Katie Holmes is promoting her Olay ambassadorship, which is a good fit for her gorgeous skin (as this new ad image shows). She’s done several interviews lately and always comes off calm and collected. There’s a running joke amongst some gossip bloggers that Katie isn’t the most interesting interview. She used her super exclusive People cover to rave about glitter and pancakes. Last week, she met with Yahoo’s Style Sessions to detail her sock obsession. After years under Tom Cruise’s thumb, I imagine she’s relieved to maintain normalcy. I get it (and still suspect she’s more interesting than she pretends to be).
Katie’s latest interviews include a talk with E! about how a Dawson’s Creek reunion wouldn’t work because the show “was of a certain time. It was pre-Internet. There was an innocence there.” She also spoke with Into the Gloss about hair and makeup. Katie admits doing her makeup in the car. I hope she doesn’t mean she applies it while driving. Nope, she had better not:
She likes low-maintenance makeup: “My schedule is pretty busy, so I’ve learned to do my makeup quickly because I prefer to sleep. I’ll wait until the very last minute to wake up and get ready in about 20 minutes. First thing, I drink about a liter of water … And in New York, I’ll actually wash my face more because I feel the city’s a dirtier place. Whereas in California, it’s very dry, so I actually drink more water and moisturize more when I’m there. I’ll do my makeup in the car sometimes. In the summertime, it?s all about putting the sunscreen on, then some mascara and maybe a light eyeshadow that’s in the same shade range as my lipstick–something really natural. Tom Ford has a good lipstick called Blush Nude … I do wear purple eyeliner instead of black. It makes my eyes look greener.”
Her hair habits have improved: “When I was a little girl–if I could have–I would have gone a year without washing my hair. I hated it, to the point where my sisters had to pay me to wash my hair. I think after experiencing that, I like to wash it every day.”
Her Met gala wig: “I put my hair in a wig for the Met gala this year, and people thought I actually cut it again, but no. Sometimes it’s tough with the internet–you’ll do something different and get dressed up just to get cut down because they don’t like your new haircut or something. But that’s probably a bigger problem. Either way, if I were to cut my hair again, I wouldn?t cut it so short that I couldn?t put it in a ponytail.”

The internet really thought Katie chopped her hair off for the Met gala, which I didn’t understand. The new ‘do looked so costume-y and fake. That was the plan, right? The part about Katie not wanting to wash her hair as a child is gross but cute. Now she washes her hair every single day. Some people (not me) think that’s an overkill move.

Kicking off the week with some promotional duties, Katie Holmes and Helen Mirren showed up at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Monday night (March 30).
The ?Dawson?s Creek? cutie and ?The Queen? star were in the house to premiere their new flick ?Woman in Gold,? also starring Ryan Reynolds and Max Irons.
Slated to hit theaters on April 1st, ?Woman in Gold? is about ?Maria Altmann, an octogenarian Jewish refugee who takes on the government to recover artwork she believes rightfully belongs to her family.?

She loves to keep up on all the latest trends, and Katie Holmes was planted in the front row at Desigual?s Fall 2015 presentation at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week on Thursday night (February 12).
The lovely ?Dawson?s Creek? actress sat next to supermodel Adriana Lima and Desigual managing director Manel Jadraque as she watched a slew of gorgeous models (including Behati Prinsloo) parade past in some stunning offerings.
Prior to the show, Katie told press, ?I really love the colors for women that will be coming out for the fall, but I have to admit that I do love to wear men?s pieces. Long men?s trenches are the way to go .?.?. I have long arms, so they reach the length of my body better than a women?s coat can.?

Always on top the latest trends, Katie Holmes paid a visit to Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015/16 in Berlin Germany on Tuesday (January 20).
The ?Dawson?s Creek? star was all decked out in designer duds as she arrived at Brandenburg Gate to attend the Marc Cain runway presentation and catch up with fellow famous folks.
And once inside, Katie sat front row next to English actress Elizabeth Hurley and Silvie Meis as a slew of beautiful models pranced past her wearing Cain?s amazing new range of offerings. At one point, Holmes did a double-take because one of the posers was wearing an ensemble very similar to her own!

At 35 years old, Katie Holmes is gearing up to host her very own Thanksgiving Dinner later this month with the help of her loving mother.
During her interview on ?The Late Show with David Letterman,? the ?Miss Meadows? starlet explained, "I'm very excited because I'm the baby of five, and I've been using that for a long time but this year I'm taking responsibility and my mother's going to teach me how to make a turkey.?
Furthermore, Katie plans on doing the whole thing, even the gross stuff- "I am going to pull the gizzards out."
Letterman declared, "Turkey is easy, you're going to roast it right?" Confused, Katie replied, ?Well I don't know, is that what you do?" David stated, "A lot of people boil it in hot oil, I wouldn't recommend that," and Holmes gushed, ?Deep fried is so good.?

Kicking off the week with some media duties, Katie Holmes showed up in Times Square, New York City on Monday (November 10).
The ?Teaching Mrs. Tingle? actress smiled for the cameras as she strolled out of ABC Studios after taping a segment with Robin Roberts on ?Good Morning America.?
Meanwhile, Katie recently told People magazine that while she has much of her personal and professional life down to a science, her kitchen skills are another story.
Holmes shared, "My first two pancakes are always burned. Well, sometimes it's not just the first two, and I'm seriously under pressure because it's the last part of the batter and I'm flipping it, and it's about to break apart, and I'm thinking, 'No, please, please, don't break ? this is going to set the tone for the whole day. The whole day could be ruined by this!'"
Additionally, Katie isn?t exactly a morning person- "[I'll be] slapping at the three alarms I have set in case I miss one of them, just going, 'Snooze, snooze, snooze,' thinking, 'It can't be. It can't be time to get up now.? I'm an Olympic sleeper. Could that be a thing? Could we have a sleeping Olympics? I would get the gold."

Katie Holmes covers this week’s issue of People. They didn’t choose a very flattering cover shot, right? This is very “bride of Xenu,” but People dangles the promise of Katie telling her “story.” So the sleepy, robot look may be on purpose. I am interested to read the full story when it arrives, but I don’t think it will be too dramatic. Katie’s kept quiet on the issue of her divorce to Tom Cruise, and I suspect there’s an agreement in place. Plus we’ve already heard the worst of it. Like how Tom would scream for days on end at Katie and how she had to use burner phones to organize her getaway. What else could she possibly reveal?
Katie’s been doing well for herself. She bought a second home in Los Angeles. She has some indie movies coming out, and she’ll reprise her Jackie Kennedy role. Oh, and Olay hired her as global ambassador, which is probably how she afforded that second home. Here’s what Katie has to say to People (so far):
Katie Holmes has a three-part mantra these days.
“I don’t have any fear now, I don’t have a lot of rules for myself, and I don’t take myself that seriously,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s cover story.
And when it comes to her career, “I feel ready for new challenges,” she says.
The star, 35, is poised to reprise her role as Jackie Kennedy and appears against-type as a vigilante school teacher in the new black comedy Miss Meadows.
And Holmes will soon go behind the camera for her feature directorial debut.
Yes, her 2012 divorce from Tom Cruise made headlines around the world, but Holmes has long since moved on.
“I don’t want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am,” she says of her post-split persona. “I don’t want that to be what I’m known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now.”
She is also a mom, and life with her 8-year-old daughter Suri “means everything to me,” she says. “I’m learning every day, and I have been since the minute I became a mom.”
Part of that learning curve is accepting that things don’t always go smoothly at home, she admits.
“My patience has grown, but between 4 and 6 p.m. . . . I mean, wow,” she says. “Between tickle fights and glitter art, I try to throw in some manners along the way.”

I completely understand Katie’s desire to not be known as the third ex-wife of Tom Cruise. That must be super embarrassing to realize the whole world was correct about Tom when we all thought he was losing his (lifted) marbles. Katie will be fine. She’s been free for two years, and there’s no going back. She’s completely correct about the hours of 4-6 pm when it comes to raising a child. There’s something about that time of day that brings out the most rambunctious behavior.
Since we haven’t talked about Katie in awhile, so here are plenty of pics. She and Suri went to the farmer’s market together, and I’m jealous of Suri’s hair.

She?s bounced back to success after her extremely public divorce from actor Tom Cruise two years ago, and Katie Holmes is letting everyone know that she wants the world to move on as well.
During a sit down with People magazine, the ?Batman Begins? beauty explained that she wants the world to see her as Katie, not Tom?s ex-wife.
"I don't want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am," the 35-year-old beauty explained. "I don't want that to be what I'm known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now."
Katie got her start on ?Dawson?s Creek? in the late nineties and went on to star in films like ?Wonder Boys,? ?Batman Begins? and ?The Gift.?
As for today, she has lots of big projects on her plate, including ?The Giver? in which she stars alongside Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges.

She loves getting all gussied up and Katie Holmes was in fine form as she arrived at the Skin Cancer Foundation Gala at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City last night (October 21).
All decked out in a black sleeveless jumpsuit with satin paneling and black heeled boots, the ?Batman Begins? babe smiled for the shutterbugs as she sauntered inside the exclusive soiree.
When recently asked if she had any beauty tips to pass on to her adorable daughter Suri Cruise, the 35-year-old actress kept it simple.
Katie explained, ?To be beautiful, and to take the time to be who you are. That?s so valuable, because we?re all running around trying very hard.?

Though she didn?t receive rave reviews for her depiction of Jackie Kennedy in the original ?The Kennedys? project, Katie Holmes is giving it another shot.
The ?Mad Money? actress will reprise her role in the forthcoming ReelzChannel miniseries ?The Kennedys: After Camelot,? based on Randy Taraborrelli?s book ?After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to Present.?
However, don?t get too excited just yet- filming isn?t slated to begin until sometime in the Spring of 2015.
ReelzChannel CEO Stan E. Hubbard stated, "The Kennedys was a brilliant execution of storytelling based on the lives of one of the world's best known families. We are delighted that we were able to step up and acquire the broadcast rights to that property and we have every confidence that this new miniseries will be as enthusiastically received as the last one.?
