husband Tom Cruise were photographed together. These days, Tom’s been very busy shooting Oblivion in New Orleans, and In Touch reports that Katie is “happy on her own” in New York City while hanging out with Suri. This comes in sharp contrast to last summer when Katie and Suri were in Miami almost the entire time while Tom was filming Rock of Ages. They swam and ate ice cream and watched Tom rock out on a balcony at their hotel. Now? After five years of marriage, Katie is allegedly much happier when overbearing Tom is not underfoot. Did someone have a contract renegotiation?
Katie Holmes used to be a near-constant presence on the sets of Tom Cruise’s films. But while Tom has been in New Orleans for weeks shooting Oblivion, Katie has barely visited her husband.
Holed up in NYC with their daughter, Suri, Katie has been putting distance between herself and her husband, according to the insider. And Tom, 49, will have to get used to it. The insider says that after half a decade as his wife, Katie, 33, is no longer intimidated by him. “Reaching her fifth anniversary gave Katie the confidence to walk away when Tom acts up,” the insider says.
And he’s been acting up a lot lately, putting pressure on Katie to have another baby. Though he’s desperate for them to conceive again before his 50th birthday in July, she has mixed feelings and refuses to give into Tom’s pressure to have another baby. “They’ve been fighting about it for a month now,” the insider reveals. And while Tom has been clearly unhappy, Katie is no longer rushing to his side. “It’s easier for her just to avoid him.”

Meanwhile, In Touch also reports that Tom is feeling very dejected that his wife is no longer doing everything he wants precisely when he wants it, so he’s taking it out on the Oblivion cast and crew:
Tom is not his usual self. Normally friendly Tom has seemed “very, very serious,” says a set insider.
Tom’s acting like a diva. He’s taking out his anger on staffers by making them stay mum while an insider says his co-star Morgan Freeman has no such set rule.
Tom’s Ridiculous Rider:
No talking to Mr. Cruise unless he addresses the cast/crew first.
No cell phones or portable electronic devices with photo capabilities allowed on set (no iPads!)
On-set eating or drinking is only allowed during specified break times.
Tardiness can result in immediate dismissal.

Eh. This sort of on-set behavior isn’t exactly new for Tom. Sure, people tend to describe him as a very friendly guy when he’s “on,” but he’s also known to be something of a Nazi at times. And of course, I’m not drawing an overwrought metaphor but actually talking about Tom’s role as a pseudo-Nazi in Valkyrie, where he was said to have raised a huge stink on set when someone farted during an obligatory moment of silence. Also, banning cell phones and iPads is typical on movie sets these days because studios are very paranoid about internet leakage (as they should be). Is Tom dejected that Katie no longer spends her entire life on his movie sets? Probably, but I doubt he’s taking it out on anyone in a public manner. He’s gotta protect that “nice guy” image.
Still, I tend to think there’s some degree of truth to this story at least as far as Katie relishing her relative independence. Instead of spending months in hotels just to be near Tom for the entire duration that he films a movie, she’s been spending a lot of time alone in New York with Suri. Then she and Suri jetted down to New Orleans (where Oblivion is shooting) for a few days this past weekend. Katie wore her fug boots everywhere, and she looks a bit strained in this photo. Given that Tom is rather manic, he’s probably exhausting to be around on a long-term basis.
In addition, it bears mentioning that Katie and Suri did not travel to New Orleans alone. They made a mini-vacation of it by bringing Katie’s parents along too. In this photo, there’s a real baby in that stroller, and it freaked me out a bit because I was expecting one of Suri’s dollies. Maybe it’s a Scientobot — their models are looking more lifelike every day.
Just a few days ago, Katie was spotted back in Los Angeles wearing white pants and her fug booties. Those shoes will haunt my nightmares tonight.

Stepping out on a sunny Hollywood afternoon, Katie Holmes was spotted paying a visit to the dance studio on Wednesday (April 4).
The gorgeous brunette donned an outfit made for spring as she rocked white skinny jeans, tan booties and a red and blue striped top while making her way to her car.
Holmes' solo California outing comes just as gossip magazine, InTouch, is reporting that Katie and her hubby, Tom Cruise, are spending more time apart since he has been pushing her towards having a second baby.
An alleged insider has apparently told the tabloid that the "Batman Begins? beauty "has been putting distance between herself and her husband.? As the pair near their five year anniversary, the insider says it has given "Katie the confidence to walk away when Tom acts up,? adding Cruise hasn?been acting up a lot lately, putting pressure on Katie to have another baby.?
Since InTouch had also previously reported that the Hollywood pair had, ?The Fight to End All Fights,? back in 2009, time will tell if there is any truth to this accusation.

Venturing out for a leisurely lunch date, Katie Holmes was spotted at the popular Toscana restaurant in Brentwood, CA on Tuesday afternoon (April 3).
Dressed casually in a denim shirt and peach colored flare jeans to put a little spring color in her outfit, the 33-year-old had showed off an ear-to-ear grin as she exited the Italian eatery after chowing down with a few close friends.
The lunch outing comes just as Katie's ex-fiance, Chris Klein, opened up during his "American Reunion" press efforts about his breakup with the former "Dawson's Creek" actress.
Talking with People magazine, Klein told, "We found comfort in one another? We had a similar upbringing and we were going through the same experience (in Hollywood). As the teenage craze came to an end, we found that our relationship was changing as well. From my side there was a lot of denial and fear about the future. It ended as amicably as these things can end.?
The 33-year-old actor adds, ?When we were breaking up, we kept it to ourselves for a while. It looked like it was Katie and Chris together and two seconds later Katie and Tom together, but that?s ridiculously compressed? Kate was incredibly respectful about the decision she was making to move on (with Cruise). She called and said, ?Listen I want you to know before you see it anywhere else.??

A little over a week ago, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise resurfaced in New York City after about a month’s absence from the public eye following the Oscars. Tom is probably still filming One Shot in very sensitive manner, but his girls are in NYC for the first time since the MI4 promotional photoblitz that took place last December. Since their emergence from probable reprogramming, Katie and Suri have been papped all over the place and while entering and exiting their apartment building. As always, Suri has been incredibly fashionable, but Katie’s look has been decidedly unkempt. In particular, the Mail has been giving her hell for stepping out with wet hair and badly applied makeup. While Katie likely hasn’t gone entirely make-up free, it sure looks that way in a few photos, and In Touch reports that this is a very calculated move on Katie’s part. It seems that Tom loves it when his wifey gets all dolled up; he can’t stand it when she steps out looking slightly less than perfect, and Katie is well aware of this. So Katie is reportedly doing all of this on purpose just to put her foot down and show Tom that she’s not entirely under his thumb. Is it true? Who knows, but go Katie:
Fight the power! Katie Holmes appears to be rebelling against her husband, Tom Cruise. According to a friend, Tom, 49, prefers that Katie, 33, never leave the house unless she looks perfect, but lately she’s been running around town dressed casually and sans makeup one day a week. “Tom can be controlling, but Katie no longer lets it get to her,” the friend says. “there are days when she leaves the house without even taking a shower. He wants to project a glam image at all times, but Katie finds it exhausting.” Hope she knows there’s low-maintenance — and just gross.

In Touch is officially branding Katie’s strategy as “no-makeup Mondays,” but I’ve gathered photos from assorted days of the week, none of which were taken on a Monday. So this story might be total crap and only based upon Katie getting a little bit lazy with her grooming habits. While she doesn’t look that bad without makeup, her hair has been pretty stringy lately. At least she could blow dry it before heading out, right? Maybe add at least a little eyeliner and mascara too. Poor Tom must be having fits, and I can sort of see his perspective on this. After all, he never leaves home without makeup (or his cute little lifts), so he probably figures it’s just the thing to do. One must look pretty at all times according to Tom.
These next few photos are described by Fame/Flynet as Katie resembling “a member of ZZ Top,” but I’m getting much more of a Cousin It vibe. Either way, it’s not a good look.

Since everyone has been loving Katie Holmes?s multiple photo ops in New York City this week, here are some more photos. Earlier, we saw photos of Katie bringing a pajama-clad Suri Cruise out to dinner at a nice restaurant, and yesterday we saw Katie attempting the fedora as she looked especially zonked-out. She looks much more alert in these photos for whatever reason. Maybe she got some sleep. Or maybe she was just having a nice night out with her mom, and without Suri. I guess Suri got to stay at home with a nanny? Probably. Katie and her mom went to see a Broadway show – Evita, with Ricky Martin. You can see more photos of Katie here.
Once again, I like Katie?s outfit. As I?ve said, I always wonder where Katie goes when we don?t see her for months at a time, but I?m starting to think that she?s allowed to do a lot of online shopping, right? Because she never wears the same thing twice. And her style eye? well, it?s developing. I?m not crazy for the blouse (it?s okay), but I like the jeans a lot and a LOVE the shiny black coat. I would wear the hell out of that coat.
And in case you think that Katie has spent her entire trip to New York immersing Suri in adult things (dinners out, etc), People Mag had a nice story about Katie and Suri painting their own ceramics. According to People?s source, Katie was doting on Suri and they had a nice mother-daughter energy.
Last thing: do you think Katie bones any of her bodyguards? One of them looks like Jeremy Renner with a shaved head. I would hit it.

Here are more photos of Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise?s magical trip to New York City. I think this header photo might be my new favorite image of Katie Holmes, by the way. Maybe Katie isn?t on drugs. Maybe she isn?t being audited to the point of brain-hemorrhage. But she certainly has that ?look? at times, doesn?t she? Shall we even discuss Katie?s outfit? As many of us have said many times, Katie does one thing really, really well: she picks out awesome jeans. I love this dark-wash pair. I would love to have a pair just like this. As for the old-school fedora, which seems comically oversized? I don?t know. Katie is always trying to start ?trends?. We?ll see if some C-list girls pick up on fedoras. I?m also including photos of Katie earlier on Wednesday, wearing skinny jeans and a rather awesome white sweater.
As for Suri? I want the paparazzi to not throw their flashes into her face so much. She?s just a little girl. There?s no need for the paps to try to get her photo that aggressively, just as there?s no need for Katie (and Tom) to be so okay with it.
Yesterday, I covered their multiple photo ops from Tuesday, including Suri?s pajama-clad trip to a fancy restaurant with her mother. Well, Katie took Suri out to dinner again last night, this time to Joanne, which is the restaurant owned by Lady Gaga?s parents. This time Suri didn?t wear her jammies. She did have a Hello Kitty bag full of kid-stuff, though! You can see more photos here, at The Mail.

We haven?t had new photos of Katie Holmes since the Oscars. She didn?t get to go to the Oscars, but Tom Cruise let her come to the post-Oscars parties, where I?m sure she had to watch him do his victory rounds. Before the Oscars, Katie had gone dark for a while too – and I haven?t seen Suri in months! I always wonder what Katie and Suri are up to when we don?t have photos of them for extended periods of time. What are they up to? Are they being audited? Reprogrammed? Or are they just on vacation? And then I wonder why – when they do come around – it seems like we get multiple sightings of them every day. Maybe it?s just that they?re in New York right now. They always get pap?d a lot in NYC.
So these are photos of Katie, Suri and Katie?s mom at various points yesterday. Suri looks taller! I really like Suri?s little Pink dress too – it?s super-cute. I hope her mom didn?t design it. But Suri didn?t get to wear her pretty Pink dress to dinner last night – Katie brought Suri to the ABC Kitchen with Suri only in her jammies and a coat. Suri even carried a little lunchbox – The Mail assumes that Suri was actually carrying food in there, but I think it?s possible Suri was using a lunchbox as a purse. This buffet of photo-ops made me wonder if Katie is about to begin promotion of some project? but she?s not. She hasn?t filmed a movie since Jack and Jill (that Adam Sandler catastrophe). She doesn?t have anything pending on her IMDB page either. Hm.
Last thing: I really want Katie?s fuzzy white sweater. I used to have a similar black sweater, but the shedding got on my nerves, and I gave it away. BIGGEST REGRET EVER.

Spoiling her daughter a little more, Katie Holmes was spotted taking Suri Cruise into a toy store in New York City on Tuesday (March 20).
With her hair pulled back and blanket in hand, the former "Dawson's Creek" darling helped Suri jump over a puddle in tiny ballet flats before she got startled by the paparazzi and hid behind a stuffed animal.
It's been a busy day for Katie in the Big Apple, as she was spotted taking care of some career details earlier today without Suri.
The 33-year-old, who currently is not working on any films, was spotted walking into an office building with pictures available here!
